The 26 Best Restaurants In Mumbai

"For the best traditional Chinese food in Mumbai, cross the gaudily lit footbridge spanning a koi pond inside Ling’s Pavilion, the city’s oldest Chinese restaurant. On the other side is the two-level dining room with high-backed chairs flanking tables, each stacked with hard-bound menus that are as large and heavy as ledgers. This Colaba institution has looked the same throughout its 30-odd years—and so has the food—and we’re eternally thankful for its unchanging steadiness. We always go big when we’re here, so plan on over ordering. Get the hefty chunks of corn curd, silky steamed prawn wontons tossed in burnt garlic bits, spareribs in spicy black bean sauce, and Ling’s utterly fragrant claypot rice with mushrooms. Ask your server about the daily off-menu specials and order them in addition to the heavy hitters. " - roshni bajaj sanghvi

The 38 Best Restaurants in Mumbai, India - Eater

"Ling’s Pavilion, created by the owners of Mumbai’s iconic (now shut) Nanking, is one of the oldest Chinese restaurants in the city. The menu is vast, the servers have been around for decades, and Baba Ling, the owner of the establishment, will guide you through the specials with a smile. The steamed chicken wontons are a must order, as are the roast pork with shiitake mushrooms and the hakka noodles. The portions are large, so bring a big group of friends to attack the menu." - Sumedh Natu

We went there today for lunch on recommendation of our niece. On a weekday it was almost empty when we got there. Later some more patrons joined. It is beautifully decorated and seating is comfortable. The staff is polite, friendly and attentive. The menu is quite exhaustive. We chose boiled pork dumplings, roasted duck and pan fried noodles. Each item was delicious and portions were reasonably sized. Will recommend and visit again.

A Timeless Chinese Culinary Gem in Colaba – Ling's Pavilion Nestled in the heart of Colaba, Ling's Pavilion is a two-storied restaurant that beautifully carries forward a legacy that began with the iconic Nanking by Mr. Ling in the 90s. After his passing, Baba Ling and Nini Ling opened what is now one of Mumbai’s oldest and most beloved Chinese restaurants. From the moment you step in, the Asian-inspired ambiance and cozy seating transport you to a different world. The menu is impressively extensive, offering authentic Chinese flavors that are rich, fresh, and consistently delicious. Started my meal with my go-to Chinese tea – so soothing! They also serve some refreshing mocktails and have a good alcohol selection too. Here are my absolute favorites from the spread: Crab Sweet Corn Soup Pan-Fried Noodles Bean Curd Chicken Sumai – a must-try! The portions are generous, and the staff is always warm and attentive. Though we skipped desserts this time, I’ve heard great things about them! If you're a fan of real, nostalgic Chinese food in Mumbai – Ling’s Pavilion is a must-visit!

I came here because I’d started to get a sore stomach from eating Indian cuisine non-stop for 3 weeks and this went down a treat! I had the steamed pork buns and mandarin chicken (ginger flavoured) and loved it. The staff were super friendly and attentive and I enjoyed my time. The serving sizes were also massive and well worth the money 😊

please note the prices on zomato are way different it is more expensive in the restaurant. loved the roasted pork and pan fried noodles with pork they were my favourites . the sticky rice, mongolian chicken and platter were also good. the place was so pretty the sky had blinking lights and they had a cute little bridge with water below and really cool designs and lighting.

If you’re in the mood for some good old Chinese in South Mumbai Lings is a good option… It’s still great ambience and good customer service like always … I was not impressed with the food as much as the previous times I’ve visited .. Chicken man Chao soup was great. I enjoyed the two appetizers, however, was not impressed with the main course too much. Still a good restaurant with great service and good quality food in general …

Ling’s is a childhood favorite for many locals and I get why— the taste retains time and the dishes are always humongous in portions and full of flavour. Always ask for the staff’s recommendations. Great little place for brunches and gatherings.

Visiting from the U.S. Been here twice in three weeks - once for lunch and the other for dinner. Exceptional food, service and ambiance. Highly recommend this fusion restaurant!

Giving the Chinese traditional feeling once you enter the restaurant Service is giving the personal touch to collect and change plates and bowls for dishes for our taste buds to not mix up. Food is great, hard to find Chinese restaurants and the taste brings back the China old town feel. Chinese living in india will surely love it while they miss home cooked food. Very decent Chinese asian food served. Totally worth my taste buds. Good job. Keep it up
