Where To Pick Up Breakfast Pastries For Christmas Morning

"Speaking of quiche, there’s a lot of it happening at French Quiche in Lincoln Park. Their Christmas breakfast box includes two slices of your choice of quiche - Lorraine, Provencale, Savoyarde, or Parisienne - along with two pain au chocolate and truffles. Or you can order a whole quiche de Noël, which is filled with lobster, cream, and swiss cheese." - adrian kane

Absolutely wonderful French cafe with all of the classic items you would expect! Beautifully decorated floor to ceiling with gorgeous flowers and even crystal chandeliers. On top of this beautiful decor the handmade pastries and sandwiches are amazing! We purchased many of the sweet and chocolate croissants as well as some of the savory pastries as well. We definitely will be back to sit down and have lunch in their lovely cafe area!

Wow this place is adorable! Would highly recommend coming in just to enjoy the atmosphere or a coffee date. Lots of beautiful pastries and macaroons, serves La Colombe coffee. Small businesses like these who really add to the community. Enjoy! We'll be back!

If you need a cup of coffee with crispy croissants, this is definitely the place to stop by. Their location is cute and they have lots of jam jars and other special gifts for loved ones. At this location service was always nice and the tastes of their bakery items are just delicious. Their price point can be higher than usual but the experience itself is worth every penny.

I had a tgtg order and the app said it was a $30 meal. I got a very improvised combination: A cold onion soup that looks more like onion stock, a piece of baguette with some salami on it, some plain waffle and a small pastry . $30 dollars meal. Needless to say but I am saying anyway that I will never be back.

Great lemon tart! Came here for a food tour. The flavors were amazing, with the fresh fruit brightening the nice tart lemon filling(it was very lemony). One thing I would say is that the crust is quite dense. The beautiful flower decor and natural lighting made the atmosphere so nice. The lady who brought our tarts was very nice too!

This is one of the best restaurants I have ever eaten at in Chicago. I ordered a salad, which came with crispy delectable chicken on top of fancy greens. The dressing was so refreshing. It was one of the best salads I've ever eaten. My sister got a delicious sandwich, mushroom soup, and a cup of lavender london fog that was brewed and sweetened to perfection. We ordered a pear dessert too, and I couldn't believe how buttery and delicious the crust was. The atmosphere is so warm and inviting, and the decor made my heart melt. I absolutely love this place. It was such an uplifting and lovely experience. I can't wait to go back!!! It was like a mini vacation, that's how much we enjoyed it.

Delightful little taste of Paris. Lovely atmosphere, attentive service and food is consistent. The bakery in the front offers all kinds of goodies, including macrons with a tiny seating area to enjoy your treat & an coffee if you prefer.

Google
The café looks nice, and the decorations resemble cafés in Paris! The vibe is on point, including music and ambiance. The food is good; I tried the baguette with ham and cheese, a.k.a. Le Parisien. We also tried the quiche, and it tasted decent. I liked the pear tart and the chocolate mousse cake. The service was decent, and the staff were friendly. I would definitely come back during brunch.

Yelp
Nice ambiance and vibe, service was also polite. Food was underwhelming and mediocre value. Had a turkey baguette, a ham croissant, strawberry cake, and a large Chai. Total was about $43. Chai was bland and watery, it motivated my wife to go get another beverage somewhere else. I also saw someone eating a sandwich there that brought a coffee from across the street, indicator right there. Strawberry cake came out first, and it was very tasty. Probably the highlight for me. Complex flavor and looked nice, but it was like the width of 2 fingers and about 5 inches long. So tiny, forced me cherish every morsel. Croissant and baguette took forever to come out, I think my croissant sat in the foil too long. It was limp, soggy, and underwhelming in flavor. Sad. Baguette was better, nice crispy crust, medium chew on the bread. More generous turkey and cheese, better value. Go for the vibes and a memory of France, but it's lacking the soul. Now I just want to go back to Paris.

Yelp
The sandwich here cures me. Cute interior, but I've only ever ate at the cafe. Note, you will wait awhile to get your food. I've been here 3 times now and it always takes around 20 minutes to get my sandwich.. down 2 stars for this reason alone. Not sure why it takes that long for a sandwich. I think one of the times they forgot about our order until we asked.

Yelp
A cute and delightful Parisian cafe in Lincoln Park! The place was very vibrant and makes you feel like you're in a French cafe. Servers were pleasant as well. I only got a latte and some macarons as i needed to be somewhere, but they were all very tasty. Cannot speak for their sandwiches or quiches however. They also sell some French goods such as tapenades and honey. A lovely place to grab a bite to eat if you have the time!!!

Yelp
I got a matcha lavender latte w almond milk. The service was pretty quick and friendly. The inside was super nice as well. I would come back and do a little pastry and tea action. They also offer a bunch of French products like oil and jam etc.

Yelp
We used to live by the first Maison location on Clark St. And visited quite often. we have since moved to a different neighborhood so it's been a while since we had our favorite quiche! This location is so cute! The decorations and ambiance are quite different from the Maison we knew. We took some friends with us and dined inside. But there is a quick service kiosk in the front for anything you want to grab and go. The service was a tad slow, I think there was just a rush that day. We did dine on a Saturday morning. Prime Chicago brunch time! Everything was clean and the bathroom seemed well maintained.

Yelp
Maison Parisienne, located on Armitage Ave, is a delightful French café that offers one of the most chill and colorful dining experiences I've ever had. From the moment I stepped inside, I was transported to Paris. The ambiance is charming, with a beautiful fountain in the middle of the restaurant and soothing French music playing in the background. The décor is vibrant and authentically Parisian, creating a serene and inviting atmosphere. I ordered Le Thon Mayo, a French baguette sandwich filled with tuna, mayo, mustard, and lettuce. The flavor was absolutely on point. The bread was perfectly crunchy, and each bite was a testament to its freshness. The tuna was flavorful and well-seasoned, enhanced by the creamy mayo and the slight tang of mustard. The crisp lettuce added a refreshing crunch, making the sandwich balanced and satisfying. Every component of the sandwich worked together harmoniously, from the crunchiness of the bread to the savory, flavorful tuna filling. The mustard brought all the flavors together beautifully, providing just the right amount of zing without overpowering the other ingredients. My experience at Maison Parisienne was nothing short of perfect, and I would definitely come back for more. Whether you're a fan of French cuisine or simply looking for a serene spot to enjoy a meal, this café is a must-visit. Highly recommended!

Yelp
This is a sweet little French bakery restaurant on Armitage in Chicago. Cute decor, nice serving staff and tasty food. We were there at lunch and ordered the Quiche Lorraine and ham and cheese on baguette. Both came with a side salad with tangy mustard dressing. We had a cafe au lait and a vanilla hot chocolate. All were delicious! We walked so did not have to find street parking. Serving staff was attentive. I did feel it was a bit pricey - our little meal was over $50. While it was worth it to us for fresh, house baked and prepared food, I could see where the price might curb spontaneous, frequent lunch check-ins. But definitely could frequently drop in for any of the pastries in the display cases in the front of the shop!

Yelp
The food, service from our waiter & Chef Davis & ambience all were amazing. I'm so happy with our experience & the way they helped celebrate my daughter's birthday. The Chef came out to greet us & chat with us a bit. He sent an appetizer cheesy/crunchy/bread sticks & a tart with a candle to celebrate my daughter. It was a rainy day but we felt like we traveled to Paris for the day. Thank you so much, we cannot wait to be back. Again! the food, lattes & atmosphere, pastries & service was amazing!

Yelp
This is a beautiful little French cafe. They have a variety of croissants, macaroons, as well as tarts, cakes and a few sandwiches. My latte was good ( no sugar free syrup option if that's important to you). I am knocking a star due to the service. I have never been here before. I didn't realize there are two options 1. To order at the counter and then eat/ drink at a small bar with 6 bar stools OR to be seated and have table service. It would have been helpful if the person behind the counter had actually asked as when I went to order. When I got my order I asked if I could sit at a table it was only then I was told " no " that section is for table service only " despite the place being 3/4 empty. Next time I'll know to ask for a table immediately. No complaints on my order and the place is pretty charming so I'll return.

Yelp
We enjoyed a lovely lunch at Maison Parisienne! Hubby was craving a sandwich, and the roast beef did not disappoint; little T and I shared a tartine with pear, which was delicious! I would love to come back again and try their coffee/tea or some crepes! The decor was aesthetic - it seemed like everything was well-decorated. There was only one waitress working at the time, but the service was fast.

Yelp
Do not waste your time, because time is what you will waste if you go in here. This retail space sat vacant for over a decade so I was excited to see something go in and frankly with a line wrapped around La Colombe I decided to stop here for a quick latte. That could not have been a worse decision. When I came in the first thing I noticed were the other patrons in the "waiting" area and their faces. I soon realized why they looked at me the way they did. I ordered my latte at 11:15; 7 people in the waiting area and maybe six tables in the back. So it was in no way slammed. 11:48 I was now the last one of us standing waiting for one drink, the people before me would be called and with eye rolls go up and get their drinks and say they would never be back. At one point a couple came in right after me and asked for a refund after waiting 15 minutes. The staff looks stressed and not well managed, there doesn't seem to be any clear direction. And frankly waiting that long for a coffee is absurd. While I had the time to do the due diligence, I noticed the food seemed mediocre and there was an odd smell in the sitting room. Stand in line at La Colombe or go to Foxtrot, you'll be done way before any one at this place. Also, the 3% fee is a joke, you can ask to remove it but restaurants should not be allowed to practice this.

Yelp
Ordered the chocolate croissant. Was slightly less than $5 with the service fee. The croissant was very flaky and buttery. However it would have been better served warm as opposed to room temperature. There were tables on the side of the restaurant if you do not want to be served.

Yelp
Ahh! The third location here. I guess you will call this "Lincoln Park # 2" because the second one is on Clark & Fullerton. This is the biggest one out of the three. Had a Chocolate Chip cookie. The staff and service is fantastic. PS. It's soft opening 'til 2/3; That's when the whole cafe is going to open. So they're still testing the items & have variable hours.

Yelp
I had to look up how to spell this, but their "Tartine à l'italienne" is my idea of the perfect meal. Crusty bread, avocado, a thin slice of prosciutto, a little cheese, a perfectly seasoned salad with your preferred latte on the side... The only way to start a Saturday morning. Their sweet baked goods are also delicious, the best I've found living in Chicago for 15 years. Their quiche are a little soggier than I like, but I think that's personal taste. If I'm feeling very decadent, I order in, and sit with my cat in the morning sun enjoying the perfect breakfast... Nothing better.

Yelp
I recently had lunch at Maison Parisienne and found the ambiance charming - it took me right back to a Paris cafe. My salad and sandwich were delicious. I liked that the salad was extremely fresh and lightly dressed. The sandwich was made special by the incredibly crusty delicious baguette. The service was friendly and efficient. Finally, there was no way I was leaving without getting a few pastries to take home. The croissants are not to be missed!

Yelp
The other week, I ordered a cake online to bring to a holiday party, because I had tried it before, and it was delicious. About 10 minutes before I was scheduled to pick it up, they called me to tell me that they didn't have any of that cake left, but asked if I wanted to substitute something else. I should have just asked for the refund, but had already planned to bring dessert and didn't have time to make another stop. I agreed to the substitution, and sadly, it wasn't anywhere near as good as what I had ordered originally. I think their food items are good, but this was just poor customer service.

Janis E.

Yelp
Service was really bad. Waitress had maybe one other table but ignored us while she cleaned and set empty tables that no one was waiting for. Food was eatable but definitely not worth the wait or price. Could not get bill from waitress who had disappeared. Bumped into her as she was leaving the bathroom asked her for the bill again. Still didn't get it and had to go to the counter and ask for help. I had wondered how we could get a table immediately at the height of "brunch time" but understand now. Too bad, cute place great location.

Yelp
I had lunch for $80 and bought some items at the checkout and they shorted me a $5 croissant and wouldn't answer my email! For a credit! Poor service and overpriced! I would not recommend! Stale overpriced pastries!

Yelp
This is probably the cutest place I have ever eaten at ! We tried le saucisson and a chocolate Nutella croissant. Both were amazing and so fresh tasty. The restaurant is located in such a perfect place. The staff is really nice and helpful. The restaurant is also so cute and Instagram worthy. It reminds me of cottagecore I love it. We had a great time.

Yelp
3 stars for the cute decor. Didn't try other pastries but the drinks and Croissants are not impressed. Good place to sit down for a coffee chat.

Li S.

Yelp
I accidentally ordered food for pickup at the wrong location. Completely my fault. Sam patiently and empathetically helped me get sorted and saved the day. Not only do I love the crepes here, but am pleasantly surprised to see how well they take care of their customers.

Carrie H.

Yelp
We came to this location on Father's Day and the cashier was so incredibly rude that I will never step foot in here again. I said hello and they said nothing and glared at me. Weird but okay, I ordered a drink. They looked up glaring and silent. I thought that was weird they didn't say "anything else?" so I just kept ordering the food. After paying and tipping, not a thank you, a smile, nothing. Nothing but glaring and not a word said the entire interaction. It was crazy! What a terrible person to treat me like that after I was kind throughout.

Yelp
Cutest little place with the most delicious food! Even the plain croissants were out of this world! The coffee was also amazing. The service was great. Highly recommend!

Yelp
It is basically a self-service restaurant. The sign on the door states no cash, credit card only, but on the check, I had a 3% service fee, and they wanted a tip. My quiche was cold, I walked to the counter and asked for a refill of my coffee, and I had to rebuy another cup.

Yelp
Cute French bakery. Great place to sit down and have a nice breakfast! Employees are very patient and take their time to go through all the pastries and menu items! Great addition to the neighborhood. Highly recommended!!

Yelp
I want to start by saying how much I have loved Maison Parisienne since it started in Chicago. Both locations - Clark street and Armitage have the best pastries, food and drinks. I'm so glad the hours have also expanded and they're open later now. I had a rather unusual experience today dining at the place on Armitage. Keep in mind we visit this place several times each month, sometimes many times a week. My husband and I are foodies and we have visited thousands of restaurants over the last 21+ years in Chicago and continue doing so. But nowhere have we had the experience we had at Maison Parisienne Armitage location. We both ordered the Salmon salad and my husband asked for an extra side of guacamole (of course for an extra charge) The food came in and it didn't look like the extra side of guac was there. So we called our server and he politely asked for the side. Our server said "sure I can bring you an extra scoop" and then disappeared. The interaction was not more than 1-2 mins. We finished our salad and thought the kitchen must be busy and may have forgotten abt the extra side and asked for the check. The manager (very young, polite person) then came with the check and said there was some confusion with the chef who was bi-lingual and didn't quite understand that an extra side was asked. We said no big deal, we understand. My husband and I are both bi-lingual and we totally get how it can sometimes be confusing. Then the manager told us that the server was very upset in the back because she felt she was not treated with respect. We were quite shocked and taken aback. Our interaction was not more than 2 mins of letting her know we didn't get the side and then her sayg she could bring it out. The manager then proceeded to lecture us how the server should be addressed as "him" and we should always make eye contact while speaking to them. She offered us free dessert/cake for the inconvenience. We politely said no. She then asked if she could say some more and proceeded to lecture on how she is close to the server and really disappointed that her server felt she was not treated right! At that point I had had enough. I'm not here to listen to your lecture when nothing was done or said to your server and you start lecturing and mistreating a repeat customer purely on the basis of how your server felt. I said firstly no one said anything rude at all, we simply reminded the server for what we asked. My husband even said he was sorry if we offended the server in any way. I thought it was not necessary because honestly neither if us even said anything. I told the young manager I deal with clients in my line of work all the time and if you are in the hospitality industry you need to have a thick skin. I have never felt so weird and out of place and so humiliated ever in a restaurant. We walked out not to go back there!

Yelp
I stopped in the new Armitage location and got some croissants to go. Unfortunately, I didn't realize that their pistachio & almond croissants are nothing more than a regular butter croissant cut open and spread with a horribly sweet nut spread - almost like a sandwich. They were awful! Big pass on this restaurant. Sorry. Service was okay - my server didn't have any interest in recommending anything. She was honest, though - she realized she charged me for 4 croissants instead of 3 - she fixed the problem by giving me a 4th croissant.

E. C.

Yelp
if you are looking for dose of French baked goods like croissants, patisseries, and savory food stop in here. This a new, recently opened location for them and it is very pretty inside, full of flowers, smelling of baked bread, kind of like walking into a boulangerie in Paris. They have an older location on Clark St in Lakeview. I am so happy they finally opened. I think they make one of the best croissants in Chicago. This location has their line of condiments sourced from France, tapenade, champagne vinegars, mustards. I have a feeling this one will be super busy once they fully open including their dining room but they did a great job.

A D.

Yelp
The food was delicious but our coffees never arrived and we ordered all together. Our server was the only one for the whole floor and then began training someone so I can't fault her for not noticing. She offered to give them to us complimentary to go which was very thoughtful- it just took an additional 10 minutes to get those.

Victoire S.

Yelp
Their pastries and breads are WONDERFUL. Drinks are good too. But the food is overpriced and really not that great in my opinion.

Craig R.

Yelp
Food and drinks are great, if a bit pricey. Knocking a star for service. Our waitress was very nice, but we got the wrong crepes and our food was not served at the same time. Which is a good thing because after waiting 15 minutes staring at everyone's finished plates, my waffle was still nowhere to be seen. Or heard - maybe a comment from the waitress that the machine wasn't working or something? At that point our waitress wasn't seen for quite a while and we got another one to just take off the waffle and we left. Sad ending to a really good start. All restaurants have trouble keeping good staff, so I hope they can get past this.

Margaret F.

Yelp
Really cute! Predominantly a pastry place. I got the ham and cheese croissant and it was great! Definitely will go back.

Patti P.

Yelp
Tasty croissant but quite frankly my rating is related to the service fee. I stopped in to get a couple of croissants and noticed a 3% or so service fee added to my total and asked what it was for. The response was it is for the service being provided behind the counter like putting my croissant in a bag. Isn't that called overhead? Of course then the system asks for a tip. I think not.

Jenee P.

Yelp
Very charming interior but that's where anything wonderful about this place ends. The quiche was just alright, absolutely too rich for a typical quiche. The almond croissant is a lie. It's just a regular croissant split in half and covered in butter. There was no almond paste like you would usually find, and the croissant was over cooked and burnt. I also ordered a chai latte that left much to be desired. Not at all close to anything French, and certainly not worth the $25 cost.

Matt G.

Yelp
Great for to go service, line inside was long but moved steadily. Got french press and cheesecake-delish,

Alyssa H.

Yelp
Popped in because it's new, ordered a single chocolate croissant for $5.68, got home only to discover it was burnt to a crisp. All edges were rock hard, and without any effort, the entire croissant split in half to reveal a tiny sliver of chocolate. Will not be back.

G O.

Yelp
I hate to talk down about local business as i want to support them over big chains. I went twice to the new location on armitage, i am not fussy about service or food but frankly the food is mediocre. I am french and not looking for the perfect croissant, we are in Chicago after all. However, this is not cheap pastry so i expect minimum quality. Both times, i got chocolate croissant, raisin danish, pistachio croissant etc I can honestly say the pastries were dry, bordeline hard not soft or moist and zero flavor. I couldn't taste the pistachio and didn't see much chocolate. Service is average, i put 2 stars because the location is convenient on armitage near the brown line. I wonder if i should try again. For the same price, there are other french bakeries in chicago more deserving of my business at this high cost. The retail items in front of the store are quite costly. Small mustard jar for $10?!!

Ally T.

Yelp
great food and ambience - a little bit on the pricey side but great for occasions or family visits.
