From start to finish everything about my experience here was 5 stars. I wanted a lobster roll for lunch, but also was taking a flight back to Miami that day and wanted to bring home lobster for my boyfriend and I to make lobster rolls that evening. I called in advance and the person on the phone was so sweet, she told me they have a DIY lobster roll kit for two people that they sell, which was perfect for me.
We got there and the menu looked exactly as it should the Staples with a few twists as options. Served your choice of hot or cold. I'm a sucker for truffle so I chose the truffle lobster roll, large of course, to eat there, warmed up. It was honest to God incredible. They made it perfectly. The bun was toasted to perfection, the seasonings, and the way the butter was applied was just perfect.
As for the DIY kit, they don't offer anyway to cold pack it and they only guarantee it will last for up to two hours, but I prepared for this as she told me on the phone, and brought some Ziploc bags with me into which I packaged the lobster and ran across the street to chipotle, and filled with ice using their soda machine for free. The entire thing worked great and I was able to put it right in my bag and it lasted the entire flight easily.
We also tried the lobster bisque, which I loved personally but my friends boyfriend wasn't a super fan, and he often catches his own lobster and makes his own bisque so he's very picky. But it was delicious.
The lobster rolls I made it home that night tasted just as fresh as that morning and everything about this experience was great, it's just that lobster is getting a little pricey these days I paid $95 for three lobster rolls. As a Florida girl, this is a nice treat when I come to New England.
