The Best Delis for Smoked Meat in Montreal | Eater Montreal

"A deli dating back to 1961 that uses Polish methods and smoking with maple, this Côte-Saint-Paul haunt has long been a favourite for many in the southwest side of the city. While it’s first and foremost a grocer and takeaway counter, the shop serves plenty of sandwiches to grab and go with a freshness few can hold a candle to. The same goes for their dill pickles, kielbasa, and spicy salami." - JP Karwacki

My friend came visiting Montreal from Toronto, she brought me to here for this smoked meat 🥩, she highly recommended it to me and said: you definitely need to try their smoked meat! I don’t come to Montreal often, but whenever I come...... And I did listen to her! 😋You guys should try it as well! Btw, the lady who works here is super friendly and nice! Thanks for your service!

Love love love this place. The two women who run it are really nice and the food is always good. Pro tip - get the spicy sausage sandwich all dressed if your looking for heat or the smoked meat if your just looking for greatness.

Yelp
Great Polish deli in Ville Emard, not that far from Jolicoeur metro station. With covid happening I can't hit my usual delis on St.Laurent so was I ever happy to find out the folks here not only sell kielbasa sausages but also Spanish chorizo and smoked meat. They make sandwiches here too if you want something to go. I saw lots of Eastern European products here like red currant jelly, lingonberry jam, a whole slew of varieties of mustards, many other sausages and deli meats, frozen pierogies, biscuits and types of pickled food I normally don't see anywhere else. Service is friendly and prices are very reasonable.

Yelp
In Western Canada where I grew up one of the foods you would come across was Polish & Ukrainian. This meant Kielbasa, perogies and holuptchi (cabbage rolls). Everyone had at least a few Polish or Uki friends who you'd indulge this at their homes or the ubiquitous Winnipeg social. At the snack table was rye bread, mustard and a type of garlic coil, kielbasa or farmer sausage (Winnipeg Old country or dents sausage is the best if ever in The Peg). So it's been over a year and a half since I've been home so I had a serious craving for a nice smoked Polish sausage. After doing some searches I found Felix Mish. It looked legit. Been there for 50+ years in a working class neighbourhood. The first time I went by the place on a Saturday it was closed at 3pm and we arrived at 3. So kindly the man working let us in. Little to the chagrin the woman working with him was. It happy he let us in after closing. They were kind we picked up some kabanosy lean kielbasa sausage and perogies and we were on our way. Second visit I came back for some more kabanosy. I also grabbed some sauerkraut and tried some some wiejska. All are probably not good for my health however they were delicious. Not too salty and different garlic levels. There is a big selection of Polish and Eastern European grocery items. Everything from baked goods to sauces and juice from the old country. Always great Discovering new gems. This is definitely one. The ladies working the shop remembered us from the first visit and were kind and cordial to serve us.

Yelp
The smoked meat is superb. They smoke it on the premises, and serve you the cuts as you like. Service is old school friendly, very nice to see nowadays!!

Yelp
Simply the best smoked in the city. I grew up in Montreal well known for it's smoke meat & nobody's smoked meat comes close to this place by far, it's amazing living in the area & you can smell the aroma when the meat is being smoked right on site!

Yelp
Everything they make I love. The best smoked meat and polish kolbassa in Montreal. Did I mention that the owners wife is HOT!

Yelp
I had the best Smoked Meat EVER. Tender and juicy, full of flavour yet not salty. Done in their 50 year old smoke house. They also make Bogos ( fried cabbage and sausage) Russian salad and a large selection of sausages. Also try their Breakfast sausage or Mergues beef. Everything done to perfection. Did I mention that the owners wife is HOT
