The Most Underrated Restaurants in Seattle | Eater Seattle

"A quick glance at this stall in the Uwajimaya food court might make you think it’s a taco stand, but at Los Costeños, the sandwiches are the point. Owner Francisco Mendoza previously worked at Un Bien, and his big sandos are made with the same crazy-flavorful roast mojo pork, but he packs these things with meat like it’s a contest, and they’re a few bucks cheaper as well. You can also add ham and Swiss to the pork sandwich, if he didn’t put enough pork on there for you. The seafood sandwiches — especially the garlic cod or garlic scallop with green olive tapenade — are standouts too. They’re all a giant mess, so if you don’t feel like wearing your sandwich, make sure to grab a table and about a dozen napkins. –Meg van Huygen" - Eater Staff

The 9 Best Breakfast Burritos In Seattle

"Los Costeños is a Mexican food stand at the Uwajimaya food court that you should prioritize for its giant breakfast burrito—which, unlike many other places, is served all day. There are bacon, sausage, and grilled vegetable options, but be sure to get the salty chorizo. Pork-flavored oil weaves through scrambled eggs and chunks of crispy skin-on red potatoes, while a surplus of melty cheese oozes over black beans like a zen fountain in a doctor's office. Los Costeños - Review - International District - Seattle - The Infatuation

"Los Costeños is a Mexican food stand at the Uwajimaya food court that serves pork shoulder sandwiches and great plates of spicy seafood. But you should prioritize their giant breakfast burrito—which, unlike many other places, is served all day. There are bacon, sausage, and grilled vegetable options, but be sure to get the salty chorizo. Pork-flavored oil weaves through scrambled eggs and chunks of crispy skin-on red potatoes, while a surplus of melty cheese oozes over heaps of black beans like a zen fountain in a doctor's office. The best breakfast burrito of my life. Warm, soft, flaky tortilla that holds the beautiful mix inside. Inside is a delicate mix on the verge of being too wet, but the potatoes, eggs, and cheese bind everything together. I was expecting a messy experience, but I didn't lose a single black bean or dripping from the bottom. Expertly rolled, and for $12, I couldn't even finish. Highly recommend this spot. I almost walked right by.

Genuinely astoundingly good sandwich. I got the pork shoulder sandwich, trying this place on a whim. Bread was of exceptional quality, pork shoulder was moist with a pineapple/orangey back flavor, vegetables were crisp and solid. The whole thing came together flawlessly.

I got the pork nachos. They were so good!!! Completely different than any type nachos I've had before since they were made with birra meat. My family thought I was weird getting Mexican inside can Asian food market, but I won!! So tasty. My kid did pick out the peas and carrots, but I think they made the nachos better. V

This is a great place for a real meal. The plates have generous portions at great prices and you'll actually get vegetable, protein and carb! They also let you customize how spicy you want your dish. I tried a 4 on a 1-5 scale and it wasn't very hot, so those more experienced with spice could easily do a 5, if you're not very interested, a 2 will still have some flavor and not knock your socks off into next Tuesday. I can't wait to return and try more dishes!

My stars! This place is a hidden gem! The garlic shrimp and huli huli sandwiches are absolutely amazing! Delicious and packed with flavor! A must try if you’re in downtown Seattle!

This place is incredible. Their Huli Huli chicken thigh sandwich is my favorite sandwich I’ve ever had. It is messy, but it’s also an incredible value and extremely tasty. Highly recommend checking this place out! The beans are also so good.

It seems really random and strange that they're the ONLY non-Asian food in the Uwajimaya food court but when my homie raved about it and compared it to Paseo, I had to try. He was right. The garlic shrimp sandwich is FIRE. so flavorful, hot, messy, satisfying! They also haven't jacked up their prices like the rest of Seattle (knock on wood). I'll definitely be returning.
