This is an East Village bar, but not for long-time East Villagers. Perhaps tourists or newcomers will enjoy paying 16 bucks plus tip for a drink. I don't like to write negative reviews; I know folks try and that many new bartenders are sharpening their skills. But still: top-shelf G and T should not be made with tonic from the "gun." Lime is a must; so is ice. I'm not a bartender, but I do enjoy a drink after work, and coming from a family of restaurant workers, I respect the staff. I hope Lucinda's becomes a neighborhood bar; there's still time. Until then, there're lots of long time neighborhood joints...and they've also got music. This note is frank and intended as kind feedback. The East Village is an open, welcoming, but discerning neighborhood.
