Nestled among the industrial office spaces near Angel Stadium, this cozy Filipino brunch spot is a hidden gem. Make sure to join the waitlist via the QR code at the front, as it's quite popular! On a Saturday morning, the place was buzzing with locals, families, and friends, creating a welcoming atmosphere.
We couldn't resist sampling a bit of everything, ordering the Adobo Fried Rice Omelet, Bang-Silog, Bangus Sisig, and the Ube Tres Leches French Toast (sounds super sweet, I know. but TRUST ME--it's perfectly balanced!).
Our table's favorites were the Bang-Silog and Ube Tres Leches French Toast. The Bang-Silog featured an entire milkfish, deboned, fried to a crispy perfection with a light batter. It was well-seasoned, not overly salty, and retained its fresh flavor. I couldn't resist eating every last bite--even the cheek meat! The fact that it was deboned made the experience more enjoyable, though as always, caution is advised with fish as smaller bones may remain.
The Ube Tres Leches French Toast was a showstopper. We ordered the Ube drizzle on the side to control the sweetness, and it was incredible--decadent, smooth, and rich in flavor. Be warned: it will leave your lips and tongue stained purple, but it's worth it! The French toast itself was fluffy and not too sweet, although we didn't detect much of the tres leches flavor. It leaned more towards a coconut-ube fusion, which was still delicious.
The Adobo Fried Rice Omelet, while good, didn't quite hit the mark for us. We had requested the sauce on the side, which may have impacted the flavor, but the dish lacked the rich, savory tang we expected. It felt more like a simple soy sauce fried rice with chicken.
The Bangus Sisig, also made with milkfish, was served hot on a skillet, with the texture and taste reminiscent of a tuna melt or corned beef. The fish was finely chopped, resembling a ground meat filling, and paired with rice, eggs, and tomatoes for a hearty meal.
Overall, I look forward to returning to explore more of their authentic dishes. I appreciated that nothing was overly salty or sweet--a pleasant surprise!
