"Longwood Gardens, purchased by industrialist Pierre du Pont in 1906, is a little like Philadelphia’s answer to Versailles, with 1,083 acres of themed, manicured gardens. Naturally, spring and summer are the best seasons for florals, but with a Conservatory renowned for its indoor displays, this Kennett Square spot is a popular year-round destination. If you're here in the summer, make sure to check out the Fountain Garden, when a dramatic water show set to classical music is performed several times every day—the Conservatory, with its twinkling lights, trees, and poinsettias, is a must at Christmas." - Regan Stephens, Devra Ferst

Spring flowers at DuPont gardens at Kennett Square ,PA has been on our must see list for over 10 years. There are bus tours available for those with no cars or you can just drive, it’s absolutely worth visiting. They also offer annual memberships which we once again renewed. With fountain shows “Festival of Fountains” in the summer and Christmas displays, there’s always something happening. To plan your visit, you can find schedule of events, classes, fireworks & fountain shows on their website or just go and enjoy, you just can’t go wrong with this venue. Beautiful and well kept grounds and lots to see. There’s always something happening outdoors and indoors. They have a selection of dining choices on the grounds. We just love 1906 Restaurant, definitely book in advance, it’s fairly small, the food is fantastic and it gets booked up fast. The Cafe & Beer Garden offer great food selection as well and are more casual.

Absolutely magical - what I would call a refuel of the soul 🏆✨🪴🌱 Longwood Gardens is beyond words a gem that everyone should experience. Easy parking, kind staff, and absolutely breathtaking views throughout the entire area. Food and beverages were also delicious! Whether a small group, large party, or date night it’s perfect for any and all! We spent 4 hours exploring and could’ve easily spent another 3 - can’t wait to visit again!

What an absolutely stunning place! I had been looking forward to coming to Longwood for many years and it finally happened a few weeks ago! We were able to see the fountain show during the day. It was awesome and our kids loved it too. The rose garden was in full bloom and so so gorgeous! The website said to plan 4 hours, and after 4 hours we realized we could easily spend at least 6! We will definitely plan more time for future visits. Would love to see this place lit up at night. We really enjoyed the water Lillie’s and bonsais as well as the rose garden and fountains. The treehouses were so fun for the kids to climb too!

Finally, at last, I made it to Longwood Gardens in Kennett Square Pennsylvania, and in my opinion I would give 10 stars if that was allowed; the place is more than a tourist gem it is a mini Paradise on Earth, what is missing is the diamonds and precious stones as gravel, the pure gold walkways, the multi-colored singing birds, the hanging fruits on the trees et. you get the idea. Beautiful place beyond the description since so many reviews are positive and describe all. Lots of history behind this 1,000 acres land featuring gardens, woodlands, meadows, jet fountains, mini-cascades or waterfalls, lakes, conservatories such as multiple greenhouses, a historic main greenhouse, fountains, Italian Water Garden, seasonal displays, tree houses, restaurants and/or food courts, even a beer trailer. led colored at night fountains with jets, Peirce-du Pont House, ornamental kitchen garden where they have edible plants and veggies, bonsai courtyard. All and all the place is astoundingly beautiful, relaxing, and inspiring. Highly recommended place to have on your bucket list for visits. For those who love walking or hiking, get ready to add a lot of steps. Also, the place is great for kids since there are treehouses that light up at night, and also the educational center. Very friendly for ADA folks, for elders, families, and groups. Can not describe it all here, but please visit the official website for more info, and for those who can afford highly recommended memberships, donations and voluntariat are welcome.

I can not believe that this is the 1st time that we have been to Longwood Gardens. My wife and I live only a short 1 hour away and we finally decided to visit. We were not disappointed. The amount of flowers and fountains and general flora you can experience is amazing. It's a very relaxing atmosphere with an incredible friendly and helpful staff to help you navigate the gardens, but there are also paper maps and a mobile app of the gardens to guide you. We will be returning soon to see the gardens at night with the lights on the fountains. If you're looking for a relaxing day, this is the place!

Google
Absolutely stunning, year round. The fountain show is a must-see during the early summer season. ⛲️ Breathtaking views all across the gardens, including the open-air courtyard with the water lilies. 🌷🪷🌸 Staff members are super courteous. Beer garden has a decent selection of drinks and cocktails to enjoy while browsing through the attractions. Love it here.

Google
Longwood Gardens is a beautiful place! My mom and went. We took our time. I was able to use a wheelchair for free for my mom. They do rent scooters and strollers. They have guided tours you can go on. The grounds are huge with lots to see! We did not stay for the fountain "show", but hope to go back and see it.

Hands down the most stunning garden I've ever encountered! It's been compared to a world famous palace/garden in Europe but I feel this is deserving of its own category! The grand and unique award winning bathrooms amazed me as well - they were art pieces in its own right. Was here for 5 hours and felt that wasn't enough to enjoy it all. The synchronized music and light show was the perfect ending to this magical destination!

Yelp
My fiancé and I had our engagement photos taken here. It's a great place for photographers to snap amid the blooms in the lush gardens. With acres of gardens, woodlands, and meadows, there are plenty of outdoor and indoor photographic options. Restrooms: Most restrooms and drinking fountains are wheelchair-accessible. Changing tables are available in each of the restrooms. Also, there are private nursing room along the Green Wall in the Conservatory. Picnic area: Picnic tables available on a first-come, first-served basis.

Yelp
Longwood Gardens is amazing and wonderful garden for all ages. You'll see different kinds of flowers around it plus the magical hands of the staffs in designing the leaves and shaping it plus taking care of the plants. Staff are very well organized, friendly, courteous and helpful. For bird watchers, you can see different birds around the area with their chirping music which adds to beauty of the place. Wonders of nature. As for food there's a bunch of places wherein you can order the usual pizza, sandwiches, salads, variety of drinks etc. We did enjoy our visit here. We would definitely be coming back to this place soon.

Yelp
Longwood Garden is simply beautiful and there is something for everyone from kids to grownups. We enjoyed our visit here today. I have been here many times and at different seasons. This was my first time seeing all the tulips. Do get tickets in advance as they often sell out. Even though our visit was sold out, it didn't seem crowded to me. Parking is free. There are places to eat if you want to eat there. A self service Cafe is convenient with lots of seating indoors and out. There is an outdoor fountain area that does a show every half hour I think. Check for times and see it. There is a children's garden inside that is adorable. The kids will love it. Lots of walking outdoors and things to see. It is wheelchair accessible. A membership is pretty affordable. I would get one if I lived nearby. Longwood is really popular at Christmas. It is so beautiful with all the flowers and decorations. I don't know how they do it but every time you go, it's different.

Jason S.

Yelp
Definitely a must see attraction. Pros: sprawling acreage, chock full of water features/ fountains, flora and some historical architectural accompaniments. Did I mention an organ? Yes! An organ ! After all, what garden would be complete without one? Cons: prepare to walk, skip, or stroll everywhere also, there can be crowds (so plan accordingly). In addition, there is currently a summer concert series which features an amazing fountain show after dark that family members of all ages would enjoy.

Yelp
Wow, what an amazing place to visit! My friend and I were there for 4 hours and only managed to see about half of the estate. We walked through the gardens but my favorite place was the conservatory. There were so many beautiful plants to see, along with the amazing etched glass on the ballroom ceiling and the organ with over 10,000 pipes. We caught a show where they played classical music to synchronized water fountain movements that was pretty cool. Although it was a beautiful sunny day, we did not feel like it was too crowded, probably due to them only allowing a certain number of people to enter at a time (buy your tickets online in advance). I would definitely visit again when I'm back in the area.

Wendy C.

Yelp
Notes: (1) Parking is free (2) Access card entrance is only $2 for those eligible, otherwise entrance was about $25-32 in the spring (3) Strollers available for rent (4) Restrooms are only available in certain buildings so look at the map before going to plan on breaks The garden is absolutely beautiful and big! Be prepare to walk for at least three hours if you want to see the whole thing. Our favorite spot was the conservatory which had amazing views and a kids play area with various sensory activities. In terms of stroller accessibility, I do think that it is there but you just have to take the longer routes as it's mostly for walking. The restaurant was closed during our visit but we had a wonderful time walking and looking at nature. Absolutely recommend it if you want to get away from the city and clear your mind while letting the kids run wild.

Cynthia F.

Yelp
Absolutely beautiful and peaceful here! There are so many gorgeous plants and flowers to see. The place is huge so be prepared to walk. All the workers were very helpful when asked questions. My daughter especially loved the tree house. They don't have much as far as food and what they do have is expensive so we just ate afterwards. I definitely recommend Longwood Gardens!!!

Vanessa L.

Yelp
I heard so much about the year round Longwood Gardens, and for good reason. It's a large walk through indoor and outdoor Conservatory with rented skooters for those with respective handicaps. They also have their own EMS crew available as well. And the workers could not be more polite or helpful especially as we unfortunately had a late time reserved. Depending on inclement weather, especially with all of the rain lately, some of the grounds can get muddy but are still impeccably maintained. Still, not the best places to wear your fanciest footwear. There's several food stands on site with a restaurant though neither are available in the evening hours. The holiday lights are fun and interactive for the family. I attended with my husband, who does have to utilize a skooter and is a bit claustrophobic, admitted he enjoyed all of it. That said, we would definitely make a return trip in the Spring!

Jen B.

Yelp
Wow! Do I need to say more? What more can I even say? I was blown away by Longwood Gardens and I truly hope I get to go back for the Christmas displays. My friend is a member and I've seen her photos from time to time but this was so much more. The place is beautiful and worthy of a stroll. We didn't even see it all and I'm still impressed. From the organ to the fountains and then every flower and plant in between. We walked the meadow and through the conservatory. Water gardens are coming!!! I can't wait. Go check it out and explore for the day. The weather was perfect and I can see many strolls through there coming my way once I move up.

Delvia W.

Yelp
Rain Snow sleet or hail, Longwood gardens does not close due to inclement weather, and there's a NO REFUND policy, so we pulled up in the pouring rain. The conservatory is where one of the workers suggested we start. It was beautiful and hot in there!! The flowers were amazing! The workers were helpful and gave us a brief history. After the conservatory, you walk the grounds to see the trees and lights. So pretty at night! I wouldn't suggest going during the day, what would be the pros purpose. If you're going at night, dress warm! I went to the 9pm timed slot. It was raining hard, so we cut the outdoor walk short. Overall we enjoyed the views and Eye looking forward to going bsck,z

Yia-Ming L.

Yelp
One of the best gardens around! I love that every season is something different and special. The floral arrangements during the spring and summer are always so gorgeous. The light shows during the summer and winter seasons are spectacular! It's so easy to just roam and get lost in the garden for hours. The gardeners and arborists are all super helpful. They're usually easy to find and knowledge about the plants and flowers in the garden or giving directions.

Sofi M.

Yelp
A very beautiful and amazing place! I was glad to have a walk with my family. There're also a cozy restaurant and cafe where we had dinner and desserts. Everything is clean, purify and neat.

Dee D.

Yelp
Absolutely fabulous. We had a wonderful day that began in the conservatory. We walked the grounds for about 2:45 minutes. There were many areas closed for maintenance, but we still enjoyed what we saw. Looking forward to visiting in the spring. There were plenty of volunteers around to say hello and talk about the flowers. The grounds people were friendly and exchanged hellos and explained what they were doing example, seeding the grass. There was only a temporary cafe open; however, we passed.

Yelp
Longwood Gardens is a MUST DO. From the moment that you arrive, you are surrounded by beauty, elegance, and well manicured gardens. You'll need to traverse over 4 miles, in order to take in everything that these gardens have to offer. From a huge indoor, plant filled, garden..... to dancing fountains.....waterfalls.....to a fairytale bell tower.... you will think that you are in a dream. Even the café, where you can get everything from a quick snack to a full meal, is beautiful. Their gift shop is very large and has every imaginable Longwood item, including plants for sale, and even cooking items. Aside from telling you that it's mandatory.....please, visit Longwood Gardens and enjoy your time in this "dream."

Lauren C.

Yelp
This is my new happy place. I was so impressed with how well the garden and landscaping was preserved. Everything is so well manicured. You can spend all day here. You'll need at least 4-5 hours to see everything. Highly recommend!

Brittiny T.

Yelp
Longwood is an area staple. They always do a big light show during Christmas time, it's self guided and walking. I thought it was cute. For being a Christmas lights event I was a little disappointed, they didn't take advantage of the outdoor space as much as I have experienced at other places. It's clean, and has a couple places sprinkled throughout the property that you can do s'mores, buy hot chocolate and food, small train exhibit, etc. the tree houses were underwhelming with their lights. All in all I'm not really sure the hype around seeing Christmas lights here versus anywhere else. Or somewhere that is drive-able, especially in the winter in the northeast.

Elizabeth M.

Yelp
Large, extensively so, this garden will leave you awed and enthralled. With everything from water gardens to fountains to topiaries to conservatories, Longwood has a little bit of everything. Not only do they have most aspects of garden accounted for, they are expanding to include several reimagined and new areas to their garden experience. Coming soon there will be a new conservatory to look forward to as well. Very excited, not only to return, but to also see all the new additions they are opening in fall of 2024. When we visit, we tend to start to the right and work our way through the gardens ending up in the conservatory last. After seeing everything and reacquainting ourselves with the garden, we often backtrack to view our favorites again. Once we have finish up with viewing the gardens, we always make sure to stop by the gift shop to see what new plants and goodies they have on offer. This trip, I left with another beautiful orchid and some accompanying pieces. Can't wait to return for another visit soon!

Pattie R.

Yelp
Are members! Have visited several times a year. We love going for Holidays and specials events! Always leave thrilled with what we witnessed. Unfortunately we haven't dined there were too late for reservations. Our family makes the time to visit together. Just adore the Gardens!

Kim M.

Yelp
Purchased tickets online then had to change our date. I called and was told this would be a 8.00 fee and the next day was available. We had a 12:30 afternoon time slot and it was crowded but not packed. We walked the grounds and the conservatory and it was very pretty but I'm sure it would have been nicer at night to see the trees lit. We decided to have lunch here and went to the cafe. We all had the turkey platter and the turkey, stuffing and potatoes were excellent but the cranberry had an odd seasoning in it that I didn't care for and the prices were a bit high at 24.00 each. Finding a place to sit was pure chaos. It would have been nice if they had staff help with seating. We all kept walking in and out of rooms to find an open table and finally decided to stand and eat at a high top. Lastly we went to the gift shop, where they had a wonderful selection of decorations and gifts. Overall this was a very nice day and I am looking forward to returning in the summer months.

Richard A.

Yelp
This is one of the best gardens on the east coast. Right now there in their Spring Bloom. It as a few outside areas in bloom. There is a lot of room in the conservatory. They are also into a major addition to the facility. It's a few years away from being completed, it will take the garden to the next level. The best time to visit is during the Christmas holidays.

Beth R.

Yelp
Beautiful and huge gardens about an hour drive south of Philadelphia. Exquisite landscape and gardens. They have regular fountain shows (think Bellagio at a garden). The gem of the visit was the children's garden in the conservatory. Even if you don't have a child with you, go see it. It's magical. They also have tree houses around the site which are fun to climb up into. They have a fancy restaurant, cafe and beer garden. We ate at the cafe and it was delicious. Sat outside at a covered table and enjoyed the scenery. A great way to spend a morning, afternoon, or day.

Kathleen B.

Yelp
My amazing hubby and I go every year on his birthday and our anniversary The conservatory, gardens, Restaurant and classes are amazing. Check out the Webb house and take a golf cart ride back to the Italian fountains.

Jasmine S.

Yelp
$25 for this place is a STEAL! Bought tickets to see their Winter Wonderland the day before it was set to close and the place was packed! Definitely get tickets in advance for priority entry. I grabbed a map but enjoyed walking the property just by seeing where my eye was led. As the season is still young there weren't many flowers in bloom and most trees were still bare, but the property is gorgeous and well maintained. Staff is everywhere in case you have questions which was nice! I can't wait to see when they start running the fountains and I can see they are planning to extend the gardens out which by the looks of it will be pretty epic. The conservatory is the highlight of your visit here by far ! It is an Oasis! Could've stayed forever but it gets packed which can be a minor irritant. They had rare blue poppies on view so I had to get a photo ! So beautiful! Apparently there is a beer garden which was closed as well for the season but I'm sure in the summer is probably a great place to stop during your stay. Don't forget to visit the garden shop on the way out: great finds and small plants for purchase for $5 ! Crazy this place was once someone's home, now it's all of ours :)

Mark H.

Yelp
I come here whenever I visit the area! Allow 5 to 10 minutes to walk from the car park to the entrance. Might bring snacks, and a battery pack for your devices. Good WiFi near the main attractions and Webb Farmhouse. First day of A Longwood Christmas! Afternoon sunlight and some great fall colors still left. Good cream of mushroom soup and cornbread in the cafe. The Forest Walk was OK with city shoes. Needs more restrooms with more stalls. Restrooms in the pump house or near the 1906 Room are less busy. It would be good to buy savory snacks from food carts as well as sweet treats. Even I can have too much hot chocolate! Quite difficult to enter or exit

Kangni X.

Yelp
Can't express how beautiful this place is. I spent a full 4.5hours walking through. Unfortunately the season wasn't the best for outside plants but the conservatory made up for it. I went back to the conservatory at the end and just basked in the smell of fresh lilies and greenery. It would be helpful for them to list when certain areas are in bloom such as the peony garden or wisteria garden. The meadow was also pretty brown. July/August would be great for these outside areas. But the magnolia and cherry blossom trees were in full bloom. They're also doing construction to expand the conservatory which I'm super excited about!! There are also house exhibits that provide the history of the gardens and Pierre du Pont who built it. The cafe also has a great pot pie and mushroom soup!

C. B.

Yelp
This is an amazing garden once owned by the DuPont family. There are perennial borders, forested, Italian, French and kitchen gardens. So much to see! There are also gorgeous conservatories from the 1920's. We had a very nice lunch from their cafe, and they have both indoor and outdoor seating. The gift shop has live plants, pots, books, jewelry, etc., and is quite large. There are special events too.

K. J.

Yelp
1 Star for Bathrooms!! Bathrooms are terrible for toddlers/infants!! I used 2 of their bathrooms and their changing stations are by the door. Why??? There's no privacy for the changing stations but out in the open for everyone to see. The second bathroom that we used was even more horrendous. There was very little room and with the changing station being by the door, we literally had people about a couple feet away from us, standing in line to use the restroom while I was changing my child's diaper. It was awful!!!! For parents, if possible, for toddlers, I'd recommend changing them in the stalls. ***Management, please move the changing stations to one of the stalls. 4 Stars for everything else.

Raymond J.

Yelp
Beautiful area to go for a date. Get a good walk going and let 3 hours fly by beautiful flowers and scenery that is well crafted and meticulously beautiful! Food and gift shop prices were beyond steep so they lose a star. It was a great preview as all the talk around is Christmas is the time to go. You have to check it out for yourself!

Mat G.

Yelp
Spectacular, marvelous, special, grandeur, beautiful, magnificent, amazing...all these words perfectly summarize the gorgeous Longwood Gardens

Emma G.

Yelp
I don't know much about flowers or anything botanical really, but even I could tell this place is pretty legit. I came by here midday yesterday with my cousin chums, both of whom are just utter wealths of knowledge about these gardens and should probably pen their own reviews - I'm pretty much just going to tell you everything looked nice. It was an oppressively hot day, which isn't exactly ideal for strolling around for an hour or two, but we did at least get the benefit of seeing how Longwood handles that type of extreme weather for its visitors. The minute we walked through the Visitor Center into the actual gardens, we were greeted by one of the volunteers who provided recommendations on spots to visit based on their air conditioning/cooling situation. They had a few giant fan/mobile air conditioning stations set up in some of the buildings that were helpful for mild, near-term cooling, but I didn't really get the point of the ones that were outside by the paths - I walked by a few of those and didn't really notice any difference in temperature so those just seemed to be there to be there. Still, an effort was definitely made in this regard, which I appreciated. In that same vein, I like that you can bring your own water in and aren't being upcharged for access to a water bottle or anything like that. We got there just in time for one of the fountain shows, which was pretty cool. It was done to the musical accompaniment of Jet Song from West Side Story and lasted for probably five to 10 minutes. I thought it would have been neat if they'd figured out a way to sort of choreograph/mimic an actual Jets/Sharks rumble with the competing fountains, but I have no idea if that's even possible to do with giant fountains in 2023. And I'm also not sure how you would make it obvious to casual observers what was going on without some special effects, but that's my only mild constructive feedback in that regard. My favorite area was the Conservatory. It had some very cool optics and even for someone like me who can identify a rose and not much else, there's a lot of edgy flowers and plants to catch your attention. My favorite was (and yes, I know it's VERY obvious I don't know what I'm talking about) this leafy thing with almost fuchsia coloring that reminded me of Predator when the alien bled all over the leaves, thus confirming its mortality. I'm sure it has other botanical-like selling points as well. The gift shop was pretty legit as well. I found a birthday present for my gardening mother there, and it had a very wide variety of items for purchase, including standard merchandise and a ton of tools and plants to stock up your personal garden shed. Life pro tip - go in there with someone who has a membership/10% discount. Even for an unsophisticated creature like myself, this is a pretty strong recommend. I'd PROBABLY suggest not coming when the heat index is over 100, which may have happened here, but I imagine you can get a lot out of this place year-round, depending on your objectives.

Taina R.

Yelp
We decided to visit in the winter. First time here and I'll be back in late spring. Nothing interesting outside as there's no flowers blooming, the trees are bare and it's cold. The construction from the new building they're building is going to be so beautiful once done. In the conservatory it was beautiful! I could stay in there all day! At the gift shop I bought two plants ! Their plant prices were not expensive. Service in the gift shop and in the cafe was very inviting. The cafe they had I feel the prices were spiked up, but it's ok. I just got a pound cake & water. My husband got chips.

Erica O.

Yelp
Bus trip with our Syracuse Nursery, Ballantyne gardens. This facility is beyond words. We walked the grounds but spent almost all our time in the beautiful conservatory. An enormous set of rooms and spaces filled with their winter display of flowers. Every single employee we encountered was very friendly and very helpful, and thanked us for coming. The gardens and grounds were owned by the Duponts and the "Golden Age" is very much evident in the conservatory. Fountains, water features, chandeliers, piano and so many amazing plants fill the space. I can't wait to come back when the outdoor displays are in full bloom.

Jody S.

Yelp
So we originally got tickets to go to Longwood Gardens for Mother's Day 2022 but the day of, it was a rainy miserable day so we received a credit for a future date. Since we heard the holidays was one of the best times to go we decided to utilize our tickets during our holiday adventures. It was cold day and knowing a good portion of the adventure was outdoors, we dressed accordingly. There was a group of adults and my toddler dressed in multiple layers. We also brought a stroller for the times my little one became tired of walking/running around. There is a lot of ground to cover so I also suggest wearing comfortable shoes. We had tickets for mid afternoon and stayed until late evening so we were able to see the beautiful grounds in the day and beautiful lighting at night. We took a meal break during the sundown transition with decent not great food and beverages, which was very pricey but it was a part of the total experience. Also during the holiday season, be prepared to wait in long lines for food, as it is very crowded. All in all it was a great day and looking forward to experiencing it again during the spring or summer.

Dinesh A.

Yelp
Online ticket website was funky. Said tickets were all gone for the day but they weren't. Otherwise had an amazing experience. The light show was gorgeous and creative and really popped at night. The garden was much larger than expected. My s10 cell camera couldn't handle it. Reduce the iso and adjust the saturation manually via the Pro camera options to take better pics. Or get a better camera, lol.

Yelp
There's a reason why Longwood Gardens has a stellar reputation, especially for its Christmas display. You can't beat how beautiful the Christmas trees are here, each with its own unique theme. I spent a few hours mostly at the Conservatory, and I just need to come back for another visit in the spring. It was busy but not overly crowded on a Saturday before Christmas. There was plenty of parking and enough restrooms. Also shoutout for the mother's room, which was a great relief while traveling with an infant. I also had a delicious hot chocolate and came home with a chocolate bar from the gift shop. Next time I'll try more snacks.

Yelp
It was rainy when we went for the Longwood Christmas event, but it was still very enjoyable. Some of the displays was blocked off for safety so it was unfortunate. The conservatory was amazing with all the Christmas tree displays and I really enjoyed looking at their orchid collection. Will definitely come back. They have several bathrooms that are "elevated port o potty" where they have heat and running water to wash your hands. It's also pretty spacious inside as well.

Yelp
Longwood Gardens is truly an amazing place! The cleanliness and well-maintained paths made exploring a joy. The circular layout ensures you don't miss anything, and the Christmas lights added a magical touch. My only hiccup was the popularity--booking tickets in advance is a must, as it tends to sell out. On the bright side, parking was ample, making it a worthwhile visit overall.

Yelp
I want to come back. There, I said it. I popped in on a whim on a glorious fall day. A friend who lives nearby is a member and mentioned she'd join me and bring me in as her guest. SCORE. Thank you, friend. I won't repeat what others have said, but my favorite place was the conservatory. When I lived in London, Kew Gardens was one of my favorite places - Longwood Garden is aaaaaalmost as fabulous. Shhhhh. Loved the gift shop - and you don't even need to enter and pay in order to peruse the goods.

Yelp
Wonderful trip seeing the Christmas decorations at Longwood gardens! Since we went around the thanksgiving holiday we booked our tickets in advance online. It was good thing too since they sold out for the day. Our tickets were for later in the evening so we were able to park in the normal parking lot. They did have shuttles to go to the overflow parking lot. Once we arrived it was easy to enter the gardens after scanning the tickets. There was no line to get in. They had physical maps you could grab and also a digital map. There were different food and drink vendors open but we did not try anything. Throughout the gardens there were different staff members to help out if needed. There was so much to see and lots of fun lights! Overall a great experience celebrating the holiday season

Yelp
B-E-A-utiful!!! This was my first time going to Longwood Gardens but I had been wanting to check this place out for years! We finally made the trip to get a glimpse of the Christmas decorations before they were taking it down and even though it was during the day and the lights were not on, it was still a gorgeous place! If we did not have other plans, we probably would have stuck around for the lights! Considering it was the morning/afternoon, it was still very crowded and a lot of families with young children were in attendance. The main conservatory was amazing to walk through with the combination of the everyday plants and Christmas plants intertwined. The thoughtfulness that went into curating the main area was astounding! They also had a small room where they displayed creations from local schools/student was very cute too! They have other buildings there you can walk through but it is not as large and given the cold weather, the fountains were not on except 1 past the beer garden that we got to see. We did not check out the beer garden or the cafe during our trip, but it was pretty crowded when walking by. They were also doing some construction so it appears that they are probably doing some sort of extension, so I would be excited to go back when they're complete. The gift shop is also available by the entrance. The items there are a bit pricey, if you are a member, you get 10% off your purchase. I don't know the cost of the membership since we did a day trip. While the items are pricey, the plants I felt like were very reasonably priced. I did purchase 3 plants on my trip and no regrets whatsoever!

Yelp
A garden experience of its own. You need a full day in order to fully enjoy the gardens, fountains, and conservatory. It is worth looking at the upcoming activities to add to the experience.

Yelp
A miserable afternoon. If I had a dollar for every kid having a Christmas meltdown, I could afford a snack in their embarrassingly over-priced cafeteria (which serves airline style food.) Sure, the lights are pretty. But If you've seen this overrated Christmas display once already, you're good for life.

Yelp
Always beautiful, but especially so around the holidays. I recommend arriving mid to late afternoon and staying at least a few hours after dark.

Yelp
Excellent, creative experience for the entire family. A magical place so very well thought out. A must see at all seasons. For the holidays, be sure to get your timed tickets. See my holiday photos to get a flavor for the magic that awaits.

Yelp
Longwood Gardens... where do I even start?! It is breathtakingly beautiful! It's so tempting to post more photos, but I don't want to ruin it for everyone! The gardens are magnificent and enchanting, you'd think you're walking through the Garden of Eden. There are so many beautiful plants and trees throughout the conservatory and garden, and from all over the world, from the USA, to India, to Australia. Upon arriving, we were greeted by friendly staff, given a map of the grounds and directed into the garden. Everyone was so nice and friendly, and even offered to take our pictures. We started off in the topiary garden and waited until the main fountain garden performances to then venture out. The fountain show was beautiful, and we took so many pictures. In all, it took us almost 5 hours to walk the entire garden, including a break in-between for lunch. There's a cafe, with plenty of nice options for vegans and non-vegans, or you can enjoy fine-dining at Longwood's restaurant, 1906. It was a truly beautiful experience. We enjoyed all the different gardens, the fountain show, and learned a little bit of history at the Pierce-du Pont House. A must see and experience if you're in the area!

Yelp
Cool to spend a good half day here especially to see the lights at night, I haven't been back here in forever! The water fountain light show was great, they have it on Thursdays through Sundays at night. The Illuminated Fountain Performances start at 9:15 pm and lasted about 30-45 minutes. People put seats out to save a good spot. You can see them if you stand in the back too. I think that actually is a better view and you can see everything. Loved the lollipop lights, those are so cool too (Light: Installations by Bruce Munro). They have a few different locations for these light installations you can check out, it's very easy to get lost in the dark if you don't follow the crowd. Not a lot of lights when you're walking around in the dark so make sure you know where you're headed! There's a hidden waterfall under the fountain if you walk around there. It looks pretty cool with purple lights. Ticket prices are cheaper if you go earlier, click around different times to see if you can get a better deal. Food options are quite limited and the lines are crazy long. Still a good experience overall and highly recommended!

Yelp
We love Longwood Gardens. The restaurant use to be great but not anymore. Had terrible meal there. Sautéed mushrooms were so salted and peppery we couldn't eat them. The scallops were small. Am the dish was poorly crafted. The inside of the restaurant use to have white tablecloths. It had the appearance of fine dining, now it looks like a friendlys fast food place. Very disappointing for such a beautiful place. 1 star review

Yelp
During my trip to Philadelphia, I had the opportunity to explore Longwood Gardens, and I have to say it was one of the most stunning botanical gardens I've ever visited. I'm really glad I made the decision to go because I would have regretted missing out on such a remarkable experience. Longwood Gardens truly exceeded my expectations and offered something for everyone, especially photography enthusiasts like myself. Every area of the garden was a potential photo op, with its carefully curated landscapes and vibrant displays. It was a joy to capture the beauty of the gardens through my lens. The attention to detail and the sheer beauty of Longwood Gardens were truly mesmerizing. As I strolled along the pathways, I was treated to a feast for the senses--lush colors, delightful scents, and a serene atmosphere. It was a captivating and inspiring experience. If you ever find yourself in Philadelphia, I highly recommend paying a visit to Longwood Gardens. It's a must-see destination that will leave you in awe of nature's wonders and provide ample opportunities to capture stunning photographs. Trust me, you won't be disappointed.

Yelp
We visited this place in December. It was amazing!!! Coming from Hawaii, I have seen nothing like it, The outdoor lighting, tree houses, tunnels of lights, yes it was cold but there is hot cocoa to warm you up and a fire pit along the trail as well. But the Conservatory, it was beautiful! It was well preserved!!! I'm curious to see what it looks like during other seasons of the year, but I'm sure winter is the best. I would definitely go again. Just absolutely beautiful!!!!

Yelp
Went here with a friend who lives in the area. What a well maintained property. Note * Tickets can be bought during a certain time slot and you must hy tickets in advance especially on the weekends as it gets sold out. We arrived on time and were promptly let into the gardens. We wondered around looking at all the beautiful trees, flowers and tree houses. You can easily spend half a day wondering around here. There were also many beautiful fountains as well as the famous fountain show. We also were lucky enough to see the light exhibit outside it was so beautiful with all the different colors lighting up the lawn. I also had a chance to get a glass of cabernet and try their pretzel. Cab was great for $10, the pretzel since it was sitting there was cold and came with no dipping sauces so it was uneventful to eat. They also have many different other food options and drink options throughout the park
