The Best Buffets & AYCE Restaurants In Austin - Austin - The Infatuation

"Machi is an all-you-can-eat sushi and boba tea restaurant at the bottom of a fancy-ish Best Western, and if that sounds confusing, just wait until you see the giant Transformer statue guarding the door. It’s a strange place, but the food is surprisingly good for a restaurant that allows you to order “up to 20 pieces of nigiri at a time.” There’s a pretty long menu of soups, salads, appetizers, and rolls, and the food comes out almost as fast as you can order it. The sushi isn’t going to compete with any of Austin’s heavy hitters, but this is a volume game." - nicolai mccrary

Here is a clean, well-written Google review you can copy and paste: ⸻ Machai Sushi has quickly become one of our favorite spots for all-you-can-eat sushi. The variety of both raw and cooked options is excellent, and everything tastes fresh, well-prepared, and balanced. The sashimi cuts were clean and flavorful, and the rolls had a great combination of texture and taste. Their cooked sushi options were also impressive, with great seasoning and quality ingredients. The atmosphere is very pleasant and comfortable, making it a great place to sit, relax, and enjoy your meal without feeling rushed. A special thanks to Vishal for hosting and providing such great service. He was attentive, friendly, and ensured we had everything we needed throughout our visit. Highly recommend Machai Sushi if you’re looking for quality all-you-can-eat sushi with great taste and great service. We will definitely be back.

Google
All you can eat sushi here is an awesome deal. They sushi is high quality and service delivers it quickly to the table. Only thing not included in the price is drinks. The Rock n Roll and Nigiri were phenomenal. Highly recommend this place, especially one to bring friends to.

Google
Machi Sushi has a charming decor and a pleasant atmosphere. If you’re celebrating a birthday, the staff will even sing to you, which adds a fun and memorable touch. The food is fresh and delicious, especially the sushi, which stands out for its clean flavors and quality. One important thing to keep in mind is that pricing per person may change on weekends. Also, it’s best to order only what you’re sure you will eat, as leaving food on your plate can result in being charged the full price of that dish. I visited with my family, and at first, our server was noticeably unfriendly and distant. We weren’t sure if it had to do with the fact that we were speaking Spanish, but eventually, she relaxed, and the service improved somewhat. What I appreciated most about this place was the freshness of the sushi and how well everything was prepared. It’s a good option if you’re in Austin and looking to enjoy flavorful, high-quality sushi.

Google
This is a gorgeous, excellent tasting treat for only $40 you enjoy well prepared and elegant dishes. Great wait staff, servers and captains that stream in calmly to attend to your delightful desires. Give yourself and your loved ones a gift of pleasure and joy.

Google
This was the first time we’ve been here. As soon as we walked in the guy at the front desk was funny and welcoming. As soon as we sat down our waitress Mariangel came and helped us out. She was very attentive, nice and helpful. She came to check on us and made sure we were enjoying the food and if to see if we needed anything else or wanted to order more food. The other workers were also very friendly when they delivered our food and helped clear the table. The music was great and I highly recommend this place if you enjoy lots of sushi. The green tea ice cream was really tasty too. Overall, great experience and will come again!

Google
Delicious sushi, friendly service, and an inviting atmosphere. If you’re a fan of all-you-can-eat styled sushi, Machi Sushi is an excellent choice. High-quality sushi, quick and friendly service, and a really artistic, welcoming atmosphere. This is a great spot for a date night because of the ambiance, but is also family friendly! We had a wonderful meal and our server made great suggestions. I knocked off one star because the bathrooms could be improved (single stall - the floors were incredibly sticky) and because I was confused about pricing. We went on a Sunday at 11 a.m. but I was charged the dinner pricing. The food is worth the price, but I was surprised at such a difference. Still, worth it and we will be returning!

Google
Machi Sushi is my absolute favorite all-you-can-eat sushi spot in Austin! Their all-you-can-eat lunch option is available weekday from 11 AM to 3 PM. The food is delicious, and the raw fish is always incredibly fresh. The staff is super attentive to your needs, and they bring out the dishes remarkably fast. Plus, the dining area has charming decor and is always tidy, creating a really pleasant atmosphere. I highly recommend it!

Always great food and great service. Atmosphere is dim but great. You have to try the Rock N Roll sushi roll. 👌Im there every other week when im in austin for work.

Yelp
10/10 Food is pretty good! I recommend going for their dinner menu (3pm-close) it has options for everyone, even non sushi eaters! I came in here with my 10 month old and the whole staff was so nice. They were keeping her distracted while I ate. anytime someone came by they were waving at her or smiling! I believe it was the manager or maybe an owner gave us a free kitty stuffy to bring home! The staff is so friendly every time I've gone! I love the vibe of it as well they always have really great music and it's just so fun! I went on a weekday around 3 and it wasn't super busy and I'd definitely recommend that if you have young children it can get packed on the weekends! My server was Alan and he was so kind! I'd highly recommend the beef tataki, the cowboy roll, and the Tokyo roll! But honestly everything I've tried has been great!

Yelp
What makes Machi Sushi stand out from the other AYCE sushi restaurants in Austin? Is it the super cute decor inside? Or maybe the labubu claw machine? Haha those are just cute things I liked, but actually I think it's the level of service and food quality & variety. The workers were so kind and helpful. Everything came out FAST. I talked with a friend who went there before and he mentioned the same thing. I've been to some AYCE restaurants where they charge you or limit you on nigiri/sashimi. Here, it's included! The only thing you would have to pay extra is bubble tea or cocktails. I love the variety of the menu. Some things were better than others but that's just a personal preference. I believe it shares the same parking lot as a hotel with a giant transformer in front of it, but it's free parking.

Yelp
We have tried a number of ayce sushi restaurants in the austin area and this rates at the top. We had 4 adults, an infant and my 10yo. My 10yo ordered a Bento box because she's a picky eater. They didn't give us any problems about that and she was able to take the leftovers home. They even accommodated by giving her more rice instead of a salad or soup. We ordered almost all the raw specialty rolls except the rainbow roll. Everyone agreed that the Skinny Roll was our favorite. The pepper tuna was really good. All the fish was very fresh. We had mixed reviews on the calamari and the shrimp tempura with 2 votes for each. The crab rangoons well filled. The chicken wings were piping hot. There really wasn't anything we ordered that we didn't like. Our server was on top of things and our orders came out really fast. We were there for about 1.5 hours in total. We will definitely be back!!!

Yelp
Hands down one of the best all-you-can-eat sushi experiences! The fish was super fresh, the rolls were packed with flavor, service was top-notch, and the ambiance was really cute. We came on the weekend and tried their dinner AYCE menu (\$39 per person) -- worth every penny. Our server, Alan, was incredible! So attentive, friendly, and gave us amazing recommendations. We ordered: * **The Mexican Roll** - HIGHLY recommend, the mango on top was out of this world! * Cowboy * Shaggy Dog * Tokyo * Kiss the Fire * Astro - Garlic Edamame (so tasty!) Honestly, every single roll we tried was amazing. Even though we live far away, this is a spot we'd 100% come back to when in the area. If you're looking for quality AYCE sushi, you will not be disappointed!

Yelp
This AYCE sushi spot is AMAZING! We enjoyed the shaggy dog roll, the kiss of fire roll, and their sashimi & nigiri. The restaurant is beautiful and has plenty of the seating. Our server Alan was so kind and made the best recommendations.

Yelp
This place is fun! They are conveniently located at Oltorf and I-35. They have all you can eat options for lunch and dinner. Weekends are all dinner prices. The decor is so cute. The menu has so many options and you can order up to 20 Pieces of sushi or sashimi at a time. You can order and order until you are full or not to exceed 2 hours. I enjoyed the Vegas roll, deep fried without shellfish, which is sometimes hard to find. They have great salads and sushi tasted very fresh. Also they have fried Oreos which was a great finish to a yummy meal!

Yelp
After close to 1 year later, we decided to come back to give Machi Sushi another try. One of our family members wanted to try Machi Sushi so despite of our previous terrible experience we came to eat during a Thursday for lunch. Service was 1000% better than our first experience. Our waiter Shavel was great. Food came out fast. The establishment was 55% full. We came at 12:30pm. No wait. Lunch cost is $24.95 (limited menu) and dinner is $35.95. (Larger selections) We ordered: White tuna nigiri: 3/5 ok yellow tail nigiri: 2/5 red snapper nigiri: 2/5 mackerel nigiri: 0/5 super fishy definitely not fresh tuna nigiri: 3/5 ok eel unagi nigiri: 3/5 on the sweeter side and unagi cut was super thin. salmon nigiri: 1/5 fishy not fresh. pepper tuna nigiri: 4/5 All nigiri the rice was well seasoned and the rice portion was appropriate size (small) (not excessive rice. Nigiri rice did fall a part when picking up with chop sticks. Skinny girl roll: 4/5 tasty. Very little rice and the spicy tuna was good. Pepper tuna on top had a bite of pepper. Overall decent. Dragon roll: 3/5: decent. Very thin slices salmon and the shrimp tempura was thick. They stuffed with a lot of cucumber inside. It needed spicy Mayo sauce because the eel sauce was too sweet. Wings: 4/5 crispy wings and juicy. Hint of five spice and probably the only thing I liked. Red bean ice cream: 1/5 It was on the sweeter side. There were pieces of red bean but I do not taste the flavor red bean in it. The color was off putting. It was grey. Green tea ice cream: 0/5 it was bitter and uneatable. I've never had green tea ice cream so bitter. Overall experience, service got way better. There was 5 sushi chef making rolls which made service fast. Interior is beautiful with the ceiling decor. It's definitely a Vibe. Sushi is meh and not phenomenal but if you want a AYCE with options it's best to come for dinner one because you get way more options which I think is worth it. Would I recommend this place? I'm on the fence 40/60. We are planning to come back during dinner and see if service is still the same and with more option if we would like more options.

Yelp
Had I been writing this review months ago it would have been a 5 - but unfortunately, it seems like every time I come back, the quality gets worse and worse. I came for lunch and ordered yellowtail and salmon nigiri, a salmon and avocado hand roll, and a Philly roll. (Also crab Rangoon, beef fried rice, and green tea ice cream but this review really is for my sushi) The salmon nigiri tasted odd, so I thought it was a one off (I only ate 1 of 3) but after one bite of the the salmon hand roll I almost gagged from how fishy the taste was. The smoked salmon and yellowtail were fine but I do not think the salmon was as fresh as it should have been. I personally love salmon so that was really disappointing. My service was excellent and I have no complaints there. After my visit, I checked the health department score and it did drop between the few months they did their visits, so I wonder if there is a correlation there. Will probably be taking a long hiatus and hope that the quality returns to what it was when Machi first opened.

Yelp
Food: don't get the fried calamari. It was really bad. It tasted extremely frozen. The crab lagoons were good I will say. The miso soup pretty good too. Margaritas are not really that strong, but they were good. The rolls were OK. I feel like they were lacking something but the sushi with the raw fish on top was really good especially the salmon!! Overall I feel like I just give it three stars because the food is either a hit or a miss. I came during dinner and I just feel like for the price. The quality doesn't match. I would much rather go for lunch. Service: the service was great. Our waiter was new so obviously he was having a bit more trouble just suggesting, but he was very kind and checked up on us. Ambiance: the place is super decorated. It's so cute. They only have one restroom for female and male.

Yelp
A different version because we tried it also in Killeen, Texas. So now we try it in Austin. This place is really happening. A lot of customers and it's hussling and busseling. It was lots of movement. My parents love Ahi Sashimi and so I asked for 40 slices of it and possibly two times. It was my Mom's birthday and this was something I wanted them to have for an early dinner. We tried some potstickers, shrimp and vegetables tempura, some mussels, seafood soup and more. It's really hard to remember what we ordered. But the service is so great. Our waiter kept coming to check up on us almost every 15 mins. What a great experience. love it!
google avatar

Nacha P.

Yelp
We decided to try it here with a little drive but because it was quite popular on social media. The decor was nice, service was great. Food came out really quick and they were delicious. The sashimi could be a hit or miss. The size of it is not big and some could be great and fresh and some is not. The sauce on the rolls is a little too much to our liking. But over all we like it!!! Definitely love the transformer at the front.
google avatar

Cassandra L.

Yelp
Service is good and fast very clean, sushi is good quality for ayce rolls are nicely made. The soups are yummy and a great pallet cleanser. Parking can be awful during busy hours

Yelp
It was such a pleasant time & my favorite part was the ambience. The waitress was extremely patient and helpful, no reservations were required. They had bumblebee from transformers, Outside, which I thought was really cool. My favorite was their deep fried Oreos, but their Sushi was decent. It wasn't the freshness or anything. It was more, so just the flavors. But very good. Overall, my family really enjoyed the Hibachi salmon.
google avatar

Marcus R.

Yelp
One of my guys recommended this place for lunch one day. And then the whole crew pretty much showed up. We were like 10 deep in this place. We were the first large group to show up. The hostess even was like shocked and awe when we arrived. The ambiance of this place is nice and relaxing. A bit on the dark side but again relaxing. You have a choice during lunch. You can either go with a bento box or all you can eat for lunch. I highly recommend the all you can eat sushi. The value of the deal is amazing especially with the quality of the sushi they offer. I was skeptical about coming, but I am glad I trusted my co-worker's recommendation. It was well worth it.
google avatar

Christina H.

Yelp
The hype around Machi Sushi has died down and in its place? Mediocre and lackluster sushi that can be replicated (but shouldn't) at any other AYCE sushi spot in town. Machi is under new management, and it's noticeable. The quality of fish isn't as fresh, cold, or as flavorful as before. I kept my order small because it felt like I was forcing myself to eat to make the AYCE price worth it. If you visit on a weekday during lunch, the pricing is more cost efficient, but they offer a limited all-you-can-eat menu and removes some of the better items you'd find at dinner.
google avatar

Linda S.

Yelp
My husband and I have been here twice already and loved it! The first time we went was during dinner time (AUCE $35.95/ea) It was pretty busy, but they were super nice about it. The second time was during lunch on a Monday and it was pretty empty (AUCE $24.95/ea) Both times we had an incredible service. When you go there for the first time, the server will explain everything to you and it's so helpful, especially if you're new to the all you can eat world, or, like me, you're still unsure to some of the dishes. Everything we tried was really really good. The tempura is light and crispy. The ingredients are fresh, and the avocado is always perfect! I normally don't do a lot of spicy, but their dishes were very doable. Not too spicy. So if you like to have that extra kick, I'd probably ask for sauces to the side. The only two things I noticed that I tried once and that was it: - Fried calamari were stringy. They had some kind of hard string, and I wasn't a fan of it. - The Crab Rangoons could've had a better ratio between crab and cream cheese, but I loved the crunch to it The indoor place is really cool as well! There are a lot of cool decorations and I personally love the moody vibes! Overall, I'd really like it and I give it a 8/10!

Yelp
THE BIG: Located in South Austin, right off of I35 and East Oltorf road. The restaurant shares space with the Aiden Austin City Hotel. Interior is beautiful that is a futuristic tokyo punk vibes. Parking lot is available and limited but fortunately there's spillover in the hotel lot. THE BLACK AND WHITE: I came here with a co worker and we are sushi fiends. This place is AYCE and had a large menu list of sushi on order, rather than buffet style. The first order we went kinda crazy. Still managed to eat it all but that definitely lowered the four or five orders down to two or three. We got some yakitori, hamachi, takoyaki, tempura as starters. Then for the sushi, some of the highlights were the dragon roll, volcano roll (has cheetos on top), cowboy roll, and a TON of nigiri. Doesn't have the highest quality nigiri, but still satisfied the taste buds. THE FINAL BAMBOO: We came during lunch hours which has a cheaper price, however we wanted the full menu and got hte dinner price which was around $36pp. Worth it. Definitely a must try if you're hungry and looking for a sushi fix.
google avatar

Yelp
Great AYCE sushi in Austin for $25 lunch and $36 dinner. At sushi buffets, I'm there for the salmon sashimi, and yes, it delivered. Food: Thick slabs of salmon, okay tuna, and rolls that are packed with fish and light on rice. You can order 20 pieces of sashimi per fish per order with unlimited orders for 2 hours. Service: Very fast, very friendly, willing to sing happy birthday for our friends. Ambiance: Plenty of seating, parking, and surprisingly comfortable chairs. Overall, it's a great place to get your sushi fill! You can check out their menu here: https://qrco.de/bff8W4.

Yelp
Really solid AYCE sushi spot! We're staying at the hotel next door and decided to stop by here for AYCE lunch. $25 for lunch is not bad at all. We found the fish quality to be pretty good and they didn't skimp out on the cut size. We left very full and satisfied! Service was ultra fast too! We got our food within minutes of ordering. Our server was very friendly and respectful. Everyone else was quick at clearing our tables of dirty plates.

Yelp
Came here on February 22nd, 2025 with a good group of guys. We were all starving and got the all you can eat deal, which is a fantastic deal. Our server was incredibly helpful and fast. We tried almost everything on the all you can eat menu! The rolls are really well made and tasty. I prefer the ones with salmon or tuna. The nigiri is really nice as well. Don't forget about the appetizers too! Overall, if you are looking for an all you can eat sushi place in town then this is the spot. Be prepared to wait for a while if you come at lunch or dinner time.

Yelp
We came here for a big group celebration. My friend selected here for a group of over 20 people. We rsvp for around 2:30pm on a weekend. The place was packed at 2:30pm, which was surprising to me. There was also a wait. The interior was very well decorated and it looks like they remodel to enclose outdoor seating. While the indoor seating was well decorated, I like seating the "outdoor" part. It was less crowded and more space to move around. As I didn't expect too much from a AYCE sushi restaurant, I found everything else very accommodating. The waiter was very friendly and took all over our order. We ordered rounds and rounds of sushi and sashimi. I was that person who would try to get my money worth with sashimi. The service was very fast and we got our food really fast. This was surprising to me base on how busy it was. Overall, the service was great, the place was well decorated, the fish is good for what it was. We had to pay over 40$/ppl, which was a little steep for me. Will I come back here by myself again, probably not. But will I recommend a big group celebration, yes!

Yelp
Needed sushi, and I heard of a new sushi buffet spot, so Machi sushi I went. Atmosphere: Well themed Japanese street ally sort of feeling. I really enjoyed the lighting with lanterns. Food: Buffet time! The selection of items are pretty solid, I enjoyed the mix of hibachi along with plenty of choice of seafoods for sushi or sashimi style. Along with the fact that you can order 20 pieces of sashimi at a time versus most other places that give you a set amount. Overall solid selection and definitely won't leave hungry. Service: Buffet style, so you won't get much interaction from staff, but they were very well staffed and my party didn't have to wait much to place orders. Fixed my fish/sushi cravings for a solid price. Well kept area and great vibes. Would recommend if in the area.

Yelp
Stopped for dinner with a friend to curb a sushi craving! A cute spot tucked away off 35 the inside is decorated well with cute flowers hanging . Our waiter and the rest of the staff were very accommodating--our food came out fast! I would definitely recommend ordering in stages and taking it slow! We were starving and ordered a ton at once and which definitely was a mistake . Dinner includes a soup and salad and then you can choose to order from apps, sushi rolls, hibachi style entrees, and sashimi. We ordered a little from each section--the gyoza was really good it seemed fresh with a good dipping sauce. My favorite roll was the fire one with fresh jalapeños--they added different texture and freshness. Overall good experience --come hungry and take your time!

Yelp
I visited this restaurant on 3/11/25; and was extremely turned off. I had high hopes of finding a sushi restaurant for a good deal but after my experience, I don't think I'll be returning. *I want to preface this by saying that I don't think ALL the servers here do this.* My server in particular was very sweet and was not the issue here. Another server who brought out my food was carrying my plate of food in his hand and proceeded to cough into the hand carrying my food. To make matters worse, another server was stacking plates of food that was to be SERVED to customers! Not stacking empty plates to clean a table, but literally stacking dishes on top of one another- the bottom of plates were touching food. I cannot be more clear. I really tried my best to keep a positive, hopeful attitude but after what I had witnessed- I decided to speak to their manager. I did emphasize that it was not my particular server and I did point out the specific servers. The manager proceeded to apologize and explain that they are a new restaurant and are busy. She gave me a coupon for boba. But after what I witnessed, why would I ever step back into this establishment when it was clearly very unhygienic The food: mediocre, I think once you've been spoiled with high end sushi, this may or may not be your cup of tea. Their sushi rolls were alright. I also ordered their udon dish with beef because it looked really good, but unfortunately it was one of the plates stacked under another plate of food. The calamari was mid- it was mostly just the squid tubes, not the mini octopus/tentacles you might see in other calamari dishes (or at least that was what my dish was like). Their hot green tea was pretty standard.

Yelp
Consistently solid sushi. Wait staff is attentive and vibes are always high. They've got a lot of space, so small or big groups could have some fun here!

Rere A.

Yelp
Absolutely loved this place! The all-you-can-eat sushi was super fresh, flavorful, and came out fast every single round. Every roll I tried was delicious, and the portions were perfect. The staff was friendly, attentive, and made the whole experience even better. I left full and happy, and I'll definitely be coming back again. Highly recommend if you're craving great sushi and a great deal!

Yelp
I am a huge fan of Machi!! Their $25 all you can eat lunch just can not be beat. The price compared to what you're offered is incredible! $36 Dinner is damn good too and had even more options! I've been here several times and every time the table service is friendly and super fast! The bartender was a little stale once but I was just ordering a drink while waiting for a friend so I didn't have to deal with him much. Since they do get busy and work very fast they sometimes bring stuff to the table that isn't yours so watch for what's being dropped off. Now the food!! Ohhh the options for all you can eat are endless!! I HIGHLY recommend the soft shell crab roll, hamachi chili, Cajun roll! These are all on the dinner menu. If you're there for lunch try the dynamite roll and the futomaki roll!! Absolutely fantastic! Their desserts are amazing too! Fried Oreos, fried Twinkie's, fried bananas, and assorted ice cream! There's so much more on the menu these are just some of my faves you've really got to give this place a try!

Yelp
I've been wanting to try this place for a while and finally tried it with my friend last night. The sushi was really good and a decent size. We order sashimi, hand rolls, and a couple of signature rolls. Our waiter Alan was very funny and attentive and got our food out very quickly. We ordered 3 rounds of food. This is absolutely worth it for all you can eat. Come hungry! The inside of the restaurant was really nice. Unfortunately, there's only a single bathroom for each gender so you have to wait in line to use the restroom. We came on a Monday night and the parking lot was pretty full, not sure what parking would look like on the weekend. I would definitely come again on a weeknight.

Yelp
This spot is connected to a hotel on the south side of Austin. Parking lot is small and doesn't have enough room for cars to pass in both directions. We were sat quickly and our waiter was very attentive . I started with a Thai tea (not included in AYCE price. ) The tea itself was very watered down however the boba was a great texture. 2/5 Shumi was good but had a strange texture inside 4/5 The spicy edamame was very flavorful. 5/5 The baked green muscles were enjoyable nothing special that you can't get at the other ayce spots but I enjoyed- 4/5 The fried jalapeño(honeymoon) was basically a fried jalapeño popper- 5/5 but its served as a half a jalapeño cut into 2- if there's multiple people you might need to order a few at a time. The hamachi chili & pepper tuna tataki was great tasted fresh with a great sauce on top 4/5 Both the rolls were had (#18/#19) were falling apart, not much flavor to them as you would expect 3/5. The white tuna nigiri was very bland as well but fish seemed fresh 3/5 The shrimp yakatori was grilled shrimp with a sweet sauce on top-3/5 The habachi shrimp was grilled shrimp with a savory sauce 4/5 Fried Oreo was quite greasy 3/.5 . Bathroom was dirty and floors very slippery through the restaurant. Decorative very modern with lots of plants and neat lighting- seats were comfy. Wouldn't take the drive again from round rock to go here but if I'm the area, I might give them another try. Wasn't really impressed overall there's other ayce spot around town that I've enjoyed more.

Yelp
My party and I really enjoyed our food at Matchi. They have a nice variety of sushi with a nice sashimi selection. We really enjoyed the ambience. It was fun without being too loud. We could carry on a decent conversation. Our server started out evening very nicely. We will call him Al. Al had great suggestions on what sushi is to try and the preparation and delivery of the sushi was very quick. They are not much for presentation though, but that is fine. It really went downhill at the very end of our visit. Al essentially give us the check and told us we need to leave right now and did a hand motion of "shoo, get away from the table." we had at least another 30 minutes of the two hour allowance for our stay. Everyone in our party was very confused as we had really enjoyed chatting with Al and he seemed like a very friendly guy. We were further annoyed when we received our checks and noticed that we had been charged $15 for giving my infant two small pieces of sushi for her to try. She's 10 months old, come on.

Yelp
All you can eat sushi places scare the heck out of me but I will say this place has got it going on! The service is insanely attentive. We were all working on our laptops and the waitress was respectful and kept the food coming. I ordered off of their lovely lunch menu and got two rolls and a water for under $13. The place was clean and the restrooms were adequate (single stalls). Will definitely be back!

Yelp
The service was really kind and they did a very sweet surprise for my birthday. They had a robot come out with them to sing and brought me some desserts with a candle to blow out. Overall, the fish was surprisingly very fresh. We ordered a ton of sashimi and it was so easy to bite through, and dissolved so easily. The rolls stuck together and didn't fall apart. I also liked the portions for the rolls which made them easy to split for two people.

Yelp
Came to Machi Sushi for the lunch AYCE menu. There's not too many around so I HAD to try it since I'm a big sushi lover! Starting off when coming in, the atmosphere is beautiful! We were helped instantly since there was no wait time but it was on the busier side by the time we left. Food wise, everything came out really quickly. With that being said, the nigiri was decent. For the price, it is worth it since we got two plates worth but I wouldn't say it's the highest quality. The yellowtail was the highlight! We got a couple rolls like the skinny girl roll and double spicy roll. The rolls tasted mediocre, not much variety to them as well. We enjoyed the Dynamite roll the best! Overall, it was a cute place for a quick sushi date on a budget!

Yelp
The service was good, our waitress was very attentive. Some dishes did take a while to come out. The sushi wasn't mind blowing, but the apps were good. Overall a great deal. They don't take reservations and we went at 1pm on a Sunday and it was packed. Even with the whole place packed, it wasn't too loud or too close together that it would affect your conversation at the tables. We were really did not like the volcano roll. They do charge a leftovers fee if you have too much of a roll left on your table. Save room for dessert! The fried desserts were very good!

Yelp
Went with a friend who never tried sushi before and it's gotten better since they opened. We got a little bit of everything and my friend said he would go back. Service was good, ambiance is ok considering it's an AYCE place.

Yelp
This was our first time visiting this restaurant, which operates like a buffet but with slightly different rules. When we were seated, the hostess didn't explain how the system works. We waited for a server, and when they came, we finally understood the concept: there is a fixed price of $25 before 3 PM (lunch) and $35 after 3 PM (dinner), allowing you to order unlimited dishes during your meal. All the food was fresh and delicious. The fish, sashimi, and all the rolls we ordered were incredibly flavorful. The seafood tasted fresh, and the salad was also great. Overall, the food deserves five stars--it's definitely worth the price. Unlike some buffets that offer dishes with imitation crab or stale fish, everything here was of high quality. There's a wide selection of dishes, plenty to choose from, and drinks are paid for separately. They also offer a small selection of desserts (five options). Unfortunately, when they served the ice cream, it came in a chipped bowl. This is unacceptable, as bacteria can gather in the cracks. As the restaurant owner, you should remove damaged dishes immediately and never serve food in them. The atmosphere was lovely. The space was clean, beautifully designed, and well-lit, with attractive decor and well-set tables. It made for a very pleasant dining experience. Our server was very friendly and attentive--thank you to them! However, we were disappointed that the hostess didn't explain the rules of the restaurant, which caused some confusion at the start.

Yelp
Wow! Great experience! I remember when this location was a terrible sad old Chinese restaurant. Everything is new & fresh and food was amazing. We had lots of great stuff and tried a couple of unique fun things like a Houston roll that has hot Cheetohs on it. Superb service too!

Yelp
SERVICE/AMBIANCE: - This restaurant is very beautiful! I loved the interior of it - It seems to be quite popular, so I would expect a wait if you go with a party. We waited around an hour for four people. FOOD - Everything we ordered was absolutely delicious! My friends and I did that all you can eat menu, which was $36 on the weekend. I would recommend going with a group of people so you can maximize the amount of things you can try. - Unlike a sushi buffet, you place your orders with a waiter and the rolls are made fresh. I thought the quality of everything was amazing.

Yelp
Went for the all you can eat lunch on a Friday afternoon and it was pretty packed. We arrived around 1pm and were seated in one of the outer rooms, which had a noticeably different vibe without the beautiful ceiling decor from the main area. I would have preferred to sit in the main area. Service was excellent, as the staff checked in right as we finished each round and were friendly and happily took our order. For appetizers, I really enjoyed the miso soup, seaweed salad, and aged tofu. The salmon nigiri was especially fresh with wonderful plump and fresh rice. We tried the Skinny Girl roll, Golden Dragon roll, Rainbow roll, and Spicy Salmon roll. The Golden Dragon and Rainbow rolls were standouts, but overall everything was solid despite the limited roll selection.

Yelp
I love this place... I like to go alone so I'm not distracted by conversation!! I don't like raw sushi and they have plenty of cooked roll options!! Good stuff here... you won't be disappointed!!

Yelp
The hype is most certainly real, y'all. I had the eel roll, vegas roll, sweetheart roll, gyoza, seaweed salad, mushroom soup, cold sake, and some yakotori and nothing dissapointed. For just $35/person the all you can eat sushi was so damn good. As said previously they also have lots of other options besides sushi like chicken/beef takoyaki, miso soup, mushroom soup, seaweed salad, etc. and it was all great. Our server River was also very attentive and fortunately we weren't charged any extra for the few pieces of sushi we couldn't finish because we were all impossibly full by the end of the experience. They also don't do any "gotcha" policies like only having sushi and ensuring you eat the rice so you get fuller faster because they openly offer the choice to just have the fish by itself. We'll certainly be back soon!

Yelp
Um wow! This was my first all you can eat sushi experience and it was pretty great. It's in the old Marco Polo dim sum restaurant location next to a Best Western. There's a full lot but plenty of parking in the adjoining hotel lot. They don't take reservations unless you have a party of six or more so we went on a weekday and got a lunch rate of $25 per person. No line at all. The apps are pretty standard and delicious. There are about six cooked roll and six raw rolls and about 15 types of nigiri. There are also tons of hand rolls and additional basic sushi rolls. The tiny guy seated next to me ate 20 nigiri the first round, then 3 giant hand rolls, and then another round of 20 nigiri. He was ordering more when we left! Hollow legs may have put a dent in their profits that day. The food was as good or better than what you'd get from central market to go, which is $12 for one roll. It's not melt in your mouth sushi from Uchi so don't expect that. The robot server was a little useless and confused. Maybe it was her first day and she was shadowing. Service was fast and friendly but they could use about three more bussers since there are so many plates. It's a nice intimate environment. Lots of two tops. I liked the red bean paste ice cream and fried Oreo. If you come at night it's $35 pp, but there's an expanded menu. I will definitely go again, and bring my teenage nephews.

Yelp
You'll be sure to have a fun time eating AYCE sushi here!! There's plenty of parking, you can park in front of the hotel too I'm pretty sure. The restaurant is to the left of the hotel. Reservations can only be made if you have a party of 6 or more, and must be made at least the day before. There's an automatic gratuity of 18% for 6 or more. We went on a Sunday for lunchtime and although it was pretty full, it didn't seem like there were any parties waiting. The setting inside is nicely decorated and sets a fun vibe. I was very pleased about the variety of dishes we could order - there are soups, noodles, plenty of appetizers, hand rolls, cooked rolls, sashimi, seafood, and dessert! I could've filled up just on the appetizers alone. Your table can order up to 20 pieces of sashimi per person per round, which is a lot!! Unlimited rounds for 2 hours. I really liked the smoked salmon sashimi, and the rolls were satisfactory. It's dinner price the whole weekend - $35. I enjoyed the boba as well - got a mango yogurt boba with lychee popping boba. It was super sweet so next time I'd ask if the sweetness can be adjusted. The plastic can you get to take home is a cute touch! Food was SUPER FAST - Literally within 5 minutes of ordering, our food started coming out. This was great because we didn't feel like we had to order before we finished the food each round. It would be nice if they had buttons on the tables to ring down servers, but for the most part they came by our table often. Shoutout to Adam for taking care of us and making our friend's birthday special!

Yelp
A friend recommended this spot, and it's definitely a great value for the price! You can opt for the all-you-can-eat, but make sure you come hungry. The food was decent overall -- my favorite was the sweet potato roll. It does get pretty busy, and the ambiance is on the darker side.

Yelp
You typically can't expect much from AYCE sushi places and Machi Sushi is no exception. Really basic menu, food was just okay, wait time a little long. With the ambience you'd expect a higher quality experience. Not the best AYCE sushi around Austin.

Yelp
Work trip to Austin means I had to find an AYCE sushi spot to try out. Machi sushi didn't disappoint! They were fast at getting my orders in and served. I was honestly surprised about how fast they were coming out. The restaurant has a cool look and vibe. Sushi tasted great! Highly recommend! My waiter Jonah was the best part of the experience! He was very helpful when I asked for recommendations and very social. You could tell he knows how to serve guest/customers and never stopped checking in on if I needed anything! Get this man a raise!

Yelp
I was excited to try this new sushi restaurant, and it definitely lived up to the hype! Unfortunately they don't take reservations for parties under 6 people, so on a Friday night, we were told the wait for 2 people was going to be an hour and a half. However, it only took 40 minutes -- fortunately, it seems like that's a common theme for the wait time to be a lot shorter than originally told. While waiting, you can sit at the bar or they have an outdoor seating area. The service was excellent - our waitress was constantly checking in to see if we needed anything every time she walked by. All the food came out extremely fast! The only exception was the udon that took a while. This place is very affordable and has a large menu with lots of options. Great atmosphere and the inside is very cutely decorated too. The only downside was not being able to see the robot servers which was a cool part of the appeal! They put them away during busy times, which is understandable. This will definitely be a new go-to!

Yelp
This place is a bit of a story for me. I first found out about it when my sister went and told me how much she loved it (shout out LaPeshaa C *hearts*). I wanted to go but never found the time. I planned on going one day after work, but one day (today 8/19) I had to run an unexpected errand and since I was out during rush hour I figured I should go. It was about 15 minutes from where I was going, plus I realized they wouldn't be open when I left work later in the week. So I fought traffic to and made it in a bit over the estimated 15. I was immediately greeted by a cheerful young lady who instructed me to go to the to go bar to place my order. As I was walking up, I noticed 2 places she might have been talking about. As I slowly walked to deciper, a guy was standing behind the closest bar staring at me with his arms crossed. I walked up and he didn't say a word. I let him know (more quizzically) that I wanted to place a to go order. He pulled out a mobile order machine and just stood there. So I started my order and he told me to hold on. I waited while he punched the buttons then said "ok". I gave my order and he asked if that was it. I said yes and he said "ok". He did ask if I wanted a drink while I waited, I declined, got another "ok" then was left alone. I looked around the restaurant and noticed there was a lot of employees standing around. A shocking amount of employees. They weren't incredibly busy, but to have that many people just standing around on the periphery just seemed a bit odd. I looked for a bathroom but the signage was a bit misleading. The restaurant is connected to a hotel; and I realized this is the old Blue Moon! I went back and forth looking for the bathroom for a bit before an employee of the restaurant pointed through the restaurant and told me to ask another employee. I went over and saw another sign for the bathroom. Going in, it was warm inside but relatively clean. Not a place I'd be uncomfortable using the facilities. I wasn't there long and by the time I made it back to the bar my order was ready. The guy handed me my bag and took my card. Never saying a word. I had to let him know I pushed to have my receipt printed. It was like he didn't want to assist me. I don't know if I can say he was rude but definitely odd...to the point that he made me uncomfortable. I was glad to get out of there and away from him. In the car I checked my bag to make sure everything was there (as one does). The first thing I noticed was the bad was wet. It had soaked through to the outside. At first I thought it was one of the condiments but then realized it was the sauce from my Hamachi. Upsetting. Then I thought I was missing my order of red snapper sashimi but then realized it was put in the same container as the Hamachi. I wouldn't have done that because you wouldn't want the sauce from the Hamachi to get on the red snapper but since the sauce from the Hamachi was soaking into the paper bag I guess it didn't matter. When I got home I was still very excited to try the food. But it was more of a let down. The Hamachi was good and probably would have been better with the sauce. The red snapper was probably the highlight. It was fresh and firm. The double spicy roll was a COMPLETE AND TOTAL LET DOWN. The best thing to say about thing I can say about this roll is that the rice and sauce is good. Outside of that, the main ingredients of the roll were a disappointment. The spicy tuna on top was a weird texture and wasn't spicy at all. I know because I dissected the roll once I saw the most egregious atrocity which is that the "crunchy spicy crab" was imitation crab (which it doesn't state online and the picture doesn't show) with a crunchy mixture layer laid on top. Without the sauce there is nothing spicy with this roll. Being that I abhor imitation crab this was a complete waste of money for me. I would have never gotten it if I'd known. Overall, the averageness of the food coupled with the weird guy at the bar, I can't say this place is a must for me. It's out of the way and I could find much better quality at the same price point. I would like to come back to try the all you can eat since my sister loved it, but going ala cart and making this a go to is a no for me.

Yelp
Service was very lacking. When we arrived around 7:30 PM on a Tuesday evening, there was a 15-20 minute wait, and they gave us a beeper. Outside, there is a fun statue, and they have some outdoor seats around the corner from the front. The server kept ignoring us and at one point it had been so long since she'd last checked on us (she was in the back for at least 10-15 minutes) that I had to go searching for someone as everyone else who walked by (not our servers) ignored us. The food came out scary fast. The ginger was disgusting. The wasabi was okay. Most of the sushi rolls were okay, but the price was expensive per person for the AYCE and not worth it, in my opinion. The decor is the best part of this restaurant.
