Google
This place serves Chinese, Thai, and Japanese. Everything looked delicious. We ordered Crispy General Tso's Chicken and was the bomb! It was so crispy but so tender at the same time. I couldn't stop eating. Masaman Curry was good but had a unique flavor. Not quite sure what it was but little different then what I'm used to.

Google
The gf food is incredible! I came for lunch and the service was very fast- I sat, had a multi course meal, paid, and was out the door in 30 minutes flat. It's a little bit pricey but given the gf menu and the location it's worth it. Definitely put this on the list to try!

Google
Went to Lilli and Loo with some friends for a group lunch. A few of my friends have dietary restrictions and Lilli and Loo has gluten-free menu options. The service was good and we got our food quickly. I got chicken pad thai it was good. I would say this is a solid choice if you are in the area. The menu had a lot of options, there was sushi, there was Chinese and Thai food options. So something for everyone. And for NYC it wasn't crazy expensive.

Google
Delicious Chinese dishes. This restaurant offers gluten free options. The dishes are a little pricey and are all family style plates. Bring a part of 2 or more to enjoy the flavorful dishes of Lilli and Loo.

Google
Excellent Asian cuisine, NY style. We called ahead and reserved. The staff is very nice. We had gluten free versions of tempura shrimps, pork dumplings and sushi. I had the General Tso with chicken GF. Gluten free has it's own separate. The other party members had good food too. It has very nice and very spicy chilies inside. They have good Japanese plum wine. Comfortable seating and nice atmosphere with simplistic but canning decor.

Google
My dad is gluten free and he was THRILLED to get some GF Chinese food while visiting. We ordered everything GF so we could share (huge portions) and you couldn’t even tell it was all GF. Objectively maybe the best Chinese food we have had in NYC. The tangerine beef was exceptional! It was super busy on a Saturday night so we were glad to have made a reservation.

Ben Porter

Google
Really delicious gluten free Asian food! Had pork dumplings (ask for well done to have them pan fried on both sides), miso soup, egg drop soup, General Tso chicken, and Sesame chicken. All gluten free! 2 people ate for 53.29 before tip.

Georgina Chamberlain

Google
I ordered exclusively from the gluten free menu and was blown away. The food was fresh and flavourful. The staff was very knowledgable about gluten free, and were very clear when the dishes from non gluten free folks were brought out. The only downfall would be that the dishes came out sporadically instead of how you would imagine, where all of your main dishes come out together

Yelp
I appreciate that this place makes my little one happy with dumplings and where I can eat Singapore Noodles without worry. It's an all time favorite dish of mine that I just need from a takeout place but more times than not, getting it results in a rash of sorts on my cheeks. So this place makes me happy. Inside is basic but meets my needs, it's clean and the servers do their jobs well. I would go back. I just haven't been able to make it to that end of town lately.

Yelp
Extremely busy from the moment they opened, reservations are a must. The food was fine, if not memorable. What stayed with me from eating here was the feeling that we were bothering the staff with our presence. There was no warmth or welcoming here. Based on this alone I would not return.

Yelp
My friend is gluten free and recommended we go try this place out since they offered both a GF and a regular menu! We walked in and were seated right away by the door at a small table! The place was packed! Like I mentioned, 2 menu's & a drink menu! They only have beer, sake & wine! I ordered a glass of wine, kani salad & chicken pad thai, he ordered bbq ribs & GF shrimp noodles. The food was okay - it wasn't as tasty as I expected - maybe a little on the bland side? We asked for some extra soy sauce on the side! All in all, if you're GF & want Chinese food, def recommend you give it a try! Service was quick and all the people working were very polite and positive energy overall!

ILovetoShop A.

Yelp
They have an entire gluten free menu that is delicious! As someone who is both gluten and soy intolerant, I loved the amount of options. I ordered the tangerine beef and would've never known it was gluten free. Service was great, and pretty quick.

Yelp
Delicious food, nice Service, nice prices. Some of my favorites are from every area of the menu, but whatever I've had here is delicious . Please see my earlier review for more details. The other night I went in and had some delicious wonton soup, crispy rice with spicy, tuna, one roll of spicy tuna sushi. And my pink lemonade, which I like a lot. Great food, great service. Food is served in a very timely manner. I really like it here. They also have a gluten-free menu with many selections

Yelp
Nice experience. Efficient & professional service. Good food. Good variety GF & vegetarian options. Enjoyed it. Will be back & recommend.

Yelp
Hosted a small bridesmaid dinner here and the staff was very accommodating! Food portions were great and we enjoyed the variety of options. In terms of authenticity and deliciousness level, I saw some mixed reviews but I guess for my purposes as a host I was happy! People ordered what they wanted and as a fusion restaurant just wanted to enjoy food tasting food. Prices and stuff seemed normal for the area. (My sis paid!)

Yelp
This place is such a great option for gluten free Chinese food!!! The restaurant is cute and has a bar. They were also playing French music. We walked in on a Sunday afternoon and seated right away. We had fried pork dumplings to start and they had GF soy sauce. We had fried rice and genera tso's chicken for our mains. Everything was delicious and they did not compromise taste.

Yelp
For as long as I can remember, I've been getting Chinese food at Lilli and Loo. It really is the only Asian place in my neighborhood that never fails to disappoint me. The owner and her staff effortlessly deliver quality service, with the food ready in 15-20 minutes. I appreciate how they consistently deliver on any meal modifications. Every time I go into Lili and Loo, everyone cordially greets me, asking me how I'm doing which makes the pickup experience enjoyable. Lilli and Loo has a delicious garlic sauce that is hard for other Asian restaurants to match. I frequently order the fried tofu and broccoli w. garlic sauce and the garden salad w. citrus dressing**. These two dishes are really delicious, especially the dressing!! If I want to go here for a quick bite to eat, I usually get the California roll or the Philly roll with extra wasabi and soy sauce. The sushi is always made fresh so it tastes just right. Come to Lilli and Loo, it really is one of the best Asian restaurants on the UES! :)

Amy S.

Yelp
(I'm still eating right now) but when I tell you that I had to RUN to Yelp... I mean it. This is by far the best Chinese I've ever had in NYC. 10/10 best Chinese in NYC. I said what I said.

Yelp
Ordered a few things on postmates - it was just ok overall. The food came pretty quickly. The beef noodle soup had a good portion size and nice broth, although the texture of the beef was a little gristly. The shrimp stir fry lunch special had good flavors, but it came with a small portion of shrimp and could use more spice.

Yelp
This was a perfect spot for a rainy day dinner. The service was quick and helpful. We got the Phoenix roll which was amazing, some of the best sushi I have had in awhile. We also got the Mongolian beef, which was flavorful but not my personal favorite. Gluten Free: They had a separate gluten free menu, with a very wide selection. They had many options for food I have not seen available gluten free in awhile. Staff was knowledgeable and I feel safe eating here, highly recommend.

Roxanne S.

Yelp
I came here with my friend from out of town who has a ton of dietary restrictions (gluten, dairy, nuts, fish, carrots, cumin, apples, fruits with pits, anise, etc.) The staff was super accommodating with her allergies and did their best to ensure no cross contamination, which is especially great since they serve sushi here. I had the general tso's chicken and it tasted like regular general tso's. The prices were comparable to other midtown Chinese joints and the food sizers were generous. I'd eat here again and I recommend it if you eating with others who have dietary restrictions.

Yelp
This little gem is absolutely perfect! As someone with celiac disease it's been years since I had such delicious gluten free food. Everything about it - fantastic! I will be here whenever I visit NYC.
google avatar

Amanda L.

Yelp
A neighborhood gem. Homely atmosphere- a cute and clean environment that serves Chinese food. If you have Celiac disease- please note that they have an extensive gluten-free menu which is wonderful! Very accommodating to food allergies. Staff were all pleasant and the food is good!

Yelp
We stopped in for a cold drink and an appetizer to share, we arrived shortly after 12 and the restaurant was quiet. The gluten free menu was expansive offering most classics like fried dumplings, fried rice, sushi, sesame chicken etc. We have a great gluten free chinese spot near us, so we decided to try something that they don't offer. We tried the pan fried pork dumplings. It came with a tasty dipping sauce. The pork itself was great, but the dough on our dumplings was undercooked. Fried side was cooked fine but the opposing side was thick and chewy and was goo on the chopsticks. Sadly this is the only food item we tried. Many others have raved about this place but we probably would try somewhere else next time we are in the area. I had a Cosmo, taste was off but drink was strong and it was $10 so a deal in the city. Staff was nice and attentive.

Yelp
I went to Lilli & Loo because I heard they had an extensive gluten free menu and I was not disappointed. It was not just one or two options, there was a WHOLE MENU front and back of gluten free options! I took myself here on a solo dinner date, sat on a barstool at the small bar area (only 5 seats), and read my book as they coursed out my meal for me. I got a glass of wine, a bowl of miso soup, gluten-free shrimp fried rice, and a sushi roll. The prices were so reasonable and I just wanted to try it all. The fish was fresh and the fried rice was amazing. The staff was super knowledgeable about the ingredients in the food, which made me feel super safe about what I was being served (no gluten!). This is going to be my new go to spot!

Yelp
Perfect lunch spot. Close to Bloomies, great service, very clean and priced fair. I come here weekly since the food never fails. I alway enjoy the hot and sour soup here I adore the tuna poke bowl attractively prepared , very fresh with warm brown rice. The sushi here is delicious albeit not thrilling but the Chinese dishes are very clean, not oily especially like the basil chicken Best jasmine green iced tea as well. Lovely staff Do it.

Isabella G.

Yelp
I always appreciate a Chinese restaurant that has gluten free options as this is hard to come by! Started with the pork dumplings and got the general tsao's chicken. Both were good solid options, but neither stood out as amazing. It's a small restaurant with friendly staff. Would come back to explore other options on the lunch menu.
google avatar

Adriana B.

Yelp
We happened upon this restaurant while walking around the city we decided to give it a try since the menu offered many options. I had sushi, Sexy Pink Lady roll; it was really fresh and so good! My friends had beef fried rice, shrimp pineapple fried rice, chow fun noodles and chicken teriyaki. They all thought the food was great. The portions are very nice, you won't leave hungry. Some of us shared a bottle of wine, they don't have a large selection but it was a good wine at a good price. The service was good, they quickly set up a table for 5 for us.
google avatar

Danielle B.

Yelp
I have a good friend who is gluten free, so we decided to check this restaurant out for dinner one night, and we're so glad we did! I got the pad Thai and cucumber roll, which were delicious and my friends got sushi and gluten free chicken, which they loved too. We also all split the gluten free dumplings, which were just okay, but the rest of the food made up for them being average. The restaurant is small, but so cute, and the service is fantastic. The second we were low on wine in our wine glasses, the server would come over and pour some more for us. They were so sweet and so attentive. We will definitely be back, especially because it's so hard to find gluten free Chinese in the city!

Taylor J.

Yelp
The best meal I've eaten this month. The GF General Tso's Chicken was awesome. It had the crunch factor that is so hard to find done well with GF and the sauce was a great balance of sweet and spicy. Also got the pan-fried dumplings, the wrappers on those were a bit too chewy, but the flavor was good. Egg drop soup wasn't my fave, but I went with a friend who got the ginger salad and she said it was super fresh and good quality. We were seated quickly and the space feels intimate without being cramped. My water glass was always full and the food came out pretty quickly. Definitely would eat there again!

Yelp
Gluten free food was great. Rare to find good Chinese gluten free food. We liked everything and we enjoyed ourselves tremendously. Service was timely and staff attentive.
google avatar

Kate R.

Yelp
This is my favorite place to doordash so I finally had to visit in person! So amazing to have so many gluten-free chinese options to pick from, as well as specialty rolls!! Really had all the things I was craving. I love their sesame chicken, pork dumplings, and tried their black angel roll (pictured). Wine is about $10 a glass. I will definitely be back to try many more things on the menu!!
google avatar

Grace G.

Yelp
So good! I am gluten free (not celiac) and they are so knowledgeable and have a TON of GF options. I also did not get sick after leaving which was exciting!

Jackie P.

Yelp
I cannot speak for the gluten free menu or main dishes. I had soup, dumplings and sushi. 1 star for calm, clean, warm restaurant and attractive unassuming decor. 1 star for pleasant service. Another star- to be generous- for bottomless green tea which was really mild, hot and tasty. However: Whatever is going on in the kitchen needs an overhaul. The dumpling wraps were so thick that I couldn't eat them. I had to open them and eat the inside with a little wrapper. Very unappealing. The sushi was uninspired and production line but would work in a pinch if you were starving and needed a warm place to sit The soup had a heavy garlic taste overpowering it. This was not an enjoyable meal. It looked like their better choices were Chinese staples like sesame chicken and broccoli type dishes which I didn't try. So if you are choosing between this place and McDonald's on the same avenue, I'd say it's a toss up. I don't think their Japanese offerings hit the mark. I'd like to see them succeed and hopefully they can hire a consultant or get a chef who understands Japanese food. I left with a bad taste in my mouth. Literally.

Anna J.

Yelp
It's the best gluten free Chinese in all of NYC. It's honestly even than non-gluten free.
google avatar

Carrie R.

Yelp
This is a great spot. I was hungry mid-afternoon after arriving at the Loews hotel 2 blocks away. Really enjoyed my lunch special. It's really nice inside... updated, modern and super clean. Service was speedy. And the sushi seemed very fresh. Definitely tasty.
google avatar

Emily M.

Yelp
Got takeout for lunch the other day. I had no idea this was a gluten free place, nor did I know they specialized mostly in Chinese. They've got a wide variety of Asian items on the menu (Chinese, Japanese, Thai, even Indian), and I ordered something that was of Thai origin, so perhaps their Chinese food may be better. That being said, this review is based on the food that I received. Good portion sizes on the lunch menu. Came with soup or salad, and I chose the miso soup, which was decent. My entree was the Thai basil. By far, this was the most bland Asian food I've ever had. Though the menu labels the dish as spicy, there was a complete lack of any spice, or for that matter, any flavor whatsoever. Chicken was good and tender, assumedly velveted in the typical Chinese way. Alas, I was disappointed by my meal. It feels so bad to give a bad review because the quality of the ingredients seemed really good, but flavorless food is too egregious of an error.
google avatar

Darryl T.

Yelp
Easily some of the best Chinese food I've had in a long time. The tenderness and flavor of their beef and broccoli dish was the highlight of the day. I nearly ate my daughter's entire plate because I had ordered a different dish. It's a smaller restaurant with casual ambiance so make a reservation to guarantee your seat. The wait staff was attentive and service was quick and efficient. The bonus is they have a large gluten-free menu which had a great selection of Chinese dishes and sushi for our other gluten sensitive daughter. We had their gluten-free fried dumplings and gluten free tempura shrimp. Both were winners. With the many providers of Asian fare in NYC, I'd recommend this one hands down.
google avatar

Jennifer T.

Yelp
I was really excited to try this restaurant and called to reserve a table for one. But when I arrived I was asked to wait "a couple minutes". I told the hostess/server that I called to reserve the table and she looked at me blankly and told me to wait. She then invited the party of three, who just walked in and didn't make a reservation, to be seated before me. Isn't this a type of discrimination against the lone diner? I know on the business side of it, you would rather lose one customer than three but what's the point of making a reservation? So to be honest, the two stars is for that. Let's talk about the food- I ordered pan fried dumplings and salt and pepper shrimp. I grew up with this food but once I found out I have celiac, I haven't eaten it for over ten years. This meal meant a lot to me. The dumplings hit the spot-- the skin falls apart easily-- as many gluten free products do but it didn't matter, it was good. The shrimp dish was also very tasty. The texture was great- crunchy and the flavor was very close to how I remember. I'd definitely recommend this place for anyone who is searching for gluten free Chinese food -- but maybe don't come by yourself unless you want to wait. And don't bother with a reservation. Four stars for the food. The other servers were very pleasant and made up for the experience. Otherwise, I'd have given my experience a single star.
google avatar

David M.

Yelp
My shrimp dish was bland and lacked flavor. Portions were not too plentiful either. We dined late so it might have been an off night for the cook

Daniel G.

Yelp
As a general rule, I avoid places that call themselves pan Asian. Still we came here based on a relative's preference. I ordered the chicken teriyaki and it was inedible. The chicken was of dubious quality. It was covered in an extremely salty but otherwise flavorless coating that was nominally supposed to be pomegranate teriyaki. And the vegetables were undercooked. My dining companions felt their dishes were pretty good, hence rge the 2 stars instead of 1
google avatar

Jenifer C.

Yelp
Yum! Excellent Chinese at a fast pace. Ordered from here for a big office lunch. It was delivered timely and with perfection. Highly recommend.

Mel W.

Yelp
Visiting the city with food allergies takes planning. What a GREAT find!!! The minute we walked in, we felt cared for! They most definitely know how to care for people with food allergies (dairy, egg & cashews). You want to dine at this wonderful place!! FABULOUS food and AMAZING staff!! Also suggest reservations.

Allison O.

Yelp
Really lovely service! The food was delicious and they were so good about my allergies. The gluten free menu was SO large and SO GOOD! I got the GF dumplings, lo mein and the general tso chicken. The best I've had in a while, especially as someone with celiac. My gluten eating friends loved it too!

Daniel V.

Yelp
My wife, who has celiac disease, and I ate here during our most recent trip to NY. Needless to say, we were excited to find a Chinese restaurant that had gluten free options. We enjoyed our experience thoroughly. The service was great and we loved the food. Best of all, my wife didn't have any symptoms after our meal. Would definitely recommend stopping in for a bite to eat.
google avatar

Jennifer A.

Yelp
Fantastic gluten free options. I have celiac, haven't been successful finding sesame chicken or chicken and broccoli that's gluten free, especially while still breaded
google avatar

Grace B.

Yelp
It's so hard to find gluten-free dumplings in the city so I was excited to see this on the menu! The dumplings were flavorful and chewy! The gluten free oriental rice noodles were good too and quite a large portion. The ambiance was peaceful - perfect for chatting without having to strain your voice. Our server was attentive and gave helpful recommendations. My non- gluten free friends had the sushi- tuna roll and the shrimp roll and said they enjoyed it as well. Would definitely come back to try some more of the GF options.
google avatar

James S.

Yelp
Second visit in two days - I've been GF for 8 years and have really missed ordering freely from a Chinese Restaraunt menu. Everything we ate was nicely spiced and interesting. Service was Very GOOD
google avatar

Sofia D.

Yelp
Gluten free menu!!! General tsao!! Taste so good!! Taste bette then Wei West restaurant in battery park. Amazing gluten free Asian food menu! They also have sushi and always very safe for celiacs!! I always come here and love this place!!
google avatar

Sunny S.

Yelp
Loved this spot! So many delicious options, and big portions! It can get pretty crowded though, so be prepared for a potential wait. It's worth it!
google avatar

Lauren D.

Yelp
Came for dinner with a friend. The dining area is full without feeling crowded. There's an open-air kitchen in the back. They have an entire gluten free menu, which my friend loved. We were able to enjoy pork dumplings and shrimp tempura from it. The sushi was great! My friend got the Tiger roll and the Black Angel roll, and we split the Phoenix roll. I also got the (non-GF) Thai Basil Shrimp with rice, which was also good. Would definitely come back!
google avatar

P. S.

Yelp
Love it. This place is consistently delicious. There is a reason the neighborhood loves it and continue supporting them. Plus, they are great about allergens.

Christopher F.

Yelp
Thank you for making gluten free delicious* Chinese food! You guys are the best. Also food gets delivered piping hot which I appreciate greatly.
google avatar

Mary Jane R.

Yelp
Ordered off of the lunch menu and it was deliciousness. I had the Thai basil chicken bento box, which included soup, shrimp dumplings, California roll, and rice. It sss to include a salad but they didn't have any, probably because of the supply chain problems but he didn't explain. I asked for light spice and the waiter suggested having the spice on the side which was a great idea! I had the corn egg drop soup - delicious. My husband had crispy sesame chicken and soup - also the corn egg drop. He was very happy. The atmosphere was peaceful, the decor warm and inviting. I hope to return!
google avatar

Makayla K.

Yelp
One time I accidentally ate a single piece of toast and then spent the day putzing around NYC in the rain so going into this establishment soaking wet and starving was exactly what I needed. And it was SO GOOD. I had pineapple fried rice that warmed me up from the inside out. It was also perfect for my friend who can't have gluten or lactose and they cared for her allergy needs. Everything we had was warm, fresh, and a good portion size. Recommend if you're ever in NYC!

Yelp
we've ordered delivery and have eaten at lilli & loo's 3 locations over the years. i'm amazed that our food order can be received, cooked, and delivered within 30 minutes (how do they do that?!) not only that, when delivered, the food is extra hot which makes our usual order of gluten-free general tso's chicken really tender and delicious. i'm bummed that they no longer have bubble tea on the menu, but we still come here for their extensive gluten-free options. service is typical of asian restaurants - efficient, but friendly once they start recognizing you as one of their many regulars.
google avatar

Melissa P.

Yelp
Loved the Chinese food from here. We ordered delivery and everything tasted great. We got the following: -wontons in chili oil and peanut sesame sauce: this dish was amazing. The wonton noodles are so light and thin, the filling has great flavor and we loved the sauce -spring rolls: very good. Light and crispy even after delivery -wonton soup: so good and the wonton noodles were light and thin and the filing had great flavor. The soup also had great flavor -hot and sour soup: very good -chicken and broccoli: very good sauce and had all white meat chicken which was great -sweet potato tempura roll: good, nothing special Overall, I would definitely recommend this restaurant
