"A restaurant known for its lobster rolls and other New England fare has closed after 13 years. 'We succumbed to the economy and the cost of doing business in this city,' Steven Costello, the co-owner of Lobster Joint, tells Greenpointers. The restaurant’s sales in the summer and winter had dipped, while food costs have shot up. Last fall, the New York Times covered how rising lobster prices were affecting local businesses. A natural wine bar called Bouquet has applied for a wine and beer license at the address." - Luke Fortney

"This nautical-themed seafood shack in Greenpoint serves classic New England and Connecticut-style lobster rolls, but we tend to gravitate toward their Lobster Club Roll. It comes on a toasted, undersized bun with a big mound of well-dressed lobster recklessly spilling over the top, and it has two key additions: avocado and crispy bacon. Order one at the counter, along with a Bloody Mary (with lobster) or a Narragansett, and claim a picnic table on the sunny back patio." - Bryan Kim, Kenny Yang

"Get off the G at Greenpoint Ave, start walking north, and you'll eventually find this place that looks like it belongs near a beach on Cape Cod. Lobster Joint is a New England-style seafood shack, and it's the neighborhood's premier destination for clam strips, fish and chips, and popcorn shrimp. All of those things are great, but don't forget to eat a lobster roll while you're here. They serve a few different kinds—including your classic New England and Connecticut varieties—and we tend to gravitate toward the Lobster Club Roll. Like the rest of the rolls, it comes on a toasted, undersized bun with a large mound of lobster recklessly spilling over the top, although it also has some crispy bacon and a good amount of avocado. Order one at the counter, along with a Bloody Mary (with lobster) or a Narragansett, and claim a picnic table on the sunny back patio." - Team Infatuation

"97th Street has the biggest variety of concessions on the boardwalk, including a barbecue place (Breezy’s), a ceviche stand (La Cevicheria), a full service bar (Low Tide Bar), and our top pick, Lobster Joint. Get a lobster roll, and eat it at one of the picnic tables. photo credit: Lobster Joint" - Andrew Steinthal

I first discovered this place at The Bloody Mary Festival recently. Since I really enjoyed their festival winning traditional Bloody Mary, I wanted to try out the food. As soon as you walk in this cute little place, you are immediately drawn to the decor and atmosphere. My server Nikki was warm, welcoming, and helpful. The food and, of course...the Lobster Claw Bloody Mary was really good. My Crab Cake Benedict was tasty, and the eggs were poached perfectly. The Clam Chowder had the right amount of salt and flavor. They have a pretty decent sized menu, and the prices, in my opinion, are reasonable. I really enjoyed my experience and will be sure to visit again the next time I am in the Greenpoint area.

Came for their specialty lobster roll and never regret. Huge portions of lobster fill up the bun and all other dishes they have are fantastic! Appropriate pricing, staff are friendly and helpful. Will come back again for sure.

So for 23 dollars a lobster roll just larger than the size of my fist is overpriced. Clam chowder for 8 dollars was more like potato chowder. Coleslaw and pickles are a must have as a side. Bloody Mary was on point, bartender was awesome. I disliked it for the value of the meal and what we chose. Maybe there's other things to try on the menu that's worth getting but I won't be going back anytime soon. Service was standard. Our entire meal incl tax about 50 dollars.

Interesting variety of lobster rolls that also comes with a side. The onion rings were delicious and crispy. Would love to check out other stuff on their menu if I'm ever in the area again! 🦞🦞

Ordered lunch via Grubhub. The food was good but was a bit much. My lobster roll had avocados and bacon in it. After I picked all that out, I was able to enjoy it. I ordered fries with my roll and the fries were so heavy. After eating maybe 5 fries; I was full. My coworker had the lobster slider salad and fried calamari. She said the for the price, there could have been a bit more calamari, that it needed to be cooked a bit longer and the calamari sauce was bland. She enjoyed her lobster salad sliders. It was ok just a new experience. Over $50 spent and not even a free water.

The lobster rolls here are ridiculously tasty! I thought the roll looked small to be honest, but it was so dense. So much lobster in every bite! I felt so full with just one roll and french fries and corn on the cob. So tasty, I will be back soon

The vibe is shore like “eating in the rough” while in Brooklyn. Stopped in for a late lunch and found the atmosphere very relaxed and conducive to enjoying a delicious meal. The Lobster Corn Chowder was served first and the flavors were true and not overly seasoned. Many generous sized chunks of whole lobster meat which included whole claw meat chunks. Served at a medium warm temp, which would have been a bit warmer for my liking. The Connecticut Lobster Roll came out and first impressions were “wow” & “where’s the rest”... the lobster roll was very tasty with warm lobster meat, with just the right amount of butter! They might consider a side of potato chips, slaw or something else to fill the small tray. Of course that idea cuts into the bottom line, so it’s understood they need to pay the rent. This is a really nice option for lobster 🦞 lovers who would rather have someone else do the cooking!
