"Located in a Renaissance-era palace once owned by the Medici family, Locale is fine dining for craft-cocktail enthusiasts, delivering stellar service under original frescos. The avant-garde cocktail lounge (which won a spot on the World’s 50 Best Bars list in 2022) boasts towering shelves of specialty spirits and an undercurrent of experimental flair. Along with the drinks, emerging young chef Simone Caponnetto prepares an inventive modernist tasting menu with hedonistic tendencies, such as pork liver crepinette (sausage), stuffed squid in Champagne, and parcels of pine nut milk burrata. There are also exquisite bar bites like skirt steak with salsa verde, sweet Tuscan friggitelli peppers, or goat cheese truffle fondue croquettes. Know before you go: Below the main space, there’s an underground science lab, where bartenders concoct artichoke-infused sodas and redistilled gins for herbaceous Americanos and Negronis, house-made kombucha with locally grown saffron, and CBD-vaporized cocktails." - Coral Sisk
"With themed menus, frescos in a former noble family palace, and a bar with an open-air vertical garden, Locale is one of the more fun fine dining spots in all of Italy, not just Florence. Start with the city’s most unique Negroni remixed with vermouth kombucha and floral bitters poured over hand-carved ice blocks. Be sure to get an order of grilled radicchio, chestnut honey, and giardiniera panini from their bar food menu before moving onto the mains. Everything coming out of the kitchen here is going to be excellent, but nothing feels overly serious. We’ve tried dishes like creamy squid ink risotto, wild mushroom tarts with juniper sorbet, and vegetarian porchetta with beets, rainbow chard, and green apple. You’ll definitely need a reservation, but for a fun experimental dinner, this one is worth the effort." - coral sisk, georgette jupe

"Situated within a palazzo full of history, from the medieval basement to the Renaissance-style architecture of the restaurant itself, Locale is also home to an old courtyard with a lounge bar and large cocktail counter, as well as some beautiful rooms to the rear of the building. Enjoy creative, innovative cuisine with personalised touches influenced by the chef’s professional experience around the world (Australia, Japan, France). Our inspector particularly enjoyed the Risoni pasta with cuttlefish liver and cherry tomatoes." - Michelin Inspector
"Locale Firenze is also featured in the upcoming pop-up series at The Roystone." - Erin Russell
