It is my 3rd time here. Everything is perfect as usual. Came during the sun and had a good golden hour and sunset moment. The garlic hot sauce is my favorite at all time. I put it on every dishes. Appetizers Dumplings: 10/10 Spring Rolls : 8/10 Main course Shaky shaky beef : 12/10 so tender and great flavor Seabass with veggie : 8/10 good but nothing special Dessert Raspberry sorbet Ps. They asked when we called for reservation if we come for any occasion so we said birthday. And when we arrived, the host also asked if there was any celebration and we said birthday. But at the end of the meal, we didn’t get the candle? No biggie but why asked twice kinda weird. We ordered dessert and drinks anyway.

Amazing service and even better food! Every dish we tried was flavorful and memorable. If we had to find one small flaw, the pho broth could be a bit less salty, but everything else was spot on. The pork chop was a huge surprise. It served last when we were nearly full, yet we still devoured it in minutes. Definitely don’t miss the pork chop!

A hidden Michelin guide restaurant located in the Pacific City mall complex inside the Bluegold New American restaurant. I’m not sure if it’s a shared kitchen but the food is completely different and Vietnamese centric compared to the seafood and American cuisine of the main restaurant. It’s a cozy space, almost like a library, with ceiling to floor windows and views of the ocean. Portions are generous and our server said we may have ordered too many items but there are many interesting combinations on the menu. For appetizers, we loved them all and could easily stay in this area of the menu. The dumplings, bone marrow and tartare were all excellent. For the main items we opted for the short rib which was flavorful but overcooked and dry. The garlic noodles were good as a paired starch but more dense and heavy than the lighter garlic noodles I gave more often. Overall, it was a great meal. Probably should have ordered the shaking beef instead of the short rib but we’ll remember next time. Credit cards are accepted and all dining is indoor only. Reservations recommended as it’s a limited seating dining space.

We made a reservation when there was an event at Blue Gold, so they weren't expecting us. I made thr rsvp the same day with only 1 slot available. They still sat us down. We felt special, it was just us on our anniversary. It was a real treat 💕I was pregnant just this September...i really loved having our own space. Glad we got to share this special time right before our son was born. We have to come back!

I had such a great experience at LXSO in Huntington Beach. From the moment I walked in, the vibe of the space was welcoming, stylish, and comfortable. The team here has clearly put thought into creating an environment that feels both elevated and approachable, which made the entire visit enjoyable from start to finish. The staff went above and beyond with their professionalism and attention to detail. They were knowledgeable, friendly, and made me feel genuinely cared for throughout my time there. It’s rare to find a place where you not only receive excellent service but also feel completely at ease in the process. Overall, I couldn’t be happier with my visit. LXSO combines quality, atmosphere, and service in a way that stands out in Huntington Beach. I highly recommend checking them out if you’re looking for a spot that truly delivers a top-notch experience.

Secretive. Exclusive because it is tough to get into. Unique. Fun. Delicious. Plan ahead because LSXO is small inside. But what it lacks in stature it more than makes up for with gigantic flavor and hugely impressive presentation. Ever been to a place that won a Michelin award before? If so, you know what to expect and if not…. Get ready to set your taste buds on fire. Service is immaculate. Food choices are wisely designed and thoughtfully put together by true experts. You truly can’t go wrong with anything on the menu, tip to bottom. Looking around everyone is enthused and thrilled with everything they ordered. Truly impressive. Portion sizes are reasonable, so don’t go in there thinking you can order five or six different choices. Last note - the shaky shaky steak…. So good. So tender. Flavors just perfect. Better than most any steak house you could hope for. Not sure how they did it, but it’s so good it’s impossible to not get every time you go!

Nicely decorated place with great ocean views, delicious fresh and hot banh mi! Dinner seemed booked up and there was decent availability for lunch on the weekend.

Really good Vietnamese food, with great ambience and view of Huntington Beach. The spring roll was served with a ‘rice pudding’ type of dip, never had that before; but it was really good and complimented very well with the spring roll. Just dived into the spring roll and missed taking picture of them 🙉All the dishes we tried were yummy, yum, yum, yum … 👌🏽👌🏽👌🏽

First... you need to make a reservation. They fill up really quickly and I was able to get a spot for 4 people a month out! The drinks are awesome, and they do have craft bartenders who will make something for you if you ask. The food is outstanding, a great fusion and the music is on point too. The bathroom was spotless. To find this, go to restaurant and ask the hostess, a they will guide you to the secret door. And be prepared, like all things now, this place is not cheap. Dinner for 2 and some drinks could run you around $150-200 but is worth it

Vibe: perfection, music choices solid. It's like eating dinner in an early 2000's late 90's club with all the best hits. Service: Ashley and Anthony are great. Negative- took friends twice for birthday celebrations, both listed on the reservation and relayed to the host and servers. No acknowledgment, yet both times other tables were treated with a birthday dessert and celebration from the staff. When paying $300+ both times and bringing more people, least I could Hope for Food: imperial rolls are a must salmon Crudo was great, too much cilantro for garnish, sauce was a bit overkill, but still enjoyable Lemongrass Chicken: crispy and flavorful Shaky Shaky Beef: better than I expected, not a huge beef person but the rice was amazing, beef was cooked perfectly and the salad added a nice refreshing touch Crispy Rice: wasn't my favorite Drinks: The Jade pendant is a must! Butterfly effect has a beautiful presentation and just as delicious Love me some lsxo! Try to get a reservation during sunset it's a must see view! Later reservations are great, parking is easy and you really get to enjoy your time with whomever you bring

This place was amazing! Real cute speakeasy with ocean views. They played really good 90-00's music Drinks: I would definitely recommend the hanzo ( whiskey ) , butterfly effect ( vodka) Service: was amazing! Our server was also The bar tender and she was amazing. The staff there is very nice and accommodating. Food: everything is mostly family style so It's shareable. We had the dumplings, prawns, shakes ( or shaven) beef, seabass, and the vermicelli dish. All great choices and enough to feed 3 people happily! Make sure to book a reservation in advance

Finally was able to get in and try this hidden gem in Huntington Beach located in Pacific City in the Blue Gold Restaurant. I was able to make rsvp through open table, pretty easily but make sure to do that a couple of weeks in advance. There is a time limit for about 90 minutes, due to how small the restaurant is. It's really catered to great service and a modern twist on Vietnamese dishes. Loved the shaken beef, beef roll and garlic noodles. So much variety to choose from. The cocktails were unique, delicious and a good size. Ambience was stunning and a perfect little spot for drinks, small bites or dinner. If you love Vietnamese food, this is a must try!

LSXO is a Vietnamese restaurant inside of BlueGold restaurant on the second floor. They have an extensive menu with traditional Viet items with a twist. Food took a while to come out though. We went here for a birthday. I saw that they did birthday desserts in the past, but the waiter said they don't do that when we asked. Maybe because we went during lunch? * Shaky Shaky Beef 3.5/5 - This was the most recommended dish, but it was just okay. The beef texture was good and tender. However, the sauce was salty and Americanized. Not what you'd expect from shaken beef. The rice on the side was very good, savory, sweet, and citrusy. * Chicken & Shiitake Dumplings 5/5 - Juicy dumplings with a blend of unique flavors. They were perfectly paired with the chili sauce. The crunchy oyster mushrooms on the side were also interesting. * Red & Black Rice with Seafood 4/5 - Tasted good though very similar to a paella seafood dish on top. The spicy, gingery red and black rice underneath made the dish more special. It came with a lot of food so definitely shareable for two. * Vietnamese Coffee Tart 5/5 - This was a delicious way to end the meal. It came with a chocolate brownie base with coffee filling. There was chocolate mousse on top and condensed milk at the bottom. On the other side was vanilla ice cream and chocolate crumbles to balance out the taste.

I had high hopes for this place with the good reviews and nice photos but unfortunately was very disappointed with my experience here. This place is pretty hard to find since it's located in the back of Bluegold which is next to Equinox on the 2nd floor of the plaza. The venue itself is super tiny with few tables and few bar seating so all we could get were bar seats upon walk in. The bar seats were also super short and uncomfortable so the table was down at where our knees were so I was worried I would spill and drop food and drinks all over the place. We decided to order the garlic noodles and shaky shaky beef. The type of noodle they used for the garlic noodle was too thin and the flavor was off so I really didn't enjoy this dish much. The shaky shaky beef was tender and the sauce was good. Definitely a bit Americanized but that's as expected. For dessert, we got the banana mousse and the texture of this was just oddly jello-like and was not good at all. Overall was very disappointed by both the food and drinks here.

This was on my bucket list for years. I finally came here with my girlfriends for my 50th birthday and it was everything I wanted it to be. The views are breathtaking. The restaurant is gorgeous! The food perfect.

PHENOMENAL food! Had an rsvp and were seated a bit later due to a large party ahead of us, but we were able to grab some drinks at Bluegold's bar while waiting! Food was amazing! Need to keep an open mind since this is a fusion spot - not your authentic neighborhood pho spot. We ordered the escargot, salmon crudo, Vietnamese crepe, and garlic noodles. We also got a couple of cocktails. Those were great as well! Would definitely come back here and bring some friends. Seems like a fun place to rent out for a special event. 10/10 service!

Met a friend for dinner and drinks and we had such a good time. The drinks were really good and the food was fantastic. The staff were incredibly friendly. It was a quiet night and we were not rushed. It was not as quaint as some of the other speakeasies we've visited lately, but it was very comfortable. The large windows made it feel less concealed and hidden, but I'm sure the sunsets and views are phenomenal in the daytime.

I didn't want to give this place 3/5 stars, but I just had to at the end. We reserved this place 3 weeks in advance because it was so tough to get a reservation at this place, even a week in advance! So to get to this restaurant, you would go inside Bluegold and the waiters in the front will direct you to LSXO. My first impressions of being inside was that it was very hip (love the music they played) and the decor was amazing. I loved how there was a lot of natural sunlight coming in and that this comes with the view of the ocean. However, it took some time for us to get water and to take our order. We pork chop - juicy and tender, pho banh cuon - delicious and refreshing, and the garlic noodles - really flavorful. However, everything was just on the salty side to the point I had to chug a lot of water. The desserts were great, but it was just on the more expensive side. The real bummer was the parking. Just to note that they only validate for 2 hours. However, from parking to going straight to LSXO to finishing dinner, took more than 2 hours. At the end, we had to pay $8 at the gate when we left! Pretty ridiculous! It's probably not at their control, but it would probably be better if they had a 3 hour validation so people don't have to rush in and out of here. The main reason why we went over 2 hours was because the food took SOO long to come out. Overall, this place was just okay. I'm super happy I tried this place though. It's still a good date night place.

A restaurant inside of a restaurant! Yep- speakeasy with fine dining food prices. Today I tried: The jade pendant - this drink was just OK Fried Sea bass - very tasty although the portion is small Grilled poke chop- amazing flavor and it's a good size! Park in the main lot and this place is located upstairs. Pacific City is a cute place to walk around.

Came on a Wednesday night with a friend to celebrate our birthdays. It was easy to make a reservation (through phone) but would highly recommend making one since the restaurant is tiny. It has sort of a speakeasy feel since it's inside of another restaurant called Bluegold. Our waitress was extremely sweet and went over the menu with us made recommendations. I got the butterfly effect and my friend got the don ovalle for cocktails. Both were so cute and delicious. For dinner, we shared the bo tai chan, pho banh cuon, house garlic noodles and the xoi sticky rice. Everything was absolutely phenomenal and very flavorful. We wish we could've tried more dishes but there's always next time!

Great hidden spot in HB, they initially walk you through a restaurant then guide you to a hidden door that leads to LSXO, it's a small room, so it's best for smaller groups to come in and enjoy. Anywhere you sat, you would get a view of the outside/ocean. They had a great selection of drinks here as well as their fusion food options. We ordered a few items to share with the table and it was perfect.

This place has been on my list for a while since I've frequented their Little Sister locations and have generally enjoyed those experiences (food, service, ambience). I was excited to learn about their more intimate, upscale spinoff, LSXO. I really wanted to love this place but it unfortunately fell flat for me. LSXO is a restaurant located within the restaurant Bluegold (on the second level of the Pacific City Shopping Center). There's no outside signage for LSXO. I only knew exactly where to go from the info I had previously read online, from their website as well as tips shared by other reviewers. LSXO is tucked away in the back corner and it feels like you're walking into a secret speakeasy. 5/5 Ambience. The highlight of our dining experience was probably the ambience. The restaurant is definitely small and intimate; it probably only seats 20-25 people. I love the decor, kinda evokes a sense of Old Saigon, or at least how it's been described to me by my parents or from seeing old family pictures. The place has big wall-to-ceiling windows. It lets in a lot of light and there are some nice views of Huntington Beach. 3/5 Service. The waitstaff were all nice but the service was painstakingly slow. Plates were brought out as they were ready, which was fine. What was disappointing was the incredibly loooong lag time in between the dishes. After we finished our salad (which we ate pretty slowly), we waited over 30 minutes before our next plate was delivered; our third and fourth plates came out another 30 minutes later. I noticed the other tables were waiting a long time in between their dishes as well, and there were maybe only a total of 14 people dining at the time. 2/5 Food. As someone who has liked the food offerings from the Little Sister menus, I was really disappointed in the quality of the food at LXSO. For the higher price point, I was hoping for better, I was hoping for higher quality. The meal started out well with the Vietnamese chicken salad, but it went downhill from there. The butter basted escargot with bone marrow was decent, nothing extraordinary. Our last two dishes were way too salty, the braised short rib and the caramelized prawn with pork belly. Both had an unsavory and unbalanced flavor profile and we couldn't even finish it. I appreciate the attempt to be a small, intimate upscale restaurant but the expectation is that the quality of the service and food would be elevated as well. This was unfortunately not my experience at LSXO and not one I will likely repeat, especially when there are so many great Vietnamese food options in the area.

Although a native to socal, I have lived outside this state for more than a decade now, so everytime i come back home to socal, there's always new food places to dine. This time around, we were lucky to have a socal friend reserve us a spot at LSXO. We were so lucky to get a seat here. It situated in Blue Gold right by the beach and HB Pier. Loved the view of the spot. It's definitely small and exclusive. Beautiful decor inside. Friendly and nice staff to attend to needs and orders. Food and drink menu were filld with beautifully crafted cocktails and dishes that did not disappoint the palate. Being vietnamese, I would say that they did a decent job at modernizing some of the traditional dishes that I grew up eating. We had a bit of everything with the highlight bo luc lac. The beef was tender, juicy and delicious. We did not leave any leftovers at the end of our time. Loved it all, thanks for providing a great dining experience.

LSXO is truly a hidden gem that exceeded all my expectations! From the moment I walked in, the ambiance transported me--it's intimate, stylish, and full of character. The menu is an absolute delight, with creative and flavorful dishes that showcase the perfect fusion of traditional Vietnamese cuisine with modern flair.

I just returned from a wonderful trip to Vietnam where I had amazing food and I was really in the mood for a great Vietnamese meal. This restaurant delivered! I ordered the Banh Xeo: a crispy Vietnamese crepe with prawns, pork belly, bean sprouts, rice noodles, herbs and greens. When the large dish was served to me I stuffed the crepe with herbs and greens, dipped it into the delicious sauce and really enjoyed eating it. The crunch of the crepe was perfect. This one dish was very filling. The waiter at the restaurant was very nice and helpful. The ambiance is unique: it's located within the Bluegold restaurant. I couldn't find LSXO and when I by chance asked the maitre'd at the Bluegold restaurant she told me that she would take me to it. It was like going to a speakeasy --- it's tucked away inside the Bluegold restaurant. The decor is somewhat ornate with shelves filled with interesting art, books and decorative items. And the restaurant overlooks the ocean. I'll return to try more of their dishes.

Wow!! Delicious Vietnamese food with an amazing ocean view! This small restaurant only seats under 30, so make sure you make reservations well in advance. We started with The Butterfly Effect cocktails, which comes with a sugary edible butterfly in it. Very tasty! For dinner we had the Imperial Roll, Green Papaya Salad, Fried Eggplant, and Grilled Pork Chop. The pork chop dish takes a long time, so we were glad we ordered the other items while we waited. Unfortunately, there is a 2 hour time limit, so we felt a little rushed to eat the pork chop when it was finally served. The waitress recommended that we only get 3 or 4 dishes to share and she was right, the portions were big and we couldn't finish it all. I definitely want to come back and try the other dishes.

Shared plates concept of elevated Vietnamese food, hidden inside Blue Gold. It's a small restaurant with a beautiful view of Huntington Beach. Super relaxing and slow dining experience. Shaky shaky beef was my favorite with the tomato rice, but the sticky rice in little crispy cubes was a close second. Service is friendly. There's only one server for the entire space though so be prepared to have a slow lunch.

We were really looking forward to trying this restaurant but were left very disappointed. We ordered the lobster dish listed as "market price," and to our shock, it ended up being $165. At that price point, we would have expected the waitress to give us a heads-up before we ordered, especially as a courtesy. As a customer, if the price is generally similar or slightly higher than most of the items on the menu then we don't need to know. But $165 , the waitress should mentioned that, especially if the most expensive item on the menu was around $40-$50. What we got for $165 was a single lobster with curry fried rice that had shrimp and bay scallops--definitely overpriced. Not an experience we'd repeat.

Don't go. Terribly incompetent staff. We called to make a reservation and were told that there was no need, as the restaurant was empty. Drove in the rain to get there and there were no tables available. Was told that every table was reserved. Asked to speak to the manager, only to find there is no manager. The front desk offered to take our email address and the manager would email us. Seriously?

We were excited to try a new place that was a mention in the Michelin guide. Service was excellent. Food was absolutely delicious. We tried the Butterfly effect it didn't seem like much alcohol was in it. So I went back to wine. Ambiance is tiny but nice.

The food was pretty good, we made reservations way in advance, and I would highly recommend it. Not sure what the parking situation is since we were staying closeby and just walked to the shopping plaza. LSXO (Little Sister Extraordinary) is tucked away inside Bluegold, so head on to the second floor, and check in with the host in Bluegold. They check your reservation and bring you in to the back behind some wooden doors. We were celebrating an anniversary and they offered a complimentary champagne or dessert. The service was excellent. If I were coming back, I would probably choose a lunch time since at night time, you can't see anything out the window, or the menu to be honest. The text were tiny and the room was dark, and I'm getting old :)

We came here for my birthday celebration. It is reservation only and the setting is very secluded and feels premium, exclusive in a charming oriental ambiance. It is a Vietnamese inspired fusion restaurant and our anticipation was high! The whole restaurant only has 6-7 tables with massive open windows with Pacific Ocean view. We started with spicy pork dumplings and shrimp spring rolls for appetizer, and ordered 4 different main dishes for family style sharing. The dishes were full of flavors and were spot on for my Asian palette . Some dishes also have side dipping sauce which can be very spicy. Try before you go all in! Dishes we ordered: Grilled sea bass (with a side dish of fresh and pickled vegetables for wrap), pork and shrimp dry vermicelli noodle (our table's favorite), lamb satay stew with noodle (my favorite as it is super flavorful), and spare ribs and shrimp with no carbs. Everything was FANTASTIC! Shoutout to our waitress Andrea who was able to waive the charge of a crispy shrimp dish that was ordered by mistake. She also sent a slice of birthday cake after the meal. What a nice touch!

While I was not a huge fan of the Little Sister restaurant in Irvine, I was blown away by the food and service we received at LSXO in Huntington Beach. The restaurant itself is located inside the Bluegold restaurant and you need to have reservations in order to eat here. Nowhere from the outside or inside the Bluegold restaurant is there any signage letting you know that LSXO exists in here! Both the Bluegold and LSXO face the Pacific Ocean plus the Huntington Beach Pier. The views of the ocean and the beach are amazing!! Upon arrival our hostess took us through the restaurant past the kitchen which led to a double door inside this hidden little gem. The restaurant was rather small and very tastefully decorated. Our server Andrea approached us shortly after we got seated and she was very attentive throughout our two hour lunch adventure! She was knowledgeable about the menu and made great recommendations. She checked on us regularly without being intrusive, ensuring that we had everything we needed. As our appetizer we started with the House bread from the menu which came with different spreads and a perfectly toasted Italian style bread. Next off we shared the Chao Chicken which was my first time experiencing this dish and I simply just loved it!! All the ingredients and the rice paired well together and the dish was very filling. For our main entree we picked the Shaky Shaky Beef which never disappoints. The beef is cooked to perfection at medium rare and is so flavorful. The side salad and the garlic rice are also very unique and something you won't find anywhere else. Overall, LSXO exceeded my expectations and completely changed my opinion of the Little Sister brand. Last make sure they validate your parking garage ticket for up to two hours of complementary parking. 5 stars for great ambience, delicious food and impeccable service. I'II be back! This was my second time for lunch. This place is Wonderful. Food, decor, view , and service are all impeccable. It I will be going back again and again.

Hidden gem Tucked away in the back of bluegold, this speak easy is a hidden gem. They don't have that many tables which is why I recommend making a reservation in advance. Started things off with their shrimp and pork dumplings which was really juicy and topped with mushrooms. For the mains, we tried their garlic noodles which is basically like a garlicky seasoned noodles. My fav was their crepes which was super crispy and loaded with shrimp and beansprouts, served with tons of veggies and herbs on the side. Portions were def larger than expected, we were super full at the end.

LSXO is an exclusive speakeasy located within Bluegold, which is on the 2nd level at Pacific City. I have been wanting to go since they opened, but they are so in demand it has been hard to secure a reservation. I was finally able to seize an opening for date night, strategizing for a timeslot that would allow my boyfriend and I to enjoy the views during daylight, thru the sunset, and at night. So romantic, right? The interior looks like the inside of the attic, to go along with their hidden speakeasy theme. I enjoyed the Christmas décor with the lights and the tree. There were 6 small tables and 4 stools at the bartender counter. Very exclusive limited seating. By the time we were leaving, every seat was filled. When reviewing their menu I was surprised by the limited amount of specialty cocktails and so much food options. For a speakeasy I would have expected the inverse. Of the 7 listed under specialty cocktail, there honestly were that many drinks I wanted to try. I ended up getting the Butterfly Effect ($17) which has vodka, elderflower, lychee, yuzu, grapefruit, and egg white. There was a butterfly on top but it looked sprayed on and not even that cute. With the drink I didn't taste much of the lychee, yuzu, or grapefruit. I think it would be better if they stayed strong with one flavor so I can take it. My boyfriend ordered off the menu and went with a Bramble ($22) with henricks as the choice of gin. It was nice if you like blackberry. Not the best drinks but it's okay. As snacks we decided to get the Grilled Pork Spring Rolls ($13) but they has an issue with their nem nuong setting that day so it was unavailable. We ended up with the Imperial Roll ($18) and the Pho Banh Cuon ($16). I really regret ordering food cause I can't say we loved either. The imperial rolls were super huge, oily and heavy. They come in an order of 3, and Anthony, our waiter was asking if we want to add an additional one. Good thing we said no. As for the pho banh cuon it was more like a burrito. The pho aspect of it was the brisket soaked in pho soup within the banh cuon roll. It banh cuon sheet was thick cold and hard. I felt like I just forced myself to eat it to not be wasteful and I didn't want to take anything home. Come for the views, and maybe enjoy a drink or two, but pass on the food. I highly recommend the sunset. Very romantic. I'm glad I was able to experience it with my boyfriend, but I'm not exactly in a rush to come back for a second visit.

It was truly a great experience dining at LSXO! We started off with cocktails, and at first I didn't think the butterfly effect had much alcohol because it tasted sweet almost like juice, but soon after finishing it, I started feeling a buzz, so it was definitely effective. Fortunately, the food began arriving then. The tables are small, and the dishes took varying times to prepare, so they staggered them and brought out one dish at a time, but their pacing was on point. Almost immediately after finishing a dish, the servers would come by to clear the table and soon after bring out the next dish. When our plates became dirty after a course, they'd switch them out for us. Service was attentive and exceptional. Out of the 3 dishes we ordered, I liked the crispy prawns the best, but the shaken beef, which was extra tender, and the hu tieu northern style Vietnamese soup followed very closely. It was nice seeing the modernization of authentic Vietnamese dishes that didn't incorporate elements of fusion from other cuisines. The only thing that wasn't authentic were the desserts. We glanced at the dessert menu, but all the options were standard American fare, so we passed on that. Drinks and dinner were good enough on their own. I highly recommend reserving a table here for your next date or small group dinner!

Loved having this entire ocean-view speakeasy to ourselves for a moment! Bubbly hosts led us to unmarked doors hidden between the kitchen and wine cellar. Upon entering LXSO, I felt like I was transported into an old manor that had been revived with hip hop throwbacks and dark, edgy decor. The menu offers refined versions of Vietnamese classics. For our appetizer, the coconut chili lime vinaigrette and herbs added gorgeous pops of color and acidity to the Salmon Crudo. Their Xoi Sticky Rice was fried into crispy, golden cubes of joy, coated with a savory sauce, married with abundant pork floss, and finished with an over-easy egg. Despite the amazing aromatics emanating from the Shaky Shaky Beef, the mixture of tough, chewy, and tender cubes left me wondering if some were shaken for too long. While you may find the same, if not better, flavors from Vietnamese mom-and-pop shops at a fraction of the price, just remember that the prices here not only reflect the food, but also the upscale ambiance, beachscape, and enthusiastic service :)

Shhh...want to know a secret? Make a left and spot an unmarked door, enter and secret will be revealed..... I definitely felt like I was getting insight into a secret as I walked into a hidden door located inside Bluegold restaurant in Pacific City. Behind the hidden door is LXSO; a lovely 28 seat restaurant. It is indeed a restaurant inside a restaurant. If you know, you know ;). Bluegold outside is already quite a sight but LXSO can definitely match in terms of an amazing atmosphere. The dark wooden decor gave speakeasy, classic vibes. Similar to Bluegold; there are beautiful ocean views that can be seen from the tables that overlook the beach. LXSO also happens to be sister restaurant to Chef Tin Vuong's Little Sister restuarants. Little Sister happens to be one of my all time favorite South Bay restaurants and so it was hard not to instantly become a fan of LXSO's offerings. The menu offerings are very similar and have many same Southeast Asian inspired dishes. We started off our meal here with Red Curry Spiced Pork Rinds with chili oil and scallions ($8). The pork rinds were perfectly crisp and light; making for a nice little starter. For the main meals; we got the Grilled Pork Chop, Sườn Nướng ($38) and the Banh Tam Bi rice noodles ($21). For the Sườn Nướng; I enjoyed LXSO's classic Vietnamese dish. The pork chops marinated in Vietnamese spices served with chciken fat rice, a fried egg, and fresh vegetables were quite fulfilling. I would have preferred the pork chops to be a little more lean but overall the dish was good. I also did like the Banh Tam Bi noodles. I liked how the noodles were soft and thick. Just like the Little Sister restaurants; I was definitely a fan of the flavors of the dishes here. The flavors of their dishes are fresh and light and I love their use of various spices and herbs such as Vietnamese mint and lemongrass. Hmm secret is out! I am a fan of LXSO.

Hidden gem with intimate setting and beautiful view. Lunch celebration with friends was delicious except for the house garlic noodles which was on the salty side and a bit over seasoned. We were able to diffuse it with vinegar. Our server was friendly and made some good recommendations. Overall the servers were busy (Valentine's Day) and wasn't able to give us their full attention but it wasn't inconvenient (for me). We were disappointed in their dessert selection and decided to find somewhere else to go for something sweet. We had mixed reviews on our favorite entree. I believe the Papaya Salad and the Fried Sea Bass were overall favorites with the House Garlic Noodles being our least favorite. We all enjoyed our lunch and it was a fond and memorable celebration of my "rewirement."

I've been to Little Sister in LA. This is an OC spinoff, which is actually inside another restaurant.. So it's got a speakeasy vibe. But it's not "that" secret. The hostess at the main loud restaurant takes you back to the little quiet space in the back, Its a lovely space, with a great ocean view: It's small, with less than 20 seats. The service is friendly and professional. The two waitpersons tag team. They do a good job. I asked for recommendations and received them. Thank you. The food is sublime. It is so good. I don't get some of the reviews. I suppose people could be here on off or on nights. But everything we had was great. My mom and i got 2 of their signature cocktails. My wife got a lemon drop. My mom got "The Butterfly Effect". .It was beautiful and had a cool butterfly drizzled into it; My mom loved it; my wife and I tasted it and loved it. I got the jade pendant , which is a cucumber vodka drink. It was refreshing. really great drinks. We ordered family style and the food was excellent. The bread with pate, butter, and pickled vegetables was a nice start. The pork dumplings were so lovely. The Imperial deep fried rolls were great. The Vietnamese chicken salad was fine, though not remarkable. The fried sea bass was delicious and flavorful. The shaky shaky beef was tender, flavorful, and delish. We could barely get to the garlic noodles, which were really tasty. This is a great restaurant with amazing food. It's excellent and i loved it. Given the amazing food we had, the price was more than fair. The space rocks. The service is excellent. This is as good as it gets.

Loved everything about this place! It is an intimate space, has a great hip hop playlist & delicious food and drinks. We tried the pork/crab dumplings, lemongrass chicken, shaky shaky beef & fried prawns. It was all delicious! My favorite was surprisingly the chicken. The service good too but they do have a strict policy of 2 hours and they reminded us of that a few times. They brought my hubby out a birthday dessert which was nice but I highly recommend the chocolate cake! I also had the butterfly effect, tried the siccario and the old fashion. All were tasty! Come here for a good vibe & delicious food!

Cute small restaurant with great view! We booked a lunch for a party of three. Amazing food ! It was so delicious, fresh , nicely presented and served! There was nothing that I didn't like about it. We had the papaya salad with shrimp, banh min pate , bone marrow, shaky shaky beef ,grilled pork spring rolls, crispy shrimp, and maybe some other food that I forgot but sure I enjoy it. Excellent service and waiter was very attentive. Later I found out that this place is a Michelin star rated! No wonder I liked everything!

I was looking for a nice restaurant to celebrate my birthday and found this place through Yelp. Location and Parking Google maps didn't do a good job of pinpointing the restaurant. It's at Pacific City mall on the second floor inside Bluegold restaurant. Parking is not free, so make sure to get your parking ticket validated to get two hours free. You can make reservations or walk-in when it's not busy. Make sure to call ahead of time and check. The host walks you to the back hallway and opens a door to the restaurant. You'll see the view of the palm trees and Huntington Beach. It's a small, intimate space with hip hop music playing the times I went. Food and Drinks The food and craft cocktails were delicious. The prices are on the higher end for Vietnamese food, but you're paying for the view, ambience, and high quality food and drinks. We liked all the cocktails on the menu and they're stiff. If you order "Cool Runnings" it's just double the servings of the drink, so that's why it's more expensive than the other drinks. It reminded us of a tropical pineapple drink. Expect to wait a bit for the food and drinks to come out. If you're celebrating a special occasion, they'll give you a complimentary dessert. So far we've had the escargot and bone marrow, fried sea bass, autumn rolls, and shaky shaky beef. Can't wait to come back and try different food.

Wow what a delicious experience LSXO was! I've been to Little Sister in Irvine once, and this was my first visit to LSXO so I kind of knew what to expect. First off, I ordered the Jade Pendant drink and it was so refreshing. I would've gotten another if I didn't have to work the next day ;) We ordered far too many dishes, even after a warning from the server but of course I didn't listen. The dumplings and autumn spring rolls were insanely delicious. I would love to thank whoever made the executive decision to serve the spring rolls with an abundant amount of peanut sauce!! Butttt I have to talk about the star of the show -- the grilled pork chop with chicken fat rice. I couldn't believe the sauce, marinade, tenderness of the pork chop. I can never get the dish anywhere else because the benchmark is now this. Definitely will come back!

Tucked away in Huntington Beach lies LSXO, an intimate restaurant dishing up crave-worthy Southeast Asian flavors from their small but mighty menu. From the pate-slathered bread to the papaya salad, each dish we tried delivered vibrant tastes reminiscent of the region. The shaky shaky beef dazzled with its crisp-edged wok-seared beef enveloped in a sweet, gingery glaze. The rare beef salad provided lovely textural contrasts with its mix of tender meat and crunchy veggies. And the classic garlic noodles? Perfectly sticky and pungent. Beyond the spot-on flavors, the moody, romantic setting enhances the dining experience. With just a handful of tables in a cozy space, it feels like your own private restaurant for the night. Service was also excellent, waitress was very friendly and they came by to ask us how we were doing several times throughout the meal and helped refill water cups. From start to finish, LSXO provides a transportive, intimate evening filled with phenomenal Southeast Asian fare, drinks, and ambiance. It's a true Huntington Beach gem for a memorable night out.

It didn't take long for me to go back to LSXO and try more food. Everything we had was exceptional!!! The escargot appetizer was my favorite this time. The escargot was tender, not chewy, and packed with flavor. The pate and butter with the baguette crostini amazing. Pate can sometimes be gamey and this NOT. Just rich, smooth, and a bit more subtle in flavor than other pates I've had which complemented the crostini really well. The beef tartare was not overly meaty and a very healthy portion. It paired well with the rice cake in both flavor and texture. It was a little in the spicy side but you could pick out the small peppers if you want. The garlic noodle was not just a blast of garlic but well balanced with other flavors. The pork chop was cooked to perfection! It was juicy and not dry like most. I didn't care for the bitter greens with it but that's just my preference. Lastly, we saved room for dessert and I have to say the pecan was delicious. It was not as dense as most I've tried and I like that. It was not overly sweet either and you could really enjoy the pecan flavor. The lemon was also delicious. Not overly sweet. The lemon was tart and balanced with the fluffy slightly sweet meringue. The crust was softer than I prefer. I tend to like a crisper crust to add a little texture but loved this dessert anyway Service was amazing again and the ambiance is just right! One of my favorite hidden gems!

Food was delicious!! Didn't know it was gonna be a hidden gem inside of the Bluegold restaurant. Definitely speakeasy vibes it was a cute little secret spot. The last samurai was my favorite drink. 10/10 recommend. Service was great.

We dined here last time with a 8:15 pm OpenTable reservation. Arrived early and they were able to seat us at 8:05pm. Inside was a small space and we only saw maybe 6 tables. It feels intimate and cozy with some nice views of the ocean and beach. We ordered 4 items that were very good and couldn't even finish! 1) red and black rice with seafood - reminds me of a paella and delicious 2) braised short ribs with French bread, great flavors and enjoyed the pate they had on the side 3) sea bass - crispy skin, very nice 4) vermicelli with shrimp, couldn't finish and had to take it home Quaint little place and had speakeasy vibes. Most people were there to have some alcoholic drinks and eat dinner too.

This place was recommended to me from someone who has eaten there a few times and loved it. It is "secret" restaurant within a restaurant off to the left side of Blue Gold restaurant. The area was old school James Bond style wood paneling on the walls, a bar with leather stools and what looked like AK-47 wallpaper on the back of the bar. I came with people who have never tried Vietnamese food before so I ordered some popular dishes for them. Papaya Salad: This slices of green papaya with onions, beansprouts, three shrimp with a spicy sauce. This was really refreshing and the salad was nice and crunchy. The shrimp were cooked perfectly. Chicken pho: Chicken came with large pieces of chicken breast, fried shallot, sliced onions and chicken meatballs. This was a big bowl of pho and I wasn't able to finish it. Shaking beef: This came with grilled onions, tomatoes and two sunny side up eggs. This was a hit and my party loved this. Garlic noodles: What's not to love? Garlic noodles was gone in no time, garlicky, butter and oh so good. Service was attentive and I managed to make new fans of Vietnamese food.

Very nice with a great view but music is Eminem and Dr Dre so it's a touch off putting for families and does not match the decor of the restaurant. When leaving, I saw a sign that indicated that they were down with the artists and while I think it is an interesting niche, not so kid friendly. Went there for our anniversary, to see what this little back entrance area was all about. The scenery is indeed nice but really is not different than the front of the restaurant (BlueGold). They have some interesting Vietnamese inspired dishes on the menu as LSXO (Little Sister EXtraOrdinary) is known for. Garlic noodles, pho banh cuon, sea bass and shake shake beef was our choosing for the meal. My favorite was the shaky shaky beef, which I found tender and flavorful. Well cooked and all the pieces had a nice chew to it. The garlic noodles were just okay but I found them to be a bit pasty and not really to my liking, I think it was maybe because the noodles were overcooked or something but also I think the butter in the sauce started to coagulate a bit and turned white in some places. The absolute worst part of the meal was the bass that I see other reviewers talking about. This was a complete mushy mess of tiny square of bass. Thin and overcooked, it is served with a bunch of greens and stuff to make your own lettuce wraps with sauce and peanuts. This was a disaster as the fish could be wiped on the lettuce and had zero flavor. If it was not for the occasion, I would have returned it immediately. Service was okay, it did take a bit to get the dishes but overall if you are into a little mystery find, sure give it a try but you won't find me returning.

This is a boutique Vietnamese fusion place with a good view to the pier. Food is delicious but service is slow. There are only 6 tables. Even though we requested window seat, we got assigned to a small table at the door which is too small for all the food we ordered.

Amazing. Tried to find parking and thought was going to miss my 1pm lunch. When calling to let them know we would be very late due to being unable to find parking since there was an event going on at the beach. They were very accommodating. Walked into the restaurant and was walked back to LSXO and it felt like we were going into a secret room. The restaurant itself was not very large but what a view of The beach. The imperial rolls were crispy and perfectly fried with the dipping sauce to highlight the different meats. The papaya salad was delicious with all fresh vegetables and the dipping sauce was a slight variation that complements the dish. The giant prawns were so big and yummy. The sea bass was also very delicious, but I was so full that I couldn't really enjoy it. The portions are huge for every dish. The drinks were out of this world. They were perfectly balanced so that you couldn't even barely taste the alcohol, which is obviously very dangerous.lol The service was attentive and everything about the meal was fantastic.

Came with a party of 4 on a Sunday night around 7pm. The restaurant is located on the 2nd floor, inside Bluegold. I had a bit of trouble finding LSXO until I read the reviews on Yelp from other diners. = FOOD = Our waitress recommended we order 5-7 dishes, so we did. However, when we got the food, it was huge portions... We got the Vietnamese Chicken Salad (very delicious, but a little spicy), Xoi sticky rice (super savory but amazing taste), pork spring rolls (very refreshing with the sauce), Shakey Shakey Beef (a lot of beef and the rice was really good!), house garlic noodles (a little meh, wish they would've incorporated some more garlic sauce for this one), and lastly we also got the caramelized salmon clay pot (this had rice included, and if we weren't so full from everything else, it probably would've been very delicious). We also didn't get any dessert, but the Vietnamese coffee tart sounds good. = SERVICE = Our waitress was super nice and kept coming around to check up on us. Besides recommending us to order way too much food, we didn't regret it because it all tasted delicious. = AMBIANCE = The place is super small, like the size of my bedroom, and only has 6 tables. I think at max, it can fit 24 people. The tables by the windows have a great view of the beach and the crashing waves. I would recommend this place and I will definitely be coming back in the future.

Returned with different friends, and everyone loved the ambience, the view of the beach, and most importantly, the food. We all love the salmon clay pot, the Seabass, egg rolls, and the papaya shrimp salad. Everything was delicious and the service was good. There's still more things on the menu that we were not able to try and will definitely return!
