Warm Up With These Cozy Comfort Foods in Philly | Eater Philly

"Tamales double as hand warmers, which make them the ultimate comfort food. Unwrap the corn husk to release a corn-scented cloud of steam. Google
Tremendous Mexican Restaurant!! Authentic and very, very delicious. Their Shrimp is among the best of the best I’ve ever had. Highly recommended, and 5 stars doesn’t do it justice

Google
Food was good, restaurant had a good atmosphere and though we were one of only two tables at the off-time we went, service was very friendly and helpful. I was a little disappointed, for a ranking of #15 in all of Philly I expected better but we still enjoyed our lunch.

Google
My all time favorite Mexican restaurant. I recommend the torta Cubana. There is a good selection of packaged drinks as well as fresh drinks. Food is always good here.

Came here not knowing what to expect and was initially overwhelmed by the size of the menu. Lots of choices and they all sounded really good. Ended up getting the “Carne Enchilada” burrito and it was fantastic. Some of the best authentic Mexican food I’ve had in the city. Also super highly recommend the horchata, the best I’ve ever had and it’s not even close.

Google
Went here after visiting the aquarium. Everything looked good so we ordered a bunch of things, overall the food was decent. Portions were very good for the price. I’m Mexican myself so it’s hard to find a place that i can actually truly enjoy without judging it!

Google
I stopped by this place because I wanted to try their mango smoothie so I went ahead and ordered one. As the lady was making my smoothie, she had the audacity to dip her finger in my smoothie and then put her finger in her mouth to taste it. I could’ve dropped dead right then and there. She then continued to make it and serve it to me like I didn’t just watch her finger feed herself a sample of my smoothie. I didn’t have the guts to complain so I just paid for it and threw it out when I walked away. I also asked for another straw and she handed me one with taco meat and sauce on it. I will never return as this place is way too unsanitary for me.

*Takeout Review* Since this place was very close to my friend's house, He recommended I try this place, he ordered 2 dishes for us. While the portions are very generous for the price, the proteins cooked nicely and the sides are good too. However I find one of the dish a little too salty and oily, and the cheese on top was unnecessary. The food was OK at best. Maybe next time If I decide to visit again, I will try some of their tacos or burritos. The staff is very friendly and the Atmosphere is unique.

Google
Amazing place to find in an area that has lot to choose from. Food was excellent and really loved the specials they had. Got a pamboza and could only finish half of it there. Was a great late night snack after a show later on. Chocoflan was perfect as well. Everything couldn’t have tasted or felt more authentic, so if you want real Mexican cuisine at a great price, this is the place you’re looking for.

Yelp
Food: I have been coming here for years now and I absolutely love it! They serve free chips and 2 different types of salsa. They also have a variety of hot sauces on the table to try out. My personal favorite is the habanero one. I love most things on the menu but my personal favorite is the Al pastor tostadas. It's served with lettuce, pico, sour cream, cheese, and radish slices on top. It's the perfect combination with hot sauce or the spicy jalapeño. This is a neighborhood staple and some of the most authentic Mexican food I can find in Philadelphia. It's also BYOB! Service: Quick & consistent. They frequently check in on you. Ambiance: It is beautifully decorated with lights strung around. There are murals painted all over the rugs. It's very casual and I love being in there!

Yelp
Every time I order here they mess up my order even when I asked for them to repeat it back! Especially since I've worked in the food industry so I know how it is .. also I speak/read fluent Spanish .. so it's no valid reason to keep messing it up. And when I called back to let them know; the girl that took my order had a nasty attitude!! as if it's my fault!? And now they're saying they don't know how long it'll take to make my food right and bring the new one to me . I feel like they're doing it on purpose .. I asked for the " bistec tacos with everything " meaning what says it comes on it.. like it states on the menu: " three corn tortillas served with roasted tender cactus, grilled jalapeños and avocado . Add cheese + $1" BUT not once did I asked to add cheese on them tho. I'm lactose intolerant.. And they still did it cuz the cashier said she asked me " with everything?" So Still doesn't apply to the cheese cuz they don't come with cheese UNLESS you ask and they charge you that extra $ . So no!! EDIT UPDATE: they sent my food without the pearled onions and no salsas , wow!! Which I paid for !!! Great food honestly .. But Terrible customer service !!!

Yelp
Delicious and authentic. Prices are reasonable and worth it for the amount of food. They are cash only now but do have an ATM on premise. Had the birria tacos most recently which were out of this world and easily some of the best birria tacos I've ever had.

Yelp
Los Gallos has been our go to take out spot for tacos for the last three years. They have screwed up our orders on more than one occasion. Not once did they ever apologize or try to make it right. I could care less about Los Gallos after the first incident, but my husband kept wanting to go back. So, we did. I admire his patience because they always mess up his food, not mine. Once again, they screwed up my husband's order in the same exact way they had done before. He ordered tacos with tripa over the phone. When he arrived at the restaurant to pick up our food, he realized he was given tacos with chorizo instead of tacos with tripa. My husband informed the restaurant of their mistake. Once again, the restaurant did not acknowledge their mistake. They did not apologize. They told him he would have to wait 20 minutes if he wanted them to make tacos with tripa. They would not prioritize his order. What's infuriating is that they put the mistake on my husband. "Just say tripe next time," the staff member at the counter said to him. First of all, Los Gallos' own menu says "tripa". Also, "tripa" does not sound anything like "chorizo". If it's that difficult to differentiate the two words, maybe Los Gallos needs to set up online ordering instead. We will no longer be getting food from Los Gallos.

Yelp
Wow this South Texas girl is so impressed. The tacos, flautas, tostadas all very authentic. The salsa is so good but hot proceed with caution. Typically get it to go Atleast once a week. Oh and the flan is excellent too! If you like real Mexican food this is a south Philly treasure

Yelp
This is the best Mexican restaurant ever! I travel an hour fighting traffic every time to enjoy a meal here. And every time I'm glad I did! Their food is delicious and it's the same each time. The Enchipotladas are amazing and the sauce is unlike anything I've ever tried. It's so flavourful! Nachos are absolutely the Best! Everything here is worth the trip. Tho the place is small and not fancy, their food makes up for what's lacking. I've been going here for many years and it's consistently good every time!

Yelp
I've been ordering takeout from here for a while and finally had the opportunity to dine in recently. Before placing our orders, we got a standard complimentary basket of tortilla chips and dips. The chips were so fresh and the beans and cheese toppings made them extra delicious! My husband and I shared the guacamole and as our entree, I had the bistec azteca and my husband had the carne asada platter. Everything was really good and looked exactly like the pictures on the menu. The steaks were chewy but well seasoned. I usually never go beyond tacos and enchiladas when I do takeout so it was nice to try something new. This is probably my favorite Mexican restaurant in Philly right now because the food is so consistent. I'm still partial to the lingua tacos and chicken enchiladas here (both the mole and verde).

Yelp
This place is awesome. Another Philly gem with delicious Mexican food. The space itself is nicely decorated (especially for the holidays) and spacious -- photos do not do it justice. The staff is great. The portions are large, and the food is very clearly high quality. The prices here are very affordable. We left feeling good about what we ate (and leaving with leftovers!) and how much we spent. Complementary Chips - Worth highlighting that these were great. Really liked that that they came with beans and a light cheese dusting as well. Chicken Quesadilla - No ordinary quesadilla -- the chicken in there was very well seasoned and grilled to perfection. The cheese inside was tasty and plentiful -- don't remember what kind it was exactly, but it was similar to a mozzarella. Overall, an excellent quesadilla. Usually I don't order these because they're on the smaller side and often served as a children's option, but this was huge. Al Pastor Tacos - Packed tacos with crispy pork! These were also really good. Not much else to highly -- lots of flavor and plenty fixings to leave you feeling full. Value: 5/5 Quality: 5/5 Quantity: 5/5 Service: 5/5 Atmosphere: 5/5

Yelp
One world: terrible! This must be authentic Mexican food because I saw nothing like this. I ordered a quesadilla, and the cheese in it was like plastic. It's like gum, but you can swallow it. No taste, nothing. You need to chew forever!!! Everything came to the table , extremely salty. Do not get me wrong, I am type of person out salt on every bite. I do not get bothered by salt, but this is something else. My husband ordered taco, he did not like it either. I read comments, so many people like this place. Something must be wrong with us, we literally the it! My husband is a trash can, normally he eats everyting. Just not today

Yelp
Super let down with the crappy burritos we got here this time. Awful. I have been here in the past and it was excellent. This time around it tasted like I was being pranked. Dry overcooked rice and chicken, and tons of salt on a stale tortilla. No veggies, horrible "cheese", with no flavor except salt. I was surprised I didn't get food poisoning. I made it through 3 bites and threw the rest in the trash. What happened to this place?? Never going here again. Go elsewhere.

Yelp
I lived in San Diego for a few years, so I consider myself a bit of a taco snob. These were so good! The Birria tacos were juicy and well seasoned. The Al pastor was also super good. The meat was generous!! I really appreciate that because I hate skimpy tacos. Definitely coming back when I need my taco fix!

Yelp
Would need some more visits to get a better feel for the place, but first impressions this place has probably been some of the best Mexican food I've eaten so far - at least from perspective of someone who doesn't often head into the city proper areas. Pleasant, comfortable local spot with neat decorations. I'd have to say eating in is the better way to go, as I'd imagine the dishes we ordered wouldn't have been as good if ordered to go. Horchata was the one drink we got. For me at least the sweetness level was a bit above average but still tasty nonetheless. This $6 drink was huge, and can easily be shared among 2 people. I ordered the Alambre El Paisano, while my family member got the Ribeye Steak Con Camarones. They were $22 and $23 respectively, but the work that went into those dishes matched if not exceeded the price tags. Usually for me it's hard to find places that serve good shrimp as part of a dish, but the shrimp in the Alambre El Paisano were fantastic. They had peak flavor and a nice bite to them. Overall excellent execution. My family member also enjoyed their Ribeye Steak dish, which did include a cactus leaf. I've never eaten cactus before but it was pretty interesting to taste. Tortillas came out hot and fresh in a little basket covered by a unique cloth, which gives a nice home-y touch. Service was pretty standard, but the waitor was nice. I look forward to trying out other items in the menu.

Yelp
This place taste so authentic! There are so many options to pick from the menu and everything looks amazing. We wanted to order something we've never had before. We got: 1. Ribeye steak con camarones (corn tortilla) 2. Alambre el paisano (flour tortilla) 3. Side of guacamole The ribeye dish come with cactus and it's so good. I've never had cactus before and now I'm a big fan. It tasted like if okra and bell pepper had a baby. It also came with a big scope of guacamole and mole. It was a perfect mix platter. The alambre was a bit more saucy so if you like flavorful this is the dish to try. The shrimp is juicy & big - seasoned to perfection. The portions are huge here! We had enough leftover for another meal. This place used to be cash only but now you can pay with credit if you dine in. Can't wait to come back again! They are also BYOB!

Yelp
We have always loved Los Gallos for standard Mexican fast food like tacos, nachos, enchiladas etc. This time we tried their full entrées for the first time. I had the Parillada Mixta mixed grilled plate (#55 $22) and my husband had the Pollo Norteno. My beef was cut extremely thin and was pretty tough however, everything was incredibly flavorful and there was so much food on the plate and I took a lot home with me. That said, I'd likely go back to tacos or something more basic next time. One of the highlights is the no charge nachos with a white bean purée and grated cheese that they put on the table upon arrival. It is Always, very busy with families and a lot of takeout activity. It is casual, but fun and festive and we highly recommend. Service is excellent.
google avatar

Timothy W.

Yelp
Never again! Los Gallos has been one of our go-to's for Mexican food over the years, despite their often subpar customer service. Today, after once again getting our order wrong, they tried to gaslight me by saying that I did not place the right order. When I pointed out that they had made the same mistake before and asked if they could correct my order, they said, "Look how many orders we have... we can't do it right now. " There was never an acknowledgment for their mistake or an apology. Zero respect for their customers. Would never recommend this place to anyone - there are frankly many other places in the area that are much more deserving of your business.
google avatar

Brandon S.

Yelp
The food was amazing and it had probably one of the best Lengua tacos in Philadelphia. I also ordered the mar y tierra which is something I have not tried before, but it was extremely delicious. It is a mixture of shrimp and cut up steak in a tomato sauce covered with cheese. It is also served with warm tortilla, rice and beans. The staff was a extremely nice and attentive. We had a large group, and they accommodated us well. I'm not really gonna talk about ambience because I don't really care about it. Would def come back
google avatar

Mary S.

Yelp
It's was okay. Busy place but overall I wasn't impressed, it may just be me but the carnitas were really dry. Everyone's tastes is different so it may have just been me.

Yelp
The best Mexican food ever!!! Worth the drive from bucks county byob with great service Finding a parking space can be tricky

Yelp
Bought a pina colada from them at a Juneteenth festival in Philly and they lied about putting rum in a $17 pineapple. Then claimed they are charging $3 for half shots to add to it. Super disappointed.
google avatar

Justina A.

Yelp
Pretty good food & very kind staff :) Ordered family style and got a variety of meats that came with warm tortillas (corn and flour), spicy peppers, garlic, cilantro, onions, radishes, and cucumbers. The alambre and al pastor were by far my favorites!
google avatar

Lelo B.

Yelp
Excellent service and food. We went for a quick lunch before catching our flight on Valentine's Day. The chips they serve are topped with refried beans and cojita cheese and two salsas on the side. So tasty! I ordered the mole chicken+veggie enchiladas. Amazing. My friend ordered the carnitas tacos (3). Also very good. He also ordered a soda. Our total was $36+tip. Our server also dropped off a generous slice of tres leches on-the-house after we paid. So sweet. Definitely coming back the next time I'm in town.
google avatar

Clarissa V.

Yelp
When my El Rodeo taco truck is MIA this will be my new go to. The steak is marinated perfectly. The seafood soup is delicious too. Pretty much feel like I ordered it anywhere in Mexico. I wish they had shrimp lime soup as an app. Been craving it since I came back from Quintana Roo/Yukutan region. But their seafood soup is filling for an entree The salsas and chips are delicious. The red sauce is perfect heat and smokiness and the verde is delicious. The only annoying thing is they advertise free guac and chips with Yelp check in but it's not true. They don't honor it. They need to get it taken down
google avatar

Kaitlyn T.

Yelp
Los Gallos is by far my favorite Mexican restaurant ever. I have been going here for years now and it never disappoints. I always get the tacos rancheros with suadero (it's like steak on another level) or carnitas, depending on my mood. My partner always gets the torta cubana which is huge and filled with so much protein and flavor. The salsa verde is the best I've ever tried.
google avatar

Rachel R.

Yelp
A friend and I saw good reviews for Los Gallos on Yelp and decided to go here. I am so glad we did - this place is phenomenal. The ambience was authentic, our waitress was very nice, and most of all... the food was SO flavorful. I got the shrimp rancheros and they were sublime. Each piece of shrimp had so much taste, everything tasted high quality... it was a big treat. If I lived closer I'd be here all the time! Definite 5/5. SO good.

Yelp
Amazing food. Staff is lovely. Great follow up to having drinks across the street (Frida)

Yelp
Best Mexican joint in south Philly. The Al pastor tacos are the best here. Haven't had 1 bad meal here. BYOB. Pleasant ambiance. Service is fast.

Retna S.

Yelp
This review is for the birria tacos which have gained popularity these days. Each taco has two soft tortilla soaked with the broth and have some crispness. The consommé is salty with some savory flavors but obscured by the saltiness. The beef has a little bit better flavor than the consommé but still on the salty side. It's tender but I found some fatty and tendon part. Good amount of the beef. They put the toppings (cilantro, onions, hot peppers, salsa Rojas and verde) in separate small containers. The hot peppers are really spicy hot.
google avatar

Mark K.

Yelp
I have been going to Los Gallos for years and I have never had a bad meal. I have tried many items on the menu from the basic tacos to the enchiladas and mole. All of it fantastic! The owner is a great guy, the staff is friendly and fast and on Friday and Saturday nights it can be hard to get a table. However, there is always the take out option. I personally love the Beef tongue tacos, sliced thin and tender. Side note don't park near 7th and Wolf or near 7th st in that area. It's gangland and full of junkies. Always park on 10th st or toward 11th st.

Yelp
The customer service here is trash ! It was bad four years ago and it's still garbage today . Literally the women working here always seem to have an attitude like they don't want to interact with you . If you ask questions about food items or policy they get annoyed even when your already a paying customer. It's a shame too because the one item I get here is pretty decent which is why I've returned a few times post my initial negative interaction. Mind you people in Philadelphia are a bit less friendly in general compared to the west coast where I'm from so I'm thinking about that as well as I write my review . Even compared to other Mexican establishments like south Philly barbacoa where they actually treat you like a person this place is especially unwelcoming. The positive side is visiting such a place makes me especially grateful for my hometown which has a huge Mexican American population and some of the Mexican food in all of North America at better prices and prepared and served by people who treat you like family. It's better business model . Take notes los gallos .

Michael A.

Yelp
Some of the best Mexican we've had. We tried the enchiladas Rojas which were outstanding. Portions generous. Sauces very flavorful. People were lovely too.
google avatar

Julia S.

Yelp
A really good Mexican restaurant. My usual go to is the Camarones el Diablo (shrimp and tilapia in spicy sauce), which is typically really good but at my most recent order it was a bit too salty. I also really like their Majorra Frita (fried fish), I love the way it is fried: crispy on the outside and juicy on the inside -- for a fried fish, it is also not oily at all. Their portion is out of this world. For my most two recent dish that I ordered, it came with side of Mexican rice, salad and stacks of tortillas. Usually, if you dine in they also give you a basket of chips and salsa. Always coming out feeling full!
google avatar

Kirsten L.

Yelp
Food: 4.25 My partner and I ordered the chorizo (Mexican sausage) tacos de la casa and costilla de res (short rib) tacos de la plancha, respectively. No complaints about the tacos! My goodness we loved the seasoning, texture, and the salsa verde/salsa roja. We also loved the horchata. The only product that fell flat was the choco-flan. I bought it on impulse, texture was fine; however, the flavor was flat. I was disappointed the flan was bland and so was the chocolate cake. With that said I'll give their regular flan a chance next time. Service: 5 Out of 5 Obviously due to COVID-19 we're only allowed to do take out only. Regardless, the service was wonderful. While the the cashier was on the phone with another customer the man assisting her took the time to acknowledge me and take my order so I wouldn't be waiting too long. Overall: 4.5 Out of 5 This taqueria aficionada votes a definite yes for the savory food!

Yelp
I can't believe I have not reviewed this place! Los Gallos is our go-to Mexican restaurant and we have to travel about 20 minutes to get here. The menu is so extensive and the food here isn't as greasy as some of the other Mexican restaurants I've been to. When you arrive they give you a basket of chips and two different kinds of salsa. Over the last 2 years my husband and I have probably been to Los Gallos about 7 times! I don't eat pork or beef but there are plenty of seafood, poultry and vegetarian options that I enjoy. My favorite dish is the shrimp fajitas. It comes with so much food -- shrimp, peppers, onions and lettuce on a sizzling plate with tortillas, rice, beans and guacamole on the side. I usually get sour cream (or creama) on the side because since I put a few dabs of hot sauce or salsa on the food I usually need a cooling component. My husband has several favorite dishes, including, Alambre El Paisano and Pollo Norteno. Those dishes come with plenty of food and plenty of flavor as well. Los Gallos -- we love you!

Yelp
Came in here after reading the great reviews and a tummy full of hunger. 1. Ordered chorizo tacos (a la plancha) - unlike most other similar places which allow you to mix and match different types in one order, they did not. It baffles me why it's not possible, but okay. You do you 2. I told the (probable) owner I was going to dine in since initially I'd ordered at the counter and not taken a table right away. After I took a seat, a while, one of the servers got my order, packed. No problem, not a big deal. When I said I wanted to eat here, and if she could get me a plate, she apologized. And refused. (I was the only one at the restaurant at this point. Why couldn't I get an empty plate?) She did get me a glass of water later (which had some things floating in it, and I didn't touch it) 3. Almost $12 for 3 tacos, so I was expecting something good. The accompanying cacti was tasty, and both the salsas they gave packed some serious punch. The chorizo felt less in quantity, and lacking in flavor. So I ate out of the box, because I was sooooo hungry. It's okay, I'll live. I didn't lose my calm but this was a seriously depressing experience. Also, had to go up to the counter to pay, because serving the one person dining there was not something they seemed too interested in. Unusual for me, I tipped absolutely nothing, since I didn't get any service. South Philly has multiple authentic taco places, so needless to say, I'm not going to be coming back here, ever.

Yelp
Another great spot for tacos! I came on a Friday afternoon and it was quite painful searching for a parking, BUT persistency prevails! I ordered Al Pastor ($10) and waited for about 20 mins. Took those bad boys to my car and devoured them. The flavor was there but I wished the protein was little more tender. The overall service and time was great. I will come here again for a sit-in.

Yelp
Delicious food. Lovely atmosphere. Friendly staff. Good prices. Clean. They take card and cash.

Yelp
Los Gallos was at the Wilmington taco Festival, and I have to say they were the most authentic and the most delicious tacos compared to any other stand! The birria taco was definitely my favorite. I can't wait to go to the restaurant in Philly :) def recommend

Yelp
This place is the real deal! Wonderful authentic taste in a comfortable atmosphere. Probably the best chorizo I have had and I've had a lot. So good! That alone is worth a return. My wife ordered and let me sample the burrito. Absolutely amazing! Great presentation with added toppings and peppers. Wonderful service. Five star experience
google avatar

Michael F.

Yelp
This place is very good. However, I have to knock down one less star because their check-in offer of free guacamole and nachos no longer works. Yelp and this establishment needs to remove it or they will have a lot of pissed off customers. When I showed the check-in offer to the waitress. She said the offer is no longer valid. The menu is very good though, and unique and they serve you a pretty good amount of food. They only have outside dining and take out only due to pandemic, so be aware before coming here. Don't forget your sanitizers since the outside tables might be dirty. I don't think they are disinfected enough since they look kind of grimy. Plus the seats are all outside! Who knows how many passerby have touched them. You know what I'm saying?

Yelp
Holy guacamole! What a little golden nugget in south Philly! Pouring rainy day and really wanted some authentic Mexican food. Usual place was closed so started a Yelp search and found this place. Quick call to place our order and with a quick 15 min turnaround time we were here. The music and food aroma hits you as you walk in the door. Already starving this just made me salivate behind my face mask. Yes, you could smell the deliciousness through a face mask. Once we got in the car all masks were off! I got the chicken tacos which were filled with everything that is good. The chicken was absolutely amazing. The right amount of seasoning and the warm tortillas just made it all good. The dipping sauces were out of this world. Spicy and sweet. My daughter had the Al Pastor tacos and all I heard was "oh my God, these are gooooood" through bites. Most certainly a hit! They offer inside dining with every other table taped off for safe distancing. Go! Enjoy! Thank me later!

Yelp
I grew up in southern California. This is one of the best mexican places in the country. I've been here over a dozen times and everything I've ever had here is dank.

Yelp
Very tasty Mexican food and reasonably priced. It's BYOB but across the street is a bar that will sell you a six pack. Good service and very nice people. Been there twice now and will definitely go again.

Went there for dinner. We were seated quickly and the service was great. Loved the food here and definitely will be coming back soon. There's different styles of tacos you can order, I got the one with cactus, jalapeño, and fried onion on it. Really good. All huge portions too!

Yelp
If you want an authentic real Mexican food, this place is a must go! One of the best Mexican restaurant in Philadelphia. They make everything from scratch. Their portion is huge and the price is reasonable, especially their sandwich, Cimita (bread chicken). It's the size of my head lol, and their Taco al pastor, and shrimp taco is delicious. Anyway, I'm not a salad type person except when it comes to Los gallos salad is one of the best salad I ever had. It comes with load of bacon, avocado, grilled chicken, onion, tomato, cheese with chipotle sauce dressing, basically everything in this salad is amazing good. Also you need to try some of their Mexican drinks. They have many varieties to choose from. We tried their hibiscus tea and it was really good and so refreshing. I highly recommend anyone who love Mexican food should come eat here. You won't be disappointed.

Yelp
I ordered 3 dishes (and 2 sides) for take out and only received 2 dishes. When I called to advise them we were missing 1 dish I was told they only wrote down 2 and they were busy. When I questioned why it was so expensive ($53) I was told I could look for other places to order from. The food is delicious however it's not a good idea to get too big for your britches in South Philly... word spreads fast !! Love your food but you won't get another penny from me with customer service like that. Like you said... there are many other places to order from so I will take your advice !!

Yelp
Delicious food at a responsible price. The portions are generous and filling. Perhaps one of the best Mexican restaurant in Philly? My favorite is their salmon dish with seafood rice. The service is great. If you're ordering takeout, sometimes you may need to call a few times before someone answers. It gets quite busy around 6pm.

Yelp
Los Gallo's had a space at the Italian Market festival and my Love and I could not resist the enticing smells coming from their booth so we ordered up some steak tacos and bam- flavor bomb in your mouth. That little taste brought us to their restaurant for lunch this week. We were not disappointed! Parking is a mess but that is par for the course in South Philly. The restaurant is small but clean and vibrant. Service is friendly and welcoming. The food lovingly prepared, served hot and in a reasonable amount of time considering all the ingredients are fresh and so flavorful. Let's talk about the salsas. Holy moly. So delish. Strong depths of flavor and spicy spicy yummm can't stop eating it, take my chips away - don't you dare. I had chicken enchiladas mole and could have licked the plate it was so good. The side rice and beans were jammed with flavor too. They are BYO too so bring some dranks and enjoy!
