Yo they have the BEST TACOS around. I loved trying their food at Market Fridays at Cadillac Square yesterday. My cousin and I received amazing service and the chicken tacos were very flavorful along with the quesadillas. 10/10 for sure.

I was at the Detroit Bike Summit and asked for a veggie burrito with no cheese and the burrito had cheese on it. Instead of enjoying the event and the group ride afterwards I had to go home because I knew it would make me feel ill, because I've been vegan for years. The portion of the burrito I ate before realizing it had cheese was very bland. Extremely disappointing.

Google
The tacos have great flavor, but the $4 side of rice and beans literally has a single plastic spoonful worth of beans. I went back and asked them to remedy this issue as it isn't honest and right. They refused. Buyer Beware!

I am on the fundraising committee for a local nonprofit organization. Los Dos Amigos was a food truck vendor for our fundraiser car show this past weekend and I was blown away. For starters, the employees were so nice. In addition, their customer service was outstanding. The food was amazing! Everyone at the car show loved the food. The food had so much flavor. Overall, it was a 10/10 experience. I would highly recommend this business to anyone looking for great food to enjoy or to other companies/organizations looking to have them at your next event! I know our organization will definitely be requesting their services in the future! Thank you Los Dos Amigos for everything, you were amazing! (:

Google
My favorite taco truck by far. The quesadilla are the best of any that I've ever had, I always get the chicken ones. Their tostadas are awesome also, I recommend the ceviche ones. This is a popular food truck, many of the locals will tell you about it. On certain days at the right time, you may see a long line. They do work fast, but I've never had a problem with the food or my order. I would recommend anyone to try Los Dos Amigos Taco truck.

Google
Some of the best and most authentic Spanish food I've had since I left Texas. Very good customer service as well and the food was prepared timely. Not to mention the fact that it was for a damn good price too! All around great place to eat and I definitely will be back for more.

Yelp
I love this food truck. Mostly because of the tortas I confess. I don't know why more trucks don't feature tortas. You have everything you need to make them, just add bread to your stocking list. My parents loved their asada tortas I brought them. I myself prefer my go to Mexican meat of choice, al pastor whether I get a torta, tacos or a quesadilla. Really it's a personal choice but if you like pork at all I'd opt for their juicy perfect pastor no matter what type of entree you pick. My husband liked his chicken burrito quite a bit, he is not a torta guy and despite his love of pork and pineapple he is not huge into al pastor. Weirdo. The salsa here is tasty, I get extra because I like a messy, drippy type torta that requires several napkins and a possible save with a tide stain stick pen to the shirt front. The chips are decent and the salsas great but at the price for chips and salsa you're better off adding a taco or two instead. If you see this truck you should definitely swing by.

Yelp
Finally some delicious mexican food!. Their tacos (asada, pastor, pollo) were tasty! Torta al pastor was delicious! Both red and green salsas were also great flavors. We will definitely continue to support this business!

Yelp
So good. They were in my neighborhood tonite. I could "make dinner" like this every night! The steak tacos + guac = delish!

Yelp
I ate from their trailer a few weeks back and the food was very good. We had tacos, a quesadilla, and a burrito. The pork and chorizo had a lot of flavor. The only issue I had was that the portions were smaller and the meat-to-everything-else ratio was low (not like the pictures I see on Yelp right now, I'd have given 5 stars if there was more food). Even so, I would eat here again...maybe add a few extra tacos to the order.

Yelp
From 2 year's ago Yelp removed hundreds of my reviews. No matter what other food truck I may sample I always come back to Los Dos Amigos. In my humble but well tested opinion there is still no better taco, tostada, burrito, or quesadilla in SW DETROIT a hidden gem off the beaten path you must find for outrageous authentic on the cheap Mexican street foods,,,, never a Gringo in site other than me . Ha ha what's that tell you.

Yelp
I was introduced to Los Dos Amigos by fellow Goldie Wally S. When he told me this food truck has $1 tacos, I almost didn't believe him. Delicious tacos made with fresh meat for less dinero than anything found at Taco Bell? I was weary but now I'm sold. The menu on the truck is in Spanish and English. The employees speak both languages as well, so no worries if you haven't practiced your Spanish since 10th grade. I have tried most of the meats by now but prefer their pork to everything else. Tacos are served street-style, with two corn tortillas that are sprinkled with cilantro and onions. I usually have them hold that noise and just get a little cheese instead. The quesadillas are excellent and a steal at only $2. You'll receive some meat, cheese, avocado and salsa sandwiched in a pressed flour tortilla. Mmmm. Jacob loves the ceviche. If you're thirsty, they have a selection of canned pop and bottled Jarritos, as well as horchata. Feeling daring? You can run to the liquor store across the street for adult beverages but be sure to ask for a paper bag, because drinking is public is illegal, yo! There is usually a canopy up next to the truck for shade along with four small tables. If you're into spicy stuff, look for the plastic container with onions and peppers and throw some on your food. I've raved about this place and even got my husband hooked. They're only open Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays, so get your fix when you can.

Yelp
Awesome quesadillas! Affordable & fast. Tried them at the CHASS Mercado (summer Thursday's 9 am - 1pm). Will definitely return!!

Yelp
I love this truck. It stops at Wayne state usually Mon and Wednesday's $2 per taco. They have chips, sodas, waters, quesadillas for $3 burrito for $7 and chips and salsa for $6. They put cilantro instead of lettuce and I prefer that. Great job guys! Hope you don't stop coming to Wayne State.

Yelp
Awesome little gem in Detroit. With Tacos $1.25 and Quesadilla $2 you can't go wrong. Their quesadillas are flour with salsa, avocado, tomatoes, and cheese and are sooooo bomb!!!!!! Mmmmm .... them Steak quesadillas got me some type of way. Tacos are good and come with corn tortilla and are smothered with salsa and onions and other classic garnishes. Their steak, cabeza, and chorizo are hands down my fav in ranking order. They got classic Valentina and el yucateco hot sauce in both red and green 5 stars for price 5 stars quesadillas 4 stars tacos Overall 4.5 stars overall

Yelp
Had tacos from this food truck. I had 3, 2 carnitas and one steak. The flavors were on point and the meat in all 3 were well cooked and moist and flavorful. The tortillas were very traditional and the tastes were well balanced. The rice and beans were good but fairly common and nothing special. The standout was the hot sauce which was very tasty and nicely hot (beware if you're not into heat!). I really enjoyed my experience!

Yelp
Best tacos I've ever had, hands down. Ok, so I'm no taco aficionado, and there are tons of other places in SW that I've yet to try. But hot damn!! I had one each of the chicken, pork, and beef tacos, plus a ceviche. She had a beef quesadilla and two tacos. The meats were chopped fine and incredibly seasoned - especially the beef! It wasn't ground beef; it seemed almost like a pot roast cut. Super tender and wonderfully flavorful. The salsa was excellent - fresh and a bit unique. Not the typical stuff you get with chips a Mexican restaurant. I might ask if they bottle it next time I go back. Between the meat and salsa, the tacos are a powerhouse of flavor. If you still want to step it up a notch, though, you've got to try their spicy pickled onions. They've got just the right blend of heat and acidity. Ceviche was pretty good, but I would have preferred it without the ketchup (??) on top. The unbelievable part of this place is that we both ate for $8. Tacos are just a buck. One dollar. Un dolar. Are you kidding me?! They're cash only, but you can't blame them. They've also got a few patio tables under an awning behind the truck, so you can enjoy on the spot. And there's a liquor store across the street if you want to discreetly imbibe while you eat.

Yelp
Recently had their food truck for our block party. Amazing food and staff! The cost was also very reasonable. I would highly recommend for any future event!

Yelp
This was my second stop of my inaugural taco truck crawl, El Paisa being the first (http://www.yelp.com/biz/el-paisa-taqueria-truck-detroit). Janelle's taco truck guide had advised to get the same kind of meat at every truck so that you could better compare the trucks, and I'd meant to do that but then ended up trying the al pastor and carne asada at the first spot. Since the asada was a little tough there, I decided to try to return to the original plan and got two al pastor tacos here. I was surprised to see that these tacos ($1.00) were much smaller than the ones at El Paisa (although those were 25 cents more...). They had a tasty-looking salsa, chopped onions, and cilantro on them, and sliced radishes and a lime wedge on the side. My dining companions and I went to sit under the awning, but there weren't enough chairs. So we walked over to the adjacent playground and sat at one of the picnic tables there. Very pleasant :) Umm... that tasty-looking salsa was indeed very tasty and much more flavorful than El Paisa's. Kinda spicy too! But not that spicy. (And I'm kind of a hot and spicy wimp. For example, I love Sriracha but can only handle so much of it. Dishes end up looking like they are afflicted with Sriracha-colored chicken pox-like bumps.) These small tacos did not contain very much meat or cilantro. I could easily eat 6-8 in one sitting, compared to 3-4 El Paisa tacos. But I can justify the cost of these miniature tacos because the salsa was just that good. In fact, the salsa made Los Dos Amigos my favorite of the three trucks we tried (El Pariente being the third: http://www.yelp.com/biz/el-pariente-detroit), although all of them were very tasty. Los Dos Amigos is kind of out of the way, in the middle of a neighborhood, but it also makes for a fun little drive in which I maneuvered around some insane potholes.

Yelp
Still delicious. Introduced five new co-workers too and they all were extremely happy. I think they serve the best quesadilla I've ever had. No line - not busy. Hidden gem.

Yelp
No matter what other food truck I may sample I always come back to Los Dos Amigos. In my humble but well tested opinion there is still no better taco, tostada, burrito, or quesadilla in the Detroit Mexican Town area. If you do stop there make sure you sample the onion/habanero mix on the table. It's so good it will make you cry. Then pick up a horchata to soothe your happy but burning tongue.

Yelp
Friendly people, good service, delicious food. Steak Quesadillas & tostadas de Ceviche are my favorite. I recommend everyone to come eat, enjoy the good, & spread the word.

Yelp
Ever since reading Janelle's review, I've been wanting to try this place but convincing my American suburbanite colleagues to go along to *that* kind of neighbourhood is evidently more painful than having my wisdom teeth extracted, sans anesthesia. Finally, the stars aligned as some another Canadian expat who is brave enough to go along showed up. No need to pile on the good reviews that other Yelpers had already given; their ceviche tostada and tacos are good enough to warrant the trip, no matter what you think of the neighbourhood (it's not that bad). Super friendly services, and friendly fellow customers if you choose to dine in (i.e. sit at the plastic table under a retractable truck awning). Just go there.

Yelp
The best taco truck hands down!! Go ahead and try to eat a whole steak burrito I dare ya ! Not to spicy just right. A++ worth the drive. However I am lucky enough I live right around the corner. Ned don't for get to grab a can of ice cold Coke to wash it all down. Out the door for $8 a person.

Melanie S.

Yelp
We worked with Los Dos Amigos to provide late night snacks at our wedding last month and had a great experience. Many of our guests said they were the best tacos they'd ever had!
google avatar

Candice S.

Yelp
Ok so I'm regularly IN THE NEIGHBORHOOD of this taco truck (trust me, it's not what you think) and as far as any other taco trucks in the area, when it comes to efficient, friendly service these dos amigos are by far the best in southwest. I'm one for al pastor, myself, and the combination of the authentic, yet not overpowering seasonings, fresh cilantro and onion and delicate white corn tortilla that they have going on is is extremely fulfilling. Homemade salsa is the perfect compliment to their quesadillas fully loaded with an almost buttery cheese and fresh avocado and tomato, ESPECIALLY FOR $1 ?!?! ...beats the heck out of the dollar menu and you're helping hardworking individuals in the community that deserve your support. I almost forgot the critically acclaimed ceviche tostadas-- to die for. Honestly, one's Abuela could maaayyybe do it better if Abuelo caught the fish that morning ... :)

Yelp
I'm going to make this short and sweet. Hands down the best Mexican food truck I have ever experienced. The family that runs this truck is so nice. The pricing is well worth it and the location makes for a unique experience.

Yelp
3 tacos, a quesadilla, and a horchata y jamaica . . . only six bucks! I have been hearing about the original taco trucks of SW Detroit and I cannot believe I waited this long to finally seek them out. You have to go around the corner of Parkwood to find the place (you cannot miss it), but you will be happy when you do. I love legit taco trucks and these are something I missed from my Texas days. I mean there are some clever people doing great things with food, but there is something to be said for the original food trucks. I really loved the lengua and the cabeza is not bad, either. Because I am greedy, I had a chorizo too. I think the lengua was my favorite. Beware, though. The lengua does actually look like tongue, if you are not so adventurous. Everything is made to order and they have a little covered area with picnic tables to enjoy your feast. It is right next to a park. The horchata was perfect for washing everything down. I am definitely going to have to look out for more taco trucks in the area. The taco truck crawl may not be a good idea, if you do not have the intestinal fortitude for it. ***CASH ONLY***

Yelp
No need to go to Mexican Town with this Taco Truck! Amazing food, and even better prices! I had a burrito al pastor and a taco con pollo today and it was amazing. Try the rice water, that was the best part of my meal!!

Kate H.

Yelp
Finally! I ventured down to Southwest today (a beautifully sunny and breezy Saturday) with my taco consuming companion and we made our way to Los Dos Amigos for lunch. I love that this truck is actually in a neighborhood, and you know the majority of the people there are from that neighborhood. Needless to say, my friend and I (pasty and pastier) looked a bit out of place. Regardless of that, the service was eager, friendly and breezy. Definitely the best ceviche tostada I've had to date, and an amazing bargain at $1.00. We wanted to hit one other truck on our trip, so I left it at the ceviche tostada and al pastor taco, which was equally delicious. The tortillas (white corn) were as fluffy as they'd been described and the meat juicy and tender, with the perfect amount of seasoning. I could have done with a little less hot sauce, just because it overpowered the flavor of the taco, but it was delicious nonetheless. I kinda wish I'd gotten a second ceviche tostada because who knows when I'll get back there, but for real... you've got to try it! There is a tent set up behind the truck, with a table and chairs underneath, so you can have a seat in the shade and enjoy your lunch if you like. That area was already full, so we just stood in front of the truck and gobbled up our food. Their menu is pretty extensive for a taco truck, I must say, and I will definitely be back to check out more from them. I honestly couldn't think of a better lunch that you could get for $2.00. So cheap! Los Dos Amigos definitely tops my list as far as the taco trucks go, and I'm guessing after I've had a chance to eat some more tacos there, it'll probably top my list for best tacos in Southwest, taco truck or otherwise.
