The Newest Restaurants In Chicago

"Lakeview’s Little Evette’s is getting an overhaul. By day, expect a wine shop. By night, it will host a six-month-long (maybe longer) pop-up featuring late-night food from chefs who worked at Kimski and Momotaro. You can finally fulfill your dream of eating Malört grilled cheese, beet tartare, and matcha deviled eggs with uni and ants at 1am." - john ringor, veda kilaru

Chicago Restaurants and Bars With Excellent Booze-Free Beverages

"A defiant late-night pop-up from industry veteran Rafa Esparza and former Kimski sous chef Anthony Baier, FAFO (read: fuck around and find out) is an ambitious and playful addition to Lakeview. Esparza, who doesn’t drink alcohol, understands the importance of strong booze-free beverage choices and applying unusual approaches, and he’s reverse-engineered a version Jeppson’s Malört with herbal teas from Rare Tea Cellar." - Ashok Selvam, Naomi Waxman

Evette's Review - Lincoln Park - Chicago - The Infatuation

"Evette’s is a counter-service Lebanese-Mexican cafe in Lincoln Park that could be somewhere in the Sonoran Desert. This casual restaurant is all geometric floors and brightly painted brick, and when the sun beams through the windows, sitting at the counter can feel like it’s 100 degrees. The short menu is solid—there are a handful of options like bowls and wraps, but the standouts are any dishes involving the smoky chicken shawarma, the not-too-oily, well-spiced falafel, or the fantastic tacos on soft little pita-tortillas stuffed with halloumi or chicken arabes. Most people will get their food to go, but it’s worth the risk of sunburn to dine-in. Get the baklava ice cream to cool off. " - Veda Kilaru

Great spot for a casual meal. Some very solid options and the service is very friendly. Interior is lovely and bright. There looks to be plenty more great things to explore for next time as well. My favorite was the chicken flakey wrap that we got. Delicious combination of flavors on a paratha style pita, which are always delicious. Super garlic feta fries are very tasty! If you're looking for some fries, these are a great option. The tacos were good, but not incredible. They're on the simpler side, and I'd personally order other things next time. Note they do have a little bit of a kick.

What a HUGE add for the neighborhood. Flavors here are incredible, everything we’ve tried has been a smash hit. Love the Super Garlic Feta Fries and Pita Nachos. Our favorite is the Flaky Lamb Wrap.. so good.

really closer to a 4.5 than a 4. decided to drop in here for a casual early lunch today after seeing the haloumi tacos called out in a local Chicago magazine. i’m glad we did, the food was pretty tasty and the menu was not fussy and simple. very nice service as well. highlights: feta garlic fries and the haloumi tacos looking forward to trying some other stuff on the menu.

What is even happening here. The feta fries are one of the tastiest things I've ever eaten. My shawarma wrap was way too delicious for a "lunch spot". Absolutely incredible food for a fantastic price. Go here now.

Everything was really yummy, tried the chicken flaky wrap since they don’t have the steak one anymore, as well as the Halloumi flaky wrap. Super filling!

What a disappointment! We’ve been to the Lincoln Park location which has amazing food but this was like a different restaurant. The shawarma fries were skimp and the chicken wrap was bland to the point my wife didn’t finish it. The ambiance was rough. The temperature was a bit high and the music and kitchen were very loud. The food came bagged without the two wraps being labeled. Won’t be back.

Been coming here for a while now, and Evette’s is well deserving of 5 stars!! The flaky wraps are a fav of ours, it’s a great blend of flavors. Adrian provided great service and even better food 👍🏽

Stopped in for lunch and had the chorizo egg scramble in a flaky pita and it was phenomenal. Great flavors. Cute little spot with quick and friendly service. Will be back!
