Battersea's Macellaio RC leans into its butcher shop roots with a meat-centric menu and an open kitchen showcasing hanging cuts. Service is friendly and knowledgeable, our server Marios navigated us through the beef cut menu. Opting for his suggestion of the 850g T-bone was a great idea. Both dry-aged cuts arrived cooked to a precise medium-rare, boasting a satisfying charred crust and juicy interiors. The fillet melted like butter, while the alternative cut offered a deeper, beefier punch. Sides were straightforward but competent - roast potatoes - providing ballast to the meaty main event. A citrusy, homemade limoncello cleansed the palate, a welcome reprieve from the usual cloying versions. The Merlot, affordable by the glass, held its own against the bold flavours. Pricing sits firmly in the "special occasion" bracket at £55 a head, but if you're craving a meaty grilled indulgence, Macellaio RC delivers on all accounts.
