"With a following as massive as its space is tiny, this boutique-chic shop in LoDo’s Sugar Cube building offers a farm-to-cup experience in the form of all the classic showcases for house roasts — cold brews, cortados, Americanos, and so on — though it also whips up seasonal delights like the Piña Collided with espresso, pineapple, and coconut. (A second location downtown and a third in LoHi share its sleek aesthetic.)" - Ruth Tobias, Eater Staff

"“Little” is an understatement; Little Owl Coffee in LoDo has just enough room for a barista counter, a retail cooler, merchandise shelving, and 10 or so stools—that’s it and that’s all. But it sure is cute, with a wood-planked floor and a low-slung ceiling; gleaming white-on-white and glass-on-glass from the marble back wall to the espresso machine; and picture windows overlooking an equally small covered patio. The drinks here, made from four house roasts are standard bearers, with the perfect ratio of coffee to foam, ensuring that you can taste the beans through the milk (or the house-made almond milk)." - Ruth Tobias

Google
The best latte I had in Denver. The first sip absolutely made my morning. No-frills, quality espresso. Also love the owl logo. Wish they had T-shirts available for purchase, but they had just ran out of them. I'll definitely be back here the next time I'm in Denver for my coffee fix. 🦉

Google
Great coffee served by incredibly friendly staff in a modern environment. This was the best coffee I’ve had yet in Denver and will definitely be back!

Google
What an awesome hidden gem! I stumbled across this coffee shop so I decided to go here. The place was small, although it was clean, and has great donuts and drinks! The hot chocolate was absolutely fantastic and the donuts were so good. Overall, if you love donuts and coffee, go here.

Lupita Smith

Google
I got the cherry blossom latte and my husband got the cereal latte and I loved the atmosphere and service! Their coffee was really delicious!

Let's Eat Houston

Google
Incredible espresso coffee drinks and great selection of single origin beans. Pastries are good too. The baristas were very nice and explained the menu well - I could tell they were familiar with the coffee they were serving and gave great recommendations based on our preferences. Definitely a great spot to check out if you're in the area!

Google
The Cortado and Matcha latte are amazing! They had a long line but the drinks were served very fast and professionally prepared. It only took 2 minutes after we ordered to receive them.

Google
Very cute and cozy cafe with delicious coffee and pastries. Was visiting from out of state and would love to come back. Door is kind of hard to find from the street

Google
We arrived to Colorado at 730a and made our way over to Denver. We walked around and came upon this nice little spot. Highly recommend it. Everyone working was friendly. It's a cute space with great music. The seasonal menu is creative and surprising. They also have a regular menu with all the staples, pastry, a cooler of other drinks, bags of coffee and swag.

Yelp
Cute small coffee bar in the lobby of a corporate building. Only open during weekdays. Service was fast. Latte art was solid and flavors were good. The PB&J cappuccino didn't have too much peanut butter flavor but the freeze dried raspberry powder added a nice aroma and flavor. It was a bit pricey for the size.

Steph L.

Yelp
Food - 4/5 Ordered an ice vanilla latte and it was pretty solid. I can't say that there was anything super memorable about it, but overall it was good Service - 4/5 Friendly staff and pretty quick at getting drinks out Ambience - 4/5 The space is really small. It was busy so I really didn't know where to hangout that wouldn't be blocking some kind of entrance/exit or make someone else feel like I was hovering over them

Yelp
I love cute coffee shops... My guy turned me into a addict... he said nooo to SBX... he assured that I will love this place 10x over. First off the pastries... all of my rigorous workouts ... went out the window... The banana fritters!! Mannn!! The vanilla lattes! And 3 days later I had a london fog!! Just take all my money little owl!! Great Service!! S\O to Finn for making my awesome latte, and a forever customer!

Jessie A.

Yelp
The interior was so cute and the coffee was decent, however the breakfast burritos were not very good - my three kids (young adults) could only eat half and tossed the rest. Bacon was fatty and burrito very unseasoned. Didn't come with salsa (we ordered to go). They liked the chocolate croissant though.

Danny W.

Yelp
I had a London fog latte for the first time and it was life changing. This tea latte was so delicious and smooth and I wish I could drink another one today, but I was visiting Little Owl Coffee on vacation. If you love coffee I highly recommend this cafe. The is service was very efficient and this coffee shop had a cool hipster vibe. 5 stars!

Lawrence K.

Yelp
Got a dirty matcha latte w/ vanilla syrup & a hot cocoa. Matcha latte was good, but nothing mind blowing. Bf's hot cocoa was also pretty standard. Decor is simple, elegant, and beautiful. The barista (far left in photo) was nice, super patient, and knowledgeable!

Emma B.

Yelp
Nice coffee, a little expensive. Not many pastries left on a Sunday mid morning. Looks like more of a place to dine in and enjoy your coffee than take it to-go.

KoKo S.

Yelp
Nice ambiance and good service. I thought drinks were solid. It's less sweet than other coffee shops but tastes fresh.

Rachael M.

Yelp
Lytle Al is our favorite coffee spot in the Highlands especially after a morning of yoga. It is such a relaxing calm place to get a quick latte. They have amazing seasonal flavors, but I usually stick to a classic oat milk latte, and it never disappoints. The service is also great and quick.

Luba K.

Yelp
Visiting Denver for the first time, it was a mission of mine to try as many local coffeeshops as possible. I hit about 10 and this was the top one for me. I loved the assortment of pastries they had - pro tip: come early enough not to miss these. We got an 1) iced and 2) hot oat milk latte, 3) the ham & cheese croissant, and 4) almond croissant. All were fantastic and extra delicious! We walked to the coffee shop, sat in the sun enjoying it so much, then kept walking and exploring the beautiful city of Denver. The staff was super friendly and inviting. Heads up the bathroom is in the office building next to it. Can't wait to come back!

Sydney B.

Yelp
Service is impeccable. The ambiance is beautiful. The food they get from reunion bakery and pandemic donuts is fire!!

Yelp
Hey, coffee enthusiasts! I've got the scoop on a java joint that'll have you perked up and ready to conquer the world. I was visiting Denver and needed a pick-me-up. Now let's dig into the cup of chai. Let's talk about my liquid companion for the day--the iced chai latte. Now, this ain't your run-of-the-mill iced chai. Oh no, it's different, but in a good way. I took a sip, and my taste buds were like, "Whoa, hold up! What's going on here?" It had a unique twist that added a little extra oomph to my chai game. That chai left an aftertaste that I didn't mind but would like less of. Nonetheless, the twist on this chai was addictive. Maybe I would get used to the taste after a few more rounds. Now, let's dive into the vibes, baby! Little Owl Coffee knows how to set the stage for a chill coffee rendezvous. Picture this: a coffee shop connected to a lobby where you can vibe, chill, and sink into the comfiest sofas on this side of the town. It's like they took all the cozy vibes in the universe and infused them into their space. The ambiance is fire, my friends, with an aesthetic on point and vibes that make you want to stay forever. So minimally appealing, with the smell of fresh grounds passing by touching the tip of your nostril hairs. Speaking of chill, the baristas at Little Owl Coffee were as cool as a cucumber. Though there seemed to be a new worker on the scene, they still knew how to sling those java jolts with finesse. Maybe that's why my chai took a slightly different path--it's all part of the adventure, right? As a first-timer, I'll take it with a grain of salt and appreciate the unique experience. The flavors were there, the caffeine kick was on point, and the overall experience left me wanting more. Little Owl Coffee knows how to deliver a cup of liquid joy that'll keep you coming back for more. In a world full of average coffee joints, Little Owl Coffee is a breath of fresh air with a side of caffeine. Embrace the unexpected, soak up the vibes, and let Little Owl Coffee show you a new world of liquid nirvana. Cheers, my fellow caffeine enthusiasts!

James B.

Yelp
Small shop but very cute ambiance. The workers were very friendly and quick. The code was very good. I suggest an iced Cereal N' latte if available. The Strawberry matcha was okay, pretty much just tasted like straight matcha. The only thing I wish they had was frothier to make a flavored foam topping. Overall very good coffee and would go back again.

Amy G.

Yelp
Love this cafe! Perfect for sitting outside and working in the shade. There is not much indoor seating so keep that in mind. However it is dog friendly. We got iced green tea and drip coffee and both were great. They also sell awesome coffee beans if you want to make some at home. You get a free drip coffee or cold brew if you buy beans, so keep that in mind!

Jerry O.

Yelp
Such an extraordinary coffee cafe with great pastries! We stopped by to meet with friends. Their coffee is great and the pastries too! Saturday mornings are really popular. Week days are also popular Stay in and sit in their small shop or go sit in the lobby of the sugar cube. Recommended.

Lico J.

Yelp
A decent professional coffee shop. I liked the convenient downtown location, the bright, clean and modern environment, the friendly baristas and how they roast their own beans (purchased their beans online before so I was super excited to finally visit the store in person in my Denver trip), but was a bit disappointed in the taste of the latte and cold brew. The latte was served surprisingly fast after ordering with a right temperature and a nicely done presentation thanks to the barista's great skills. It tasted bit bland and light, as for some reason the milk was overpowering with that skim milk's thin texture and a very strong skim milk taste (if you know what I am saying), although I ordered a regular latte. The cold brew didn't taste very strong or flavorful. It was more on the sour side (vs deep naturally sweet) but not the yummy fruity kind. It was not our favorite type of cold brew but some people may find it ok.

Jenna S.

Yelp
Was in search of a good coffee shop during our stay in Downtown Denver. This place was a good place to stop! The coffee overall tasted really good and is really high quality coffee. They don't have a whole lot of sweeter flavor options like I like, so that is my reason for knocking it down a star. I would come back here again next time in Downtown Denver!

Maddie M.

Yelp
Little owl's got the best coffee in the business district in my opinion (and quite possibly in the Denver metro area). The barista's are all very kind. I have not tried their food, but it's a great spot for a cup of Joe. There are lots of spaces for sitting indoor and outdoor, but most tables only have two chairs, so may need to avoid coming here with larger groups.

Sharon L.

Yelp
Love this spot. Stopped by on a Weekday morning and didn't have to wait for my coffee. When you walk in, you'll notice it's a small little shop. It's got wonderful design which combines wood and marble. It smells of a light roast coffee--almost very cherry. Their seasonal menu and box of pastries really piqued my interest. I ordered the Henny Basil latte and the pastel de nata. Both of which were fabulous. I absolutely cannot wait until I am in Denver again so I can try their seasonal drinks, their pourovers, and all of their other pastries.

Kurtis J.

Yelp
All you can really ask for and exactly what you're expecting. Great coffee and a place to hang and chat--and, of course, enjoy some java!

Sabrina S.

Yelp
Loved trying this spot while I was visiting Downtown Denver! I got the vanilla latte and it was so smooth and tasty! I got it to go so I could walk in the cold with it and it truly hit the spot.

Heather S.

Yelp
I've been frequenting Little Owl for about three years, and I figured it was time to pay my respects via Yelp. I love this café. I typically go for a classic cappuccino, but every time they launch their seasonal drink menus, I have to switch it up and try their creative new offerings. The coffee quality is superior. The vibes are just right - welcoming and super chill. And the pastries are *chef's kiss*. You must try the golfeado (it's a Venezuelan sticky bun; man, you will not regret it). The coffee shop itself is quaint (feels almost European, in the best way), but there is tons of extra seating in the beautiful lobby next door that guests are allowed to sit in - which I often use when I'm working remotely, or looking for more room to sit with friends! Please do yourself a favor and go here.

Neleh H.

Yelp
Solid cappuccino! I'm so tired of overly milky drinks or weak ass coffee- found this on Yelp and walked over from train station. My friend enjoyed the chai as well. Only about 3 tables out front & some bar seating inside. Staff were speedy w out sacrificing quality.

Pink L.

Yelp
Pricey, but I supposed that's expected for the city/location that's inside a luxury apartment building. Love that they make their own syrups! They had strawberry, white chocolate, mocha, and regular syrup! I got the white chocolate latte which wasn't overly sweet. The espresso tasted light and smooth. I'd definitely come back and recommend because I prefer coffee shops that make their own syrups, hence 5 stars! Kind employees and lovely little coffee shop with a small seated outdoor patio.

Laura Z.

Yelp
TLDR: the BEST coffee shop in Denver I absolutely adore this spot - from the cute little interior to the very talented baristas to the unique and edgy menu - you can't go wrong here. So far, I've tried their vanilla latte (really good and exactly what you'd expect), Vietnamese cold brew (on the sweeter side but pretty cinnamon-y and tasty), their cereal milk latte (seasonal but good to try), and their golden latte that's spiced and lovely

Apple S.

Yelp
Cute little place that looks modern and clean. Expensive fancy coffee. Very limited outdoor seating. Bathroom in the lobby next door where you can also sit.

Jazzmine B.

Yelp
My fiancé and I were in town for a very brief visit and coffee was a must have, we ended up choosing this place based on reviews and it was honestly delicious. The person working was really kind which we appreciated.

Lauren B.

Yelp
We came here at 11:30 on a Friday and nearly all of the pastries were gone except for one banana bread and croissant. We had hoped to try the Nutella croissant. my PB&J Cappuccino was very bitter but my sisters Chai was pretty good. More of a city vibe rather than cozy but a nice big bar top to sit at.

Natalie S.

Yelp
This was my favorite coffee shop in Denver! The halva latte was just right and they serve a variety of Pandemic Donuts! Can't beat it! Service was excellent too! Definitely a must try if you're in Denver.

Andrew L.

Yelp
Tiny cafe serving high quality Cappucinos. I heard good things about their coffee beans. Only offering drip coffee so you cant sample the coffees here. A decent place to do a little work. Good service and free wifi :)

Irving L.

Yelp
This is a cool spot tucked away near 16th street. It's attached to a hotel but they have their own entrance. The place is clean and calming. I get a "come as you are" type vibe here. The service is nice and friendly. The coffee is good. They also have seasonal drinks which is really fun. Their pastry's sell out, so come early if you want one. I would definitely stop by again when I'm in the area. Good stuff

Chloe R.

Yelp
I really enjoyed this coffee shop! I tried their "Vietnamese (sp)Iced Coffee" and it's definitely one of my favorite iced coffee drinks here in Denver!! The location is super central to a lot of popular downtown spots (16th street mall, Larimer Square, etc.) and the interior is cute, clean, and inviting. The baristas provided great recommendations, and the service was quick! The one thing worth noting here is that Little Owl is not a spot to hang out at and work from - table space is extremely limited, and I didn't even see any WiFi networks to connect to. This is more of a grab-and-go spot for sure.

Anna B.

Yelp
The staff was very friendly and nice but the coffee was definitely subpar. The cold brew had little white floating piece in the that kept getting stuck to the inside of my mouth. The consistency between the cold brew, white chocolate mocha and oat milk was definitely not good. I ended up throwing it away after many attempts of trying to drink it.

Amanda B.

Yelp
The teeniest and cleanly chic coffee shop tucked quietly under a building hangover that I almost passed by because of how cleanly it fit in with the surroundings. Inside can fit probably no more than 10 people, but while all white and natural colors it doesn't feel sterile, quite the opposite, inviting and relaxing. The barista was a fashion icon that I could have fawned over all day. Their expert hands deftly prepared my latte with efficiency, actually a bit mesmerizing to watch. Not a drop spilled even though the latte art was right up to the brim of cup. The Seasonal selection for May 2022, an Orange Peppercorn Latte is velvet smooth and perfectly balanced with no flavor overly strong or fighting with the other. I can't say more pleasant things. My friend got a vanilla latte and was just as impressed. Definitely a shop to visit if you're a cotnnesiour of coffee, leaving those sugar monstrosities and trendy things behind.

Paige G.

Yelp
Fantastic coffee and wonderful pastries. Both their decaf and caffeinated espresso is great, and it's clear they care about the quality of their craft. Everyone who works here is also so kind and always willing to chat. Don't skip on their specialty seasonal drinks--their Pumpkin Spice Latte and Halva-ish Latte are to die for!

Joy X.

Yelp
This coffee shop is small and mighty - it was running like a well oiled machine by a barista & warm + fuzzy feeling with limited seating and streetside parking available. I ordered an Iced Latte (3/5) & my total with a $1 tip unexpectantly came out to $7.38, so even with addition of the Mint syrup - it's def. more than I typically pay & would get the Vanilla Latte next time. My hubs ordered a Mocha (4/5), which included a beautiful floral design on the top & said it was tasty - light sugar so you could really taste the distinct Mocha flavor. Service was fast (4/5)! All of the pastries looked tempting but for two coffees totaling 13.38 + $2 tip - had to skip it!

Weston B.

Yelp
Super friendly high quality shop downtown. Wish the cold brew was offered in 2 sizes. Croissant was excellent.

Vi R.

Yelp
Cute little coffee spot for grab and go with delicious fresh pastries. The shop was tiny, clean and very minimalist. We were quickly greeted with such great customer service. Our hot and cold vanilla latte coffee were quickly made and super delicious. The butter croissant was huge and very tasty. There is no inside seating and they seem to be very firm on covid precautions which is fair since it is a tiny shop with a small capacity max. Overall I recommend this little shop.

Sarah S.

Yelp
We absolutely loved this coffee shop. Such amazing coffee and a fun vibe. We sat in the little lobby area next door and it was nice to just hang out and talk in such a beautiful environment.

Anjela P.

Yelp
Finn was the barista working and he remade my coffee even though he made what I asked I didn't really like it and he offered to make me a different drink and it turned out really good!

Ingrid D.

Yelp
Great little gem worth the detour to visit :) The coffee is always excellent and very well crafted and the baked goods are delicious. Don't go too early as you don't want to miss their croissants and other viennoiseries ;)

Sarah W.

Yelp
Such a cute place, reasonably priced, and the service has been great both times I've come in. I don't know much about coffee, and I've just asked for something iced and sweet, dealer's choice. The drinks have been great both times, and they've always been so nice. It's a convenient walk, and I'll be back whenever I'm in the area.

Amit A.

Yelp
Excellent coffee, friendly staff. If you want mediocre coffee, go to Starbucks; for excellent coffee go to Little Owl. Their pastries are good too.

Fiammetta P.

Yelp
Cute little spot centrally located. They make good strong coffee and have some small breakfast items. Stumbled upon it while visiting but would definitely go back if I lived in town!

Clarissa J.

Yelp
One of the best chais I've ever had! Stopped in here for a warm pick me up one day and it did not disappoint. They have a small offering of pastries and we shared a savory ham and cheese croissant which was so good. It's somewhat pricey but kind of what you'd expect for a place like this but I have to say the chai was worth it for sure. Can't speak to the drip or pour overs as I've only tried the chai but it seems like Yelp did not disappoint again as I decided on it after reading others say it was their fav chai in Denver!

Matthew S.

Yelp
Coffee is wonderful. I had an americano and it was perfect and so aromatic. Staff was fairly nice.

Michael C.

Yelp
Not much to say for this one coffee was good, but not great. Apperently, living in Seattle I have become a coffee snob. This was slightly above middle of the road. The staff was really nice and knowledgeable about the area, that was nice to have a conversation with them and get some inside tips on the area. Wouldn't put it in my fav's list but I would definitely tell people to try it out.

Kyla H.

Yelp
I came in from out of town and wanted to try a unique coffee shop in downtown Denver. This was one with some of the top reviews for coffee and breakfast, and it did not live up to my expectations. The coffee itself was good, the breakfast items not so much. The croissants were left room temp, so it was hard whenever I ate it. The staff also was not very friendly. I had some time to kill so I wanted to wait and enjoy my coffee before I had to leave, and there were several times where I caught one of the workers looking (even sort of glaring) at me. It made me so uncomfortable I had to leave. I honestly didn't see the hype at all with this coffee shop. It's tiny, there's not much space to sit, the breakfast was okay, and the employees were just very stand-offish.

Stefanie C.

Yelp
Cute coffee spot in Downtown Denver! With the pandemic, no one was going into the office, so there was a fortunate amount of street parking. I was meeting a friend for an hour (not working from there) so I didn't have to worry about restrictions, re-parking, etc. Love the simple, quaint décor and how easy it is to flow through the cafe. Pick up a snack and drink from the refrigerated section for later as you order coffee from the baristas. I got a latte, which was delicious. Patio seating was unavailable, so my friend and I found a ledge in front of an office building. Next time I might try a croissant to go with my coffee. There's photos on Yelp of other yummy treats, so I'll have to inquire about those too!
