Lucky's Montecito - Review - Santa Barbara - Santa Barbara - The Infatuation

"Even if you’ve never been to Lucky’s, you’ll feel like you have. This old-school steakhouse in Montecito (there's another location in Malibu) has vested servers, white tablecloths, and framed photos of the greats, like Sinatra and Sammy Davis Jr. An upscale dinner here features the usual classics, done well: wedge salads with a generous amount of crumbled Roquefort, a jumbo-sized shrimp cocktail, and smooth-like-butter filet mignon coated in silky peppercorn sauce. Lucky’s is great for business dinners, birthdays, or getting drunk off one vodka martini (because the bartenders here are not messing around)." - Sylvio Martins

"Lucky's is known for its great American fare, which comes in the form of martinis, oysters, steamed artichokes with vinaigrette, turkey burgers, and of course, the requisite steaks and chops. It has a great old-world Rat Pack vibe and it's perennially packed, meaning it's always a fun night out. The bar is open late."

Lucky’s Malibu Review - Malibu - Los Angeles - The Infatuation

"Located in the Malibu Country Mart, Lucky’s is an upscale steakhouse that originated in the A-Lister commune known as Montecito. Though this location lacks Oprah and Maghan Markle sightings, the crowd milling around the dining room will keep you entertained from start to finish. You’ll spot locals sipping martinis and intentionally placing their hands so everyone can see their jewelry and surfers who didn’t even bother changing out of their board shorts. That said, Lucky’s is more than just a people-watching sideshow—the food is good, too. We recommend doing your best to not to fill up on their excellent table rolls, starting with the shrimp and prosciutto-filled chopped salad, and going for whatever big piece of meat catches your eye." - Brant Cox

Wonderful experience! Celebrated my birthday for dinner and they made it so special! Our server was so kind and treated us so well! Dinner was outstanding and, as you can see, the complimentary dessert was amazing! You won’t be disappointed

Stopped in for drinks late afternoon. Such a fun spot Had dinner and lunch here in the past and loved the food, service was great, and nice atmosphere. Martinis are great too!

Google
Great experience! HIGHLY RECOMMEND. I wish I could give more than 5 stars. Ordered a smoked salmon eggs Benedict. I was very happy with my choice. They served it with peppers on the side which was a perfect add on. This is not a combination I had tried before and now I wish that everywhere did this. The staff were fantastic too. A table near us was rather unkind to their waiter and he maintained his pleasant demeanor throughout the entire meal. Bravo across the board Lucky’s.

Great atmosphere and great food. Dry aged bone in NY strip had the great funky dry aged flavor I love and it was cooked perfectly. The service was good but not great.

Our third visit, this time to celebrate our 36th anniversary, was our best visit yet. It started out rough as we were seated next to the kitchen door. Granted, I could have asked to be moved, but in the end the table was fine. Calamari, a New York, and lamb chops all were well received. In fact, my New York was one of the better steak house offerings I've had in a while. The service team was razor sharp. Not michelin stuffy; call them friendly, light and efficient. The dinning room, despite the sub-prime location of our table, was warm and comfortable. We splurged for our anniversary and enjoyed a premium bordeaux which drove our bill for two close to $400, so Lucky's is not cheap. But it is a special place, and well worth a vist. Note that we spotted a table of at least ten which looked like several families coming together for a meal. I cannot imagine the size of that bill. Welcome to Montecito.

Google
Superb food! Superb Service! Superb atmosphere! If you’re looking for a five star treatment, be sure to ask for the server Amanda. She’s extremely knowledgeable about the food as well as the huge wine selection! The manager Larry was very friendly and patient enough to answer all my questions about the history behind that restaurant. I assure you will definitely have a great time!

Another superb meal. Classic steakhouse! Absolutely fantastic. Best steaks anywhere. Gruyere potatoes are awesome. Onion rings to die for. Martini’s yummy!

Yelp
Dinner for four last night. Been here many times before and always good. No need to be great thought. The folks in Montecito like it as do the tourists so Luckys does very well. So much so the average steak costs $80! Well it is Montecito...there are "some share" steaks at $250. To be fair you can get the daily special for about $50. Meat loaf, chicken, etc in that range. Wine list is excellent with wine prices to match. Look hard and you can find a nice red for about $150. Food: always pretty consistent. We had a flilet, a salmon, meat loaf and a NY steak. The filet was truly excellent. Salmon good, meat loaf good but "heavy" and my NY 3/5 ($85!)--not tender and no I did not send back. Interesting that the steaks came on a plate solo. No garnish, no potatoes etc. you have to buy them as sides. French fries $15. Baked Potato $20 etc. it's not a complaint. I knew the drill before going but still, 4 people about $700 all in. Last. The cocktails are always the best! 5/5. Generous to a fault. I know the martinis had at least 5 oz pours. The other drinks similar. Heck I think the drinks steal the show. Bottom line: still a fun vibe place to go with friends and enjoy a 3 hour meal and catch up:

Yelp
Sergio. Took good care of us. We ordered Escargot. Abalone. Oysters. My friend has been coming to this place for many years and couldn't wait to take me and I have to say that I was highly impressed. It is a great place full of history and you can tell the quality in their dishes. It has like mob vibes. I don't know if I said that politically correctly, but it gives me like Goodfellas vibes like that's a place where you've got your Italian mobsters and the wives coming in it just I don't know there's something magical about it and I love it and I'm not saying that they are affiliated with the mob whatsoever. I'm just saying that that's the vibe I get Like old-school gangsta vibe. I absolutely love it and can't wait to go back!

Yelp
We celebrated our first wedding anniversary at Lucky's in Montecito, and it was an awesome experience. Our server, Caroline, was absolutely amazing--attentive, friendly, and went above and beyond to make our night perfect. We started with the oysters, French onion soup, and Caesar salad, and each dish was delicious. They even split everything onto separate plates and bowls for us, which was such a thoughtful touch. For the main course, we shared the filet with mushrooms and mashed potatoes--every bite was to die for! I would recommend to other diners that we ordered our steak medium rare and it came out more medium, still delicious but just for your information. To top it all off, they surprised us with a sundae that had "Happy Anniversary" written on it, making the evening even more memorable. And I have to mention the dirty martini--it was a 10/10, one of the best I've ever had. Lucky's made our anniversary celebration so special, and we can't wait to come back!

Yelp
Fantastic food we went during lunch. I think my only advice is the server should pay more attention to the water because I did run out of water and I was a little thirsty, but the food was great. The service is great. It is pricey. I got the steak with the fries, which was really good. The steak was prepared. Exactly how I wanted it. It could use a little bit more salt, but it was great steak everything my friends ordered was delicious, everything looked great beautiful setting beautiful vibe. I really enjoyed myself.

Yelp
Lucky's is always on the itinerary when visiting Santa Barbara. The service is impeccable and the food always outstanding. We visited a week before Thanksgiving and sat outside with our two little fur kids. The shrimp cocktail never disappoints. The steaks always delicious.Easy parking on the street or valet .

Yelp
Wagyu Tomahawk Steak 34oz 10/10- a culinary masterpiece. Its marbling was impeccable, ensuring each bite was a tender, buttery melt-in-the-mouth experience. The steak was cooked to perfection, with a beautifully charred exterior and a juicy, medium-rare center that exuded rich, savory flavors. The balance of seasoning highlighted the beef's natural taste without overpowering it. A special this night at Lucky's which was lucky as my family loves tomahawks Crab Cocktail 9.53/10- Served chilled, the generous chunks of sweet, succulent crab meat were the star of the dish. Paired with a zesty cocktail sauce, each bite offered a perfect blend of tangy and savory flavors. Escargot 9.38/10- Each snail was perfectly tender, bathed in a rich, garlicky butter sauce that was indulgent. The subtle earthiness of the escargot paired beautifully with the robust flavors of the herbs and garlic. Served with bread to soak up the luxurious sauce, every bite was a delightful combination of textures and tastes. Truffle Potatoes 9.68/10- served as a perfect complement to the steak and was also a special for this night, this dish was incredible. Perfectly roasted, the potatoes had a crispy exterior and a fluffy, tender interior. The truffle oil infused each bite with a luxurious aroma, complementing the steak's rich flavors. A sprinkle of sea salt and fresh herbs added the perfect finishing touch, enhancing the potatoes' natural taste without overpowering them Bread pudding 8.37/10- The bread pudding was a comforting delight. Each bite revealed a moist, custardy interior with a perfect balance of sweetness and spice. Studded with plump raisins and infused with a hint of cinnamon, the flavors were rich and nostalgic. A drizzle of warm vanilla sauce elevated the dessert, adding a creamy finish. Not a huge fan of bread pudding and unfortunately they ran out of their grand mariner souffle (absolute fav) but this was still divine Mr Lucky cocktail 9.33/10- made with tequila, st Germain, and fresh lime juice. My favorite cocktail here- it is so refreshing. The tequila provided a smooth base while the St Germain added a delicate floral sweetness. Instagram: @hungrytamale

Yelp
So good! We had the crudo, filet mignon with the peppercorn sauce, broccolini, and the sundae for dessert. Cocktails and wine were incredible as well. The service was very good. The vibe was lively/fun, and not stuffy at all like most steakhouses. Lots of couples and groups.

Yelp
I've come for dinner and lunch and both times seen celebrities. It's a little strange and I feel like I enter a different world full of Texas steakhouse vibes and Beverly Hills. Yet, the service is great and the options are exhaustive. The food is ok for the price. Nothing really has stood out to me, but nothing was bad either. Next time, thinking appetizers for the table would be the way to go in lieu of entrees. This is a cool place to bring visitors to the area, but not necessarily a regular stop for local fare. Calamari is pretty yum!

Yelp
Lucky's Steak House in Montecito is a lovely dining experience with a varied menu. I ordered the bone-in filet, that I asked to prepared to be medium (although it was more on the rare side), showcased both tenderness and flavor. The shoestring onion rings added a crispy touch, while the giant shrimp cocktail & hamachi delivered a succulent seafood indulgence. Sides like mushrooms , spinach, and asparagus were well-prepared, and enhanced the overall meal. The ambiance and service contribute to a solid 4/5 rating, making it a recommendable spot for anyone who wants a more upscale meal with very well prepared food.

Yelp
Came on Valentine's Day to enjoy a nice dinner. The bread and butter is to die for. We could not stop indulging with the unlimited carbs. I ordered the Lucky's salad and especially enjoyed the shrimp, avocado and goat cheese. We all had a great conversation and meal; the waiters were quick coming around every time we sipped our waters to fill them back up. We opted out for dessert but got to see some delicious looking ones at the table near us. My friend ordered an entree and the Mac & Cheese... quite cheesy and filling.

Yelp
I have been here twice now and each time was delicious! Nice atmosphere, friendly staff, delicious food

Ronald B.

Yelp
I am not gonna put just 1 star because a lot of things are good about this place. But if I am gonna spend $17 for a Ceasar salad give me a real Ceasar salad or go to Tijuana and learn how to make one. The Ceasar salads used to be good here. Secondly the inconsistency of the steaks. I got the same steak 2 different times about 1 week apart. They were filets and completely different cuts of steak, the second time looked like something that came from Ralph's and I may have to start looking for a new hot spot due to inconsistency with both proportions and quality.

Yelp
I came to Santa Barbara for a business trip, and asked locals what was a great steakhouse. Luckys was named several times so after that I had to try. So glad I did and this now may become my goto stop if I'm in the area. A local moderate steakhouse where locals go and certainly a great place where you can see lots of "drama" given the clientele within the city. For me this is a joy as a tourist because it gives something to talk about with other locals on top of being great food and service. Atmosphere: A moderate steakhouse with a bit of that classic hollywood feel. Definitely has seen it's share of celebrities. As stated above, a lot of locals come out and with it being a very rich town, lots of good stories are to be overheard. For me this was basically dinner and a show since the crowd can get a bit crazy but they are very friendly regardless. It is very entertaining to just watch people let loose, especially if you get just be a fly on the wall and listen/watch Food: Steaks steaks steaks. They have many other options too such as cheesy potatoes and salads. All delicious, but as I said the speciality is steaks. Both my visits I ended up getting a ribeye, marinated in different ways. Perfection, got that right medium rare cook and well seasoned. Simple as that. Service: The staff is a big seller for me. Both times I've went all the bartenders were very busy but great to talk to since they're also witnessing the drama happening. Mike in particular I remember, being very gracious to me while other patrons put on a show. Again so besides being an amazing steak house, this really gave me the feel of the local town spot where the community gathers and lets loose. I certainly will try to come back to hear what stories are to be heard/made.

Yelp
I don't usually write reviews, but I feel compelled to share my experience here. The service was absolutely HORRIBLE. My party and I were the only brown group in the entire restaurant, and we couldn't help but notice the blatant difference in how we were treated compared to other guests. It was as if we didn't belong there. From the lack of attention to the delayed service, it felt incredibly uncomfortable and, frankly, racist. We were ignored, made to wait way longer than necessary, and the staff seemed uninterested in providing us any level of service. And to top it all off, the steak was beyond disgusting. I don't know how they managed to ruin something so basic, but it tasted like actual dog crap on a plate. It was inedible. Not only was it poorly cooked, but the flavor was so off, it was almost unbearable to chew. We paid a lot of money for an experience that was not only disappointing but outright disrespectful. This place has no place in today's world if they treat people like this. I won't be returning, and I strongly suggest others avoid it as well. If I could give 0 stars, I would.

Yelp
Driving up to Santa Barbara on a Sunday morning and wanted to stop for brunch. Who chooses a steakhouse for a brunch??? It had been recommended to us and turned out to be a great choice. We got a table on one of their outdoor patios in front of the restaurant. Chelsea, our server, came by immediately, very warm and welcoming, to get our drink orders. I ordered the Denver Omelet ($22) off the brunch special menu. Comes with a choice of beverages. I went with the freshly squeezed OJ. My wife went with the mushroom Gruyère omelet ($22). Both omelets were delish. They found out we were celebrating an anniversary so they brought out a complimentary ice cream Sundae. YUMMM! Lovely ambiance, good service, and good food at fair prices.

Yelp
Absolutely worth the visit! We dined in for dinner and loved our experience. Our server left us alone for most of our time (which we actually prefer but I can see some people thinking there was a lack of service) and the food was amazing. Since it was our first time we shared all of our plates. A few stand out sides id recommend are the onion rings (half order is more than enough for two people!) and the seasonal snow peas! We look forward to dining here again

Yelp
Broccolini with Garlic and Chilis 【烤甜柑西兰花】 偏脆口的熟度,蔬菜自带的甘甜非常突出,依旧保持了清淡的调味,若隐若现的辣和偶尔吃到的烤辣椒籽很加分,让整体无聊的搭配多了一点小惊喜 Lemon Drop 【柠檬糖鸡尾酒】 冰块撞击雪克壶的声音逐渐靠近,注意力一下就被吸引,随之而来的是一支杯口沾满砂糖的扇形高脚杯。服务员在桌边甩着雪克壶,酒液快速填满杯子,分量是真大!表现很好的经典款鸡尾酒,酸甜平衡,顺口的同时保持了浓郁的酒香

Yelp
I came here for my last birthday and had a tragic experience, no fault of the server/service - that part was actually good. Just a real let down/bummer from the cooks :( I ordered a medium rare steak with a toothpick placed in my order to confirm it "rare", it proceeded to me extremely blackened/burnt... well well done, no red or blood at all. As much as I didn't want to I brought it up with the waiter and he took it back without even asking because of how bad it was and how badly he felt (even though it really wasn't his fault). The next steak they brought out was somehow worse... it was so chewy, red, and bloody that I could not even chew/digest it. Neither could it be finished and after I cut into it I think the server again noticed the issue so he tried to make up for it on our tab instead. It also took a really long time for the second plate to even get back to us, group was done with their dishes by that time... Again, he compensated us on the bill for the occasion, delay, and unfortunateness but was just a real let down - used to hear great things about this place. Plus, my favorite food is steak ... but think my experience was just too downhill to ever want to return to be honest :((

Yelp
Our date night for our anniversary was amazing and we had great attention from the management to make the night special. We appreciate their responsiveness to issues that made the night great. Thank you

Yelp
My boyfriend and I had a date night here last night and the service was phenomenal. We were an hour late for our reservation due to traffic, but they seated us right away. We shared the abalone and smoked salmon apps. The abalone is to die for, my mouth is watering just thinking about it. He ordered the bone-in filet medium rare and said it was incredible. I ordered the SB chilled crab, but didn't realize I would have to crack it and I didn't feel the amount of meat was worth the price. I also ordered Brussels sprouts for us to share. I should've asked how they were cooked, because I was expecting crispy with Basalmic for example, but they were served plain and I think they were steamed. Overall, we had a wonderful experience. I strongly recommend making a reservation and visiting this establishment. Thank you!

Yelp
Really well done all around. Steaks of course are great but all the apps, drinks, and desserts were great

Yelp
I did not enjoy our Christmas Eve brunch here. For one, it was my Birthday which my husband told our waitress no less than three times before it registered. Two, the bloody mary I ordered spicy with extra olives came mild with one olive. Three, the non meat items were sparse and not thoughtfully created. Four, my eggs Benedict, Ca style, had raw, not even seared thick non ripe tomato and raw spinach. Also it was early and they were super slow still. There was one waiter, a fellow, who swooped in and made it a reasonably nice experience, but the waitress, forget about it, and the food was blah at best.

Yelp
Montecito is one of my all-time favorite towns in the whole country so the scenery is unbeatable, and the food quality and taste is great, as well as the ambience inside, but service and pricing is definitely a 3-4/5. This is coming from someone who lives in Los Angeles and is used to overpaying for meals. $99 for a 12 ounce filet mignon is just really unreasonable. $78 for sole is also really unfair in a seafood town. I have been to their Malibu location as well, and it looks very similar in design and clientele but again the strange pricing remains. As mentioned it's located in a quieter part of town with no dedicated parking lot but there is ample street parking that is free surrounding the entire restaurant. It's quite small on the inside so it fills up quick and has a very classic Hollywood look to it. Filled of pictures of famous people and local scenery all around the walls. It feels like you're in a boutique hotel lobby versus a restaurant. Our server was very polite, but extremely slow in terms of checking in on us and bringing refills. As mentioned, the food quality is good, but the pricing is just insane. Because of this, I adjusted what I usually order. I started off with the tomato and sweet onions starter and it was great, but literally one tomato for $16. One tomato! Next we shared the Lucky's Chili, which I've had before, and love every time. The meat chunks in there is what makes it great. Again though for $22 this is extremely expensive chili. For my entrée I chose the 10 ounce filet mignon for $84, which was cooked perfectly and tasted great, just way overpriced. We got the skinny onion rings as a side and those were really good and I definitely would recommend anyone ordering them. Finally, we topped off our meal with my favorite dessert: a soufflé. It was a bit mushy and not the best one that I've had, even not the best I had on this weekend trip to Santa Barbara. I would not recommend it. Overall a pretty nice meal, but very overpriced and our dessert really was not as great as I'd hoped. I would recommend to some people, but to most I feel that it is way overpriced for what you get in return. This part of town does not have many options in terms of dining so I am sure it will remain popular, just hope they adjust their wild pricing.

Yelp
We came here to celebrate our first anniversary and it was a total disappointment regarding the service. We had an early reservation and we were seated right next to the hostess when there were open tables all over the place. Our anniversary was never once acknowledged when it was in the notes. Cocktails: Blueberry Patch - $19 & Old Fashioned - $18 - The Blueberry Patch tasted like pure alcohol. On one hand, you felt like you received your money's worth but it was awful tasting. Appetizer: Fried Calamari - $26 - Very average tasting. Entree: New York Steak with Roquefort - $93 - My husband enjoyed it. The roquefort is so flavor-forward that the taste lingers in your mouth for a long time. Lucky Salad ($25) added Salmon ($42) - This was incredibly underwhelming for the price. Sides: Creamed Spinach - $16 Mashed Potato - $15

Yelp
Went for my birthday dinner. The burger here is amazing, most gourmet burger you can imagine. Salad was ok, for $19 salad with no meat, I'd expect a little more pop. Soufflé was not their forte, very eggy. The pork bbq is massive so it is enough to share between a table. I think you just have to chose wisely on the menu ;) Ambience is quaint and intimate.

Yelp
We had a wonderful dinner at this establishment. The atmosphere was perfect for conversation and enjoyable dining. We decided to share all of our food choices, family style, so we indulged in the filet mignon stroganoff, salmon, and au gratin potatoes with truffle sauce. We enjoyed dirty and espresso martinis followed up with some tasty glasses of Châteauneuf-du-Pape! Will be back here the next time we're in the area!

Yelp
We had a terrible experience at Lucky's last night in Montecito. We were looking forward to a nice dinner out, but we ended up with a stressful and underwhelming experience mostly due to our waiter. He was extremely unwelcoming from the start and I've never been so pressured to order that fast in my life. We hadn't even had a chance to look at the menu so we just ordered our drinks. The drinks came and he pressured us again to order so we quickly chose an appetizer. He seemed very put out we had not yet chosen our entree. Mind you, we haven't even had a sip of our drinks yet! Before the appetizer came, he was back again, pressuring us to order. I finally said "we are trying to decide. I understand the pressures of having to turn the table, but we haven't even been here 15 minutes." He mumbled something about "that's not it" and walked away... only to come back again in 2 minutes with the same stern "you better order now" look on his face. It got to the point where I was visibly stressed out, scanning the menu to try to quickly pick something. They have a large menu plus a full page of specials. I ended up just choosing anything so he would go away. On a positive note, the food was very good, though we felt we didn't really have time to enjoy it. Particularly the pepper steak and the hamachi crudo. Also the rest of the staff (servers, bus boys) were all lovely and kind. Our waiter needed to learn more from them. I'm getting mad while I write this. I don't ever want to be made to feel like that at a restaurant again. Especially when spending that kind of money for dinner. What an absolute waste.

Yelp
This was a "not planning on dinner on the expense budget" kind of place, with lunch closing in on $60 without liquor. Downtown montecito the restaurant was cute and awesome. I sat in a nice shaded area. There is a sidewalk then a bit of a outdoor area (post covid used to be parking spots). Overall it was cute and perfect temperature (as normal here) We started with nice awesome bread. The bread was as good as bread as I've had in recent history. Crusty on the outside, warm soft inside. The tea was amazing (which was unsweetened). It was yummy, and I am very mixed on tea. . .but this was perfect. I started with a mushroom bisque, which was not appealing looking (grey) but it was amazing tasting. A great cup to start. The open steak sandwich (they allowed a mix of onion rings and fries) was a great lunch item. The steak was nice, slightly charred on outside but mine (which was medium) was a little more cooked than I expected (but maybe my fault?) The service was also amazing, which I would hope from the place of this caliber. All in all, I recommend it.

Yelp
Attitude Entitlement Salt level in food I will not go again god bless. Who needs the aggravation to sit there and list what's wrong with the restaurant, most people just want to get out politely and forget about it and never go again.

Yelp
They have several places with similar menus. The food is good, not stellar but worth a repeat visit. Everyone liked it

Yelp
This place is very overrated. The steak is horrible and the mashed potatoes were gooey. The salads were okay, but definitely much to improve. Service was great, no problem there. The ambiance is awful. Inside is like a diner and outside you're by the sidewalk and it's just so busy. Wouldn't go there for a special occasion.

Yelp
Delicious! I ordered the brioche French toast and a the blueberry cocktail. Our host and waiter were great. Our food came very quickly. We ate under the tent, which was nice and quiet with a great light breeze. We would easily eat there again.

Yelp
This spot sure is an experience! The lighting and fire place was giving a old Hollywood movie ambiance. I came for a birthday dinner and our reservation was at 9:15pm. The group ordered drinks at the bar while our table was getting ready. Their drinks are known for their heavy pours. We were tucked into the corner by the wines. It was cozy as we were a group of 6 ladies. We ordered apps and our entrees. Our server was great, he talked us through the menu options and recommendations. I shared the Baby Back ribs with my sister because we both wanted ribs and the server informed us that it was their largest order. This is certainly a restaurant where you splurge. Over all we ate and drank good that evening.

Yelp
Best steak house in town! I love Lucky's, it's so good and Sergio is the best bartender! Filet mignon for the win!

Yelp
Great spot for celebrating graduation. All the food was delicious, service was fairly good. Great vibe friendly staff. Super expensive but that is Lucky's. For a special occasion that's the place. Shrimp cocktail and chopped salad rocked as well.

Yelp
The ambience is really nice! The service was eh, our server was kind of rude, which is not something I expect for a nice restaurant but we did come in at the end of the night. But the steak that my boyfriend ordered was terrible. The pepper New York steak was completely covered in peppercorns. Like completely. Even after scraping them off, the taste was just unbearable. He couldn't even finish half of it. I got the vegetarian burger, which I didn't have high hopes for so I wasn't really let down. It was okay. Afterwards my boyfriend's stomach hurt really bad too. I would expect better steak from a steakhouse and from an $80 steak. If you want good warm bread and a nice ambiance then come here. But don't go for the steak.

Yelp
My doctor said "red meat every two weeks, cut back on carbs, cut back on alcohol". Guess what? It worked. I'm BMI "normal". But it makes me anxious when I'm due for a steak. Lucky's is where I'm happy to go for my two week fix. Gigantic martini, excellent chopped salad, porterhouse for two (perfectly lightly salted and exactly medium rare), glass of wine, nice sautéed spinach, split a fruit crumble and ice cream dessert. Uber home. Seriously. I think their martini glass holds about a quart of loudmouth juice. Decor, service all best of class. It's expensive. Really expensive. But still a great value. See you in two weeks.

Yelp
The service was outstanding and ambiance and dining experience also equally amazing! Having walked around downtown Santa Barbara all day we could not wait for our reservations here for dinner as we were referred to dine here by a few of our friends that had frequented the Santa Barbara area. We each ordered appetizers and perfectly cooked steaks. I think the only thing I would have wanted a little more salt on the steak to enhance it. Even the spicy garlic butter wasn't enough. Perhaps a sauce for the steak next time? A side for each and a generously poured glass of wine and mixed drink. Let me tell you, I wish there was more than two of us so we could try all the things!-especially all the potatoes! We look forward to coming back here for dinner next time we are in the Santa Barbara/ Montecito area for a great dinner with equally awesome service.

Yelp
I have been looking for a new writing hangout, I used to adore the Four Seasons. Ive now tried Lucky's in Montecito, for brunch. As Im alone I really dont mind being stuck in the dark inside corner, but someone else might. The service does not match the prices. An 18 dollar bowl of gazpacho that was inedible to me, and a Greek Salad. Prepared thoughtfully, bit no red onion, no pepper, no ground pepper. Just Romaine lettuce, one tomato, and extremely tart feta. A bread basket with two slim pieces if warm sourdough bread made it palatable , but not the sweet rolls they offered. A complimentary Bellini came with it, but it wasn't fresh white peach juice and good champagne, it was something else that frankly I couldn't finish. I tried to order another cocktail but they left me alone in the corner for ten minutes , so I guess not. Maybe try later but quite disappointing.

Yelp
My dad took me and my fiancé here for a celebration of recent accomplishments. I was ambiguous about coming since I'm not a steak person and don't typically like steak house atmospheres, however it ended up being the best night with such quality food. This place helped create a special memory for me, and now I have an appreciation and soft spot for Lucky's. I would expect that to be the biggest compliment to a business owner: that their restaurant created an environment for memories to me made. That's Lucky's! My fiancé and dad had the best steaks of their lives. I devoured the sweet potato fries they were so good. As were the regular fries. My dad doesn't enjoy fries but he loved these ones. The ribs were so freaking good I wish my stomach could have been bigger to eat more. I thought I was only going to get a short stack too since that tends to be what pricey places do, but NO, I got two huge racks!!! I have food for the week. I came in with high expectations since they charge a pretty penny, and I left feeling it was well worth it. They live up to the expectations that come with those prices.

Yelp
Absolute best service, and the steaks are so good too. We were surprised to see escargot on the menu, we were feeling adventurous & loved it! We went here for my fiancés birthday, yelp has it rated $$$$ and I'd agree it's definitely a special occasion spot. We definitely will be back :)

Yelp
The BEST restaurant in the Montecito/Santa Barbara area! I learned the hard way that the next time I am in the vicinity, I need to only patronage this restaurant for breakfast, lunch, dinner and dessert. On the days that breakfast isn't served at this restaurant and I am staying in the Montecito/Santa Barbara area, I will starve until they open for lunch/dinner. I just had another delicious dinner at Lucky's again, and they didn't disappoint like most restaurants in the area. All the restaurants in the area don't hold a candle to this exquisite restaurant! My expectations have been exceeded! I will be back on my next trip. The service is phenomenal!

Yelp
You must experience Lucky's when you are in Santa Barbara. Have been coming here for years & it never disappoints. Great food, phenomenal service (our waitress this weekend has been there since opening) & the ambiance is money. Start with a Manhattan (rye). Best ever. Lucky's salad next. Everyone had steak this visit. All perfectly cooked & delish. I love blue cheese crumbles & red wine sauce on mine. 3 sides hash browns, creamed corn & mushrooms paired perfectly. We also brought some of our own wine, that was happily decanted. This place is the best!
