San Francisco’s New Restaurant Openings - San Francisco - The Infatuation

"While this loosely French restaurant in North Beach isn’t ready for its grand opening, it is offering a preview to those in the know (like you) in the form of Petite Lil’s. While the main restaurant is still getting set-up, stop by for oysters, tinned fish, and a 32-ounce bone-in tomahawk daily until 1am." - julia chen 1, patrick wong

North Beach Business Coit Liquors Reopening at New Location After Fire | Eater SF

"Down the street at 1707 Powell, the forthcoming bar and restaurant Lillie Coit’s drew a positive neighborhood response when Coit Liquors' sign went back up; owner Nick Floulis says he is pleased to see that recovery moment and had opened a pop-up before construction to help neighbors affected by the fire." - Caleb Pershan

Pop-up Restaurant Will Fundraise for Businesses Damaged in North Beach Fire | Eater SF

"Named for Lillie Coit — the famed patron whose bequest built Coit Tower and a firefighter statue in Washington Square Park — the forthcoming restaurant at 1707 Powell is still in the works; the team (Nick Floulis, Elmer Mejicanos, and John Paul Jacques) expects a delay but says they have plenty of time on their 20-year lease and felt compelled to help neighbors after the nearby block was engulfed in flames." - Caleb Pershan

Came during a week night, easy to get a table for my group. Large bar and helpful bartender. Did not try the food this time, but sounded good. Will try next time!

We stopped by and tried a few cocktails — it was one of the few bars open in the area at the time. While the drinks were fine, the place didn’t quite capture the vibe I associate with San Francisco. It felt more generic than local, lacking that distinct character or charm. Not a bad stop if you’re nearby, but not a must-visit either.

You must go. It simply is the place. Perhaps. Come for the drinks, stay for the food, return for the people. Nick, Amaris, Rey….it’s Christmas every day!

Google
for my bipoc girlies, stay away and keep your peace. it was my second time coming here solely because we wanted oysters, not because the drinks are good mind you. we step inside to a group of maybe six other people waiting by the door to be seated. it’s a 15 minute wait, not terrible. two white women move towards the front because there is a space opening as someone got seated. we stand exactly where they were standing. there are also two of us. the manager comes up to us again and says that “there are guests dining” and we need to wait outside. we were the only non-white people standing there and there was plenty of room by the entrance. putrid and deplorable service.

WOW. Still in shock. To set the stage...I grew up in this neighborhood and my parents were regulars at Washington Square Bar and Grill, aka the Washbag, this space's prior iconic iteration. I was excited to finally visit with friends, and have talked up how great the atmosphere is supposed to be during the Holidays. Instead, tonight's visit was abominable. We started off with great cocktails, food, then 10pm oysters special. Young female server Amaris? was sweet as sugar. One friend had to leave early, paid a separate check for his 2 cocktails, had his plans delayed and ordered another cocktail. Then really had to leave, and paid his 2nd bill for the 1 cocktail. Both bills included tax and tip. The other friend and I continued to order food and drinks, then asked for our bill. The bill showed our total without our first friend's items. My friend asked to use her Apple gift card towards the total. They took this payment, and re-issued the bill, so she and I could pay the balance individually. Except the bill now presented included our friend's prior 3 drinks, including taxes. We went from owing $76 each to $112. Went up to the bar to request the prior bill from Amaris and she said it wasn't available? This formerly pleasant female server turned shockingly feral and aggressively challenged us. She said there was no way to issue a bill without all items at the table listed, even if those items had already been paid for separately. WHAT!? We should accept that the the bill presented had already deducted those items. EXCEPT... they weren't..and guess what? When you keep items on a bill, the higher total also equals a higher tax amount, and higher tip base. We asked for a Manager b/c she was so volatile. As he was attempting to help us, she repeatedly returned to verbally attack us. And even though he kept asking her to walk away, she wouldn't. Chaos. As he was finally resolving the issue, a small male employee came over and aggressively asked what it would take for us to just settle and leave...$20 refund...$30? He asserted we were keeping them open past closing, even though there were +6 people/obvious friends sitting at the bar. So, even though we customers had been forced to spend +30 minutes at 2am correcting the bill and mitigating a hostile employee, we were at fault!? We paid the final bill, and were escorted out the side door, during which the immature waitress smirked and threw insults at us. What happened to basic customer service and civility? Do better, hire better, train better...Fire better.

Yelp
Lillie Coit's is perfect for a big party, date night, and a happy hour. You can hear who you are with which is amazing! The food is fantastic and makes you feel rich and luxurious. Drinks are fab. The staff is attentive, friendly, and super cute. I will definitely be back here for more oysters and caviar.

Yelp
Awesome bar accompanied by a solid food menu, exquisite vibes, and great service. Had an extremely pleasant evening here near the holidays and really enjoyed the christmas decorations. $99 tomahawk "booth steak" was fun to get for the novelty, but it could've had a more even/accurate cook on it. That herb butter though ... drool We were there on a weeknight, so not too busy of an evening but still plenty of people celebrating and just enjoying this French-inspired escape. Bisous !

Yelp
Wow, what an excellent, cozy and welcoming bar. The owner is nothing but gracious and you can tell he wants each customer's experience to be perfect. If you are lucky enough to come in as he is working the bar, he may even pour you a welcome sip of champagne Late night happy hour oyster is one of the best deals in the city for a GREAT selection of local oysters. The decor is a loving homage to historic SF north beach and you can tell how much the owner pays attention to the details, with classic movies and music playing throughout the space. They are known for their coffee based drinks, with the coffee old fashioned and espresso martinis executed with perfect ratios and the highest quality coffee. Overall, worth the visit any night of the week.

Yelp
Fun ambiance with amazing service. I have been here multiple times before the official opening, and I'm happy to see that Lillie Coit's is getting the love it deserves! I went here on my birthday for late night drinks; Amber, Tiffany, and Demetrius (sorry if I misspelled), made my birthday so special with their hospitality and warmth. There's ample seating downstairs and some seating upstairs. Fun spot for a night out with a big group of friends. I really enjoy that they serve food until 1 AM. If you love oysters, I recommend ordering the Oyster Jubilee: buy 6 get 6 free from 10 PM-1 AM. I also recommend the crinkle cut fries with aioli and the steak frites. They make delicious martinis, too. You'll always have a fun time at Lillie Coit's!

Yelp
An evening at Lillie Coit -- bone marrow, a delicate French omelette, tender bavette, and perfectly crisp crinkle fries. Exceptional service, exquisite flavors... a true Parisian escape in the heart of San Francisco. 。Can't wait to be back to try to the omelette with caviar and creme fraiche... the tinned fish and more wine!

Yelp
Went here after a friend's birthday dinner for a surprise after-party, and it was such a fun spot. I'd heard good things about their espresso martinis, so of course I had to try one. I got the version with tequila, and yes, it was delicious. Pro tip: skip the location in the Marina and come to this one instead. Atmosphere The space worked out perfectly for our group. There were about 20 of us, and we were able to fit comfortably between the big back booth and a couple of side tables. It has a great energy without feeling too cramped or loud, which made it ideal for celebrating. Experience The drinks were great across the board. The espresso martini lived up to the hype, and the others I tried were solid too. I also noticed they offer small plates, so I'd definitely come back here during a night out when I want both good cocktails and a bite to eat. Final Thoughts Such a good find for group hangouts or post-dinner drinks. Great vibes, great drinks, and enough space for bigger parties. Definitely keeping this one on my list for the next night out in the city.

Yelp
Stopped by on a Saturday night around 11 pm after seeing a comedy show at Cobb's. Skipped out on dinner so was happy to see a decent sized menu and even buy 6 get 6 free oysters after 10 or so. Oysters in my opinion were the star, both raw and broiled. They served it with a homemade hot sauce that was delicious. Then had French onion soup and finished with steak. Both good, but I've had better elsewhere. The staff were wonderful. I sat at the bar and they were attentive and fun to engage with. It was really cool they gave a complimentary glass of sparking upon sitting down. Unfortunately I wasn't a fan of the drinks but everything else was good. Beautiful space as well and great addition to the area.

Yelp
We wanted to grab a little drink before bout dinner res so we stopped by Lillie Coit's. The space is decorated well with dark lighting, lots of space. I think this is a fantastic spot to treat yourself to a drink and lots of little apps. It's a little pricey for sure, but I did enjoy the drinks/experience. I think it's worth it for a night out. We got an espresso martini and the blood orange gimlet. Both were light, delicious, easy to drink. We got the fries with aioli which were a great bite. Simple, easy, exactly what I needed with a drink. The service was quick, nice, I had a good time. I would recommend for a drink, and apps for dinner. They have a great menu and I def wanna go back. I will say for 2 drinks, and fries, we walked away paying over $50 so keep that in mind if you're ballin on a budget.

Yelp
Really loved this spot! Came by on weekday evening with a big group of about 15 and enjoyed a few drinks + steak and frites. Super helpful and attentive service at the bar too. There's an oyster board with which blew my mind--how is it possible to eat that many oysters?! My favorite drink was the mint espresso martini! I was surprised with how good it was and they came in similar cups as Moscow mules, but in the shape of a martini glass. Super awesome Stays open late too!!

Yelp
THE BEST ESPRESSO MARTINI IN THE CITY!! Loved their drinks and also the bartenders were super attentive and walking around to check on everyone. They have 3 versions of espresso martinis and do all of them so well - came on a friday night with a group of girls while passing by randomly & had such a fun time
google avatar

Mary Bryan O.

Yelp
Stopped by for a quick drink. They are known to have great espresso martinis but you can order pretty much any standard drink you desire.
google avatar

Kelly R.

Yelp
Great espresso martinis! They have a variety of espresso martinis with different alcohol types, which as a tequila lover was nice to not have to ask to substitute in the standard espresso tini. This is a very fun bar and their menu looks great! Their French fries are super crispy, while also still having a decent amount of potato in them. Perfect for a meal or just to stop and grab a drink!

Yelp
Amazing service and totally crushing the soft opening. Nick is really leading the way to revitalize sf by being open from 4pm to 1am. This is one of my new fav places in sf.

Yelp
My mom & I popped in early last night, meaning to stay for just one drink before heading down the street for dinner. We ended up staying for hours! The staff was fantastic, our drinks were top notch (gin martini for both of us), our dinner (omelette, broccolini and hot coppa/mortadella melt) was delicious and came out really quickly. We sat at the bar all evening (best place to get to know the locals that come in for the early shift!) but the velvet booths looked great too and I deeply appreciated the nice low lighting and candles. Will absolutely return. Thanks, Nick!

Yelp
Perfect spot to catch up with friends. Came for a holiday pop up and keep me coming back to see Nick and the crew. They have unique menu items, plenty of tables and open seating, and very personable customer service. Go to Lillie Coit's!

Yelp
Super fun place with a great vibe! Walked by and thought I'd stop in for a quick bite and ended up staying for about three hours. Bartender made me feel so welcome and was super great. I'll be here again!

Yelp
Fantastic spot! The bartenders really know how to show you a good time. Excellent late menu and scene. Felt right at home as a visitor to the city.

Yelp
We went on a Saturday so it was crowded and loud. The service was still lovely and so was the food.

Jennifer L.

Yelp
I was a very early customer of the restaurant during its soft opening phase, bringing a group of a dozen of my close friends and spreading the word about this establishment around the city. Unfortunately this evening (10/10/25) I came in with my parents, who were repeatedly yelled at to wait by the door to the street while several other groups of younger adults were given tables who arrived later. When we were asked to approach the bar to speak about status on a table, my mother was spoken to very rudely by the owner after she shared she couldn't hear what he was saying above the sound of the music. I said to the owner that she couldn't hear him and asked him to please be kind. I shared that I have supported this neighborhood establishment and would appreciate if basic politeness could be extended to my family, to which he said "sorry you feel that way". I hope that things can improve moving forward for the sake of this location of the neighborhood and the staff of the restaurant. Thank you.

Michelle H.

Yelp
My coworkers and I came for the first time today. We work just around the corner and were looking forward to celebrating here after learning that a newish bar opened up. We used to come to this location for happy hour pre-pandemic (under a different name and management). We were sadly disappointed by the drinks that we all just described as "lemony" and a rude bartender who was racist and unprofessional with one of the members of our party. I'm also confused as to why non-alcoholic drinks cost the same as the alcoholic drinks. Such disappointing service and drinks! We will not be returning.

Syenna V.

Yelp
the best neighborhood bar in North Beach. You can't get better service, cocktails, food, or atmosphere. This place cannot be missed! Nick, the owner provides superb service- nothing but great things to say about Lille Coits!

Jack Z.

Yelp
Two constants at Lillie Coit's. The proprietor is always a self important prick and the steak frites and martinis are awesome. They're never as busy as they should be, which is a shame because it a great location and concept (maybe because dealing with the owner is like pulling teeth). They could also use an interior designer. Looks like they ran out of money half way through building it out.

C. Michael B.

Yelp
Great food and service! Good sized bar, friendly staff and it will be even better once the light build out is complete. Highly recommended!

Brett P.

Yelp
Hidden gem. If I was a local I'd be here once a week if I could afford it. Food, drink and ambiance were excellent.

Alexis P.

Yelp
Asked the name of the amazing bar back/ food runner, and I think it might be Rey Rey. He is the best: generous and helpful! and the reason we will be back, though we enjoyed the food and drinks very much. Thank you!!
