The 15 Best Tiramisus In London

"The slab of tiramisu at Leo’s is thoughtfully constructed to stunning effect. There are tiny chocolate nibs in the bottom, the slightly bitter sponge is soaked in their house coffee, there’s a healthy hit of liqueur, a thick layer of crème anglaise cream is pleasingly custardy, and it’s showered in grated chocolate. Not just a dessert at the Italian restaurant, it’s also on their breakfast menu. Pair with a double espresso, grab a broadsheet hanging on the wall, and make a morning of it at this gorgeous Clapton spot." - sinead cranna, jake missing, rianne shlebak, daisy meager

The 11 Best Restaurants In Clapton

"Every hour feels like golden hour at Leo’s, a carefully curated Italian bar, restaurant, and aesthete’s daydream on Chatsworth Road. The bar area is decorated with vintage advertising and hanging newspapers, and the espresso machine hisses all day long. While in the skylight-lit back dining room with crisp white tablecloths, porchetta crackles over wood-fire from the open kitchen. The food ranges from excellent pastas to OK mains but, given Leo’s makes you feel as good as it looks, so-so plates can be swept beside the mid-century skirting." - jake missing

Leo's - Review - Clapton - London - The Infatuation

"Before it was Leo’s, 59 Chatsworth Road has been an ice cream factory, a caff, and a biker hangout. Now, it’s a sexy and sceney Italian restaurant and bar. One where neon clogs peek out like hooves from beneath formica tables and where plates of giardiniera mimic the rainbow-coloured tiles that clad this Clapton heirloom. Some might see this as a bad thing. Others, who fantasise about €1 Italian restoration projects, may disagree. One thing is certain—Leo’s is beautiful, flawed, and seductive all at once. photo credit: Aleksandra Boruch photo credit: Aleksandra Boruch photo credit: Aleksandra Boruch photo credit: Aleksandra Boruch photo credit: Aleksandra Boruch Pause Unmute Imagine someone who took a sojourn in Sardinia, raided the SSENSE sale, and returned lambrusco-drunk on Chatsworth Road—that’s Leo’s. Entering the front bar area is like stepping into an aesthete’s fantasyland. One where wood-panelled, mid-century tones, black loafers with white socks, and delightful tramezzino finger sandwiches reign supreme. A meal here has highs (the pastas) and plenty of mids (the mains), but all of it is softened by the unmistakable feeling that you’re in a fever dream of the most Sorrentino variety. The sun-dappled negronis and impeccable manicures are happy distractions to food that doesn’t quite hit the heights. photo credit: Aleksandra Boruch photo credit: Aleksandra Boruch photo credit: Aleksandra Boruch photo credit: Aleksandra Boruch photo credit: Aleksandra Boruch Pause Unmute Leo’s is a restaurant that excels in 35mm moments. That first sip of fizz, a wipe of indecently fingerable 60-month aged parmesan whip, the last slurp of agnolotti broth. The menu is straightforward but its quality meanders. The chilled soup could be bathed in and carpaccio di mare is as flavourful as it is vivid. Other things are plain tepid—not least, ironically, the sea bass l’acqua pazza (in crazy water)—but then again, the walnut ice cream has every table spoon-jousting. Hackney is a crowded field when it comes to restaurants and Leo’s isn’t the best of the bunch, but it is certainly the best-looking. Couple that with an oozing plate of cicoria-stuffed cannelloni, a couple of bottles of Tuscan red, and a new Our Legacy shirt you’ve been saving for a Friday night, and it’s enough to make us happy. But if you want food to remember then it’s true—looks aren’t everything. @infatuation_london Here's what we thought of Hackney's coolest new Italian spot. Leo's 📍Clapton #leosrestaurantandbar #leosclapton #restaurantsinlondon #InfatuationLondon ♬ Storytelling - Adriel Keep scrolling for the food rundown Food Rundown Giardiniera A plate of kaleidoscopic pickles is how pretty much every meal should start and it’s no different here. Fennel, peppers, carrot, and cucumber are all present and correct. Tramezzino al Vitello Tonnato This trio of finger sandwiches, though a little dear at £11, are a delightful two-biter. Aperitivo hour requires finger food—it's non-negotiable—and these porky snacks leave you wanting more. Mullet Carpaccio, Preserved Lemon & Green Chilli Tart, fresh, and wholly enlivening, this carpaccio is one of the best dishes on the menu. The slivers of mullet are smothered in a lemon and chilli dressing that perfectly balances acidity and spice. photo credit: Aleksandra Boruch Agnolotti Stuffed With Rabbit a Succhittu This luscious agnolotti, all glowing yellow pasta and shimmering velvet sauce, can be sensational. The rabbit stuffing when moist and balanced with gaminess, is excellent. That said, not every bowl is identical in its depth of flavour. photo credit: Aleksandra Boruch Cannelloni, Cicoria & Pecorino A crowd-pleaser of the most satisfying variety. Three plump cannelloni stuffed with garlic-laden blitzed cicoria and topped with a puddle of pecorino sauce that’s been flashed under the grill. It’s gooey, it’s green, and it’s totally irresistible. photo credit: Aleksandra Boruch Grilled Pork Loin, Braised Broad Beans Even if this plate of wafer-sliced pork doesn’t quite wow, it’s still an enjoyable main course. There’s a light, if a little insipid, meaty broth and the glowing green broad beans have a satisfying bite. Especially when combined with a bit of crackling. Wild Sea Bass L’Acqua Pazza Sea bass in crazy water is a classic Italian peasant dish that thrives in the summer. Unfortunately, this version is a little too light on flavour. The fish is moist but otherwise there’s very little else going on. Walnut Ice Cream, Fresh Cream, Amalfi Lemon, Coffee Sometimes the best desserts just look like a puddle. This is one of them. The walnut ice cream—subtly flavoured but present—is bedfellows with tart dollops of lemon curd that’s all hidden under a blanket of fresh cream dusted with coffee powder. Share at your peril. photo credit: Aleksandra Boruch" - Jake Missing

We held our wedding reception in Leo’s and it was absolutely perfect. The food was stand-out delicious (and was the talk of the whole wedding); the service friendly and attentive (shout out to Ian our waiter in particular, who was an absolute gent); while the overall atmosphere of the restaurant and bar was warm and welcoming from start to finish. They really made us feel like we were at home while we were there. Communication around the booking was also very clear and quick, with the restaurant manager Giovanni being super accommodating to all our needs and ensuring we had everything we needed. We’re looking forward to bringing our family and friends back there for dinner in the future. Thanks again to everyone at Leo’s! Niall & Natalia

A quaint little restaurant tucked away in the now trendy part of Hackney. We went with a group of seven for a birthday celebration. Food was hearty, unpretentious & delicious. Service was friendly & attentive, atmosphere relaxed & intimate. We all enjoyed what was served & were delighted we had chosen the venue.

If you are a oenophile or even vaguely into wine, ask for the full wine list, they have an impressive cellar here that has been built up over the years. Within a few weeks, this place has become a new favourite and I can't believe it has taken this long for me to visit. The food here is excellent, especially anything cooked on the open fire. We've had Turbot, Tiramisu, pasta and more. Everything very good.

It was a lovely atmosphere once upstairs, staff were very pleasant and polite. Our cocktails were amazing and recommended by the waiter. It was very expensive for 2 drinks, but it was worth the experience.

Went here for my 30th birthday and the food and vibe of the restaurant was amazing. Staff were knowledgable and friendly, however, it was a busy Friday night and we felt like they were understaffed which meant we were waiting a while to get the staffs attention and it slightly took away from our evening. The staff were great when they were able to come to our table but it seemed they were rushed off their feet most of the evening so were unable to be as attentive as we would have liked. Still giving 5 stars as wouldn’t want this to affect the rating, however, it’s definitely something that could be improved.

This place has potential, but the service would have been better if monkeys had run it. They forgot our order twice. We had to wait 45 minutes to an hour for our second dish, only to understand that they completely forgot our order—and yes, they also made me have to ask for Napkins and our cutlery.

Have been wanting to come to Leo's for a while and came last Friday evening and enjoyed it a lot. The staff were really welcoming and the room at the back had a lovely feel and great acoustics so it was easy to chat and catch up with friends even though it was full. Not cheap but solid food and a fair price- had a delicious lasagna and tiramisu.

The food was amazing, admittedly the portions could be bigger for the asking prices. Nice to visit on a rare occasion, could bee pricey in the long run. The staff were very friendly and attentive. Personally I found it gets too loud at the back end of the restaurant, especially from 19:00 onwards. Still worth a visit for the food alone.
