The Best Restaurants In The North End - Boston - The Infatuation

"In a neighborhood full of tourist spots, Limoncello stands out as a restaurant for locals. The menu is full of familiar Italian favorites like pasta alla vongole, eggplant rollatini, and chicken parmigiana, but if you only have time for a single visit, get the rosetta al montasio, a housemade pasta with rich cheese and prosciutto doused in a creamy tomato sauce. The old school, tender vitello piccata is also a standout. You’re better off skipping dessert at most restaurants around the North End, but here, we refuse to leave without an order of the airy tiramisu and their housemade limoncello." - lala thaddeus, tanya edwards

Where to Eat in Boston’s North End

"Tucked away on the lesser-frequented North Street parallel to the notorious Hanover, Limoncello has quietly sprung onto the North End’s food scene as a must-eat destination perfect for date nights, family get-togethers, or the solo eater who finds solace in the company of a good meal. Limoncello excels at setting the ambiance of how Italians really eat: Start with some wine, their hyper-local Calabrian-style antipasto, then move onto the main attraction of “Rosette Al Montasio,” homemade pappardelle arranged like roses, cooked with prosciutto, cheese, tomato, and truffle. Of course, it all ends with a shot of homemade limoncello." - Nathan Tavares, Tommy Ranucci

Limoncello Review - Lower Nob Hill - San Francisco - The Infatuation

"At Limoncello in Lower Nob Hill, sausages hang over a loaded deli case, shoppers browse the aisles of shelves well-stocked with every Quadratini and San Pellegrino flavor, and friendly staff wrap up sandwiches from behind the counter. Those sandwiches are the main reason we return to this Italian deli as often as Adele gravitates to tear-jerking ballads. The fillings are classic Italian, from tissue-thin mortadella and hot coppa to eggplant parmesan and spicy marinara meatballs. We’re always pulled toward the Mafioso. Getting the colorful stunner stuffed with mortadella, prosciutto, bacon, and turkey, plus pepperoncinis that add a zippy tang is the best decision you’ll make today. Eat it on the sunny sidewalk tables, or take your sandwich to-go." - Julia Chen

Google
They hit all the marks!! Authentic food, authentic people. They are the real deal. I wish I was a regular! Food sourced for its quality, not price. Prices are normal but making you feel like family is above average. You have many options for quality Italian food in Boston, this group needs to be on the list of considerations.

Google
Amazing authentic Italian dishes. From lobster ravioli to meatballs, you cannot go wrong. Everything tasted so fresh and flavorful. They were very accommodating for my family with 3 little ones and the staff was friendly. My only complaint would be that it was a little pricey.

Google
Great North End Italian spot with really tasty classic dishes. Don't miss the meatballs, all the parms, and their Rosette pasta specialty. Service is great and runs the show with style. Some nice wine selections, good bread and bada bing, a great night out!

Julia Hill

Google
Staff was hustling but food was sub par. Had scallops and carpaccio apps - both needed acid and salt. Carpaccio had chunks of parm instead of shaved parm. Meatball was good. Veal piccata was downright bad. It looked like it was boiled - no flour, no sear, served with overcooked veg. I’d steer clear. Tables way too close together. Their interest is turning tables, not serving good Italian food.

Google
Great service from everybody. I ordered mamas meatball and the ravioli both were specials for the night. Food and atmosphere outstanding

Google
Bread at the start- 5 stars. Beef carpaccio- 3. Not a lot of flavor. Main dish- 3. My noodles were very overcooked/soggy to the point of tasting not freshly made and store bought. Sauce was good. Service was awesome. Very warm/friendly people, but had to keep asking my server for things. Tables are tightly packed so servers kept bumping into my back. Glad I came but will try elsewhere next time. $80 plus tip for one at lunch.

Google
We had a surprise birthday dinner and it was absolutely fabulous. The service was great. The food was even better. All 15 people loved everything. I can't say enough good things about Limoncello.

Anastasia Borisevich

Google
We ended up in Boston’s North End on a Sunday evening without a reservation. After checking several top-rated restaurants and finding long wait times, we chose Limoncello because it had open tables. The service was okay; the food lacked depth of flavor, and the prices felt above average for the experience. If you’re visiting the Italian district on a weekend, it’s definitely worth making a reservation at the place you truly want to try!

Yelp
Everything was great!!! I ordered the beef carpaccio and the rosette al montasio. It was delicious

Yelp
We went to Lemoncello's last night as our niece, & her husband, were taking us out to celabrate my husbands birthday. Although we hadn't been there in at least 7 years, Maurizio, Chico and other staff, recognized us, it was such a treat to be remembered and acknowledged. The food was exceptional! We had 4 different meals - Eggplant Rollatini, Veal Marsala, Chicken Picata, and the Code Special. Per usual, we all tasted each others and they were all great. Oh and Mama's Meatballs for the appitzer, never disappoints! Staff were friendly, and although they were very busy, they did not make us feel rushed. Always our favorite restaurant in the North End! Thank you, Robert & Sharon Nista

Yelp
I really enjoyed my experience! The complimentary bread and olives was a great start of our experience. Then the non alcoholic wine was delicious and made me feel like I was having the real deal. Then the best part was our entree-- Rosette Al Montasio. I've never had a pasta dish like this it was superb, it was so flavorful and filling! The service and ambiance was great.. your typical old school Italian restaurant vibe.

Yelp
Came here on a nice Friday night - the ambiance was lively and felt like a casual family place with the Italian mural and the framed pictures of people. They dropped a basket of good bread and olives to start the meal off. We had a few different servers, so sometimes there were repeat questions or gaps in service. We ordered Negronis and Limoncellos for drinks which were pretty balanced. For food we had the prosciutto and melon, mozzarella with tomatoes and cucumber, Mama's meatballs, the rosette, and fusilli ragu. The apps were simple but good, the burrata was creamy, the prosciutto freshly sliced, and the meatballs were good. The mains took a bit to come out and it was clear they'd been sitting out for a bit - they were lukewarm. The rosette was the star with good flavor and texture. Sadly the fusilli didn't quite hit because the ragu was almost cold. Presentation-wise most dishes looked like they'd been plated hastily. And everything is pricey these days, but it was bit more $ than expected. Overall it was still a solid meal. The extra treat was the two singers who walked around and performed a couple songs that fit the vibe - The Godfather and Andrea Bocelli. That was a lovely way to end the meal.

Yelp
Great family style and authentic feeling Italian place in the edge of the north end Food: Rosette 5/5: Maybe the best single dish I've had in the north end, it's their signature and was great Scallops 5/5: served in this great green sauce, only thing that could've maybe been better is the portion size Lobster ravioli 4/5: excellent staple Meatballs 3/5: was a little disappointed good but not great Service: Our waiter said he's been going since he was 9 yrs old and it showed. Great recommendations, friendly/ conversational, and overall great experience Ambiance: Note, the ambiance is more of a traditional and older Italian look inside more suitable for families. The food is good as mentioned but this isn't one of the more trendy places on Hanover st

Yelp
First impressions was that the staff was very friendly. The atmosphere was full of energy but not overwhelming. Being in the North End there was all sorts of fun things, one being, there was also someone who came by to sing some Italian songs and it really engaged the whole crowd. The prosciutto and melon appetizer, along with the meatballs was a great start. The house cabernet and house Pinot was a good touch as well. The black ink squid pasta looked amazing and the Rosetta Al Montasio is super well known and tasted well balanced with the prosciutto truffle and cream sauce. Lastly, the Limoncello drink was a nice dessert finisher. Pretty sweet with lemon sour flavor almost like the lemon candy, not usually my style of drink but it still tasted good. Parking here is super rough though and I recommend walking from the downtown area. On a nice day it's a nice walk through government center and into the North End. Highly recommend

Yelp
Excellent food, atmosphere and service. Love the patio seating and the staff was very knowledgeable and helpful.

Yelp
Food was very good, the perfect evening on the north end. Service was great and we were able to call in a few hours before and still get a reservation. Definitely would go back.

Yelp
The food was absolutely delicious, and our waiter couldn't have been more attentive. The ambiance transported us straight to Little Italy--so much so that I half expected Michael Corleone to walk through the door. The magic peaked when a gentleman outside began playing The Godfather theme on his accordion. It was unforgettable.

Yelp
Would you care for some authentic Italian meals in an authentic Italian ambiance? This was suggested and I've heard of this place through word of mouth. There are many Italian options in and around Boston and it doesn't necessarily have to be in Little Italy. Yet I need to check off so many to say I've tried them all. I would most definitely come back to Ristorante Limoncello. There were three of us and as soon as we arrived, we were greeted and welcomed. What was consistent was each of our meals all had the same tomato cream sauce. Our friendly server suggested their most sold dish which was the Rosette Al Montasio Ed Olio Di Tartufo. This was so delicious and excellent. One friend was in the mood for squid ink fettuccine, and another one was in the mood for lobster ravioli. Recommended dish would also go to Lobster Ravioli! To share, we ordered Capresse, and an order of three meatballs after noticing multiple tables were sharing with each other. So sorry as I cannot remember the name of our dessert, but it contained almond. If anyone reading this could drop me a comment with its name, or I'll have to go back again the next time I'm in Boston again. It Was Tasty! Definitely my new go to when in the North End. Highly Higly Recommended Ristorante! Price 5/5 Food 5/5 Service 5/5 Atmosphere 5/5

Yelp
Stopped by again this week for a business dinner. Love the small town Italian restaurant feel. The servers are friendly and are very attentive. The food is fresh and delicious. Second time around was such as goood as the first time. If your at the north end stop by.

Yelp
It's been a while since we last dined here and happy to find that the service, ambiance, and food is still good. The dishes, though, are not quite as outstanding as we remembered, but still satisfying nevertheless. We shared antipasti of their signature scallops which were fresh and succulent, though the lemony sauce was a tad on the sweet side; and the carpaccio. We then had pastas of the risotto (with baby shrimp and asparagus), spaghetti pomodoro, and squid ink fettuccini with lobster - these were all good with the risotto standing out. The squid ink pasta was very good but the spaghetti pomodoro was a bit on the acidic side. I had their vitello piccata which was tasty but again a tad bit too acidic for my taste. For dessert we had the tiramisu and almond cake - these were very good and satisfyingly decadent. All in all, a good tasty experience!
google avatar

Yelp
Five stars for the super cute patio, the stuffed pork chop, the eggplant and the meatballs. And the montepulciano was pretty good. Loved our server too.
google avatar

David L.

Yelp
Have to say pretty disappointed with the food unfortunately. Meatballs as an appetizer were the best thing I had all night. Those were good, delicate, tender and well seasoned. But everything else was pretty mediocre at best. Their supposed special Rotelle which was pushed hard by the waiter was basically 3 parpadelle noodles rolled up with some prosciutto in a cream truffle sauce. Overall not really that special at all and certainly not worth $34. My wife had the chicken picatta and I'm not exaggerating when I say it tasted like a microwave low calorie meal. It came with vegetables and it was literally out of a freezer bag. Brocolli, baby carrots and flaccid green beans. Honestly...can you not just saute some fresh veg? Really disappointing.

Yelp
Food over priced, average Italian. Arrived with no reservations at 4:30pm. No one in the restaurant. Owner sat is next to the kitchen in the back corner. He could have given us any table since no one showed up by the time we were done. Server was nice.

Yelp
Excellent Italian restaurant in the North End. Definitely one of my favorites. They have a nice front patio and the inside is very cozy. You really can't go wrong with any one of their pastas but I particularly enjoy the Rosette with their homemade wide noodles. The restaurant is slightly upscale (but not too fancy) and on the pricier side. Though the food quality warrants the price in my opinion. Staff was attentive and happy to provide recommendations. Hope to return for another satiating Italian meal!
google avatar

Srinithi R.

Yelp
I came here after hearing good reviews from my classmates. The restaurant is small and cozy but can still seat a lot of people. I got the limoncello spritz which was very good and strong. I also shared two pasta dishes. One was the shrimp scampi and the other one was a type of bolognese with lamb and veal. Everything was really good but I really enjoyed the shrimp scampi. I will come here again to try the other pasta dishes. The staff were friendly and we got our dishes really quick.

Yelp
This is my favorite restaurant in north end. Everything on the menu is delicious. I'm obsessed with the meatballs- must try! The service is always great. You do have to call for reservations vs booking online but it isn't too hard to book. Prices are all extremely reasonable especially for the location and quality!
google avatar

Dee C.

Yelp
The food was very good, like eating from your grandmother's kitchen. It's a big restaurant, but lots of seating so it can look and feel crowded. The meatballs are huge and so soft and delicious. Chicken parm as well. Great staff. Parking is horrible.
google avatar

Tushar B.

Yelp
My team came here during the week for lunch, and it was easy to get a table for six. There are a lot of bigger tables so it is definitely a good place if you would like to have a big group lunch or dinner. We started with the burrata and meatballs (their signature dish), and both were solid choices. The meatballs were huge--each one big enough to split between two people--and tasted excellent. For my main, I ordered the chicken parm, as did one of my co-workers, but unfortunately, we were both disappointed. The chicken was dry and lacked flavor overall. That said, the seafood pasta dishes others ordered at the table were a hit--everyone seemed to really enjoy them. I'd definitely come back again but would opt for a seafood pasta next time instead of the chicken parm. And without a doubt, I'd order the meatballs again--they're worth the trip!
google avatar

Rob F.

Yelp
Outstanding food. Start with the meatballs, bread and a glass of Chianti. Then order the Rossette. Just do it! The wait staff are friendly and efficient. Plus the owner and his brother are all business and customer service is top-notch. This is in the North End with plenty of choices. Come here as it has a very nice atmosphere. Read what I wrote above.
google avatar

Jean O.

Yelp
I returned to this restaurant because their meatballs were so delicious 6 years ago! And sure they still are. They open at noon but got there early so they seated me and enjoyed the ambiance and just people watched until they were ready to take my order. As usual, I over ordered For 1 person Meatballs House salad Jumbo shrimp with limoncello pasta I couldn't finish them all but I had fun getting a taste of what was 6 years ago. Delicious! Whenever you're in Boston in the North end area, this restaurant is a must try!
google avatar

Dao T.

Yelp
Not really sure what the hype is about. It's a cute, quaint spot and our waitress was great--super attentive and friendly. But the food didn't live up to expectations. I ordered the chicken piccata and was surprised to see it served over a bed of vegetables, which wasn't mentioned. The sauce was overly lemony, and the chicken was a bit rubbery. I also tried a bite of my friend's cheese ravioli, and unfortunately, that too was pretty underwhelming. Overall, the experience was just okay--nothing special.
google avatar

Kirsten B.

Yelp
Limoncello is probably my favorite Italian place in the north end. They are so unbelievably friendly and always do their best to accommodate my friends and I when we come in. Would recommend this place to literally anyone the atmosphere is amazing. I always get the Rosette Al Montasio Ed Olio Di Tartufo and it's top tier
google avatar

Mandi B.

Yelp
We walked in on a Saturday night with no reservation , got a window seat and had a wonderful Italian meal! I got the home made meatballs, my husband had clams in white sauce and the kids had noodles. The staff was helpful and accommodating and the ambiance was quaint and a perfect family friendly space !
google avatar

Tinyee H.

Yelp
Came here on reco from a friend for dinner on a Saturday night. Came in around 7:45pm; it was packed. Put our name down and the host said to come back at 8:15. Visited a souvenir shop and walked around the block. Back at 8:14, we got a table, not the best (by kitchen door), but still. Waiters had energy! Sabino (sp?) was a great host. We ordered the carpaccio di manzo (beef) to start, which was 4 paper thinly sliced beef with a bed of arugula dressed with lemon and evoo. Came out quick. Then the wait 25-30 min for entrées. The kitchen was slow. We got the lasagna (so-so), fusili with lamb ragu (barely any meat, just pasta and red sauce), haddock, which tasted the best, with capers but with sad veges, and I got the Rosette Al Montasio Ed Olio Di Tartufo, which was wide noodles rolled with prosciutto and mushrooms, topped with truffle oil (decent). The worse was the plating; they rushed to get the food out without considering this and it was messy. Got a tiramisu, tasty but didn't stand out. Limoncello - strong, served from a plastic jug of Everclear. Sambino was the best part of the evening: good conversations, stories, and nice guy.

Yelp
Visited Limoncello on a recent trip to Boston and had one of the weirder dining experiences I've had in a while. The weather at the time was beautiful so we were offered seats outside...little did we know that meant in a back area that was very secluded from the actual restaurant. It was cute enough but we were the only ones seated and when another party came, they were seated right next to us at a table less than two feet away. It was as if they were expecting a huge rush but instead just forced us to listen to another couple's conversation. The menu was startlingly expensive and there is a strict "no splitting" rule displayed. I ordered the meatballs and my partner had a shrimp pasta that had to be sent back because the shrimp were too tough to eat and the pasta was cold. The meatballs were fantastic but outside of that, the experience was lackluster.
google avatar

Ruth B.

Yelp
I'd give this 10 stars if I could! The best Italian pasta I've had anywhere ever! The star of the show was Rosette Al Montasio Ed Olio Di Tartufo. Delicate, balanced, flavorful; well, just plain incredible. The staff was great too, but I'm still thinking about the wonderful pasta. We also had the meatball appetizer and wow those were terrific also! I'm already looking forward to my next visit!!
google avatar

Gabby S.

Yelp
True Italian restaurant in North end. Everyone spoke Italian and the menu was full of amazing authentic dishes! As with any restaurant in the north end, the tables are tight together, but that was expected. We still had a pleasant time and the food was very good. The chicken parmigiana was our favorite, the sauce was fantastic. The chicken picatta was also good, the lemon white wine sauce was good but it needed some more seasoning on the chicken. We also ordered mozzarella and tomatoes to start and it was so fresh! The service was decent, the server wasn't overly friendly but also wasn't rude. We would definitely go back!

Yelp
August 7 my friends and I were visiting Boston. We'd just completed a tour and were looking for a place for a nice lunch before our next scheduled activity. We happened upon Limoncello. The menu looked nice so we stopped. The weather was nice so we asked to sit on the patio, a beautiful outdoor space. The wait staff acknowledged our table and brought menus and water for all. There was one table finishing up their dining when we were seated and another table was seated after us. Once we placed our order that wait began. It's was over an hour for us to get a caprese salad, pasta and a stuffed chicken dish. The other table seated after ours took over an hour to get their food, too, and were served ahead of us. We guessed the staff knew the wait was unacceptably long and they brought us a complimentary tiramisu. Unfortunately, only one in our party could eat the tiramisu due to allergies or dietary restrictions. Honestly, the food was delicious but the time and service lacked greatly. Were I a Boston local I don't believe this would be a place I would be patronizing.

J M.

Yelp
Outstanding Italian restaurant that feels like you have teleported to Italy! Ambiance, music, decor, food, wine and above-all the service were superb!!!!

Peter L.

Yelp
Coming from Jersey this is just above a pizza joint. Much better Italian in Jersey. Service was good. Famous meatballs were just eh and the $25 antipasto plate was a joke. Owner sat us by kitchen against the wall next to a pillar. Restaurant completely empty. Do not recommend
google avatar

Michelle C.

Yelp
There were many restaurants in the area to enjoy from but this one caught my eye the most due to the reviews and the fact that they had a patio in the back to enjoy the nice weather. We were seated fairly quickly and our server came over to take our order and explained the specials of the day. She was super friendly and charismatic. We ordered the meatballs since she said that's what the restaurant was known for as our appetizer and I ordered a limoncello spritz since they only had spritz, wine and beer as options. It was very tasty but a bit too strong. The meatballs were absolutely delicious, they were moist inside as soon as you cut your fork through them and the marina sauce they came in wasn't overpowering. I ordered their white clam pasta as my entree and also tasted my sisters plate which was a huge variety of seafood in a red broth. My pasta dish was light and the clams were cooked to perfection; I probably would have liked a bit more garlic and white sauce in the pasta since it seemed a bit dry but overall fantastic flavor. My sister's dish was absolutely delicious; the lobster dipped in the broth was perfection and it just came with a huge amount of seafood. The broth was definitely the star in that meal, at one point all I was doing was sipping on the broth. Highly recommend !
google avatar

Sandra D.

Yelp
Good but a bit overpriced. Had the lobster ravioli and had large chunks of lobster which was wonderful but swimming in a bit too much sauce. Lasagna was acceptable. Quaint ambience. Service was good.

Yelp
Visiting Boston for a couple of days and made it over to North End. We were debating coming here or trying another popular spot in the area. We decided to try Limoncello because it was close to where we were. At first glance, the inside of the restaurant looked and felt very nice. There was no wait and lots of available tables. Once we got seated, we ordered three pastas including the chicken parm so we can try a couple of different options. Our food came out pretty fast, however we did think our food and the service here were just okay.
google avatar

Sydney M.

Yelp
I went to Limencello for brunch with my family to celebrate my graduation on Saturday and I thought it was pretty good. Being in the North End, it's hard to find parking and the restaurant is pretty cramped. Our server Jake was awesome and knowledgeable about the menu and specials. I had the five cheese ravioli which was delicious. My boyfriend had the shrimp scampi, which he said was very good, but it only came with four shrimp. The squid ink pasta was AMAZING, and others at the table enjoyed their dishes. They don't have a full bar but they do have desserts, which were ok but nothing to come back for. Overall I would give it 4/5 stars.

Gary R.

Yelp
Dined here from out of town. Recommended by another restaurant owner. Food was outstanding and service impeccable. Some what pro y but great experience. all of our meals were outstanding.

Yelp
WE LOVE LIMONCELLO!!! The food is AMAZING! You can get anything on the menu - specials, the standards....I don't care for salad in general, but they have a Caesar salad - it's incredible! Our family favorite dish? Rosette Al Montasio Ed Olio Di Tartufo It's worth 100 dollars or more but they sell it for less than that so it's a bargain! The service is great - the waiters and waitresses all have a sense of humor and are extremely friendly and welcoming. The restaurant is in a gorgeous neighborhood with amazing people and families. If you're Italian - they speak the language all around the area and in the restaurant - it's a beautiful language to hear! In this visit, we had two male singers singing 2-4 songs in English and Italian - it was a major highlight of the night! 6 stars!

Arlene A.

Yelp
Well, this is an average Italian restaurant and in a very hot setting. Not sure what the hype is with this restaurant but seemed fairly average food to me. There appears to be no air conditioning. Service was better than the food.

Yassna K.

Yelp
My best friend and I dined here, and were appalled by the service we received. The staff made microaggressive comments about her race, and refused to provide any accommodations to her being vegetarian. The experience left her feeling extremely uncomfortable and unwelcome. I would never return to this restaurant, and advise other people of color to avoid it.
google avatar

Francisca B.

Yelp
The food were fantastic especially the black squid ink fettuccine with lobster. Not many Italian restaurant served this pasta so when I found out limoncello ristorante had it, I must try! Not to mention the portion was pretty big. The service was also fast and friendly. The back patio is a plus especially when the weather is nice.

Yelp
As we traveled we stumbled on this welcoming amazing restaurant. We arrived and did not have a reservation (make one!) and they scrambled to fit us in and are we soooo lucky they did. I didn't want to leave, but we were so full and couldn't fit another bite in!
google avatar

Tina C.

Yelp
The place was packed on a Friday evening when we went as a party of five, but the owner was so gracious as to make a table for us. The atmosphere felt very much like a family business or at least a close-knit community. I ordered a pasta with shrimp and creamy tomato sauce. It was delicious; one of the best pastas I have ever had! The shrimp was so large and fresh as well.

Kristin W.

Yelp
Our server acted like it was an imposition to ask questions. Our appetizers were served with our entrees following about five minutes behind them. My husband got food poisoning from the lobster dish he ate.

Anne L.

Yelp
This place has gone from my favorite restaurant in the North End to a place that I might not return. I know May is busy with graduations, but the service felt extremely rushed being asked 7 times after being seated for 15 minutes if we were ready to order. We were pushed into a 4pm dinner reservation when calling to make the reservation for a 49th anniversary but come to find out dinner service and specials do not begin until 5pm. We order the meatballs that are "off menu" and assumed they would be around the same price as all other appetizers (all under $19). The meatballs are delicious but 3 meatballs are not worth the $25 charge. One of my favorite dishes is the Rosette- the house special and unique dish. It was the only dish that resembled previous orders over the last 8 years. The rack of lamb at $47 ordered at medium came out and looked miniature, charred and well done. We are not people who normally send things back but they were inedible. When they came out for a second time, there were six teeny, tiny lamb chops - almost resembling a passed appetizer at a catered event vs. a dinner. The good here really doesn't outweigh the bad. And we've been loyal diners of this establishment to celebrate small and large special occasions. With so many other choices in the North End- I'd say try somewhere else for a while in hopes Limoncello returns to its original glory and its senses.

Lydia M.

Yelp
First time visiting Boston and we were excited to experience authentic Italian food, but unfortunately this place was disappointing. We were served bread, olives, and cheese to start, but the cheese and the spoon appeared used -- definitely not clean. When our entrees arrived, both dishes were cold, so we had to send them back to be reheated. We spent over $100 for two people, but it was absolutely not worth it. The overall experience felt rushed and unspecial. Save your money and try a different spot. I'm sure there are better options in the North End.

What a wonderful place and one of the best meals of our lives. We are from a small town in the Midwest. We have nothing like this anywhere near us. We walked in, told our waiter we had never eaten anything like this. He said, " let me feed you." He asked what we liked. We trusted him and it was magnificent. We were treated like family. If we ever come back to Boston. We will rush back to Lemoncello. Thanks Chico and company for a great meal and experience.

Yelp
A-MAZING dinner at Limoncello's! This restaurant was located in a lovely, quaint seaside historic area near Paul Revere's home. With no wait we were seated right away by attentive waiters filling water glasses and bringing bread and assorted olives. I ordered shrimp w/ vodka sauce; the shrimp were large & perfectly cooked and pasta homemade. Everything was delicious and the atmosphere elegant Italian. Would 100% dine here again! Thank you Limoncello for a wonderful visit!

Yelp
The food was great, they give large portions and it tasted delicious! The ambience is nice and calm during the later hours (we went when it was not very busy). The service was good up until it was time to pay the bill. I was very disappointed because our waiter charged us for 4 extra glasses of wine when we only had ordered 2 total. This resulted in our bill going from $87 to $173. The restaurant is a bit old fashioned so the check comes on a paper which is written on so you cannot really read it unless you look very closely at what is written in. Had we not looked and asked what we were charged for we would have been charged 2x our meal price and all we were told is "my bad, I must've charged a few extra drinks". Look closely at your bill slip because this seemed customary for people who do not usually read what they are being charged for due to the waiter's reaction.
