Mai Fish Restaurant

Aww sooo good!!! It's the second time we ate at this restaurant and today, we took different plates than last time, just to see if it is as good ad yesterday. We decided to come back tomorrow because, spoiler alert, it is!!! The dishes are simply amazing!!! The kitchen should have a Michelin star or at least be part of the Bib gourmand because the tastes are just delicious, also because the quality remains awesome no matter wich dish you choose. You can close your eyes and pick any plate, you will not regret your choice. The products are chosen with love and we realize that the cook(s) really care about what they do and they want the customers to feel it. They give attention to details, which is rare enough to spot it: the white wine glasses are cooled down so you can enjoy your bevarage at the right temperature ; the decoration is simple and beautiful, which makes you feel cosy even if you are near the river, where all the tourists are spending time to have a walk and do some shopping ; in the restroom are small towels to dry your hands (not in paper or blowing mashines like in most of the places) ; the service is amazing too. The staff is so nice and kind, they have an eye on everyone just in case you want to ask or need something without making you feel observed. We like to eat in European gastronomic restaurants and I have to admit that I'm sad that we can't take the cook(s) home with us 🥲, since we are just here as part of our holidays in Vietnam. In this case, less is more. Perfect!!! Anyway, we will be back tomorrow to enjoy our last time eating at this restaurant and we recommand anyone who loves good food to stop here. The food was great. However, I urge all customers to check their bill at the end of the meal. My wife checked and found that they added an extra dish that we didn't order nor did this dish ever arrived on our table. The worst part was that 4-5 staff ended up coming to us saying that we had ordered it. Its pretty obvious from our empty plates on the table that even had we ordered this chicken dish it never reach our table. Yet they insisted that we should pay for it. I was, to be honest, somewhat flaggergasted that the staff did this. Moreover we were charged hot water at the price of a bottle water because they didn't have any hot teas on the menu that didn't have caffeine. The ending to a lovely meal left somewhat a bitter taste our mouths.

Mai Fish Restaurant offers a charming riverside setting with a relaxing ambience, perfect for unwinding over a cold drink. The service was attentive and pleasant, adding to the overall experience. The food was decent — not exceptional, but enjoyable enough, with a nice local touch in presentation and flavour. A lovely spot to take in the atmosphere of Hội An while having a comfortable meal.

During the New Year holiday in 2025, we visited Hoi An. In the evening, Hoi An Ancient Town was very lively, with lanterns and lights everywhere. We chose Mai Fish Restaurant in Hoi An Ancient Town to enjoy our last dinner of 2025. As it was December 31, there were New Year’s Eve music and dance performances on the opposite side of the river, which we could watch perfectly from our street-side seats.

Such a wonderful experience! The food is authentic and full of Hội An flavors – especially the Beef Lot leaf and Seafood hot pot!The atmosphere is cozy and welcoming, and the staff are very friendly.Highly recommend for anyone who wants to taste real Vietnamese cuisine!”

Had lunch the other day and it was fantastic. I had grilled squid as an appetizer and duck leg curry as the main. Both were outstanding but that might have been one of the best cooked peices of squid I have ever had.

Delicious food, good service, fair prices. Came here 2 nights in a row. I saw some reviews here that prices are high, come on are you serious? If you can't afford it, go eat in other places you cheap churly's.

You can absolutely trust this place with the taste. It won’t disappoint. The cocktails are interesting too ! The service , staff, vibe, everything is beautiful. Try the dessert with the banana. I found it on Google Maps and took my chances ! But it turned out to be one of the best restaurants, so i went there twice in a row!
