"Hotel Costes is (if you ask us) the most seductive, decadent place to sleep in Paris, and its newly-opened sibling in London, L’oscar, is no different. It’s all excess. L’oscar is a former Baptist church that hotelier Jacques Garcia stuffed with his signature red velvet everything, Lalique butterfly taps in the bathrooms, and chandeliers aplenty. Guest rooms come with yoga mats, incredible city views, and beautiful mosaic showers. But we especially love the bar, which is swathed in plush navy velvet, wood-paneled walls, and impressively stacked bookshelves."

How Jacques Garcia Turned an Old Church into London's Hottest Hotel

We enjoyed our stay here so much! It’s a beautiful hotel with a wonderful tea service. We loved having vegan options. The Wimbledon afternoon tea was very lovely and special. We especially appreciated the help from Tony. He went above and beyond in helping us with our luggage and accommodations. His kindness, helpfulness, and positivity really made our stay 5 stars. We also appreciated the kindness and helpful local recommendations from Marion (Mary Anne? Not sure about spelling). Thank you for a wonderful time! We hope to come back again.

L’Oscar is a stunning hotel — beautifully designed, luxurious, and perfectly located. The rooms are elegant and comfortable, and the service is top-notch from start to finish. A special shoutout to Tony, who went above and beyond with his warm attitude and helpfulness. He handled our bags with care, greeted us with a smile every time, and offered great local tips. His hospitality truly made our stay even more memorable. We can’t wait to return!

The service here is AMAZING. You feel like you are being taken care of by family - if your family was very kind and gracious :). It has an intimate feel and was like a home away from home for us. Our rooms were gorgeous and big, the bath and body products and little extras are beautiful, and the location was perfect for our trip.

We are currently staying at the hotel for 6 nights, my wife and I are really enjoying it. ||It’s beautiful (designed by Garcia) and owned by a family who has winery in Bordeaux, champagne and Tokay (maybe more), so we get to have nice wine available. ||Location is great, we’ve been mostly walking to the theater and restaurants we booked. ||Their Concierge Tony is great, friendly, very helpful and always in a good mood just like the rest of the team. ||Jordane.

Outstanding!!! Wonderful hotel. Nice location, unique decor, terrific, well appointed rooms. Very nice bar and restaurant. Most importantly, great staff. Special shout out to front desk manager Mustapha who helped us with a tricky situation! Would stay there again in heartbeat.

Stayed here in July 2023 - a lovely gem of a hotel. Location can't be beat, room was fantastic, and the hotel management and team were absolutely wonderful when my wife and I unexpectedly found ourselves in London longer than expected. Cannot recommend this hotel highly enough, and looking forward to staying here again the next time I am fortunate enough to be in London.

Edit: the hotel has asked me to remove my review. I think this is really unprofessional and misleading on their part. I wrote my review based on the service I got at the hotel while I stayed there. When I stayed there for one night I came back at 1am and my room key didn't open the door. I thought maybe my elderly mother had deadbolted the door from inside. It turned out the key was bad. I went to the front desk and asked about the door being locked and the guy said yeah maybe your mom locked it. So I went back upstairs and banged on the door for a really long time as loudly as possible to wake up my elderly mother. She opened the door and said she didn't lock it. So that's when I learned the key was broken. I am really upset that the front desk person couldn't be bothered to come up with us and show us that the key was broken. There was no obvious sign from touching the key to the wall that it was working or not. It was incredibly inconvenient to wake up, again, my elderly mother at 1 am, my elderly mother who really needs to get good sleep while traveling, and I'm sure all the other hotel guests. I was exhausted and ready to sleep after a very long day and an early morning flight the next day, and instead found myself banging on a door full force for an extended period of time. Overall very unpleasant. I only stayed there one night. Just based on the key incident alone I would never stay there again. I wish I'd used my hotel points somewhere else. I thought it was supposed to be a luxury experience, but that's not the experience I got.

L’Oscar was everything we were hoping for; comfortable, relaxing, chic, impeccably clean, modern, welcoming. I can’t recommend it highly enough. We absolutely loved this hotel. Truly luxurious.
