Handmade flour tortillas, flavorful tacos, bowls, & guacamole

"One of our favorite rooftop bars, Cha Cha Cha, has added a new speakeasy to their Arts District space. Called La Barra, this walk-in-only bar serves a completely different food and drinks menu (think carnitas-filled tacos dorados and carrot flan smeared thick with cream cheese frosting) in a bright, airy space. There are palm trees in full bloom, plenty of rattan furniture, and vibrant cocktails infused with everything from mezcal to smoked nopales to Oaxacan rum. We haven’t been here yet, but want you to know this spot exists." - Team Infatuation

"Loqui is the perfect spot for a casual and affordable lunch in the Arts District. The Mexican menu of chicken, pork, beef, and mushroom tacos served on handmade flour or corn tortillas is priced under $7 a pop." - Cathy Chaplin, Eater Staff

"I’m excited that Loqui, the multi-unit taqueria famed for some of LA’s best flour tortillas, is launching breakfast at its Arts District location, beginning to sell steak-and-egg, chorizo-and-egg, and nopales-and-egg tacos starting at 8 a.m." - Farley Elliott
"The second location of Culver City’s great taco spot Loqui is a lot like the original: You order at the counter, there’s a nice little patio, and they’ve got utterly fantastic flour tortillas, made in-house. You should always opt for them over the corn ones, especially if you order one of Loqui’s combo plates, because then you can use the soft, Frisbee-sized tortillas to scoop up the rice, guacamole, protein (our favorite is the chicken), and pinto beans. When you’re in the Arts District and want something affordable - but also want to be able to sit down and maybe have a beer while you eat - Loqui is a great option. Just make sure to get a pack of tortillas to go." - Brett Keating

"Opened quietly earlier this week, the Arts District outpost has fully expanded Loqui to 818 E. 3rd St. #150 in Los Angeles; ownership says the space and menu feel much the same as the first Platform address in Culver City but with even more outdoor seating, and beer and wine will arrive in a few months. The menu features a mix of chicken, pork, beef, and mushroom preparations served on handmade flour or corn tortillas for around $5 apiece, and I’m curious to see how it plays with greater Downtown crowds—Tacos 1986’s off‑menu perron and Sonoratown’s flour tortillas are not far away, while Boyle Heights and East LA sit just over the bridge. Loqui is open daily from 11 a.m. to 10 p.m." - Farley Elliott
