I was very skeptical about “all you can eat” as generally the quality of food is poor. NOT HERE AT Little Sakana! This is my second time here and everything that has been put on our table has been so delicious! My favorite is the Lotus Flower Roll! If you are reading this, it’s all you can eat on the menu…minus very little, in which you server will point out. Trying new things is the best place for it, so take a chance on something you might not order at other places, you will be pleasantly surprised as the food is so well prepared and delicious. The servers are prompt and great. Esther is our server both times we were here and she is so wonderful, and her colleagues are great as well. You generally will not be waiting long for your food, but understand this, word is getting out about Little Sakana and weekends can get really busy. Get on the waiting list and they will fit you in. It’s worth the wait.

First time visiting from out of town. I was solo, so seated pretty quickly. The place was rather busy, so it was apparent that it must be good...and it was. All you can eat for 38 bucks was a great value, and I left not only satisfied with the food quality, but satisfied with the service and amount of food I got for that price. Everything was fresh and I was astonished at just how quickly the food made it to my table. I will be returning when I'm back k in town and may even bring a friend or two with me. Make sure you get there early!

I was on vacation but I'm a huge fan of this sushi spot. Will 100% be returning. The quality of fish was some of the best I've had in a long time. Service was great. Despite being busy, they always got our food out relatively quickly. Our Server (Anne) was awesome and she deserves a raise!!! Wait was really long, but definitely worth it. We tried nearly all the rolls, but the albacore delight roll was the the best on the whole menu! (We are big backs and ordered like 12 of them)

Dude, how can I even begin to characterize how amazing this restaurant is. This is by far THE BEST sushi restaurant I've ever visited in my entire life, no exaggeration! Here's why: • They have an all you can eat option! (And it's very reasonably priced ☺️) • The food is fresh and delicious • Service is VERY fast and friendly • The decor and ambiance are fun and modern • There are some great options on the menu, even non-sushi offerings • They offer half rolls (4 pieces) on many special rolls so you can try more items without filling up as quickly! • It's located in an area that's relatively close to most of SD county and there's plenty of parking If you're looking for a fantastic spot for some delicious sushi, please do yourself a favor and go to Little Sakana. You shan't regret it!

There is plenty of space to park. The waitlist not bad. Food pretty tasty but not as other places. Waiting can take a while like 15 to 30 to get the food so I'd recommend ordering all at once if possible. If you want tastier and faster just go Kura. It's a cool place there.

I came here based on online recommendations—what a mistake! The nigiri had huge clumps of rice that were overly sticky, almost like dense mochi. The rice texture in the rolls was also terrible. A girl would definitely be full after just six pieces. As for the side dishes, there were two types of shrimp: one was tempura shrimp, but the batter-fried shrimp was smaller than my finger; the other was shrimp wrapped around imitation crab meat and deep-fried—great only if you happen to like imitation crab. We were seated at the sushi counter, but unfortunately, it was right next to the restroom, so the smell from the restroom lingered as we ate. The service was good—that’s about the only positive thing I can say.

Google
Food is awesome for all you can eat. I always go for the Nigiri. Highly recommend the “ex-boyfriend” dish. Service is amazing. Very nice servers that tend to help you out with anything you ask. Atmosphere can be quite loud inside, much better outside.

Hey there, sushi lovers! I recently hit up this all-you-can-eat sushi joint, and let me tell you—it was phenomenal! From the second I stepped through the door, I was buzzing with excitement, and this place did not disappoint. The Vibe The atmosphere? Electric! It’s got this vibrant, welcoming energy that just screams “fun night out.” The staff? Absolute rockstars—super friendly, always smiling, and totally on top of things. They kept the sushi flowing and made sure we had everything we needed without ever making it feel rushed. It’s like they were as pumped as I was to be there! The Sushi Now, the main event—the sushi! Oh man, where do I start? The variety was unreal. They had all the classics—think California rolls and spicy tuna—but then they kicked it up a notch with some wild specialty rolls that were pure genius. Every piece was a little work of art, plated up so beautifully I almost felt bad eating it (almost). The fish? Crazy fresh. The flavors? BAM, right on point. There was this one roll—tempura shrimp, creamy avocado, and this zesty sauce drizzled on top—that had me going back for seconds (and thirds). And since it’s all-you-can-eat, I didn’t have to hold back—I sampled everything, guilt-free! The Experience The service was fast but chill, striking that perfect balance where you’re never waiting too long, but you’ve got time to savor every bite. The chefs were killing it behind the counter, clearly loving what they do, and it showed in every roll. Oh, and those little extras—like warm towels to start and endless green tea—made it feel extra special. The Verdict I rolled out of there stuffed to the brim and grinning ear to ear. This place is a sushi paradise with a killer vibe, and I’m already counting down the days until I can go back. If you’re craving a sushi feast that’s fresh, fun, and totally worth it, this is your spot! Trust me, you’ll leave happy—and maybe a little too full, but in the best way possible. Can’t wait for round two!

Yelp
I came here for a weekend dinner with a group. We didn't really have to wait to be seated and got to sit outside, which was really nice. A few of my favorites were the salmon belly, spicy salmon hand roll, furikake fries, unagi, and the salmon ponzu. Everything here tasted fresh and was delicious. It is 38.99 per person and an extra 12.99 for just nigiri. I believe everyone at the table has to get the same thing. The appetizers and sushi were good quality. Our server was really awesome and attentive to our table's needs! The restaurant is clean and very lively at night time.

Yelp
I've been to Little Sakana 5 times before, usually in big parties, so I don't write a review, as the service is not indicative of an every day individual's experience. However, coming back here in a small group of 3, I have the same complaints that I couldn't ignore and not write about. The servers are great. They are nice, attentive, and are always working hard to get food out, though wait times vary. However, whenever there is a mistake, such as plastic wrap in the food, the wrong order coming out, they call the manager in and he mumbles an apology that you can barely hear or respond to then leaves. I can also tell that the servers get defensive because they don't want to bring him in, to me, indicative of higher management that doesn't fully cater to the customer. In one instance, I almost swallowed a piece of packaging from the Krab in the ex bf nigiri that really killed my appetite less than halfway through our AYCE time. I pulled it out of my mouth and the plastic was labeled and everything, clearly coming from the bag the Krab was in. The server was nice about it, but in a really rushed manner got the manager. At this point, we had a lot of food on the way and it was stressful to finish it, as the server reminded us about the leftover food fee a couple times, but there was nobody to talk to about canceling food until the manager came, since the server left. He hurriedly came over while my group was mid conversation, mumbled his apologies and to let him know if we needed anything, then rushed away. We barely heard what he said or noticed he was there, and he left before we even processed what happened. He didn't offer any comp or discount (as a normal restaurant would) and it felt weird for me to go find him to "beg" for a discount (or even to let us take our leftovers to go or cancel orders instead of trying to finish it all, with me having lost my appetite from a big piece of plastic wrapper in my food). I walked around later looking for him, and he was nowhere to be found. It felt so dismissive, and we were all annoyed. We ended up not paying the leftovers fee that the server kept reminding us of, since my friend absolutely stuffed himself to finish it all in time, but I feel gypped since I had to pay full price for their food that made me nauseous, and couldn't eat my fill. When our groups would get dismissed in the past, I just attributed it to the servers/managers being stressed and rushed due to the size of the party, and we would just suck it up or eat the food that was mistakenly given to us. This time, though, I felt there was no excuse for the manager rushing away and not even having a conversation with us, and the plastic issue was much bigger. We ending up spending way too much money that night for a very experience. I will not be coming back until I know the service/management has improved.

Yelp
For all the gastric bypass peeps out there, I did have my "kids menu" card, but the manager did not approve any discounts towards my bill. I've come various times with my family and I always wish I can try various things, but am unable to without paying at least $40 ((ayce)) weekend/weekday price. Today, I decided to splurge. I'll be honest, they did allow me to take my time (it did not exceed 2hrs). I never felt rushed, which I really appreciated. I was able to try different items and I left very satisfied. I may not have had as many items as I wanted, but it was definitely a fun experience. Standouts: *Ex boyfriend (no rice) *Salmon skin/shishito peppers appetizer *Salmon nigiri (I would take off 3/4 of rice and they never said anything) *Lotus roll (delicious, but only ate 2 pcs) *Salmon skin hand roll (hubby suggested it- he does not have gbp) Overall, good splurge. Love their sushi, but would visit more if we had a discount. Hence, 4 stars instead of 5

Yelp
BEST AYCE SUSHI IN SAN DIEGO! Came here right before opening on Sunday 12PM, and there was already a line! Both indoor & outdoor seating with small TVs playing sports in the background. The service is very fast compared to other AYCE sushi spots where you normally get full while waiting too long for your next round. Order verbally with your server rather than on paper, so be sure to ASK ABOUT THE CHEF SPECIAL FOR THE DAY! And max out on those! Fish-to-rice ratio isn't the best, BUT they have the BEST FISH QUALITY - FRESH BEYOND your AYCE expectations. Favorites: - Nigiri: salmon belly (chef special), salmon, tuna, yellowtail - Handrolls: salmon skin, spicy scallop - Rolls: Lotus Flower, Ninja (I love how they have half 4pc options now)
google avatar

Melanie N.

Yelp
First time here and got the lunch AYCE $30.99 menu and was pleased to see the fish quality was pretty good. Unfortunately to get AYCE nigiri added, it will be additional $12.99. Although fresh, the rice portion feels out of control. It is a huge portion of rice underneath and I understand the reason behind having rice, but to avoid more waste I think half the rice portion would be more fair. Service was good and averagely fast. We never had to wait too long for our order to come out. Ambiance is fresh and clean. it feels like a newer restaurant with how it looks inside. Very spacious as well!

Yelp
4.5 stars Quick service and great as an AYCE sushi option in San Diego. Food was fresh, service was good Line gets long quickly even at opening time at noon I liked the jalapeño yellowtail

Yelp
Absolutely love this sushi spot it's my second time here I've done dinner and lunch AYCE sushi and the quality is AMAZING! I lived in Japan for 3 years so my sushi standards are high I didn't think I would find a place close to it. Man was I wrong, this place is so fresh and delicious, we had a wait for dinner and got seated quickly for lunch. Plenty of parking and place is huge. Definitely recommend and can't wait to return. Worth every penny!

Yelp
Every experience at Little Sakana is incredible. They have such fresh fish and they keep it coming! They always have specials on chef creations that make me drool! The staff is incredibly friendly, and they definitely remember me and my groups. Little Sakana is never a bad choice!

Yelp
Bravo to the staff, I am seriously so impressed. For a restaurant that is so high volume they have their system down. I'm tempted to give five stars because of the service alone, but if we're being honest the fish quality is so-so. I'm still going to eat it of course!! Obviously the wait can be long. Just manage your expectations and you'll have a great time. Don't forget to tip well, AYCE is no joke.

Yelp
Lunch $30.99 (adults) Dinner $38.99 Add on sashimi option $12.99 2 hours limit with extra charge for excessively unfinished food We were excited to try this AYCE Japanese restaurant, as they were highly raved about. We were promptly seated for lunch with the option of indoor or outdoor seating. Quickly glanced through the menu and was able to place our order with the waitress. I was impressed with how quickly the order arrived. Looking at the sushi bar casings, they seemed to already have the sushi prepared. So I'm assuming, when the orders are submitted, they just plate it, and food runners bring them to the tables. I didn't expect the presentations to be nice but I will mention that the cuts of fish were too thin, and the fish to rice ratio didn't compliment each other well. Some of the sushi and rolls looked as though a newly trained chef put them together; the fish were unproportionally or sloppily cut, and some rolls were mushy, soggy, and seemed to have been smashed and/or slapped onto the plate to be pushed out. The sushi rice didn't have much flavor to it either. The fish presented in the small bowl of salad was sad, too. It was honestly the sadest looking salad. They were slivers of fish..I don't even know exactly how to describe it. My pictures don't make them look too bad but in person, it looked unappealing. Service was ok. Empty plates weren't picked up from our tables or surrounding tables for pretty much the whole duration of the meal. Overall, it was a subpar meal and highly disappointed.

Yelp
Great service, great food! Came here on Father's Day, as expected the place was packed, however, our service was quick and the orders were always correct! AJ our server was terrific and checked in with us often to make sure we didn't need anything! I would definitely come back!

Yelp
The best AYCE sushi in San Diego. The servers are quick with bringing out food, and always are super helpful when orders haven't come out. It's in a nice area, with an indoor section and outdoor section for the San Diego sun! The fish here is fresh. Which is surprising for an AYCE place. I've been countless times and each time the fish has been consistently the same every time. That being said, there are better options to get here in my opinion: Appetizers: the shrimp tempura is only alright. It's most definitely from a frozen package, but it's exactly what you would expect! MUST HAVE TAKOYAKI, it's probably also from frozen too, but it's addictive. The sauces that they put on it are insane. Comes out piping hot. Miso soup is solid, pretty standard for Japanese places. I'm a big fan of the fish (salmon or yellowtail) collar as well, it's well cooked but some don't like the bones inside. Nigiri: the yellowtail is the best thing. Easy to eat, great quality, fresh. The salmon is good too, very fresh, but for AYCE may get a little too rich at times. The tuna is only okay, less quality to it, and cut a little thin. Would not recommend getting it, but if you like tuna, try it out. They have great secret menu items in the form of yellowtail belly and salmon belly but they are limited. Both very good. The eel is good too, but pretty standard. Hand roll: the eel Cali hand roll is easily the best hand roll, sweet, just the right amount of imitation crab and a generous amount of eel I could eat 10 of these. Maybe if you like spicy tuna textures the spicy yellowtail is good, but otherwise I would stay away from them since they have a lot of mayo. Rolls: I don't usually get rolls here, but the spider roll is my go do for my soft shell crab fix. It's solid, but wouldn't recommend to get if you want to maximize value.

Yelp
All you can eat sushi --- sashimi and other good stuff , such as drinks is not included. About $50 / person including tips. Arrived around 6pm and joined waiting list through scanning QR code. Seating can be either indoor or outdoor. And the place is big enough to host big parties. Ordered multiple sushi and salad, the taste is ok, no big wow or strong no. Which means the quality does not make the price worth but quantity if you can handle. Meanwhile, every time you can order maximum 4 items . I would recommend to come to this place once when you are super hungry.
google avatar

Angeli N.

Yelp
To start off, the food was amazing! The all you can eat is absolutely worth it, but what really made our visit special was the customer service. Our server, EJ, went above and beyond our expectations and made us feel welcome, as if we were guests in someone's home. Thank you to all the staff for making tonight's dinner date an experience to remember!

Yelp
little sakana is my favorite all you can eat (ayce) sushi place in san diego!! the sushi is pretty fresh and very delicious. in my opinion, it's worth the extra cost to get the sashimi package, but i don't get it every time necessarily (depending on the group i'm with). my favorite thing to order is the eel hand rolls - drool worthy!! i do feel like in the recent months, the nigiri quality has decreased slightly with worsening ratios of fish to rice. however, i would still say this is one of the best ayce sushi in the area. service is always top notch, the servers and hostesses are very hospitable. they also have a special song for birthdays! the ambiance can be quite loud inside, so be prepared to talk pretty loudly to hold a conversation. it's very lively inside! they do have a heated patio, but i've never personally eaten outside. the wait can get pretty long especially at peak hours and for large parties. if you can have one person of your party go there earlier to add your name to the waitlist, that would be the move! but be sure everyone is there once you're called, otherwise you cannot be seated. overall, i would recommend little sakana for ayce!

Karen W.

Yelp
We've been to Little Sakana a couple of times recently. The rolls are delicious. We typically buy a few rolls, tempura and edamame. A friend had their all you can eat option. He thoroughly enjoyed the wide selection of foods and has been raving about it ever since. Some of our favorite rolls are the Hurricane, Lotus Crunch, Spicy Crunch and of course the California. The restaurant is loud - the music and large space makes it noisy and sometimes it is hard to hear. We prefer eating outside. Waiter Cameron was very good.
google avatar

Bonnie Y.

Yelp
This is our go-to sushi spot. There are many items to choose from. It's especially good when they are not buffet style. I loved ex-boyfriend, salmon skin, eel, bomb.com and many others. Go there hungry.
google avatar

Jay B.

Yelp
I've been here several times and I have not had any issues. They got rid of the paper and pencil to just order directly on an iPad from the waiter. They have outside and inside seating. They charge more for dinner than they do for lunch.

Yelp
Our fav AYCE sushi place in SD. It's almost always busy, but the waitlist moves pretty quickly. Even with a full restaurant, service is quick and friendly and food comes out fast. Everything is good quality, especially the chef's specials (usually bellies - our fav) when they have them! Special shoutout to my favorite server Anne! She's so sweet, genuine, kind and attentive. Parking is fairly easy with a private lot though it can get pretty packed.
google avatar

Vicente R.

Yelp
Food was so amazing. Our waitress was so nice and and always checked in on us. Thank you Lead Anne. Definitely come back.

Yelp
Hands down best sushi I've ever had. The fish melts in your mouth and you can just tell the quality and freshness of the fish. Our server, AJ was also great and made sure to check in, get us water, and let us know when he was going on break/back from it. We sat outside on a beautiful day and the ambiance was great, especially whoever had the AUX because the music was a vibe. Overall amazing first experience and cannot wait for when I go back. We ordered: Star Wars: 8/10 stars Rainbow: 10000/10 stars Alaska: (Basically the rainbow but w/just salmon) 10000/10 stars Red Dragon/ 10000/10 stars Ninja: 8/10 Volcano: 8/10 Udon noodles: 3/10 Miso soup: 9/10 Beef Gyozas: 1/10 Chicken fried rice: 0/10 Calamari: 0/10 Shrimp tempura: 3/10

Yelp
Great spot for sushi. The service was on point. Like that they had a variety of sushi to chose from. Will definitely be back.

Yelp
First time here and this place did not disappoint. Great food and service. Love that they played good music. What more can you ask for. Line was long to get in but didn't goes by quick. If you're a sushi lover you need to try this spot out.

Yelp
After heading on vacation after a long month of construction managing, Little Sakana was the perfect spot to relax at. The fish tasted fresh and paired well with the rice and a drop of soy sauce. Seaweed salad had a touch of acidity and was a nice refreshment. Spider Roll tasted great and the soft shell crab was very crispy, however would not recommend it for anyone getting their money's worth for AYCE as it fills you up quick. Salmon belly was very fatty and melted on your tongue. Although I do not have the photo of the calamari, but I would not recommend it as all the breading fell off. Server Anne was very kind and attentive. Overall, I would come back here if I get another break from construction.

Yelp
Came here a total of three times since the 2024 New Year and every time I have been seated I had the pleasure of having Shon as the server and was placed in his assigned tables that are located to the left of the restaurant in between both of the sushi kitchens. Shon is always so nice and polite, he collects orders and checks in fairly frequently. Think he is a very hard worker that others can learn from. Lunch deals are still great. Good variety that comes in the deal and great bang for your buck. Waitlist can be lengthy ranging up to two hours at times. Definitely find that this AYCE is better than others that I have tried. Major FYI: If you are to get at least 2 rolls and one side, you might as well order AYCE! I love all the appetizers. If you are to get a roll make sure you ask other AYCE members in your party to enjoy some as well. Highly recommend starting off with a roll and a bunch of appetizers to truly taste all areas of the menu and to make AYCE seem worth it. Wasabi has a strong green color to it and is actually quite spicy, and the ginger is always cut small enough to rationalize with the rolls. The restaurant is almost always busy. The staff is very attentive to even the straw trash on the table and it is practically a spotless restaurant. I would recommend to others to experience this place because if AYCE. It is not the best sushi I've ever tasted in my life, however I do think that it is quite tasty! I for sure am coming back.
google avatar

Minerva D.

Yelp
Overall decent place. I thought the flavors were good. It was super busy and the rolls/nigiri were good. I feel like I was missing something that would make me give it a 5. I think it's good for AYCE. I really liked the music and the fun way they celebrated birthdays.
google avatar

Jessica L.

Yelp
After my experience today, I don't know if I'll go back to Little Sakana. I've eaten here many times when it's busy but today (Sunday) around 2PM, 40 minutes of my meal time was spent waiting. This was after we were seated too. Not sure if it was short-staffed but I left feeling frustrated. Initially, we waited 15 minutes before our server greeted us and was able to take out order. Then towards the end of our meal during our second round of AYCE, the wrong plate of food was served and then we waited another ~25 minutes before we received the correct order. Our waiter explained there was a mix up and did check in occasionally, but nothing much was done to better our experience or trying to get our food out sooner. In terms of quality of food, it is $38.99 for AYCE on the weekend without the sashimi menu (adds another 12.99) and I feel like I should have gone to another sushi restaurant for the amount of time spent waiting and the quality of fish today. I always get the salmon because it's usually good and today the fish tasted good but not as much sauce/flavor as usual. The tuna was dry and not appetizing. The one-order/person kampachi nigiri special was my favorite but sadly couldn't order more. Ginger slices we received were also dried and as if they've been sitting out and no more pickling liquid was left. I hope others don't experience the same.
google avatar

Megan C.

Yelp
This is one of the few AYCE sushi places in SD, so my friends and I have come pretty often now! For AYCE, the quality of the sushi is honestly really good. We usually order a few different rolls and stick to the Nigiri. You can't really go wrong with most of the rolls, they are very tasty. The firecracker and the Alaska roll are our favorites. The Eel Nigiri is so so good and I preferred the yellowtail the most of the fresh fish. Service is A1 at this place. They are efficient, attentive, and friendly. The ambiance is casual and they play really good music inside!
google avatar

Erika T.

Yelp
Super solid ayce sushi! Fast service and the food came out quick. Besides the super long wait, I would come again. I'm surprised with how good the service was especially for how busy it was. Our nigiri came out super quick as well. The fish didn't have any fishy taste-- although my friend said his last order of tuna did so I guess it could be a hit or miss. There is plenty of parking (you may have to walk) and I like how it's located on the east side of Mira Mesa rather than the west end.
google avatar

Karen W.

Yelp
Great place for all you can eat sushi -- you can order a la carte as well! Love the spacious parking lot and dessert spots in the plaza. AYCE menu is $30-40 depending on lunch or dinner, and weekday or weekend. There are many menu items to choose from. There's a variety of appetizers, rolls, and nigiri included in the AYCE menu. Nigiri is 1 piece per order so you can easily try a bunch of different ones. However the rolls are full rolls so unless you come with a group and split the roll, it will fill you up quickly. Overall, nice fish to rice ratio to the nigiri as well. Favorites were the seared tuna, sweet soy salmon, and yuzu albacore.
google avatar

Song T.

Yelp
Came back for Valentine's Day. They increased lunch price by like $1 or $2 since the last time we visited. But it didn't matter to us, we missed lunch by like 5 mins and ended up paying full price for dinner. Service was spectacular as always- they kept refilling my water and provided us with everything we wanted (extra chopsticks bc I'm clumsy, extra napkins, more ginger, lemon slices lmao). Ambiance was cute. They hung balloons for Valentine's Day which was a nice touch. I tried the mackerel / albacore nigiri but wasn't a fan. I'm team salmon so they were awesome. (Recommend umami oil or just the regular salmon belly.) Husband got the spicy yellowtail hand roll and liked it. He did not however, like the yellowtail nigiri. ‍ Next time is definitely like to try the baked rolls but I filled up too much on nigiri and other goodies like the yellowtail kama / salmon skin & shishito pepper. Such a solid spot. The manager came by (just like last time!) to see if everything was up to par. Y'all are doing great here!

Yelp
Food is fresh. Kinda slow on the service in the beginning. Place is so cool that people were talking loud. My mom doesn't eat raw fish, but thank goodness they fry fish and have tempura. Restrooms were clean as well. Most of all, come hungry

Yelp
Found this place from a Tiktok and decided to try it out from looking at the Yelp reviews and was not disappointed! The inside is really nice and clean, and upon entering, the host asked how many people were in my party and gave us the options of dining in or dining outside. Sat inside and the customer service was really fast. Went around 1:20pm and it wasn't that busy. There's a good variety of apps, sashimi and sushi rolls. I even got to try an oyster and their oysters are HUGE. I got baked mussels, sashimi salad, seaweed salad and tried about 6 sushi rolls. Only dined in for 2 so unfortunately couldn't order everything on the menu. But everything I ordered was really good, I will definitely come back again!

Yelp
Our team picked Little Sakana for lunch this month. I started with the Tonkotsu Ramen which is a limited time special.  Broth had a rich flavor I loved.  Noodles were soft and silky.  Chasu was tender I loved the bbq flavor.  Very tasty dish. Shrimp tempura had a crunchy batter with a nice fried flavor that complimented the plump shrimp beneath.  Very good. Popcorn chicken had a very crunchy batter with tender juicy chicken beneath. I was very impressed as little pieces of chicken often turn out dry. Our server Precious was very nice and provided great service.  I remember in the old days I bought Levi's at Miller's Outpost and I worked at Handyman where Petco now is.  Lot of changes since I first visited Mira Mesa Mall.

Yelp
I think this is my favorite sushi place. The food was fresh and delicious! I am seriously amazed at how amazing the food was here. The nigiri was fresh and the seaweed salad was delicious! I seriously loved everything. The restaurant is huge and has so much seating. The staff was super welcoming and helpful. Our server was so sweet and nice. It was a little loud, but honestly it wasn't a huge deal. It was their 5 year anniversary and they were celebrating it with a raffle and music and little gift bags. It was really cute and fun. I'll definitely be coming back!

Yelp
Little Sakana Japanese Sushi Bar & Grill in the Mira Mesa Mall is the hot spot for AYCE sushi. This place is always packed with hungry visitors looking to get stuffed on all you can eat sushi. If you need a AYCE strategy, your best bet is focus on the Nigiri. They have chef specials which you can only order once per night. You cannot go wrong with alot of their offering as once you start ordering, the food comes out pretty quick at least the nigiri. Pace yourself as you will find yourself ordering alot then get really full fast as rice will build up. Manager Michelle was helpful and recommended the Firecracker Roll which was packed with flavor. Try it for yourself as you will not leave hungry. Parking is plentiful and the staff is very helpful.

Yelp
My wife and I had a great experience at this all-you-can-eat Japanese restaurant! The service was excellent, and the staff welcomed us with a positive attitude. The restaurant was unique and clean, and the food was fresh and delicious. We ordered a variety of dishes, including salmon, tuna, shrimp tempura, eel, and calamari, and everything was worth it. They also offer small portions of soups, salads, and other starters. Overall, I would highly recommend this restaurant to anyone looking for a great all-you-can-eat experience. We'll definitely go back here!

Yelp
There is no doubt little sakana has the best ayce in sd. Ayce or not, their fish never disappoints. It's always fresh and rolls are well prepared. Prices are really reasonable and awesome for large groups and celebrations. They are also incredibly fast and provide fantastic service.

Yelp
I have been here multiple times now and the fish is fresh every single time. The AYCE option is not badly priced especially if you are able to come for lunch during the week. For the most part, the sushi comes out pretty fast. But there are some points where they take soo long you think they actually forgot about your order. Some of the appetizers are simple and bland, but that's not what I'm coming for, so I don't mind. Drinks are also very good! I've had a different server every time I've been here and they have always been very nice and patient while we figure out our order. Highly recommend this place for your sushi needs.

Yelp
This place was hoppin on Friday night. We were in the mood for some sushi and Little Sakana Sushi had great reviews. So we had to try it. So glad we did. Outstanding customer service was provided by Vivian. The sushi was delivered lighting fast, it was fresh, flavorful, good amount of sushi on each plate served, great pricing and outstanding customer service provided by every employee working at Sakana. They all worked together. Our order was delivered really fast and with a smile. They all work together to make your dining experience great. We all were very impressed with the excellent customer service that was provided. The sushi was fabulous. Plenty of seating. Dog friendly, excellent place for any celebration. We will be back. Happy customer The Songer Family

Yelp
The food here was pretty good! The fish was fresh tasting and the size of the piece of fish for the nigiri was perfect! I do believe that the nigiri had a little bit too much rice because it was pretty dense! It was a tightly packed roll of rice. The miso soup was tasty! Salmon kama is definitely worth a try! There are bones in that one but it is a fried piece of salmon. The skin is crunchy and a little salty but I love it. One thing I didn't like was that the eel nigiri was limited one order per person for the whole meal time. I really enjoy eel but having a limit of one piece is quite insane. The salmon skin and shishito pepper was my favorite appetizer! It was so crunchy and flavorful! There is a lot of seating and open spaces. It does not feel crammed or anything. The staff were nice and somewhat attentive. Our waitress came around a few times but it actually seemed like a team effort with the waiters and waitresses. Multiple different employees took our order so it was nice because the service was faster in that sense. I liked this place but I wish there was not a limit on the eel nigiri!

Yelp
We came here on a Thursday night and it was very busy. The place was packed! That's always a good sign. We also didn't wait very long. Our table was for 5 and we waited about 10min before a table opened up. We were seated and our server brought us some waters to start. We saw that they had nigiri but it looked pretty expensive. However our server cleared it up for us. $38.99 included AYCE Sushi AND Nigiri. The additional $11.99 was for ayce tuna, salmon and something else sashimi. We got everything we wanted and the Nigiri was BOMB!! My kids love the nigiri wlso we ordered a lot of that. Sushi was very tasty and I enjoyed every role we got. We came here to celebrate my daughter's bday so they brought out a light up sign and sing a short song for you and gave us a little ice cream for her as well. The place is a little loud and they also have tvs if you wanted to eat and watch a sports game. Anyways, this is our new GO to Sushi spot when we go to San diego. We love it.

Yelp
I Come here yesterday with my husband and come back today with my kids. I love the food here but more love the service. I didn't order food but look how they surprise us with a little orange teddy bear. My kids happy a lot. They said Mommy today is the best day ever. Thank you to make my day and I'll be back .

Yelp
Definitely ate all that I could! Everything we tried was excellent and all of the staff were fast and helpful. Our waiter, Jericho, was amazing! He was at every corner of the restaurant at once and came to check on us as soon as we were even slightly low on food. He explained the rules and answered questions clearly and right away. Everything we tired was really tasty and arrived quickly. All you can eat was well worth it!

Yelp
THE WAIT IS NOT FOR THE WEAK! Come hungry and be prepared to wait at least an hour on most days. This is easily the best value to flavor ratio I've ever had at a sushi spot. I can't tell you how happy I get when we visit this place; whether for a nice date night with my wife or a cool place to grab dinner with friends, somehow the ambiance works both ways! I personally don't think it's worth it to add the $12.95 for unlimited sashimi, it's not that's it's bad, I just feel the options are to limited and you're busy eating everything else to dive into the sashimi. AVOID the fried stuff, again not because they're bad, but because they will fill you up fast. There's an art to all you can eat sushi! Finally, I can't stress this enough, GET THE BAKED MUSSELS! I came here with my friends and we easily downed 50 orders. It was delicious and so worth the coma afterward. The best recommendation after dinner here is a brisk walk and a nap.

Yelp
So I forgot to take pictures because I was so busy eating and catching up with some old friends... but I always come to Little Sakana for AYCE sushi when I'm in San Diego. It's about ~50 dollars per person so come hungry and be prepared to eat your moneys worth! We only go for nigiri and miso but you can get a lot of things (rolls, appetizers) for regular AYCE. Sashimi is extra cost. Seating is pretty quick and service is great at explaining things like how to order and the daily chefs special! They even do a little birthday thing if you let them know (a song? and a scoop of ice cream). Totally recommend if you think you can eat $50 of fish!

Yelp
I came here to celebrate a friend's birthday to take advantage of the all you can eat sushi. Food was really good, although i would say that I have had better sushi at other locations. It makes sense that the sushi used during the all you can eat sushi is not the best, considering they are probably churning these rolls out to meet with the demand. Our server usually just left us alone and so we had to consistently wave to bring them over in order to put in our next order for food or for another round of drinks. The one thing I would say that was also a bit lacking was the selection of drinks. We either had to get a specific beer, or a crafted cocktail that this location specifically made for their restaurant. Sometimes I just want a seltzer or something easier for the stomach especially since I neither wanted to get wasted nor did I want to get too full. It was definitely bustling with business as it took time for us to get seated even after we all arrived at a scheduled time. You can tell the food is great here, but I think that the quality could be improved upon slightly in order to be the absolute best. I will definitely come back again

Yelp
Both of the LS locations are the cream of the crop for all you can eat sushi within San Diego County. They offer an array of delicious appetizers and quality sushi combined with attentive and rapid service. The ayce dinner is now $38.99 as of 9/17/23, and it's still a deal. I could spend that much à la carte elsewhere with only an appetizer, a few nigiri, and one special roll. The following are what I typically order for each feast: Baked Green Mussels: richness from the kewpie mayo with a subtle sweet and savory sauce. Perfection, 10/10 rating. Seaweed Salad: refreshing with a dash of sugar and sesame oil/seeds, 8/10. Salmon and Yellowtail Kama: meaty, succulent, and always perfectly fried to a crisp, 9/10. Cream Cheese Wontons: crispy wontons with a creamy, slightly sweet filling. Fine on its own, or eat it with the chicken fried rice for a sweet & savory effect and contrast of textures, 8/10 rating. Adegashi Tofu: crispy exterior that covers the soft and creamy interior with a subtle savory sauce, 8/10. Shrimp Tempura: this classic fried appetizer never gets old. Crispy but light batter with the satisfying and tender shrimp, 8/10. Chicken Fried Rice: a filler, but I have no regrets for the savory flavor that pairs perfectly with a fried appetizer, including the cream cheese wontons, 8/10. Calamari: crispy and tender but slightly chewy squid, 7.5/10. Garlic Edamame: garlic and salt elevates these soybeans. Bet you can't just eat one! 8/10 rating. Furikake Fries: crispy fries sprinkled with the well-known Japanese seasoning that makes this enjoyable, 7.5/10. Nigiri: Unagi, Salmon, Tuna, Yellowtail, Spicy Scallop: all fresh with minimal rice, so the seafood is able to shine, 8/10. Salmon Skin Hand Rolls: these are rich with an alluring crisp, 10/10! Lotus Flower roll: this is one of my new faves. This spicy tuna, shrimp tempura, and avocado roll is elevated with fried onions, sweet eel sauce, and spicy mayo all on top, 10/10! Lemon roll: Simple, but that citrus bite keeps my palate aroused, 8.5/10. Allstar roll: this roll isn't spicy but gives an essence of spice that is a welcoming change of pace from all of the sweet flavors from the other items. 8.5/10. Ex-boyfriend Roll (no rice): the imitation crab adds more seafood flavor in place of rice, 8/10. Popcorn Crawfish Roll: crispy seafood adds a layer of depth to the soft and light sushi roll, 8.5/10. Hazey IPA - pitcher ($22): solid beer that accentuates all of the seafood and fried dishes, 8/10. The ambiance is just as amusing. Good vibes with catchy music, while the tables are nicely spaced out. A well-deserved 5 stars!
