Yelp
I have to start by saying, I HATE to do this. We love this place. It has been "our spot" for dates, special occasions and anytime we just want a great night out for the last year. I also want to say the the service is INCREDIBLE. WE HAVE NEVER had a bad experience here in terms of the servers/wait staff. We both work in the industry and that being said... really appreciate what they do. You can tell the staff really care and they know what they are doing.
The one star is a combo of the food and management. We came here (per usual) for a celebration. My girlfriend's birthday. She also just recovered from a surgery... it was our first time out after and it was a big deal. We had an amazing time. Service was fantastic as always... I wanted pasta with chicken and they didn't have a pasta dish with chicken (on the menu that I saw) and I asked if they could add grilled chicken. They said yes. Food came. The pasta and sauce were unbelievable (as always). The chicken was... underwhelming. I remember thinking, "man, this isn't that great.." but also, whatever. I'm enjoying myself and MOST importantly, my gf was enjoying herself. That's all that mattered to me. We finished, paid, tipped 40% because that's how we roll in the business... and again... the staff, always deserves it. An hour later, literally, I am violently sick. Like. Sick. Sick. Sick. After I was able to get up off the bathroom floor the next day, my gf said she was going to call. Not necessarily to ask for money back or anything like that because again, we aren't those people. We primarily called because we were yes, disappointed. Yes, I spent alot of money, and I would spend it again had I not gotten food poisoning. But because, we knew (as we all know), we you get food poisoning. You just know. We wanted to tell them because, God forbid I wasn't the only one? Literally, my first concern wasn't even the money or myself but that there could be a potential risk outbreak. We shared everything except the chicken. The manager seemed flippant. Pulled the ol "next time you come in, ask for Me" thing. Problem is... we all know, two things...
1. Probably won't be returning
2. If we did, we certainly it wouldn't ask to talk to the manager and be like "hi, I got sick awhile back and you said you would do something for us when we came back"
Hard no.
The right thing to do, the professional thing to do, the thing to do to make sure we return is say ...
"Let me take care of your tab for you"
"I am so sorry"
Something.
I give alot of grace but I can say, we will not return.
I manage a casual gastro pub, and if someone calls and has a bad experience, we literally send them a gift card. We didn't even get that. Again, it's not about the money but, it's the principal. This level of dining and the level of service the staff provides, the management and owner(s) need to do better.
It's unfortunate that the owner/management didn't take this more seriously. We didn't feel taken seriously or that they cared that we even return in the future
Because of that, this review is warranted. Do better.
