Dive into the hustle of this lively taqueria, where mouthwatering tacos and craft quesadillas await, all served street-style without the fuss of seating.
"Los Tacos No. 1 offers flour and corn tortillas for pork adobada tacos, similar to pineapple-tenderized al pastor tacos. Grilled steak (carne asada), pollo asado, and nopal fillings are also available, and any one can be ordered as a double-tortilla mula or a quesadilla. There are other locations in Times Square, Penn Station, Noho, and Tribeca." - Eater Staff
"If Los Tacos isn’t mobbed when you get there, your tacos are on us. The people behind this mini-chain keep opening locations in the busiest parts of Manhattan, but we get it—we need every tourist to know that there’s exemplary adobada in Midtown Manhattan, of all places. Though popular, this outlet is spacious enough for everyone to get a turn at one of the standing tables. Get pork, carne asada, nopales—whatever. It’s all good, and it all comes on your choice of an impressive handmade flour or corn tortilla." - neha talreja, bryan kim, hannah albertine
"What It Is: A flashy Mexican restaurant in a basement near Union Square Perfect For: Group Dinners Sometimes, we go into dark basements with neon signs to eat tacos. Like the other day when we tried out Taco Electrico in Union Square. This place is from the people behind , and it’s similar in concept to Tijuana Picnic - which is to say, it’s mostly about the atmosphere. The empanadas tasted a little like something you’d make in a microwave, but they weren’t bad, and they made us a little nostalgic for the days of after-school snacks. Our michelada, on the other hand, was great. And nothing cost more than $15. The Verdict: If you get dragged here for a big group dinner, you’ll be OK. Have a few tacos and a margarita." - hannah albertine, bryan kim, katherine lewin, hillary reinsberg, chris stang, matt tervooren
