Majestic

"Reopened in 2018 at this location, the airy dining room sits under a glass roof and overlooks a garden. The food combines modern techniques with time-honoured traditions and is exquisite in both taste and appearance. Try their dim sum, hor-fun noodles made in house or Hakka ginger wine chicken soup with no water added. Business diners can opt for items in individual servings. Reservations a week ahead are recommended." - Michelin Inspector

7 Best Dishes To Try In February 2018

"For chef/owner Yong Bing Ngen, this new iteration of Majestic housed in a futuristic glass pavilion suspended off the fourth floor of Marina One, is a culmination of his storied 35-year-long career and everything he wanted to see in his restaurant, from the exclusive modern setting to finally having his own dim sum kitchen. The show-stealing dish here is the roasted Ireland silver duck in Peking style, served with pancake, scallion and cucumber. The skin is as expected, crisp and fragrant with the accompaniments, but it is the meat of the duck that truly stands out. Instead of being chopped up and cooked into a second dish of noodles or fried rice, the duck meat is sliced and served in its jus, cooked through, and melt-in-the-mouth tender and juicy." - Michelin Guide Digital-Singapore

Revisited this restaurant within 2 weeks, their service is still good and sishes are still yummy. Minimum charge for their Private room is 800, corkage charge is 30/bottle. Had business dinner here and ordered the set for all with the price 100++ per head. Very reasonable price with big enough portion for all of us, 7 males.

I has been eating here for more than 5 times now. Finally I want to leave my personal review here. Really must try the signature Sarawak Fish here! They served Patin, Black Emperor and Wild Empurau! The standard of the fish here is mind blown. Try the soy bean sauce style to cook the fish. Also, the signature Char Siew pork! That is just amazing and incredible. I had tried so many char siew in SG, nothing can compare to this. The honey on the char siew makes it so delicious.

I had heard a lot about this restaurant and decided to try it out during a recent family lunch. We made a reservation and ordered several dishes. Here’s my take on the experience: 1. Dimsum Trio (4.5/5):** The lobster crystal dumpling was fresh and flavorful, with a thin skin. The siew mai was delicious, and the yam scallop was perfectly prepared. A great combination overall. 2. Fresh Prawn Dumpling (4/5):** One of the largest har gao I’ve ever had. The prawn was fresh, and the skin wasn’t too thick, but the skin and prawn didn’t blend well, which was a slight letdown. 3. Xiao Long Bao (4.8/5):** Surprisingly good! The XLB was sturdy and slightly larger than usual. The soup inside was sweet and delicious. 4. Radish Cake (3.5/5):** Pretty ordinary. You could taste the fresh radish, but it didn’t stand out in any way. 5. Peking Duck (3.5/5):** Quite disappointing, given the hype. The duck rolls were average, and the sauce was nothing special. The remaining meat was served separately—tender but unremarkable. 6. Seafood Hor Fun (3.5/5):** Another overhyped dish. The gravy was bland, and it lacked wok hei. The seafood was fresh and generous, though. The ikura added a unique sensation when eaten with the gravy. 7. Fried Durian Ice Cream (4.5/5):** Not a fan of fried durian, but it tasted surprisingly good. Conclusion (4/5): The dimsum was excellent, but for the price, the overall quality didn’t feel top-tier. The Peking duck and hor fun were letdowns. Still, the food was good overall and worth trying. The service needs improvement. We had to ask for menus, request three times to place our order, and only got tea refills once or twice. The manager even asked us to pay before we finished our meal. On the bright side, Ken, another manager, advised us not to overorder, and a non-local waiter was very friendly. They really need to step up their service to match a premium dining experience.

The food is really good. The fish is very fresh and reasonably priced. The Peking Duck and the dim sum were also nice and the portions are larger. Overall it is a little expensive but worth it.

Booked a table for 7 for dinner on Saturday and was pleasantly surprised to be given a private room, it was very much appreciated as the dinner was a birthday celebration and we had a cake sent to restaurant prior which they graciously agreed, thanks to the Manager Bong. We pre-ordered the set menu M which was a good spread and the dishes were served in good timing. Our favourite was the Peking duck which besides the crispy skin that was served for the wraps, the drum sticks and the meat were served separately with a delicious gravy unlike most restaurants that would either serve it plain or fried the meat in noodles. Service was great with Annis coming in to constantly change out our plates and replenish the hot pu-er tea, she was also friendly and attentive to our needs. Highly recommended and would love to be back for their dim sum!

Had lunch at Majestic Restaurant on CNY Day 4. Food was served fairly quick, all the dishes we ordered were tasty. Service wise, most of the staff are quite average and not like the usual warm and friendly service in Chinese restaurants. Since the price is a bit higher, this place is more for special occasion. If your wallet is fatter than average people, you can frequent this place.

Great food and great ambience. Particularly like the yam scallop dim sum and broth meesua. Fried durian ice cream is a must try! Bento box is really good. Love the dim sum, especially the har kau and chicken feet.

Majestic Restaurant - the culinary pride of Chef Yong Bin Ngen. Always a joy to relish and revel in the Cantonese chinois food here, set in a unique location for a Chinese restaurant. The airy dining suite is appointed under a glass roof overlooking a green scape. Every morsels of food here is the distillation of modern techniques with time-honoured traditions and is exquisite in both taste and appearance. Notable dishes personally - dim sum items like har gows were luscious and succulent, char siew paus were tasty and fluffy, five spice pork belly roast was aromatic and juicy. Standouts - the shark bone collagen soup is a must order - extremely tasty and rich in velvety texture. The baby abalone mee sua was sublime and comforting. Desserts were memorable - especially the durian fried ice cream was superb. Mango sago was also very refreshing. Service could have been a little friendlier or more polished - expected as the benchmark for setting apart the good and the exceptional standard of a Chinese restaurant. Having said that, service was generally earnest and brisk without much hiccups. Just wish for it to be friendlier or more personable to leave a deeper impression - often the reason for revisits. Overall, a good place for tasty Chinese dishes and worth a visit. Perfect for business lunches or milestone celebrations.
