"With Godfather-like origins, Lucia’s allegedly secured its place in the North End’s culinary scene in 1977 with the blessing of the neighborhood’s former “capo.” Since its inception, the restaurant has been specializing in the cuisine of the Abruzzo region in Italy. Adding to its lore, a sign proudly displayed at the entrance attests that even Tom Brady — in his rookie days with the Patriots — used to frequent the establishment to pick up mouthwatering meals for the team." - Erika Adams, Nathan Tavares, Tommy Ranucci

"In a unique pandemic-born partnership, North End restaurant Lucia got the blessing of the neighboring historic St. Stephen’s Church to utilize their outdoor courtyard for sun-soaked patio dining in warmer months. The restaurant restored the church’s courtyard patio in preparation for the development and now offers rare off-street patio dining overlooking the neighborhood’s main thoroughfare." - Eater Staff

We were just walking around the neighborhood and decided to eat at this restaurant and it was a very late lunch. We ordered a steak and minestrone soup of the day. The steak was well done and the soup was jus perfect not salty at all.

I'm definitely glad we decided to walk further down the street and found this place. Wow, the food was amazing!! So much flavor! The atmosphere was perfect for an authentic Italian dinner. If you're looking for authentic Italian food, I'd definitely check this place out.

Lucia, come for the food but stay because you don’t get waited on. Arrived for reservations and they did not greet me or even ask for my name. After standing in front of the table I heard them yell my name. That was very odd and honestly, how rude. They really do have such a great menu and good food. It is delicious and flavorful but GOSH, the service is always soooo slow and awful. Our server did not bring bread like all the other tables had, our waters were never refilled, never asked for another drink and it was a pain to get his attention to even order food. Once we got our food, it was delicious like always. I am always disappointed in how we are treated but the food is good. Maybe takeout in the future will become my thing. We would have ordered more drinks but that was not an option when you don’t get asked or checked on. Had a friend visiting from Ireland and this is where I brought her, not the best example of the North End.

It's nothing fancy. Do not get a cocktail, stick to wine. Food was absolutely delicious. Despite having a reservation we were sat in the basement, ambiance left a lot to be desired.

Google
Very charming place. Service was on the slower side, but as a European I appreciate not being rushed through the meal. Lasagne was very tasty but only lukewarm which dampened the experience. Also it was very hot inside, no A/C and they didn't open the windows. Definitely room for improvement.

Google
tasty meal, nice outside seating and people watching, the weather was great but they can't get credit for that... bread was really good. everyone had a really good plate oh and the meatball was yummy.

Wow! A hidden gem in North End. My husband (first gen Italian American and I) stopped in on our daytrip to Boston and got the Veal Saltimbocca and the calamari to split. Both of us agreed the veal was the best we had ever had - and the calamari too! Great portion sizes to split. Atmosphere was wonderful, we sat outside in the churchyard seating. Great view of the street and little Italy.

Delicious! The lobster cannelloni with vodka sauce is off menu but totally recommended. The spaghetti was also very good :)

Yelp
My wife and I visited Lucia for a late lunch during a recent visit to Boston. The experience was awesome and the staff and management were so pleasant and welcoming. I will remember the experience as a highlight of our visit. The food was excellent and served quickly. Lucia is a great example of the wonderful beautiful Northern section of Boston. Frank, the general manager of the restaurant was so kind and gave us some great insights to the history of the area.

Yelp
We walked through Hanover street on a busy Thursday evening and found seating at Lucia. Actually at St Stephen's church across the restaurant location, which I assumed is basically "holy" ground. The main restriction we were told was no hard liquor, only beer and wine :-) Beautiful September evening outside. Had the Carrozza - awesome cheese and Prosciutto starter. Ordered the Harpoon IPA beer and was given two half-warm bottles (not stored long enough in the fridge), but got two ice cold replacements. :-)

Yelp
Yelp review Food: 5/5 | Service: 1/5 | Ambiance 4/5 Such a strange experience. The food was excellent, but the service was nearly nonexistent. We were seated and served no bread, ordered our meals, and then had to flag someone down for drink refills--which still took a long time. Our server never checked in with us once. It wasn't just our table either; the group next to us couldn't get service and left out of frustration, though at least they got bread. After we finished eating, we had to ask for the check twice. This experience left a bad impression, especially since I was showing a friend around the city during their visit. Unfortunately, it was a disappointing way to end their trip. Would not go back to sit in. Take out only.

Yelp
Rant: Some of the reviews for Lucia are mind-boggling to me. I get that service can really derail a meal, but the blatent blasting of the quality of the food makes me question what kind of food these people actually enjoy. The one thing that I was able to correlate was the complaints were primarily lumped in 2 major categories: service and lunch (sometimes BOTH). /rant Lucia lived up to it's roots - a 1970s mafia-capo-approved restaurant. It blends traditional with modern touches in the space and makes you feel like you are in a true trattatoria in Rome, Florence, or even Venice (minus the smell) when they have the windows and doors open. The food is perfection: pasta with a firm texture, calamari dredged and fried to perfection, meatballs that my Italian wife approves (not many places get that approval), and the sauce that accompanied my buccatini and my wife's gnocci tasted as if it was simmered from the day before. The price is inline with the North End, but one of the few places I don't actually mind paying the price for this type of quality. The menu boasts house specialties FROM Italy, not bastardized American versions of Italian classics. We shared 6 different dishes that were paired with perfect Italian wine selections (super Tuscans and montepulciano wine d'abruzzo, which makes sense since the theme of the place is the d'abruzzo region). While the service was not necessarily superb, it didn't leave us walking away begrudging the experience like a lot of the lower ratings ranted about. Could it improve? Sure. Enough to draw away from the amazing food and ambiance? No, not at all. Lucia moves at the pace that things do in Italy, it's a bit slow and not overbearing. The entire feel of the place transported me from Boston to Italy in an instant. While it may not be for everyone, there is nothing negative I have to say about Lucia - but that's because Italy is one of, if not my favorite places in the world. It's not America, it's not rude and fast-paced, but that's WHAT I love about Italy AND Lucia.

Yelp
It's rare that I leave a less than 5 star review, but occasionally it happens. This was one of the most disappointing lunches I've ever shared with my daughter. We were seated promptly and water was poured for us pretty fast while we looked over the menu. My daughter wanted to split the "Tricolore" dish, which on the menu says it's a portion for two, but I say "Nay, Nay!" It was $39 for the dish and the portion was barely enough for one person. It was so tiny!!! So, we decided to order some calamari when our waitress came back but she didn't show back up until we were completely done and sitting there staring at each other for a good 5 minutes, so opportunities were lost. We looked at the dessert menu but decided against it, since we were beginning to feel unwelcome. I just paid the bill and we left. Very disappointed and still hungry. I am sad...

Yelp
We absolutely loved this place! Everything in the north end is expensive, but we had a great experience!!! It was very loud upstairs, but it was fine. We ordered the calamari to start with and the Carrozza! I loved the light breading on the calamari and the Carrozza is a must! My friend got the carbonara. Solid!!! Further away from the camera! My husband got the Pollo Francesco - that was my favorite, to the right. I got the Quattro Formaggi with chicken on the left! We split the cheapest bottle of red and it was great!

Yelp
What a fantastic Italian restaurant. Very classy with reasonable pricing. Rare these days. Savoy, our server for the evening was just wonderful. Appetizer, entrees and dessert amazing. My husband thought his veal was the best he'd ever had. Thrilled to have had such a wonderful dining experience on our second visit to the area. Actually our experience was so fantastic two years ago we made it a plan to visit Foxboro just to dine at Luciano's!

Yelp
Grabbed a table in the courtyard which is off to the side of the restaurant. The service was initially very poor as while we waited more than fifteen minutes for someone to take a drink order (only after asking the hostess if we should move inside for better service), the two hostesses had time to dance on the front sidewalk and snap selfies while we waited. Our server (Maria, per our receipt) did a good job of picking up the pace and she provided excellent service after our initial complaint. Our first glasses of house Pinot Grigio (Montini Pinot Grigio) were undrinkable. Maria substituted these with a sparkling rose (Le Monde) which was very good. We had the Antipasto Nostrano which was a little light on substance but very good. We also had the Pollo Lucia, the Vitello Marsala, and the Saltimbocca. These were good, solid dishes, but nothing extraordinary. We also had the Montepulciano d'Abruzzo red which was good, but not terrific. This was a dining experience that started off with a very bad initial impressions due to the very slow service and the dancing and selfie-taking hostesses who were oblivious to customers receiving bad service. Our server turned out to be very good. The food was good but not great. I would go back but will probably try a different Italian restaurant before doing so.

Yelp
Some of the best Italian food I've had in a long time. We had a party of 8 (which is extremely difficult to find a restaurant in Boston that accommodates this party size) and they were more than happy to accommodate us. Definitely recommend calling in the morning to make a reservation, as the line for walk-ins was quite long. The service was excellent and the food was delicious. We had the risotto special, brigante di penne, veal, and tricolore. Would recommend all of them. The drinks are also great, especially the italian margarita. Will be returning if we ever end up back in Boston!

YiQiu H.

Yelp
All 4 items we ordered tasted like frozen Costco product microwaved. Too bad it was for a special occasion. Do not recommend.

Yelp
When we first got here, we were seated upstairs next to a very loud table. The ambiance and vibe upstairs was not as cute as downstairs, so I was disappointed, but our waiter kindly moved us downstairs after our request! So the service here is 5/5! The food did not fully live up to our expectations, but for the reasonable price, I'd say it's decent and you get what you pay for. I got the Maielando, which was good but didn't have any protein in it. That being said, it was still very filling! There was a bit of a floury/odd aftertaste and there wasn't too much happening flavor wise , but other than that it was yummy (3/5 stars). My brother got the Brigante di Penne and said it was pretty good (4/5 stars). My dad got the Ammazzafame and said it was really good but very meat heavy (4/5 stars). Overall, I rate our experience a 3.5/5 stars! Would recommend if you want to eat in little Italy on a "budget" and don't care too much for real authentic Italian cuisine.

Yelp
I was able to grab a table for 2 on a very busy afternoon without having a prior reservation. I would definitely suggest calling ahead before hand. The portion size size was perfect and the bread basket was good but didn't taste super fresh. I was happy to see they had quite a few options without red sauce, so if you are like me and get heart burn from red sauce you will like the menu as well. The dining room was quite small and cramped. Our dining table for 2 was about the size of my bed side table. It did take a while for us to get our glass of wine, it came out about halfway through our meal. Overall the food was very good but I feel like there are more comfortable places to sit down in the north end.

Sincere J.

Yelp
Cute and cozy restaurant. I think it was nice that I made it in and they weren't too busy. I think it was even nicer that they made this tasty lobster ravioli for me when I inquired if they had it as an offering. I think the young lady said it's more like a cannoli shape instead of traditional ravioli. The presentation as you can see was very picturesque and it was very tasty, the shape made it a little challenging for consumption as it would spill out both sides otherwise great meal. I had a simple lemonade and was out the door. The seating was quick, the food arrived in a reasonable time, the waitresse(s) seem to be doing their own thing so there wasn't much conversation but perhaps next time I can be persuaded to try something of the dessert menu-honestly was willing to try something additional as..I came to treat myself after an long day- but we all have long days... some days.

Yelp
Whenever I am in Boston, I make it a point to get to the North End at least once for an authentic Italian meal. This trip we tried Lucia and like the other spots I've been, zero disappointments. So so good! This place has probably the largest outdoor patio dining area of all the restaurants we passed, and the menu looked unique so we opted for here. I ordered the Caesar salad and the Ammazzafame pasta. One of the house specialties that came with porcini mushrooms, Italian sausage, broccoli, sun-dried tomatoes and capers in a garlic white wine sauce. I wish it had a few less mushrooms and a few more tomatoes and broccoli, but that's just my personal veggie preference. It was delicious! My mom got the bruschetta and the pollo focaccia, which was a chicken dish with fried artichokes, prosciutto and some other goodies. Hers had a bunch of olives so I wasn't about to dig in and try too much (I hate olives), but she said it was equally amazing. Service was great. If you are in Boston -- check this one out.

Jen S.

Yelp
We came in during St Anthony's Feast- late lunch. Was surprised to get a table. Had been wanting to try this place. They are kid friendly so that's a plus though they don't have a kid menu (at least we weren't offered one? That's ok because our kid doesn't eat restaurant food anyway ; we have to pack his lunch. Such is life of a SPD kid!). Anyway - for a busy restaurant in a busy location, the ambiance was decent; we did not feel rushed. Everyone is nice. The menus are fading. It was hard to see what was on them! Bread for the table was great Pollo Francesco: Husband's order. Marinara not spicy but definitely flavorful. Pollo Lucia: mine. Didn't love fried artichokes. Personally would have preferred them without the breading. I love artichokes otherwise. Lots of mushrooms. Chicken was fine but not as lemony flavorful as I was hoping. My husband and I only ate half; swapped dishes for dinner later. We both preferred the Francesco. There are other dishes we'd like to try so I'm sure we'll be back.

Yelp
Tried this italian restaurant the other day in the north end. I have to say it was very pleasant and had great food. The arsthetic of the place was good and the staff were excellent. The food we got was very well done and had good portions, just enough fora good dinner. My penne vodka was very delicious and my family enjoyed their dishes. This place is a very classic italian restaurant and is a great option when you visit the north end.!

Elizabeth M.

Yelp
We stopped in here for a late lunch in the North End; it was super yummy! I had a glass of Pinot Grigio and a bowl of minestrone fagioli. My husband had the lasagna which was really good. Our service was kinda slow, but our waters were kept full and we weren't in a hurry. We had a great time!

Mel B.

Yelp
This place was too loud and crowded with annoying drunk slightly racist teenagers, however that is my fault for going on a Saturday night. Food was alright, the servers were super sweet, a bit odd how all Spanish people work at an Italian restaurant, because of the language barrier they messed up my order and put cheese. On my vegan dish but it's whatever I'd come here again, just on like a Tuesday! The owner seems very friendly he was sitting in the corner smiling. Pasta was cooked well Prices are alright 130 USD, 2 apps, 3 entrees, 1 drink

Michael R.

Yelp
We stopped into Lucia Ristorante as we were looking to eat outside on a beautiful day in the North End. This is one of the few places with a true outdoor patio. We were seated promptly and the hostess advised that liquor laws only allow them to serve beer, wine and light cocktails (such as Aperol Spritz) on the patio. Full bar is available inside only. Not an issue as we enjoyed two perfectly made Aperol Spritz outdoors. Service was pleasant and prompt, however nobody ever checked in after food was delivered. Thankfully there were no real issues. The restaurant provides a nice basket of bread at no charge, always appreciated when at an Italian restaurant (or any for that matter). It seems so many are charging for bread now, and it just seems wrong at an Italian restaurant. Not a problem here! We started with an order of Carrozza, think of a fancy mozzarella stick, but bigger and thinner, and stuffed with prosciutto. This was served on a plate with very tasty pasta sauce. Delicious, but my only complaint was the dish was luke warm and not piping hot. For the main course, I had Lasagna. This was a different take on many that I've had, but it was delicious. While the noodles and sauce were traditional, the meat stuffing had the cheese blended into it. It was a hearty and tasty change of pace. I would order this again. Same comment as before, food was warm, not hot. Overall we were satisfied with our meal. With a little more attention to detail such as making sure the plates are hot and sent out immediately, and checking in to be sure all is well would elevate this restaurant a notch.

Bob M.

Yelp
I went to this restaurant with me and my dad. We got seated for a table for 2 the second we walked in. Waitress poured our water and gave us a bit to look over the menu she came back over and we ordered our food. The food came out quickly. The food tasted good it had a nice cream sauce with my pasta and the bread they brought out was really good. It wast that busy like other reviews said but I did go there at about 1:40 pm so most people already had lunch so it could have been busy earlier but when I went it wast. The decorations were really cool looking.

Doreen C.

Yelp
Came here for dinner on Monday night for a party of 2 and was seated immediately. The ambiance of the restaurant was quite romantic and dim which I thought was a nice plus. We ordered the seafood bowl (forgot the actual name of the dish) and the fettuccini. Both were very solid dishes. I particularly liked the fettuccine noodles - it was cooked at the perfect thickness/cookedness to my liking. And they definitely gave a generous portion of seafood! Giving 4 stars instead of 5 cause it's a solid place, but nothing particularly blew my mind. Would recommend if you find yourself in the north end of Boston looking to try some Italian food!

Narine G.

Yelp
Friendly mom and pop shop in the heart of the north end. My cousins and I stumbled upon this restaurant along our walk of the north end. The ambiance is quiet yet homey. Service was good and we rated the food as follows: * calamari 9.5/10 * bruschette 7/10 * guazzetto di mare 9/10 * gnocchi 9/10 * pappardelle bolognese 8/10 Overall, good dining service amongst a sea of options.

Peaches G.

Yelp
Was not expecting much given some poor reviews. Exceeded expectations for the well prepared food, attentive service, and comfortable seating arrangements. Would recommend.

Larry D.

Yelp
Excellent Ceasar salad with extra anchovies on top, and tangy house dressing for the house salad. Rich traditional red sauces and the meatballs are a must. One of the couple can't miss old traditional Italian and Sicilian spots on Hanover.

Anna J.

Yelp
We met a large group here for dinner on a Thursday evening and it was bustling! The wait staff was amazing throughout the entire evening and very patient with us and our large party. I got a glass of the house red to drink and it was great and there was complimentary bread service. For our apps, we got the bruschetta and the calamari. The bruschetta was fresh and delicious and simple. The calamari was excellent and peppery!! For my main, I got the mare e monte and it was to die for. The mussels and the seafood were well cooked and the tomato sauce was a great chance from the cream sauces most seafood dishes have. For dessert, we got the budino and tiramisu and wow to die for! Creamy and excellent. Overall, Lucia was an amazing Italian restaurant and delicious.

Elizabeth S.

Yelp
Since 1979, I have come to Lucia whenever I travel to Boston. The scallopine abruzzese remains a favorite, that I have never been able to find much less match in the US or Italy. We delayed our flight out of Boston on our way back from the Cape so we would have enough time for a meal at Lucia. So pleased that the food and service are so good all these years.

John R.

Yelp
A friend took me to Lucia's for Italian, and I was impressed. The place had those classic Italian vibes, and the food delivered on the promise of authenticity. Despite the crowds, we were seated and served quickly. I appreciated the region-specific dishes and how they were subtly different from the traditional Italian food I'm more used to.

Megha D.

Yelp
We came on a Thursday evening with a large group for graduation dinner! The staff was very accommodating of our large group and the restaurant had plenty of seating upstairs, downstairs, and outside. I had a couple glasses of Sauvignon Blanc which was so crisp and refreshing! For appetizers, we had the bruschetta as well as calamari. The bruschetta was fresh and the calamari was delicious! For dinner, I had the Amazzafame. It's a house specialty and was super delicious! I loved the sausage and mushrooms! My table also tried some other dishes including the mare e monte, Quattro formaggi, and maielando. For dessert, we had the budino and tiramisu which were so creamy and delicious!! Overall, Lucia was such a wonderful dinner and would definitely return!

Raquel G.

Yelp
Ugh super disappointing. Typical prices (expensive) for the North end but not with the delicious food that should accompany it. My salad sucked and was primarily lettuce ($17)....ridiculous. My martini was good tho. Not sure why im giving this 3 stars but probably actually deserves only 1 or 2

Julie W.

Yelp
The food was great! Good service. We ate outside and it was a beautiful day. I had the lasagna and my friend had the chicken parm. Both loved what we ordered. This was my first time there and I'd definitely go back.

A.Nereo S.

Yelp
Great experience. Had a reservation for 3, no waiting. Prompt service, as the waiter Enrique, came right up and introduced himself. The food was fantastic. 3 pasta entrees, 2 apps(fried mozzarella and meatball side). I always notice the bread. This was real Italian bread, fresh, soft inside, and firm crust. I couldn't get enough of it, and they gladly put out more. My Scaloppine Abruzzese was outstanding. Chicken, veal, and ziti. I tasted the other dishes, Macheroni Amatriciana, and pollo francesco, and all a thumbs up. Portions were just right, not small or mammoth. Like a good authentic Italian restaurant should serve. The manager also came up to ask how everything was, and introduced himself, Frank. Was genuine, shared his family story coming from Abruzzo, just as mine did. Thats pretty close to a real paesano. Will definitely be back.

Peter B.

Yelp
WAY BELOW AVERAGE italian food. I'm guessing previous reviewers have never had great or even good Italian because this is not it. Out of six meals and appetizers most were tasteless wasted efforts. We should have known when they took reservations and allowed Credit cards in the North End. Most places are cash only and are booked solid.... Ambiance and service were good which is why its a 2 star not a one but I would steer clear and find better it shouldn't be hard to do.

Carolina V.

Yelp
On Saturday, I went to sit on the terrace to eat. No one asked me anything. After 15 minutes, a very annoyed lady approached me to ask if I had a reservation or had gone through the front. Since no one had informed me, I didn't know those were the steps I had to follow. I went to the reception, and another annoyed lady started scolding me for sitting down without notice. When I asked if I could make a reservation for later, she told me no because there was no room and that they didn't serve just 1 person. Beyond my ignorance, it was very sad to receive this treatment, especially since it was my birthday and it ended up ruined. The attention and treatment of the customer were very poor

Jim K.

Yelp
Good luck getting service. Waitress can only work one table at a time. They have a bunch of hostesses though, standing around doing nothing.

Gloria M.

Yelp
Came in here on a Friday night and it was pretty busy but the inside was nice and old school. We ordered drinks and waited around 45 minutes for them to arrive at our table which always puts a damper on the evening when you are hungry. The food came out faster than the drinks did and it was pretty good. I enjoyed the sausage and mushroom pasta that I had. The Caesar salad wasn't our favorite and the penne vodka was fine. Probably won't be back.

Moni G.

Yelp
Food was good... service took to long and no one checked on me once meal was delivered. not a great place for a solo traveler...

Olive M.

Yelp
Recently had a disappointing dinner here. Terrible service. We waited a LONG time for our server to come to our table even though people who were seated after us were getting attention (we had a different server). This continued throughout the meal. At one point I had to go in search of our server because, even asking other servers for our server, he never came and neither did our food. I was literally walking around the restaurant trying to find him or a manager or anyone. Once I finally found him, he seemed to realize he had completely forgotten about us (I think he never even put our order in) and apologized BUT he continued to be nowhere to be found for the rest of the meal. The food was bland and underwhelming -- not terrible but not at all up to what I would expect. (I had lunch here once a few months ago and had a fine experience, which is why I went back). I live in town and was very sad to have such a disappointing experience at one of the few restaurants in our town. There is a lot to choose from in neighboring towns. I won't be going back to Lucia's.

Rachael H.

Yelp
I am in Boston for work fairly often and plan my trips around being able to get dinner here- I love Lucia that much! It is easy to make a reservation online, it stays fairly busy so I would highly recommend doing that. The tables can be somewhat tight but that is not atypical for spots in the north end. Fairly casual dress is fine- we saw a range from Celtics jersey and jeans to formal attire. The olive oil for the bread is the owner's family's recipe and incredible. The drink menu is extensive and they even have seasonal specials like a sugar cookie martini at Christmas. I always order the chicken parm with pink sauce and it's fantastic. Too good for me to dare to try anything else. The pasta is handmade daily. The portions are giant and I've never left without leftovers. The staff is always very friendly, knowledgeable about the menu and flexible on dish accommodations. The service is quick- almost too quick, I got my food before I could finish my first glass of wine, but that is a great "problem" to have! With so many restaurants to choose from in the North End, Lucia is hands down the best option.

Steven W.

Yelp
Made reservations for 2 for a Sunday dinner in June with no issues. The interior decor instantly gave classic Italian vibes the minute you walked in. Very North End feels with the bricks. They do indoor and outdoor dining. Dishes came out relatively quick, which we appreciated. We ordered the bruschetta, salad, a chicken dish, and a delicious carbonara plate. Server was attentive, food was delicious and we were truly stuffed. Pasta was fresh and the dishes were all presented well.

Yelp
Lucia is rated on many lists among the top places to eat in the North End so we were quite looking forward to it. The added bonus was we were able to get a reservation on the same day. We ordered two dishes recommended by the waiter, Maccheroni Amatriciana and Guazzetto di Mare. The Maccheroni was unexpectedly porky, in between bacon and ham, but once I got used to it I enjoyed it more. The Guazzetto was excellent. When I think of what is the best kind of Italian food, dishes like this come to mind. Next time instead of the Maccheroni I will order the Ammazzafame, the specialty of the house. Or just order the Guazzetto, it's big enough for two. Also the olive oil was really good and the bread was excellent.

Yelp
Brown water pasta I could make better Italian food with my eyes closed. Started off with bruschetta first of all it's summertime. Tomatoes are everywhere to see ripe tomatoes. No, we got halfway ripe San Marzano's chunked mozzarella cheese fell off the bread absolutely no flavor. Our next appetizer was like a fried mozzarella with supposedly Prosciutto inside... like maybe. Sliver. We've eaten on the north end many times we've always had great food and great service. How do you mess up Italian food this bad? Service was terrible. Never came by never asked how our food was never refilled our drinks so completely disappointed. The menus were so old and decrepit. You could read only half the menu because they were worn out. I mean come on the owners making handover fist, at least get some good food and re-print your menus for God sakes.

Yelp
Title: Disappointing Experience at Lucia Boston Restaurant I recently visited Lucia Boston Restaurant with high expectations, hoping to indulge in a delightful culinary experience. However, I must admit that my visit left me feeling quite disappointed, particularly with their onion soup. The onion soup at Lucia Boston was truly underwhelming. It lacked depth and flavor, leaving me with the impression that I was essentially sipping on a bowl of boiled water with a few onions thrown in. The lack of seasoning and complexity in the soup was a letdown, especially considering that onion soup is typically known for its rich and comforting taste. A warm, comforting soup can be a highlight of any meal, but unfortunately, that was not the case at Lucia Boston. It is disheartening when a renowned restaurant like Lucia Boston fails to deliver on a classic dish like onion soup. While the ambiance and service were decent, the lackluster soup left a lasting negative impression. I hope that the restaurant takes this feedback constructively and considers improving the quality and flavor of their dishes, specifically the onion soup. In conclusion, my experience at Lucia Boston Restaurant was far from satisfactory, primarily due to the disappointing onion soup. I would hesitate to recommend this establishment to those seeking a flavorful and enjoyable dining experience.

Yelp
Wonderfully accommodating! We put our name on another wait list, but wondered down by this place while killing time... seated immediately on the outdoor patio on a perfect evening. Hostess was welcoming, waiter was pleasant & helped us with decisions by explaining his preferences & flavors, food served hot & portions were not too much, even other patrons were friendly when we asked about a served desert at the table behind us . Wine was good, an over all great experience for a Saturday evening from out of town!!! Definitely put this on your list to visit!

Yelp
Not the best. 7:00 reservations, ordered by 7:10. Got our apps 5 minutes later and dinner right after. Food not great. My husbands chicken parm was like shoe leather and burnt. Small portions. We were out the door before 745. Felt rushed, not an enjoyable dinner.

Yelp
Super fun and solid Italian restaurant in North End. Service was good, food and wine was delicious and we really loved the atmosphere. We were seated upstairs and it was HOT so if that's important to you maybe request downstairs seating.

Yelp
Another evening in the North End.... Lucia Ristorante was "calling to me". Another smaller with incredible food and service. Granted, it was about 4:30pm, before the busy dinner rush, I was seated right away in a cozy booth. I was greeted right away a male server (sorry, I can't remember his name). The decor was on the darker interior for more of romantic feeling. Tonight, I decided to have a soda and the Chicken Parmigiana. The restaurant was able to substitute Alfredo Sauce. Within a few minutes, the meal was delivered. The chicken's coating breading was very crispy and served on Mostaccioli Pasta. The server did check in with me couple of times. The meal was very good. I would recommend this restaurant for the service and food.

Yelp
Brilliant restaurant in Little Italy. Their courtyard seating is fantastic in the summer. Food was lovely and at a better price than along the street. Service could have been better, they were slow to bring utensils and didn't top up our water
