Local 149 - Review - South Boston - Boston - The Infatuation

"Local 149 is a gastropub near Pleasure Bay in Southie. It’s nothing special, but it’s also just about the only restaurant and bar in a 10-block radius, so if you’re down at the M Street Beach and want to grab a bite to eat, this will get the job done. The craft beer selection is very good and they have some decent cocktails too. As long as you prioritize the drinks over the menu of popcorn chicken and truffle brussels sprouts, you’ll have a good time." - Dan Secatore

Google
Definitely an underrated bar in southie. Love coming here for some good food and drinks that are priced well. They have great specials throughout the week. Workers are super nice and I’ve only experienced great service so far. Outdoor space is nice during the summer which is a huge plus especially being so near the beach!

I've been coming here for 5ish years since I moved to the neighborhood. The food is always fantastic. The vibe/location is phenomenal (albeit the only bar in this area). The one problem since day one has been the staffing. I've been coming here at least once every 2 months since 2021 and there is a revolving door of staff. They are all super nice and in general we like them (and wish we got to know them more than a 3 month tenure). The issue here is the amount of staff. It is constantly so slow. However management staffs it or hires people for the tables, it's brutally tough to get attention when you want another drink. We find ourselves cashing out and going to L st/Playwright when we want to keep the night going, vs. staying here and drinking just because they are so slow. Again, very nice spot and we really want to like it, but the owners need to make another hire or two because it is so so so slow.

Came here Friday night with a friend and asked to sit outside. I will note that I have been here a few times for drinks and somewhat know the waitress we had because he is always working here and has a distinct personality that is like intense and kind of rude but in a joking kind of way.... I think? Memorable to say the least lol. He takes our order and is like the kitchen is closing at 10 so basically hurry up (I think it was like 930 at this point?) and we were like ok kind of rude but noted and put our orders in. He comes back out with the food and hands it to us over the rail that separated out table from the picnic tables in the other outdoor section - so we had to like move to reach to grab it from him. Not a huge deal but like I have been a waitress for 3 years - you don't really do that and there was plenty of room to come around . Then probably 10 minutes into our meal I feel something on my leg - I flick it and its the BIGGEST ROACH I have ever seen. Obviously horrified we decided to take the food to go and leave. My friend went up to pay the bill ASAP and explain what happened as we were now taking our food to go and he goes I'm sorry baby! and is just super flippant about the whole thing, Listen - were we expecting to get the meal comped - no, but I would have come over and apologized and at least asked if there was anything I could do. Also our table was up against the building so it had clearly come from the inside. We tipped him 20% but looking back really shouldn't have. I got a taco salad for dinner - ate some of it when my appetite returned the next day and got so sick. I am not sure if it was the food cooked incorrectly or didn't hold well in the fridge but the whole experience was just so backwards and off. I would not come here again/ get takeout especially when there are so many other places to go on east Broadway. Not the hidden gem people think it is just because the drinks are reasonably priced.

Google
Generous portion sizes of the Buffalo Wings which were so delicious! Miso Glazed Cod was definitely extremely flavorful, and the flavors are what you would expect at an American restaurant. Short Ribs were melt-in-your-mouth and extremely delicious; the brussel sprouts that came with were also quite tasty. Service was a bit more casual and felt not very professional at times but not too big of a deal

Beautiful place with delicious food! Our meals were very good! Lamb burger 🍔 vas the great choice! Also, salad was 💥! People are very nice. Outdoor seating.

Google
Ordered steak tips and specified I wanted it well done, it arrived medium rare. The mashed potatoes were extremely salty. Tired of the inconsistency. First couple of times I ordered from here the food was perfection.

Used to love this place and used to go to trivia every tuesday. Two people on my trivia team are vegetarian. They keep changing their menu so it will go from having vegetarian options to no vegetarian options so the team has to find somewhere else to go for the months of the year they decide to have no options.

Google
Stopped by here while attending a conference at the convention center. This location is a short Uber ride away from the primary convention center hotels, but well worth the travel. We stopped in on Valentine's Day and weren't sure how busy it would be, but apparently we arrived early enough to be at the crowds. The atmosphere was upscale corner bar. It was not pretentious at all, and not so loud that you couldn't have a conversation. The food was good, as was the service.

Yelp
The food and service were good. The chicken sandwich was great and the wings were 10/10. The oysters and octopus were a little disappointing though

Yelp
Hidden gem! Always a cute spot to pop into when the Broadway bars are too packed, super yum hummus and salad and a refreshing menu compared to all the greasy shit nearby

Yelp
The other night, I had the most uproarious and unforgettable dining experience at Local 149, and let me tell you, it was an absolute rollercoaster of delight! The moment I walked in, I was greeted by the tantalizing aroma of mouthwatering dishes and the sight of a bar that looked like it was curated by the gods themselves, thank you Hey-Suz. First off, let's talk about the food. Oh-My-Baby Christmas Jesus. The food! Each dish was a symphony of flavors that danced on my taste buds like a flash mob in stealing from Sephora. I ordered the Burnt Ends, Popcorn Chicken and Drunkin Scallops, and let me tell ya, Dear Lord Baby Jesus, I saw fireworks explode as I put that delicate meat into my mouth. Every bite was like winning the lottery! Now, on to the drinks. The cocktails here aren't just beverages; they're a full-on EXPERIENCE in a glass. I sipped on the "Good N U Mule" and the "Smoking Green," which made me feel things that I haven't since my wife left me. By the second round, I was convinced I could get here back, Cynthia if you're reading this I still love you. And oh, the staff! The GM is a smoken hot dynamo who could probably erect steel beams with just a wink. Her charm and charisma had everyone, including my grandpa, excited like teenagers. Not to be outdone, the AGM is a shredded, dark, and handsome dreamboat. His suave demeanor, ripped physique, and dazzling smile had my sister creating a lake a sin. But wait, there's more! The bar manager - let's call him "Big Ole Daddy" - is what all men are terrified of, the Mr. Steal Your Mom type. He's like the Dumbledore of cocktails, conjuring up potions that had us all believing in his magic wand, Making everyone feel like they were part of one big party. By the end of the night, I was convinced I had stepped into an alternate universe where food, drinks, and drop-dead gorgeous staff collided to create the ultimate paradise. Local is not just a restaurant; it's a life-changing adventure. If you haven't been, drop whatever you're doing and go now. You won't regret it!

Yelp
Revisited Local 149 for the first time in a decade at least. Very crowded and loud at 7:30 but managed 3 seats at the bar. Competent service from a very busy bartender. We enjoyed our various drinks ($12 ea) and beers (tons of choices) and I thought the fried chicken sandwich was excellent. It was advertised as Nashville hot and there was none of that which I was fine with. Plentiful and excellent tater tots.

Yelp
I've been to Local 149 three times: for brunch, dinner, and post-dinner drinks and snacks. The black bean burger is great as are the snacks/apps and drink choices. I was disappointed today when I went to brunch because my corned beef hash was 100% not corned beef hash... it was huge chunks of corned beef (at least one inch cubed per chunk) and pieces of either red potato or fingerling potato that were quartered. The ratio per bite was totally off and these huge pieces of potato and beef didn't create an absorbent base for the eggs. I picked at it for a bit and eventually gave up. High quality just not what I wanted. The server was very kind and offered to take it off the bill. In summary: the food is good but don't order the corned beef hash if you actually want diner style small pieces.

Yelp
I want to respond to Amanda L. And all of the rest of U that her message may resonate with. Dead Amanda and co, Did you consider when you used her name that you are the one actually specializing her and describing her exact location? Was your intent to endanger your server or purely shame her? Do you know that where you went for Mother's Day is not the Capitale Grille but a BAR by the beach highly populated by young people that dress just as she does? I actually go topless on southie beach as a woman as I feel it is mi equal opportunity right to Vitamin D and especially important in these times of women's and humans rights on the line to deweaoponize the perception of the female figure and teach by example that it is a sacred vessel to be appreciated. You are probably the type that saw mi doing yoga on the beach this way and sent your kids to a Celtics game holding "This is not South Beach it's Southie" sign. How dare anyone compare us to Florida, if you are so uncomfortable here it ironically may be a place for you. If dress code was a thing of concern for you, you could have called the place prior to confirm it aligns with your values. If sanitation was a concern regarding the hair, if you are so BOLD to name drop on the internet here? You could have kindly pulled her or the manager aside since you also made it seem as if you frequent and love their food, and RESPECTFULLY let them know about health code, it is not always mandatory if you are not behind counters or in the kitchen and sometimes people simply have a certain type of day and forget. The service is actually the most important thing which you did not make any specific complaint on which after you have discredited yourself comes off as insecurity. If you wanted to warn people they may be confused about the kind of place it is, again you could have kindly done so. Before the slaughtering puritans there were the native Americans right here on these lands, so do you know what they wore? Be a part of progression of equality, do you know how many mothers have died due to a sliver of skin being revealed? Was your mother actually uncomfortable? Mi grandmother RiP we're gynocolygists in Syria and Armenia and they championed mi nude are and bravery to be miself. It's not up to the trendy bar to reconsider what their employees wear it is up to u to b a genuine example for ur daughters and support to women worldwide. Maybe seek therapy and ask yourself why you are so controlling and insecure (hey helped mi and so many others NO SHAME haha!) and if u choose to project ur problems on mi next legally I am not doing anything gratuitous and u could actually help Mi create safe legal ground and environment for mothers and daughters forever to come. Osteoporosis is on the rise in women have u been getting some sun? How will your sons ever learn how to be men if their only exposure to reality is through the realm of the internet and porn. Don't think you know your kids so well and don't worry there are establishments u can go and so long as they can still afford to exist in this economy you should b good (can't speak for the karmic sense we all tally our own karmic calculators). Best wishes and good luck. The ultimate irony is the only reason I actually ordered food there is because I remembered Ashley and her amazing energy and kindness and thought hey I'm not totally sure about this place despite the food being good but it will be worth getting to stop by and tell her hi in case she is there and I'm so glad I did even in a few moments she uplifted and made mi night with her simple kindness and genuine smile. Y'all should b thanking people that courageously come out to SERVE u and share their beauty and inspire despite the many judgements and cruelties of this world. And not to mention the service industry where some places people don't even get tips. Do y'all kno how employees are treated at ur favorite places? Ask urselves. And instead of inappropriately taking to the internet ask the right people the right questions and if u want to help actually do that. Peace and love y'all. FIVE STARS FOR ASHLEY! And those mac balls and octopus hit last night y'all. And I'll keep it totally real that review tipped mi 2 it I could not read that and feel comfortable sleeping at night it literally disturbed mi. I hope everyone understands the sincerity and deep importance of mi message 4 all of Us. And Amanda PS. People can equally be aroused by topless men. There are places in this world it's not custom for women to wear tops and places where while families live in huts do you think they hide? Find out how ur local favorite restaurants are treating their teams so you know what systems you are contributing too, order some to your couch and watch : Half the Sky Turning Oppression into Opportunity Worldwide on PBS is good to start, then Last Week Tonight episode on Sex Work. Yelp
Great service for Sunday brunch. Absolutely loved the girl dinner drink! The chicken nachos were a great starter and we both loved our meals. Very filling taking half home for lunch!

Sarah N.

Yelp
Great food, service is fast and ambiance was fun and lively. Would love to come back to this establishment in the near future. Would recommend the brussel sprouts and burgers for sure!

Kelsey G.

Yelp
New menu for spring / summer is pretty meat focused with the few sandwich choices 3 are beef burgers. I like the old menu with more shareable options such as flatbreads that were once permanent on the menu. It would be great to have the steak tips back as the 14oz sirloin is a lot for one person if eating alone. Overall love coming here but the new menu isn't as inviting.

Yelp
It's hard to go wrong with a trendy brunch place in Southie. This place was really good, great service and food, but I felt like it wasn't anything too special. I would definitely go back, but if you're visiting Boston, I recommend checking out other more unique places for brunch. Not pictured was the basic mimosa I got because it's not brunch without a mimosa. The most delicious part of the meal was the mac and cheese balls. They were amazing! I always need to try the place's mac and cheese and I love when the restaurant takes it to the next level, like a mac ball! I thought it was interesting that they served in on marinara sauce, I didn't think it would work well, but it actually did. We also got the breakfast tacos, which were basic and good, can't go wrong with that. And we also go the banana fosters french toast. This was really good, really sweet though so we couldn't finish it. Overall, good basic brunch and good food.

Liz B.

Yelp
We stopped here for brunch today after a cancer walk down the street. The waitress was great while ordering and serving but then disappeared for a bit too long. The drinks and food were delicious. The home fries were great but had a little spice to it. It was odd that they were not able to do a side of hash though. It was a great find and a place to spot and try!
google avatar

Yelp
This is the first bad review I've written but I felt compelled because of how bad our food was. Here is a pic of my Nashville Hot Chicken Sandwich. A paper thin slice of chicken tendons on cold, dry, crumbly bread. A few pickles and a touch of special spicy aioli. Oh, and a small rind of romaine lettuce
google avatar

Emma T.

Yelp
great place with cool atmosphere. Fried pickles were great and we also got chicken bites which came with a really delicious sauce. And they had a shot and drink combo where you can get a can of your choosing and a shot combination for $11. I also got a mule which was actually spicy but really good

Yelp
Dined here last night. The cuisine was top notch. The music was at a perfect level and was upbeat. Full bar, 2 Bartenders( Chris and Sin Daddy) were killing it) I met the manager Patrick and the chef Dave, 2 stand up guys. I had the Jerk Swordfish Kabobs and they were outstanding. Perfect amount of sweet and heat. My server Stacey was on point all night, keeping my water glass filled at all times. I don't drink, but the cocktails looked great with no too much garnish. Would highly recommend. Keep executing at a high level Local 149!!!!

Yelp
Came in on a rainy Friday and the place was jam packed - we immediately put our names in for a table and began huddling near the bar to grab a couple of stools. The place was packed with small groups and dates so knew this was the place to be on a Friday. We ordered a couple of beers and omg they were pricey - I understand that Maine Beer Co could be considered premium and limited in distribution but $10 for less than a pint is just kind of crazy to me.. We ended up waiting over 45 minutes and actually had to go back up to the hostess to remind her that we were waiting - there was a point where we noticed that there were a couple of tables vacant for more than 10 minutes and nobody else waiting for a table, so we were seated in one of those. Service was quick and friendly once we were seated. We had some time to look around and tacos seemed like the way to go so we each got the tacos and they were delish. We also caught a glimpse of someone's tater tot order and we had to get those too..definitely get the tots as an app. Bottom line is that the set up of the restaurant is cool, the beer is cold and the food is good so maybe give it a shot if you've got some time for a drink before dinner.

Scott H.

Yelp
Food quality is literally worse than fast food. Their burger was clearly right out of the freezer, tough and nasty. Literally Wendy's has a fresher patty. Their buff chip was fire but the chips were f-ing stale. I need my 2nd root canal after chompin on them. Vibes were good but they gotta get better food man. I want this place to succeed but like cmon the quality of food needs to be better than fast food (or at least as good)
google avatar

Rayad S.

Yelp
Went here after a run around the area and decided to cancel out my whole workout by ordering the Fluffernutter and the chocolate cake. Got a Moscow mule to wash it down. The fluffernutter was heavy but good but the chocolate cake was amazing. The Moscow mule was AMAZING mainly because they make their ginger beer in-house so it's very different and SPICY. The staff was friendly although the interaction was minimal. The dining space is classic bar vibes. Overall would definitely go again for the Moscow mule. GET THE MOSCOW MULE. Overall: Food: 7/10 Drinks: 9/10 Service: 9/10 Price: 8/10

Jazzy C.

Yelp
Great atmosphere, simple but tasty menu, but the service is pretty slow. It was quick to get a table but once we were seated our waitress seemed to do everything but take our order or give us our check. It was a slow night as well... maybe she was having a hard day, who knows!

Annie D.

Yelp
Foodies beware! Cute local place with great bar and tvs. Nice staff and servers. Good drinks. The quality of the food was not good. Arugula salad had no bacon, no apple, and swimming in dressing. Small food menu with nothing comforting about it. Place to go get drinks. Fast food chain food is better.
google avatar

Christina L.

Yelp
Cute local spot for a non-busy Sunday brunch. Our party was able to score a booth seat. Honorable food mentions were the nachos, mac and cheese fritters (off-menu item) and the pork and grits. Worth checking out if you're craving American breakfast and still need tv access to watch Sunday football games.

Yelp
Let me paint the picture for you: Monday night, full seating and full bar. We get the last two seats. The bartender is working alone on a 360 bar. (She's crushing it). We order. I have a buttload of annoying food allergies. We order 5 things for 2 people (and their portions are robust); before I know it the manager shows up and tells me the fries I want are fried w/ whatever whatever...I'm like cross-contamination is fine. He's like, no these fries are made to close to X that you're allergic to... helps me understand that this is more than a passing cross-contamination. Long story short, asks me a bunch of specific questions including what extra things he can bring to accommodate us. We get it all sorted out. We see the first round of food come out from afar. Covered in stuff I can't eat. Busy bartender catches immediately and sends it back. Manager comes out to apologize. Sends me everything I wanted to eat including the item that was high risk. He made the kitchen to it entirely in a different method from scratch to make it happen. His name is Carlos. The bartender is Jill. Thank you guys for bringing an above and beyond experience to Southie. I'm usually mortified by my requests and you made me feel so welcomed and well-attended. Local has always been a solid spot among many options but Carlos made it our new go-to place- easy! Xoxo thanks!!

Yelp
Awesome spot in Southie! Stopped in for the first time today for beers and appetizers. Really great vibes here. Definitely a place I could spend hours hanging out. Beer selection is extensive with lots of local options like Cisco. We tried the nachos. They were delicious and huge! Bartenders were very friendly and super attentive. I was very impressed with everything. Will definitely choose Local 149 over the other more notable Southie bars.

Jackie R.

Yelp
Went for a night cap and some chips and guac. They gave us enough guac to feed an army and a dozen chips. We need to look into fixing that ratio. Otherwise just BYOC.
google avatar

Chloe A.

Yelp
A really cute and fun-looking place very close to the water. We sat outside since it was a nice day, and were well distanced from other tables. The food was great! The home fries were amazing-super crispy and well seasoned. The tacos were not too heavy and a great way to start my morning. Only slight issue, recognizing these are hard times, was service was a bit slow. We didn't get water for a while, nor did anyone take our order for a while. This may have been a unique experience since we saw others served more promptly, but just my personal experience that day! A great place to check out, and definitely order something with home fries.

Brian D.

Yelp
Perfect small (local) pub with good food and beer. Limited liquor options but that's fine. Could not have been happier sitting at the bar with my girlfriend.
google avatar

Samrana B.

Yelp
Cute little bar. Went here on a date I had the octopus and chorizo mix that I was skeptical about but turned out to be pretty good. The sweet potato bed really added to the flavor of the octopus. From the time I started this review to now I've been twice. I like their brunch menu a lot! I also happen to be with the said guy mentioned from the first date. All and all, if you don't like this place maybe you'll meet s

Yelp
The first time I went the food and drink was on point, so I returned a week later and ordered the same Boozy Iced Mocha (which I still highly recommend), and the Local 149 Burrito, which was my second choice last time. My friend ordered the breakfast tacos. Both of us were underwhelmed by both of our meals. The saving grace was ordering the Fruity Pebble Waffle Sliders again for brunch dessert, and the espresso martini, which is refreshingly not creamy and is the perfect breakfast coffee drink. I would highly recommend the dishes I tried the first time-- the Eggs Benny and the Waffle Sliders-- as well as the drinks, but now I'm hesitant to return and order anything else off the menu for fear that it will be as disappointing as the burrito and the tacos.

Jenna B.

Yelp
East side staple! I love that this spot is tucked away from the main drag on Broadway - it's busy but not over crowed. very cool and colorful vibe and the food is great. Elevated pub fare - every single one of the apps are great, and so are the mains. Basic, but the steak and cheese rolls are so good! The drink menu is fun and tasty too. This is a favorite spot to take visiting friends and family!

Amanda L.

Yelp
I would like to start off by saying the food was amazing (as always). However, the service we received from Ashley I believe her name was, (blonde hair) was disappointing. From her appearance- wearing short shorts and a belly shirt with her hair down (unsanitary in a restaurant) to her service, made our experience not enjoyable. There were mothers, grandmothers, and young children there for Mothers Day and to see an employee dressed like that was uncomfortable as well as unacceptable. Overall, not the experience we hopped for this holiday. And would really encourage management to reconsidering what they allow their employees to wear.

Yelp
We landed here after a long stroll on Castle Island. The place was full on a Sunday afternoon, buzzing with football fans. We were happy to get a corner table. This place has a really cool decor with walls adorning colorful pop art. We tried the regular Fish and Chips. The fish was crunchy on top and soft and warm on the inside. The accompanying fries were decent as well. In all, a really good game snack as always. Hungry and tired, I opted for a burger. This one had Fried Egg, American cheese, Tomato, Grilled Onions, Lettuce and Local Special Sauce. Frankly, even after being too hungry, I couldn't finish this huge burger. But, in all, the burger was quite good. The meat was decently done, the veggies were fresh and the sauce was delicious. This local specialty of theirs was top-notch.

Yelp
Quick serving, really great food (Philly cheese stakes rooms - amazing). Great location and nice personal.

Yelp
I thought this place wasn't half bad compared to the other reviews! The drinks were really good and the inside was unique too. The chicken sandwich was fresh and delicious. I'd say to stop by the place if you're around!

Yelp
Has a retro mixed with old and craft beer/bourbon-like vibe! It's certainly a fun place with a lot of different drink options. The food was overall good for a surprise party I went to. You can reserve for a small party for one half of the restaurant. The parking is street side so I recommend getting about 10 min earlier on a weekend day.

Beantown T.

Yelp
Not as great as my first two visits. Upscale American is now middle of the road American. The Charred Octopus from the 1st two visits is now out of the delicate care of watchful chefs. Not much taste, rubbery over a cold puree smear. Tough to mess up the long life salad but it was a day old and looked like it limped across finish line. BUT it's a super cool place and we'll certainly be back and love the 'Porky pizza' Super friendly server

Connor S.

Yelp
I have been to this place now 2 times in the last month. I would not recommend. - Nashville hot chicken : 3/10 very dry could probably find a better chicken sandwich at your closest Sub shop. -Thai noodles 2/10 chicken was rubbery. Noodles didnt do it any favors. -buffalo chicken egg rolls 6/10: honestly the most palatable thing I have had there. -burger sliders : 2.5 : basically a White Castle slider that you would find at 7/11.

Yelp
Our one food stop for Massachusetts. We heard about Boston's deep fried Fluffah Nutta and it did not disappoint. The cod was delicious with the yummy Parmesan sauce on top. My two older children loved their burgers (along with 5 options for potatoes - french, sweet, tot, waffle, mashed). Server was EXCELLENT in a friendly and fast way but not overly so. I would love to come back and try their other menu fares. I almost forgot the atmosphere is also entertaining. Okay, bumping it to 5 stars. They deserve it! Dine inside or outside or takeout right now.

Yelp
Just finished eating our dinner that we ordered from this place and I am ready to head to the kitchen to make a sandwich. 22 dollars for a chicken Caesar salad that had a burnt piece of chicken that was like cutting thru shoe leather. A stalk of romaine lettuce that was placed on a grilled and burned and made half of it inedible. With croutons that were just cut pieces of bread that weren't even toasted.

Yelp
We ate at Local 149 this past Saturday night, we live up the street and love this restaurant. We got apps and drinks and had not been waiting too long for our entrees, it was busy. The waiter told us that the kitchen had lost our ticket and he apologized our meals would take some time. We didn't mind, we were not in a rush. The manager then sent us a free round of drinks, free shots, and dessert to make up for the mistake. The entire staff was extremely apologetic. The service is exceptional and the food is amazing. Thank you Local 149!

Yelp
Covid-19 review: First things first, I live right down the street so pre-quarantine this was one of my weekly spots. My word of mouth review to friends stands strongly enough for this place. But I wanted to leave another review to say how much I love and appreciate them during this time. Not only is the food as wonderful as always but it's speedy for pick up. Even through pickup I still believe the food keeps its same exact level of quality. From a local who has had just about everything on the menu my personal recommendations are the excellent chicken sandwich (and if they really like you they might even make it Nashville hot style if you ask nicely but keep it on the down low), the wings and tenders are consistently great and the sauces all shine in their own way. Again, only place in Boston where I can find a decent Nashville hot chicken done well. Finally the burrata salad is so simply but so fresh and balanced. Reminds me of sitting on a sidewalk in California Enjoying a simple yet upscale fresh salad. I love local 149 and cannot wait for them to open back up and continue with trivia nights and taco Tuesday's!

Yelp
I came here with a party of 5 and everything we got for food was great! Service was pretty good. We got the $5 mimosas which was perfect for a Sunday brunch. Definitely recommend coming here!!

Yelp
This place is really THE spot . And there's a reason no one else is around them, bc it's the only spot you need . Best bar, tenders , drinks .. but of course if you want to have more dining experience this is once again THE spot . Never fail, the server/table service is always on point . I mean GREAT food ("not too bad for southie") even better service ..

Yelp
Not very good, had a cheeseburger ordered medium was very rare all red meat inside. More of a bar than restaurant.

Yelp
Always a great time! I love getting the breakfast burger. The service can be lacking at times; hence the 4 versus 5/5 stars.

Yelp
Went here for some food and drinks,we purchased the street corn calamari, some Buffalo chicken sliders, and got some various cocktails. Overall the food was really good, the seasoning on the calamari was alright, it didn't scream street corn, but the breading and cook was good. The drinks were decently priced, I got a green tea shot with a white claw for $9 which was decent, and then a tequila grapefruit one for $12. Theyve been good with covid regulations, and have shield partitions set up between each table for safety reasons. Location is great, it's by the beach,so we also just walked off the alcohol afterwards by doing that.

Yelp
This place is great! The waiters are super friendly, the atmosphere is funky and quirky, and the food is great. It has typical bar food, some non-typical bar food, and truly something for everyone. I've been here for brunch, dinner, and drinks/appetizers and every time I have been happy. This place is a little off of the beaten path in southie so it doesn't get as much foot traffic I don't think, which is a good thing because there is never a wait or too long of a wait. If you go for brunch definitely try their breakfast tacos. They are sooo good and the portion is huge. For dinner I've had a variety of a few different things and everything was delicious! I highly recommend giving this place a try! Definitely a hidden gem of southie.

Yelp
This review is not in regards to an experience while at the restaurant but with the poor customer service that was given when I called earlier this week. I wanted to make a reservation for my grandmother's birthday and a manager named Nicole working at the time had answered when I called. She told me she'd put me on hold while she went to take a look at their books. I'm waiting about 15 minutes until she picks up the phone again and it is apparent that she completely forgot about the fact that I was on the other end. She then proceeded to just hang up on me!! It seemed like it was a panic response?! I felt that the unprofessionalism and her inability to help with something that I thought was simple was worth sharing - I didn't even bother to try calling again and ended up making a reservation elsewhere.

Yelp
I really enjoy this place more than I should, especially during happy hour when the bar bites are half priced. I often get the same things, occasionally trying something new. I've been here maybe 3 -5 times and am never disappointed. DRINKS: They have your regular Captain and coke, a craft beer, and cocktails. I have tried all of them, and shamelessly give them all a nod of approval. I believe that they have a few types of wine as well. Bar Bites: I think I have tried most of them. Fried pickles, Corn dog bites, calamari, wings, beer pretzels, deviled eggs...they really do have a good selection in my opinion.

Yelp
Terrible service. Waiter came to our table 20 minutes after we got seated, and was not helpful.
