Google
Definitely traditional Chinese restaurant with all the plates stacked on the table in the front. I went here for the duck, but they ran out before I got there and they pushed the chicken at me which was a bit Asian of them to do. Food was delish and seems to be Canto style. Definitely worth trying out.

Food was delicious with reasonable pricing. The staff was great with helping to pick which options were better. Had BBQ duck, BBQ pork, Crispy Roast Pork, Water Spinach, Clam in Black Bean Sauce, Peking Style BBQ Pork Chop, Salted Fish & Tofu & Chicken Hotpot, and Stir Fried Rice Noodle Cantonese Style. Everything was delicious and the portion size was big. The service was good and the waitress was quick to provide us with water and take out order. I would definitely come back with friends and family and order food to go as well. Update: Came back with more family who haven't tried Lucky City before. The food didn't disappoint! Everything was delicious and once again the quantity was great for the asking price! Got: Spicy Fried Squid, Lemongrass Pork Chop, Combination Tofu Hotpot, Clam in Ginger Sauce, and Beef with Mushroom, Snow Pea, and Bamboo Shoot. We all left super full and satisfied, went home and fell into a food coma 🤤 Definitely recommend anyone to come here for great, yummy food.

Google
We are at Lucky City Chinese Restaurant today for lunch based upon a recommendation from a Facebook group. It was delicious! We had the Dinner for 3 menu. Soup- Chinese beef soup. Entrees: Sweet and sour chicken, BBQ pork + marinated chicken, and Fish and tofu hot pot. All served with steamed rice for around $38. We were pleasantly surprised by how tasty everything was. All the dishes coming out of the kitchen looked very fresh and tasty. I asked how much the Hong Kong Crab fried rice was and they said it was $70 so we will have to come back a different time to try it. Overall, I definitely want to come back!

Google
First time here! We were the 3rd table at the time, service is slow, ordered 2 dishes, the BBQ combo and seafood hotpot. Waited almost 30mins for the BBQ dish, should have came out first! Than the seafood dish was not worth it! Had a lot of fake crab, 2 little scallops, 6 shrimp and a lot if cabbage. They were more concerned about the take out food than the customers waiting! Funny how when it started to get busy, the food started to come out quicker! Maybe we should have ordered 2 go!

Had been Lucky City's regulars over the years. Glad that they survived the pandemic. Would love to see them resume dine in service instead of their now only takeout business model. Our favourite was roasted duck. Got there at 1 pm, bigger chance to get the right-out-of-oven crispy skin roasted ducks, yummy! Staffs were always friendly, service quick. Will recommend.

Google
Super delicious and great value for money! The bbq pork and chicken dish is very delicious, spicy pork chop and stir fry bean are also delicious. If you want to find a cantonese or Chinese food, you should definitely try it.

Amazing food and huge portions!!

Google
The best. My favorite favorite place in dfw for chinese bbq. Fresh fresh so fresh. Been going here at least 10 years and always consistent. Wonton soup is favorite 👏. Crab fried rice was a delicacy. Stir fried noodles/vermicelli is amazing. All portions are super. Very very good cost price performance.

Yelp
Family of 7 outing and we decided to dine here on a weeknight. Upon entering we were seated pretty quick and order hot jasmine tea and family meal. It's a prefixed menu and it comes with soup, pork and chicken dishes, tofu, Peking duck with bun, stir fry veggies and mushrooms. The portion size is okay. The seasoning is good. I can't say it's the best Chinese food I've had especially when my hometown is NJ and I've dined in NY/NJ with many local mom pop good eats. However, given I'm on vacation, the food here is fine. The atmosphere here for sure is no difference than NY/NJ with people chatting, employees yelling at the chefs and servers and with occasional background noise of some clashing sound in the kitchen.

Yelp
We went to eat late lunch here yesterday. We ordered Crispy Fried Chicken and Seafood Pan Fried Noodle and Chicken Corn Soup. The crispy chicken is delicious, so as their seafood pan fried noodles and the corn. Serving portions are good for two people. Not a busy place. Clean and well lighted. Service Staff are friendly and helpful.

Dan L.

Yelp
Love this place! Especially since Sun Lok Kee closed down, we need to support local authentic cantonese restaurant stern sure they stay open. Favorite dishes were Spicy pork chop, bbq pork and eggplant. Beef and broccoli was very slightly ovecooked and the fish tofu was hit and miss. Service was pretty typical. This place is popular so it's a pretty lively restaurant! Check it out!

Yelp
Great place for Cantonese Chinese food especially if you are eating with a lot of people. Love the bbq meats! Wonderful meal to celebrate Lunar New Year

Andrew L.

Yelp
We came here with our extended family and they suggested to dine here as this was one of the few Chinese restaurants in the area. There were plenty of parking since its located in a strip mall right off of Coit road. We ordered the family style eight course meal. I will try to list the dishes as much a I could remember. We had the seafood vegetable soup, roasted duck in bao buns, bok choy stir fry, chicken mushroom stir fry, chicken with garlic sauce, pork and vegetable stir fry, and fried calamari. I think I am missing a dish, but nothing really stood out except the pork dish. All the dishes tasted fine and nothing I could say wow. Overall, good place if you are in the craving for some good old Chinese place. It really tastes like Chinese take out not gourmet at all.

Steve B.

Yelp
Great place to get Chinese food. I especially love the bbq pork. So far I've had the Happy Family, bbq pork, roasted duck, and chicken lo mein. and I can recommend each one of them definitely a place. I will frequent often.

Leonard L.

Yelp
My family and I came here for some Cantonese Chinese food. We have not had any for a while so coming here brought back memories and the ambiance of the Bay Area in California. The food was delicious, especially the Beef Chow Fun and the Roasted Duck. The service was good and our server was kind. The Crispy Noodle with Chicken was good was well. We do place to come again!

Angeline L.

Yelp
The food was great! Love the roast pork, roast duck and crispy noodle. Big portion! Service was good.

Izzy T.

Yelp
This is a Cantonese food. Their Char Siew is moist and like butter when you get your first bite. Their double noodle is delicious and wonton noodle soup is also out of this world. Like being in HongKong.

Kevin C.

Yelp
The environment is a dark but the staff was very attentive. You can easily see the counter where they have the BBQ display (roast duck, roast pork, and other items). I ordered take out via through the phone. Order was ready when I arrived. I took advantage of the special of 3 entrees and 1 soup deal for under $40. This deal was enough to easily feed a family of 3-4 with left overs. The food portion was generous and great flavor. The food is more of a family/home cooking feeling. It definitely is worthy if you're looking for a great take out for a bargain. The issue I encountered was the slow, really slow, credit card system. It was so slow to process my transaction that I opted to pay cash so I don't hold up others customers. Hope they take care of this soon. Leaving 1 star out because I will come back to review to see after second visit to see if the quality consistency is there. Give it a try as it's definitely a great bargain for the generous serving portion.

Yelp
Favorite place for roasted duck takes thirty minutes because it is fresh with all fixings. Great real Chinese food.

Gilbert C.

Yelp
Gotten takeout food from here a few times now and I already consider this my favorite Chinese food spot. Not really Szechuan style but the typical stuff you find in Bay Area, CA type restaurants. I don't know if there is another place offering roast pork in the area either. All 12+ different dishes I've tried have been great and fresh. The duck didn't have a bunch of grease in the box or anything....just very neat. The cuts they gave were very nice. Many of their entree dishes come with a side of steamed rice. Not all places include this. This isn't just my opinion either. My niece absolutely loves this place. We haven't had a negative opinion on any of their dishes. The English translation for dishes on their menu can be a bit peculiar though. The green beans/string beans are called round beans (with pork). Lo Mein is called Soft Noodle. Now one downside to this place though is that the wait for pickup can be a little long. They usually say 30 minutes and that's usually accurate. 30-40 minutes maybe. If it's the weekend, the phone can be busy for a while before you get through. Expect an hour wait or more when they first open on the weekends. I just love this place so much. This was the food I grew up eating and the quality is very high.

Yelp
Our favorite Cantonese Chinese foods in the DFW area! Friendly staff and super nice owner (Annie)

Elly T.

Yelp
I ordered takeout for 8 people and was told it would be ready in 30 minutes. when I got there I was told a few more minutes. 30 minutes later I still was waiting and the food containers were sitting on a table ready to be bagged, getting cold. The wait staff kept walking by it doing nothing serving the not full restaurant and a couple of other takeout orders. Of course they already had requested payment. when they finally handed me the bags to go, it had been well over an hour since I called it in which would have been fine if that's what they had initially told me. To make matters worse, when I got home I found they had gotten part of the order wrong, it all was cold and everything had to be reheated which did nothing to improve the taste. Definitely would never order from or eat here again.

Mr. M.

Yelp
Their duck is amazing as well as a few other dishes but overall it is not the best Chinese food. Plano used to have amazing Cantonese food but it seems to be a dying breed as the Chinese community becomes more diverse. Which is a shame because Cantonese food is my favorite sub genre of Chinese food.

C K.

Yelp
My family and I went there last night for dinner. We had their set dinner good for 3 people. We got the tofu with fish in hot pot, stir fry eggplants and stir fry beef with wide noodles (I don't know the proper name , I am just giving the dish a discription ) in addition to the dishes, it came with soup and plenty of rice. All the dishes were flavorful, hot and delectable. The servers were attentive. We were not only happy with the taste of the food but we were even more happy with the price of the food. It is so reasonable!

Cindy T.

Yelp
Happened to be in the area and decided to place an order to go. They are not open for dine in, to go orders only. Easy to order, waited about 30 minutes. This place had a steady flow of to go pick up. Ordered crab rangoons, eggrolls, BBQ pork and roast duck, shrimp wonton noodle soup, fried pork chops, house seafood crispy noodles, and beef flat noodles. OMG. Everything was delicious!!! Server was super nice. Gave me a menu and recommended I call in order next time so I don't have to wait. Told her I didn't mind since I happened to be in the area. Will definitely come back and try more things. Great fresh food!!!

Judy L.

Yelp
I ordered over the phone and went to pick up the food. The place looked like a standard Chinese restaurant, nothing super fancy but decorated nice enough. Service was fine. The lady that helped me was friendly and nice. The food was okay. I ordered the 3 dishes and a soup deal- a little over $42 including tax, cheap compared to other Chinese restaurants I've been to.. The westlake beef soup was bland compared to others I've tried. Out of the three things I ordered, the fish fillet tofu pot was the tastiest. My picky girls enjoyed the fish. The other two dishes were okay, different from what I am used to, probably should have picked other dishes. It did come with a lot of rice so that was great except the rice was too hard for my taste.

Yelp
Lucky city I've been coming here for over 5 years and the food is always tasty. They have a dinner and lunch special. The food they serve is mostly Cantonese dishes and other popular dishes from all over China. Another place that is just like Lucky City is Sun Lok Kee and I've been going their for about 5 years. They have the same exact specials and dessert at one time. It's like they both are identical; It's like they copied their menus with each other. Going to these restaurants Lucky City is better because it's taste more fresh. The service and ambiance is ok. Your at a Chinese restaurant so the service is not that good something Authentic Chinese restaurants have in common. The food at Luck city is pretty good, everything is tender and has a pretty good taste. The things I recommend getting are the chicken and cha siu combo, walnut shrimp, beef crispy noodle, beef flat noodle, spicy pork chop, broccoli beef, Fish and tofu hot pot, and scallion beef. Overall this place is one of the best a authentic Chinese restaurants in Dallas. For other Cantonese family style restaurants in Dallas their is Pearl in Arlington, First Chinese BBQ Plano, A1, Sun Lok Kee Plano, Golden BBQ in Arlington and Garden restaurant in Garland . After going to all these restaurants I think Luck City is one of my top 3 restaurants next to First Chinese BBQ and Golden on my list for Authentic Chinese food.

Angela B.

Yelp
We have been going to this restaurant for many years, it's a great choice for a night off from cooking. They have pretty decent food, portions are great and prices are fair. I miss the dine in part with the free dessert soup at the end, hope they open up for dinning soon. They have gone up in price lately, so heads up on that.

Dillon L.

Yelp
A staple in my Chinese food diet. Lucky City has all the classic Chinese BBQ dishes from beef flat noodle, obviously the BBQ roast pork/duck and chicken, wonton soup, etc. My family literally comes at least once a week. They hit the sweet point for taste and value with generous portions that don't break the bank (great for penny pinching Chinese folk). My favorite dish is the fried pork chop with pineapple sauce, mmm. Even with the various competing restaurants in the area we find ourselves always coming back here. If you try to come for lunch then know that even though they open at 11am, their BBQ generally isn't ready until 11:30 or later.

Marianne C.

Yelp
Although I've only gotten food here to-go I'm confident on giving them 4 stars. I had a hankering for roast pork and/or duck and luckily they have this combo but not listed on the menu. Just let them know you want it over rice so they don't give you a whole duck and a pound of roast pork. It was great, satisfying and very Cantonese. My order is good for lunch and dinner, plenty left over to satisfying the follow up craving of wanting some more. Would definitely check out next time with the whole family for a full dining experience.

Lisa O.

Yelp
Our family is thrilled that they have reopened for take out, curbside pick up. Call to order an hour ahead for dinner. Hearty portions were packed carefully to travel well in the car on the way. Some of our favorites pictured top to bottom- Chinese seasonal greens with garlic, beef flat noodles, crispy fried pork chops, spicy tofu, and orange chicken with two containers of white rice. We had plenty of leftovers for lunch the next day too. A good value for a family dinner. We highly recommend them.

Claire W.

Yelp
This is my go-to Chinese restaurant for takeout. My favorite dishes are: - bbq pork and duck - walnut shrimp - eggplant The beef flat noodle is tasty as well - I ordered the dry (vs. wet) version. I love the bbq pork here because it's well flavored and cut into thick slices. One time they subbed the bbq pork/duck combo dish with roast pork without telling me - I wasn't happy about that esp because I didn't like the roast pork. My guess is the language barrier prevented them from communicating this. After all, there was confusion on the phone when I asked them what the difference was between the dry and wet beef noodle. Despite this I will still go back. The food is usually ready in 15-20 minutes. Free parking outside.

Florence P.

Yelp
Great authentic Chinese food!! We ordered their beef chow fun and it was delicious. Service was prompt and friendly. Highly recommend!

Patty W.

Yelp
this place is around the corner from where i live and they serve peking duck ...what?! ...sadly that's as exciting as it gets. everything else is just meh. the duck came out and is presented beautifully, but it's warm - not hot - and therefore the skin isn't super crispy. flavor is good though. we ordered a bunch of dishes ...soup, stir fry, fried ...and everything was warm...the only thing that was hot was the tofu hotpot, and that's because it's served on a flame at the table. most of the dishes i felt were oversalted. also, not a fan of how they roll the dirty dish cart to the table to collect dirty plates at the end of the meal. :/ #fattypatty not impressed

Madison O.

Yelp
The chef from First Chinese BBQ moved to Lucky City which makes this a must go for authentic Chinese food. They have a dinner deal that easily serves four people for about $30. The menu is is Chinese and English but everything is amazing here! The orange chicken and spicy pork are a MUST HAVE.

Mingnyu L.

Yelp
Me and friend went there for dinner, we ordered two dishes, bitter melon fry beef and seafood pot. Bitter melon dish turn so gluey, I asked plz don't make other dish as gluey, she: already cooked. And it also very salty n gluey. Waitress gave me hot water to Raines food out of gluey. No service, food is terrible. Never here again!!!

Yu-kwong C.

Yelp
Whenever we think about going out for Chinese food, this restaurant comes into our mind. It's typical Chinese Hong Kong style cuisine. Our family has been to this place many times. All the dishes we have tried are very good. The variety of dishes they offer can be intimidating if you're not familiar with Chinese or specifically Cantonese food. But most of them are good, so you won't go wrong. This time, we ordered a set meal, which means, for a fixed price, you get to pick a number of dishes + a soup. We picked salted fish and tofu, fried beef and Chinese broccoli; fried chicken, and the beef soup. The chicken was nicely fried. The meat we could tell was seasoned well before it was cooked. The best part actually is the crispy skin. The crispiness almost determines the quality of this dish. They did a good job on this. The beef and Chinese broccoli was decent. The beef was well seasoned, tender, and tasty. The broccoli was nice and green. As to the salted fish and tofu, the taste of the salted fish was there, but we didn't find any visible pieces of salted fish anywhere. They may have been minced and mixed with the tofu. Salted fish is very common in Hong Kong, but mixing with tofu is not that common. It usually goes with pork. If this dish is done skillfully, the aroma is awesome. As to the soup, it was quite disappointing. This soup (called "West Lake beef soup" in Chinese) is quite common, and each restaurant does it differently. But the two major ingredients are ground (or minced) beef and cilantro. If it's done right, it looks very eye appealing. The green cilantro and light brown ground beef flow on top of the white soup. However, I didn't see any of these two guys in the soup. It was still quite delicious. But I felt like it was not authentic enough. To wrap up the meal, they gave us a complimentary dessert, which was sweet tapioca soup. It was creamy and smooth. Very yummy! Another good thing about this place is the portion, which is much more generous than most Chinese restaurants offer. This is very characteristic of Chinese cooking or hospitality. You want your guests to leave your house full, very full. So they wouldn't complain. As I said the variety is so good, I'm sure I'll come back again and again.

Hoa L.

Yelp
Came on a Sunday night. Was somewhat busy so there was a 5-10 minute wait. Had a larger table about 7 people. Ate Chinese BBQ, noodles, seafood hot pot, and other items. The duck was good, not too fatty and the Cha Sui was ok. A little not soft enough. Customer service was average, we didn't order right away so it took a bit longer to get our order in. Floor was rather dirty with water and trash, but the waitress gave us a towel that she tossed on the floor to wipe the water. It was so busy that I doubt customer service would be high on priority. The food itself was good. Prices about $10-15. I'll come back, but I might go on a less busy day.

Eddie C.

Yelp
Look out First Chinese BBQ, you have some competition. Met up with my Yelp buddy here, and was very impressed with the food. We ordered BBQ Pork, chicken flat noodle, and waitress also brought us out a bowl of corn soup for no charge. Each entrée was delicious and in typical Chinese BBQ fasion, plentiful. The pork had lots of flavor and was drizzled in honey. The flat noodles had the appropriate texture, and you could tell it was fresh. Nothing fancy about this place, but they keep it simple, and do it right. The service here was good and the value cannot be beat. I now have a new favorite place to get some Chinese BBQ, and will definitely be putting this in my lunch rotation. Solid all around.

Marie T.

Yelp
No dine-in during the pandemic, but luckily takeout was an option. We made the order at the restaurant and waited for about 15 minutes until pick up was ready. We ordered combination pan fried noodles, salt and pepper fish, and honey walnut shrimp. All were good and pretty standard. I think a highlight of this spot is the pricing, which is very reasonable. Other dishes I hope to try are the hot pot fish with fried tofu, eggplant, and black bean clams, which were all recommended to me for next time. Overall, a solid spot for Chinese takeout in central Plano.

Jacob P.

Yelp
Summary: service was fine, but food was served rather cold, and the duck was basically inedible I got the BBQ pork and roast duck over rice. Everything tasted fine, but it came out lukewarm and was cold halfway through the meal. In addition, all 5 pieces of duck that I got were basically inedible - all bone, fat, and gristle. I think I got about 1 decent mouthful of duck meat out of the whole meal. The BBQ pork and the *skin* of the duck tasted good, but that wasn't even remotely enough to make up for the other problems. Also, I do not know how this place is marked as "having a great tea selection." I asked for green tea and they said the only tea they served was jasmine (which was good, incidentally. But they definitely don't have a large selection.) I will definitely not be back.

David T.

Yelp
Great food. BBQ Pork is the best! Their OrangeChicken is exceptional. Prices are good, along with very generous portions.

Jacqueline L.

Yelp
I have been coming here frequently with my family because it's good food for a great price. I've never had to wait for a table even on their busiest days and they are packed. We typically get one of their specials: pick 4 dishes plus soup for I think $35 (may be wrong about the exact price but it's definitely less than $40). We typically get the green beans with pork, spicy pork chops, beef flat noodles, fish fillet with tofu hotpot and the sweet corn soup. These are fairly large portions so we always have leftovers to take home. The sweet corn soup is delicious! It's like egg drop soup but with corn in it. Their beef flat noodles are also really good! I only get it here or first Chinese bbq in Richardson. After every meal, they serve a dessert. It's sweet taro with small tapioca and is always delicious and a great way to end our meal.

Susan D.

Yelp
Every time we order the roast pork , the skin is never crispy and seem to be days old. The only dish we like here is the Fish and Tofu hot pot, however they are not consistent as sometimes it has black mushroom which I like but sometimes it's missing. Too bad there are not too many Cantonese cuisine around that serves good food. around.

Tina C.

Yelp
The most authentic Cantonese food you can get in Plano. Also, the most authentic Chinese service and ambiance you can get. We came on Father's Day at 6:30pm for dinner, and the place was PACKED. All around us were people talking loudly in Chinese. The wait consists of standing around the front door (they should really stick some chairs up there) and seeing if any tables were finally cleared. We waited only 10 minutes. My family ordered what we normally get: the roast duck and Chinese BBQ combo, orange chicken, salt and pepper fried seafood, and walnut shrimp. The dishes came out one by one rather than all at once. I like that Lucky City's dishes are consistently good (you know what you're going to get) and well-priced. Additionally, the restaurant gives complimentary pickled cabbages at the beginning and taro tapioca dessert (only at dinner time) at the end of your meal. What a deal. My family is a regular here so we will be back. Stay tuned. Summary: food 4/5, ambiance 4/5, service 3/5.

Maggie C.

Yelp
My family's favorite Chinese restaurant in the DFW area. We are regulars here and have become friends with the owners and wait staff! They have a wide selection of items on their menu; every Chinese dish you can think of they probably have it. The prices are decent for the amount and quality of food you get! We always end up with leftovers without breaking the bank. First Chinese BBQ is comparable but more expensive with smaller portion sizes. Once you are seated you'll receive a complementary pickled vegetables to snack on while they prepare your order. One of my favorite orders is the salt and pepper fried tofu! Straight out of the fryer the tofu is super crispy and flavorful without being too oily and the tofu itself is soft and silky. Be careful though because it can burn your tongue if you dig in too soon! I also enjoy their roasted duck and pig. Good flavor and crisp skin yumm. My mom's favorite is their orange chicken. This is not the same orange chicken that the Chinese fast food restaurants sell. It is not fried crispy and there is not heavy amounts of breading. Instead it is made of huge chunks of chicken very lightly fried and coated in a sweet tangy sauce! We've tried many dishes here and I can't think of one that I did not enjoy. After dinner they serve a complementary sweet tapioca and taro dessert soup. Definitely give this place a try if you are looking for authentic Cantonese food in the DFW area!

Yelp
It's been difficult for me to find a good chinese restaurant that I liked since I've moved to Dallas. Lucky City has become my go to now. The beef flat noodles are my FAVE. Perfectly greasy and great flavor. They come w/ bean sprouts but I request them to take them off and it's never been an issue. Any of the chinese bbq meats like roasted pork and marinated duck are good. My hubby always gets the roasted pork, marinated duck & chicken with rice. This combination is not on the menu but they'll gladly make it for you. If you come with a big group they have reasonable family meals starting off less than $30 and you can so much food! We ordered the special for 2 and it came with choice of soup and 3 dishes... we seriously needed at least two more people to finish our food. The only dish I did not like was the salt and pepper calamari. The calamari was rubbery, it was greasy and breading was falling apart. Service for the most part is good. It may be a little slow at times but it's pretty easy to get someone's attention.

Anh V.

Yelp
Traditional Canton restaurant with all the staples. However, try their crispy roasted pork when fresh out off the oven and you will be blown away. Crispy skin followed by a fatty layer that would melt in your mouth, finished by the tender juicy pork. Flavor and texture combine into an addictive bite.

Sandy H.

Yelp
This is my Chinese bbq and family dinner to go place. The food is always good and portion is big and great price. They have a private room with 2 big tables for private parties. I started coming here ever since they opened and still go even though I moved pretty far away. Some of our favorite dishes are the crab fried rice, all bbq meats, beef flat noodle and pepper steak.

James V.

Yelp
It is a grand place to eat. Being from Indonesia it, the food is like making love to my taste buds . There are many dishes I love to devour The help is friendly, according to me. When I go visit a dear friend of mine, I buy at Lucky City and take it to her and we both enjoy it totally. To me there are really only two places I love to eat. I would love to let you all guess. The place had a fire in the kitchen and is closed but to reopen in February or March. I will write a critique for that one too. A J Vanderpost Voice Teacher, singers are known for the love of eating.

Erica H.

Yelp
Yes! This place is located in the corner of a very unassuming plaza. At night the only other shop open tends to be the laundry mat across the restaurant. + 1 for the portion sizes. If you're hungry, come here. The portion sizes at Lucky City are large enough to make it around the table multiple times without feeling the need to glare at Cousin Joe for taking seconds again! The growing boy can finally make his gains... +1 for the price. Big dishes for a good price? A ballin on a budget dream come true. Ok yeah the prices have gone up over the years but so has everything else in the area. $30 for the meal package meant for 3-4 people - 1 soup, 3 choices of entrees, and complimentary sweet taro soup. Easily serves 4 people and likely will have some leftovers too! They have bigger packages for 8 to 10 people too but you don't have a choice in the dishes though - it's a set menu. +1 for decent taste. Love the spicy pork chops, which aren't actually spicy unless you eat the jalapeños. Love the fish and tofu hotpot - fish is always soft and huge plus that the whole dish is hot throughout the meal because of the burner. Beef flat noodles - yes! So simple but so good! Things I could do without - west lake soup and pickled veg before the meal. Soup tends to have too much cornstarch. Pickled veg tends to be too sweet for me and not always the freshest cabbage used. +1 for service. Nice waitstaff. With such a busy place they are still quick to get you any additional requested items. They are thoughtful in terms of knowing how to package different types of leftovers (separating fried from saucey dishes) which I appreciate! -1 tight quarters. It's a small space. So as busy as this place can get, sometimes when other patrons or waiters are moving around the restaurant they can tend to knock into your chair or table since they are so close to you. Also don't expect anything fancy here. Tables and chairs are clearly aged with some cracks here and there. Small price to pay for the food and menu prices!

Yelp
We have ordered from them for years and been very happy. But they have not responded to Covid very well. They do take out only and the service is VERY slow. If you call it in and they tell you 45 minutes, beware- that means they are busy and it will probably be an hour and a half or longer. They haven't figured out to get more staff or at least understand how long an order takes and give you an accurate time frame. I have sat outside waiting for my food to be ready 3-4 times in in the last 6 months. It's very frustrating cause the food is good and they are really cool people- but the service level has dwindled a LOT in the last year. Unfortunately, the only real alternative is First Chinese and they are cash only- so be prepared. Come back Lucky City!!!

Yelp
Here is the reason for one star. I loved to see roast duck on the menu. This means confidence and ability to deliver a hard dish. I only order it on my second try with the hardest dish. Why? I start with the easiest. Egg rolls. Are they crispy and fresh? If so, I'm all in. This place totally failed the first test. My egg rolls were out in minutes. Totally pre-frozen, over-cooked shells, kinda warm and utterly tasteless on the inside. How can you get the hard stuff right, if the easy fails?

Yelp
This place isn't really a 4 - probably a 3.5. Needed a place to eat at on the way back to Oklahoma and this place wasn't too far off from the highway. We got an order of eggplant (not spicy) and BBQ pork and duck. Everything was flavored really well. You could really taste the sweet coating on the BBQ pork (in a good way). Only complaint was that we got the lower quarter of the duck, so there was basically no meat. You also get a complimentary plate of pickled cabbage (good, but ours had a hair in it) and the traditional tapioca dessert. The place was packed with Chinese people, so you know this place is legit. There was a line for tables on a Sunday night. Service was really nice and fast.

Yelp
#I forgot to bring my baby. My 5 year old nephews and nieces thought it was weird I was taking photos of the #food. Imagine if I had my baby to put on it too!

Yelp
** Note: More detailed review published previously in Plano Profile ** We ordered the Lucky City meal for three. At $28 plus tax, it was a good value for lunch - particularly when we discovered Lucky City's food is served family-style. And unless you have a ravenous family, the meal for three will feed you for lunch today and your family for dinner tonight. We had a difficult time deciding on our three entrees out of the 21 delicious options. We avoided familiar Chinese dishes (such as orange chicken) in favor of items we might not regularly order. We settled on a starter of sweet corn chicken soup, followed by beef flat noodle, B.B.Q. pork and marinated chicken, and fried chicken (also called Cantonese Chicken elsewhere). While we waited on our main dishes to arrive, a plate of lightly pickled cabbage arrived along with a steamer full of rice. The slight tartness of the crispy cabbage paired nicely with the rice and took the edge off our appetites. The soup arrived in a tureen. Our main dishes arrived on platter after platter - make sure you don't sit at too small of a table! The beef flat noodles included (you guessed it!) wide flat noodles and slices of tender beef, along with bean sprouts and green onions. The B.B.Q. pork and marinated chicken arrived already sliced and in separate piles. The pork was amazing! With a slightly sweet flavor, the meat was tender but not-fatty. The marinated chicken was similarly tasty. A hint of what we guessed was Chinese 5-spice in the marinade creates a delightful mix of fragrant, savory and sweet. Each piece of the fried chicken was very crispy on the outside and tender on the inside. It came with shrimp crackers on the side. Make sure you check the Facebook page before going - changes in hours and upcoming closure dates are posted there.

Yelp
The portions are large and the price is better than a lot of the new Chinese restaurants in Plano. I would recommend getting the dinner 3 or 4 entree deal. The roasted pork is crispy and delicious but very salty. The egg and shrimp is fluffy and seasoned appropriately. The beef flat noodle is very standard, not amazing but not terrible. The fish chicken fried rice is not very salty but still satisfying. The minced beef soup was good but it was missing cilantro. I don't recommend the pork bamboo shoots as it was very dry. Best of all, they take credit cards. I would definitely come back!
