Set inside a 1920s Mediterranean-style villa, this beloved spot turns out generous, comforting plates and romantic patio evenings. Frequently praised by Indianapolis Monthly and often mentioned by local critics for atmosphere as much as the red-sauce favorites.

Date night with husband☺️ The place is pretty packed, even with a reservation we had to wait for 30 min to get a table but the moment you’re shown to your table the service is exceptional. We opted for verandah seating, it was a hit with the weather being cooler than the other days. Our server Sherry knows what she’s doing and great at recommending house specials and the various items at the menu. She even made sure about the dietary restrictions before hand. We ordered their Sicilian Asparagus patties, rosemary chicken lasagna and Chicken involtine. Everything tasted delicious and I cannot wait to go back and try the others. Also, you cannot miss their house made tiramisu. It was delishhhhh.

Second time here & it was as wonderful as I remembered. The prosciutto and melon appetizer was a delight to the senses - mixing sweet & salty. Our server recommended the Mediterranean salad & it was also delicious. The service was timely & professional. A great date night spot! The Mediterranean pasta was extremely delicious and the spumoni gelato was like no other! Highly recommend if you’re looking for the best Italian dishes around, but expect a wait unless you have a large party with reservations.

1st time ever trying this one. Had come to us by being facebook recommended by several friends. Our experience was close to being perfect if it wasn't for the obnoxiously loud family that was nearby with small kids. That really ruined the special dinner outing for my wife's birthday, when you can't talk to each other. There was NO special birthday dessert....which was sorta a bummer when so many (even st elmo's) comp your dessert when you show your ID with week range of your birthday. On the bright side of things the food is amazingly perfect: BREAD (the best ever) the Lasagna (perfect) Sangria was one of the best tasting ever! I like everything about the quality and service.....just didn't enjoy the parking situation and the noise but we will give it another try just because this place seemed to have the quality aspect nailed down. Also I would not recommend it to my friends as a place to celebrate their birthday. Stick with the places who actually say "happy birthday"

It was a great summer day with perfect cooler temperatures that we can sit outside when dining at Mama Carolla's. We had the soup of the day, Italian wedding soup, Sicilian Patties as the appetizer and the Veal Medallion as the main dish. Overall the food tasted good, the wedding soup somehow more soupy than we expected, other dishes are great. Their soul dough bread is fantastic, crispy outside and soft inside, great companion with the leftover source of thr dishes.

Stepping into Mama Carolla’s feels like stepping into a charming Italian villa. From the moment you walk in, the atmosphere is warm, inviting, and full of character - perfect for a date night, special celebration, or just a cozy evening out. Also, it’s right off the Monon trail which makes for a fun location. The food absolutely lives up to the ambiance. Every dish we tried was flavorful, hearty, and clearly made with care. We ordered the shrimp cocktail, fried ravioli, beef lasagna, and uncle dinos - all delicious but you honestly can’t go wrong with anything on the menu. Service was consistently attentive and kind, even when the place is busy (which it often is - reservations are a good idea for 6 or more!). The staff is knowledgeable and always happy to offer recommendations or wine pairings. It’s one of those rare places where the atmosphere, service, and food all come together to create a truly memorable experience. If you’re craving authentic Italian in Indianapolis, Mama Carolla’s is a must-visit.

Google
One of the best places for Italian food in Indy 🇮🇹 It's always busy and lively and a reservation is highly recommended. Food is delicious. Service is fantastic and the building is a historic home! Appetizers • Bruschetta - heavy on the cheese, crunchy bread and we had our own container of balsamic to pour • provolone with melon - delicious, a bit heavy on the balsamic Entrees • Beef lasagna - Quite good. Serving size was medium large. • Chicken Piccata - The chicken was cooked perfectly, sauce was falvorful. The soup that came with it was Italian wedding soup. It was different than what we had other places. It really seemed like a chicken noodle soup with thinner noodles and just some meatballs and spinach in it.

Google
truly the BEST dining experience. my husband and I were traveling from out of town and had this restaurant recommended by several people. both the food and service blew us away. Eric was our server and he was PHENOMENAL. the best service we have had in our entire lives. he gave amazing recommendations and was so attentive all evening. highly recommend the goat cheese shrimp and chicken involtine. they were our favorite dishes of the night. HUGE shoutout to Eric for being so amazing, the food was great but his service absolutely sold us on this restaurant. I will forever recommend this spot to anyone traveling to the area!

Google
We loved going to Mama Carolla’s but this visit was a little disappointing. The service was top notch and no complains there but I generally get the Ravioli and it was a little different this time. The calamari and chicken was good but I was disappointed to know they had no kids menu and the Tiramisu had so much chocolate sauce it was a big let down. It seems like a very American thing to put chocolate sauce on it but it totally spoiled the taste of an otherwise tasty tiramisu.

Yelp
Fantastic Chicken Marsalis. Service was definitely five star. Such a charming house and the patio/garden makes you think you are in Italy. Over all a five star restaurant with a home type feeling.

Yelp
Mama Carolla's is one of our absolute favorite Italian restaurants in Indianapolis! The atmosphere is warm, classic, and cozy--perfect for a special night out. We kicked things off with an Italian Margarita and a Vodka Gimlet, both refreshing and very reasonably priced at just $8. For appetizers, we couldn't resist the Fried Mozzarella--a perfectly crispy ball of cheesy goodness that disappeared in seconds. The house salad was light and flavorful, topped with their creamy Italian dressing. For entrées, I went with the Rosemary Chicken Lasagna, while my husband enjoyed the Manicotti. Both dishes were packed with incredible flavor and left us in full-on food coma mode (in the best way). I opted for a Cucumber Cooler as my second drink, and it ended up being my favorite--refreshing, crisp, and so light. We didn't have room for dessert this time, but I noticed several tempting options on the menu for next time. From drinks and food to the attentive service, it's a 10/10 experience every time. We usually save this spot for special occasions since Friday night reservations need to be made about two months in advance--but it's absolutely worth the wait. Hands down one of the best recommendations in the area!

Yelp
Mama Carolla's has such a charming, old-world atmosphere. It's a very cozy spot that is perfect for date night or family dinner. We started with the stuffed mushrooms, which I thought was okay. There was crab meat in it, but I didn't realize it had crab until my husband told me. For entrées, the Misto Mare was fresh and light with a mix of seafood that was satisfying. The chicken parm was exactly what you'd hope for - crispy, cheesy, and topped with lots of sauce. Everything came out hot and well-prepared. Service was friendly and attentive, but was also slow. This was expected as it was packed! We went on a Sunday evening and arrived around 5:15 with already a 45 minute wait if you wanted to eat inside. I think it would be hard to bring very small kids because of how packed it was inside. We enjoyed the intimate setting. The pacing of the meal allowed us to relax and enjoy the evening though. While everything was delicious, some of the flavors leaned more toward classic comfort than truly standout. Still, the experience as a whole made for a lovely evening.

Yelp
The place is adorable. Food is amazing. People are wonderful. Went for a birthday dinner for a friend and as always, loved the atmosphere. This place is quaint and small. Tried four appetizers, yep, ordered four! We tried the Bruschetta, the Calamari, Melon Prosciutto and the fried Raviolis. I highly recommend the Melon Prosciutto. My least favorite was the fried Raviolis (which I wanted to love). Dinner, two had two different veal recipes, I had a pasta with a side of meatballs. Overall, the meal was amazing, just do not get the fried Raviolis, unfortunately. The veal meals were both the best by far, so think about that choice if you are looking at ideas to think out of the box. PROS: Parking- plentiful but you have to pay Wonderful atmosphere Outdoor seating is the way to go, wonderful, even when hot Drinks are great Prices are medium, so affordable for a wonderful night out CONS: Parking- plentiful but you have to pay Small atmosphere inside so it can be loud

Yelp
We have visited the Mama multiple times, and always come away very impressed. Our favorite by far is the ambiance of the outdoor seating area. You feel like you are in a fancy area of Italy, but you are actually just right off the parking lot. Haha. There are free parking spots available further down closer to the strip mall and good morning mamas but it can be confusing. I normally get the chicken Alfredo and it is always very good. This time, I thought the serving was a little low for the cost of the meal, but the taste was not lacking at all. Sometimes chicken Alfredo can be a little salty at certain places, but I didn't get that from this one at all. The bread is soft and warm. The wait staff is always very nice and informative, and normally pretty quick. For a nice date night in the Indianapolis area, I would say this is up there with one of the best choices !

Yelp
My BF said we needed a date night since he's working 12 hour shifts Monday-Sunday so no days off...we been cooking a lot lately so he said he'd buy if I fly lol. Figured we'd try something new where he had never been. I've been here once for my 35th birthday so it's been a while. I knew it was the perfect place for a date night. Parking is a little tricky but we managed to find one in the lot over luckily. The moment we walked in we were greeted with smiles and asked if we wanted to sit inside or out, I let him choose. Opted for indoor seating. As soon as we sat down we had someone bring us water then we were greeted by Amanda who was our server. Such a lovely woman with a beautiful smile and very sweet demeanor. She told us the special of the evening and the description of seafood had me right then and there. My BF ordered the chicken piccata. We both had the salad with balsamic vinaigrette but mine with mozzarella and his with Gorgonzola. The complimentary bread and oil was amazing. We ordered some wine. It was Amanda's suggestion yet I don't recall exactly what one. Either was it was light and delicious. Not too dry not too sweet it was just right. Dinner was amazing! My seafood penne was absolutely amazing. Crab, lobster, and scallops with a lobster cream sauce of some sort sure was delightful. The chicken piccata was also very tasty. The capers, the lemon sauce and a whole lot of garlic on the angel hair pasta was delicious. Just when I thought we were done, my BF ordered us the creme brulee. After all what's a date night without dessert? The blackberry compote on top complimented this delectable dessert. Perfect ending to an extraordinary evening. Definitely coming back and he said next week so guess next week it is! Amanda suggested the mussels appetizer and my BF said that is on the list for the next visit.

Yelp
Delicious food and great service by Raymond. Charming atmosphere and location. Front host staff was slightly rude, especially as a first time visitor. It didn't dampen our spirits however!

Yelp
I tried this popular SoBro restaurant during Devour. There was a snafu during our wait to be seated, but they quickly corrected it once we made them aware. We were seated in the old house. The architecture is very Spanish with some Italian sprinkled in. For appetizers we tried the spicy meatballs and bruschetta. Both were good. My Pineapple Upside Down Cake cocktail was recommended by a table near us and did not disappoint. The main entree was creamy and flavorful. I parked next door at Good Morning Mamas. They are open 5:00pm - 9:30pm Tuesday- Saturday. Service was fast and friendly. There's a bar in the back in a heated patio. Extremely popular restaurant. Italian food done right.

Yelp
After living in Indy my entire life I finally made it to Mama Carrola's and WOW! The hype is real. We weren't able to make a reservation, but we were sat on the heated patio at 5:30 with no wait. Our server was very pleasant and informed us of the Devour menu which we took advantage of. All of the food was fresh and SO SO delicious. The decor and vibe there is amazing. Very homey. I can't wait to check out the rest of the rooms next time!

Yelp
This is one of my favorite restaurants in Indy! It's located in this old Italian-inspired home that is small but intimate. Our wait was about 1 hr for a table for 6 but it was a busy Friday night. Our server was accommodating and patient with us, through all of our ordering and food preferences. I ordered the sausage and peppers with penne pasta and marinara. It was delicious! I would recommend to anyone looking for a good family-style meal in Indy.

Yelp
This has been my favorite place to eat for almost 20 years. It started out being my son and I's favorite date place, now it's my husband and I's. The service, food and drinks are spectacular every single time. I recommend Mama's to everyone.

Yelp
My dad took me to Mama Carolla's tonight for dinner while I'm visiting him from out of town, and boy was this place delicious. The allure of this place doesn't stop at the food. The inside is adorable and we were taken to one of the rooms up the stairs, giving it an even cooler vibe. For dinner, I had the Mediterranean chicken pasta which was light yet flavorful. My dad had the chicken parm which he adored. Both of us took half home as the portions were huge. The entire staff was so accommodating and I never once had an empty water glass. 10/10 recommend this place for dinner. Make sure you have reservations though as it was packed when it opened. I totally understand why

Yelp
Food, service, ambience, everything you could wish for in an Italian restaurant. As authentic as it gets in Indianapolis for an affordable price! Great wine and cocktail selection, too!

T R.

Yelp
I'm giving them the benefit of the doubt because it's usually wonderful...for whatever reason, my Alfredo was very underwhelming, but the Bruschetta was great & service was good!
google avatar

Shane J.

Yelp
I've lived in Indy for close to fifteen years, off and on, so I've heard people rave about this place. I grew up in an Italian-American family on the east coast, so I'm pretty particular about Italian food. This is a place I'd bring my family when they visit. It's not pretentious, nor over-priced. The portions are more than enough, and the flavor is great! I had veal parmigiana and it was breaded perfectly, with the perfect amount of sauce and cheese. Every entree comes with a choice of soup or salad. The ambiance itself is awesome. We came on a reasonably-mild August night so we asked to sit outside. With cooling fans, it was the perfect evening. Do put your name on the waiting list online before you drive over. We did so and our table was ready just as we were parking.
google avatar

Elaine F.

Yelp
This Italian eatery gets better over time. The food is "magnifico". The chicken lasagna was amazing and very filling. If you are looking for authentic Italian flavors served with charm, this is the place!
google avatar

Donna F.

Yelp
Treated a friend who had never been there. It was a nice evening so we sat on the patio, which looks like a little piece of Italy. We were seated quickly, our server was great, and the food was delicious, as always.
google avatar

Staci L.

Yelp
We had absolutely great outdoor seating. My meal was excellent, however I was not a huge fan of the calamari or the Italian wedding soup but maybe that's just my taste. Our service was excellent and the prices were lower than expected Beautiful place to enjoy dinner

Yelp
Big BIG fan!!! We got into an accident on our way downtown (not our fault, some people find one way streets confusing) and instead of driving back to Carmel we stopped here on our way home to get some Italian comfort food & DAYUM we picked a good spot. Food: Outstanding. I got the super simple spaghetti & meatballs and it was the warm comforting hug I needed (ok, the Old Fashioned helped with that too). Hubs got the chicken mushroom lasagna and it absolutely slapped Service: I'm so mad at myself for not remembering our server, he rocked! If you see this, we were right by the front window after our car accident lol. I want to say Gary but I'm pretty sure that's wrong. Atmosphere: Just lovely! Multiple rooms and super cozy. Really well decorated. A little tighter in between tables but it honestly didn't bother me. Highly recommend!

Yelp
Classic Italian! I love Mama's. If you want nice, rustic Italian food ... this is the place! Located in S. Broadripple off of 54th Street, Mama's is quaintly decorated with fabulous service! Went with a group of seven last week and they treated us like royalty and we are a lot! I also love a waiter that tells you their favorites! I think we all ordered one of them. Highly recommend.
google avatar

Yelp
Mama Carolla's is an Indianapolis favorite. This restaurant has been around for years! They are so good you had better get there early or expect to wait for a long time to get a seat on a Saturday night. Walking into this restaurant is like visiting your Italian grandmothers home. It is warm and inviting with several tucked away areas for seating. Our server was wonderful and the food was absolutely delicious! My husband wanted the veal Parmigiana for his birthday and this is one of the few Italian restaurants that have this dish! I did think the presentation of the food could have been a bit better, but the taste was so good I let it go. I did also find it a bit tacky that they had tables in an outside heated tent. I get why they have to do this, because they are so popular, but I would not have wanted to sit out there. Neither one of these things would keep me from not coming back.
google avatar

Lindsey Y.

Yelp
Service and atmosphere is always excellent at Mama Corolla's! We sat outside along the Monon trail and it was a very nice night. We shared a carafe of the house Chianti which was very nice along with a warm, fresh bread loaf. Server was very nice and prompt- always filling up our water glasses and had great recommendations. The only somewhat negative was that the Alfredo noodles on the side of the steak dinner came out cold. Otherwise, everything was very good and the favorite was the chicken Parmesan. One newer thing to be mindful of is that the lot behind is owned by another company and is now charging $5 to park. There are signs, but you can still park at Good Morning Mama's and on the street for free, just a little less convenient and confusing, but it's out of their hands!
google avatar

Yelp
Mama Carolla's is one of my favorite places in Indy. I am SO IMPRESSED with the food everytime I come here. I usually don't have a reservation and show up right when they open. The service is always great and they are very attentive. The restaurant is in an old house and it is very intimate. Absolutely love it and highly recommend!!
google avatar

Megan B.

Yelp
Make a reservation in advance they get packed! Actually sat on the patio to be seated quicker. A super quaint and charming space. Excellent service. You can tell the servers enjoy and take pride in their job. Large menu. Flavorful food and tasty wine. Will return.

Yelp
Beautiful old house Great Service The food is amazing Love their garlic cheese bread and Italian wedding soup The best dessert is a the spumoni dark chocolate bomb
google avatar

Sai P.

Yelp
Came here for a celebration dinner and had a nice meal! The biggest draw for me was the rosemary chicken lasagna--I don't frequently see chicken or vegetable lasagnas on the menu, so I knew I had to try it--and it was delicious! The other items my family ordered tasted like good old standard pasta. Also, the room we were in did feel cramped (4 tables that seat 4 people per table, with each table pushed up against a corner--which would work well in a room that's slightly bigger), so I wasn't a huge fan of the atmosphere while dining. Service was okay. Overall, had a good meal :)
google avatar

Kate B.

Yelp
This place was amazing it was super romantic we waited over 40 minutes but it was worth it the food we could tell was homemade it wasn't super salty like Olive Garden we have found our new go-to date night place there is a lot of people but the smaller rooms make it feel very quaint the menu has a ton to order from their drink menu is incredible I would highly recommend a reservation
google avatar

Yelp
One of the best Italian date night spots My husband and I can always count on Mama's for great food and cozy, Italian vibes. We love this Broad Ripple house turned restaurant. They have a patio in the back and side of the restaurant and lots of rooms of seating inside. All entrees come with soup or a salad and the table gets complimentary bread. I always ask for some balsamic to pair with the olive oil on the table as a dipping sauce. For an app we get the bruschetta. We can't get enough of the crisp, buttery bread, fresh tomatoes, and smokey mozzarella. For dinner, my husband loves the Chicken Parm. The red sauce is sweet and the chicken portion is huge. I typically get the Chicken Piccata, but when we came for dinner they had a tortellini special at it. was. phenomenal. So creamy and so much flavor I wish this was a regular menu item because I would definitely add it to the rotation! No reservations (except on Valentine's Day) so be prepared to wait on their busy nights like Friday and Saturday. Can typically find street parking or space in their surface lots around the side/back.

Yelp
It must be said first that Mama is a Husker fan, so my Husker husband was so excited to come back again after our first visit. Though this was years ago, the only change we've noticed over time is that portions have become a bit smaller. Overall, absolutely incredible dishes, full stop. You can't go wrong with a single thing on the menu. When dining in, expect to feel like you're dining in an Italian home or its lush garden. Everyone we've met here is kind and attentive and truly there to provide an experience
google avatar

Joanna S.

Yelp
I can't believe it took a decade for me to visit Mama Carolla's. This place exceeded every expectation. The food was amazing, the staff was very attentive and patient (we were on time for our reservation, but it was a late in the evening reservation), and the atmosphere is great. Now that I know there is free parking a short walk away, that's also a great plus. I went as a group of 3; we got 3 appetizers, 3 entrees, drinks, and split a dessert and got coffees. There wasn't a single thing we got that I wouldn't recommend.
google avatar

Elizabeth S.

Yelp
Our absolute favorite place in town. In the summer the patio is the best place to eat but in the cold weather the place gets packed quickly. They have some outdoor seating with heaters but just no the same capacity. My favorite is chicken involtine. Always perfect. Husband often gets the special from fish to crab cakes. But his favorite is rigatoni rizzo style. More food that we can eat so always leftovers for lunch the next day. Service is amazing, friendly and timely, even when packed. Can't go wrong at Mama's
google avatar

Yelp
Food - I ordered the Italian Wedding Soup and the Roasted Rosemary Chicken. My boyfriend (now-fiancée) ordered the Italian Wedding Soup and the Veal Saltimbocca (Angel Hair). For dessert, we shared the Chris's Homemade Ricotta Cake with blackberries. Overall, I really enjoyed the food here. I loved my Italian Wedding Soup and Chicken. Unfortunately, I was disappointed with the cake. It was very dense. It had a cornbread like texture to it. I wish we had ordered something else instead of the ricotta cake. Service - Great service! We had dinner here on a Saturday night @ 7 pm. It was very busy, but we didn't have to wait for a table. If you come here with a party larger than two, you might not be so lucky with getting seated quickly. Ambiance - So beautiful! I love the aesthetic of this restaurant. It's very romantic. The perfect date night

Yelp
Madhouse. Noisy, crowded, ripoff parking charge. Food was barely average. Never, ever going back.

Yelp
Amazing food and the the service was extraordinary! The artichokes were phenomenal. Both the pastas we had were incredible as well! Thank you for a wonderful experience!

Yelp
We could hear Frank Sinatra singing his Italian inspired love songs as we walked through the outdoor seating area of Mama Carolla's. The award-winning restaurant is housed in a beautiful Mediterranean style home built in the 1920's on the south side of Broad Ripple. Lace covered tables are tucked in every corner of the house. We arrived early to get a table, there was a line of patrons waiting for 5:00. They do not take reservations except for larger parties. The entire staff is welcoming, super friendly and attentive. I couldn't help but be a little excited as we were ushered to our little bistro style table by a front window. Amanda, our server was efficient. I selected a Malbec wine and my husband had a craft beer. They were promoting the Devour Indy menu, consisting of a fixed-priced, 3-course menu for two. We shared an order of the Fried Calamari. The generous portion of calamari is lightly breaded and tender. It is served with an aioli sauce and lemon wedge. Small salads are included with the meal with a choice of Italian dressings. The salads are served with the most wonderful, hot, fresh Italian bread. The bread has a beautiful chewy crust. Olive oil is on every table for dipping. The Shrimp Scampi was delicious. There were 6 large shrimp covered in a dreamy lemon, garlic, butter sauce. A small, but perfect, portion of pasta was served on the side. My husband had the Mediterranean Pasta, which contained a huge portion of pasta with strips of chicken, roasted tomato, spinach and pine nuts. It was very good, too. Mama's is a great place to go on date night or with a small group. The prices have stayed reasonable, the food is delicious and service is great.

Yelp
Oh what a delicious dinner here!! It's located in Broad Ripple in the Meridian Kessler neighborhood. It was built in the 1920's in a California stucco design. It's a charming restaurant inside! Fireplace, wrought iron, wood floors it has so much character to it. The waitress we had was as nice as nice can be. She was very efficient and prompt. For being that busy I appreciate that! If you go get the Italian margarita!! I haven't had a drink that tasted so good in a while!! Grand Marnier amaretto, and sour mix is what I think she said was in it. They had Italian Wedding soup or a Caesar salad, house salad to choose from as part of your meal. The Caesar salad was very good! The warm bread was so good with paired with the olive oil. The chicken Parmesan should be an example of how to make it right. The pasta with the tomato sauce and the breaded chicken with mozzarella was perfect! I would definitely order that again! This is a great Italian restaurant if you're ever thinking of a good pastas for dinner. This would be one of my go to places!!
google avatar

Yelp
Let's talk about perfection. This was the best lasagna I have ever had. The sauce is sweeter, the ricotta is fluffy and tangy, and the orange slice adds a perfect sweet acidity to the side if you use it as more than garnish. Our server was very friendly and attentive, making sure we would be happiest with what we ordered. And you cannot beat the ambiance. You essentially step into a Roman villa to have an intimate meal with your family.

Yelp
It's mama carollas. I shouldn't need to explain why this place is good. If you have not had it before it's a must try if you're in the area.

Yelp
I went for my birthday celebration many years ago and was seated in the outdoor garden area. I love it here!

Yelp
It was my sister's birthday and all I can say is "kiss the chef"! It was a wonderful meal. There was an impeccable level of service. There was a serene and peaceful atmosphere in the restaurant. The temperature was 70 degrees when we ate there. Let's take a look at this food. Let us begin with the bread and oil. You can tell that it is freshly baked every day because it melts in your mouth. Each and every meal It is served with soup or salad and bread. My sister's traditional lasagna had no end to its taste. Cheese stretched from coast to coast. My mother enjoyed the chicken lasagna. There were no complaints about the garlic angel hair pasta with shrimp scampi. The last but not least was shrimp fettuccine made with fresh homemade pasta they were a little skimpy with shrimp but it was good . Looking forward to returning soon.

Yelp
Food is good, but the vibes are better! If you're looking for a great date night spot - this is it. Cozy and romantic, this old house turned restaurant has it all! Great food, great service, great cocktails. We went in during the last few days of Savor, so the wait was LONG, but well worth it. We happily waited. We started with the fried ravioli. It has a lot of crust, so if you don't love batter, this probably isn't for you. Then I had the chicken piccata. SO good! The lemon sauce wasn't too lemony and the portion was huge. Our server was talkative and actually took her time at our table, which I appreciated. This was my first time in, but I'll definitely be returning!

Yelp
This is a go-to for so many occasions. And that chicken rigatoni is the BEST. It can also be a great destination for a nice glass of wine and bruschetta. This post is making me hungry.

Yelp
Cutie little spot nestled on the monon trail. We visited for our anniversary and sat upstairs, I would have loved to sit on the patio but it was about to rain. We got seated quickly, we had a reservation. They were friendly and mentioned our anniversary. Our waitress was really sweet, started with the fresh mozzarella which was yum and a cocktail. Bread and oil served was soft and the herbs in the oil were nice. I ordered the chicken Parmesan which was huge! I had leftovers, my fiancé ordered the carbonara which was he said was really flavorful. The ambiance was really cute and I would definitely go back.

Yelp
Mama Carolla's quite literally be my favorite restaurant in Indianapolis. I've been going here since I moved to Indy and the quality of food stays excellent along with the service. No matter how long we have to wait, the service is always quick and very attentive. My faves? The lemon drop martini, caesar salad WITH anchovies and the shrimp scampi.

Yelp
Mama has a beautiful little spot right off the Monon Trail south of Broad Ripple. The building is not very big so reservations are a good idea. Its popular and space is limited. Service is fantastic. You never get half way through your water without it being refilled. I think they have someone whose full time job is refilling water =) I went with the Chicken Rigatoni Rizzo Style which included a sliced up Italian Sausage in the mix too. Really good al dente pasta in a mildy spicy sauce. Yummy. Dessert was a little underwhelming. Ricotta cake was simply ok and not worth the $9 they were charging. But overall a great experience. Looking forward to going again and trying other entrees.

Yelp
Best bolognese I have ever had! The sauce was so creamy, reminding me of vodka sauce. It was the perfect portion. Bread and oil is served with your salad and soup before your entree. The Italian margarita was also yummy - it had amaretto in it. The restaurant is very nice on the inside and our server was great. I can see why you have to make a reservation to get in!

Yelp
The food and service was outstanding. We are from New Jersey and are very critical of Italian food outside of the northeast area! The food was excellent! We were seated in an upstairs room which was comfortable and the noise level low. A must try! Worth a repeat visit.

Yelp
This was my first time at Mama Carolla's and I absolutely LOVED it! The restaurant itself has so much character and charm. The roses were in bloom outside and smelled so good as you walked up. It was hard to decide what to get because everything on the menu sounded really good. My friend and I shared Holly's Artichoke Fritters as an appetizer - sooo good! We both had the wedding soup and it was delicious. My friend had the shrimp scampi and loved it. I had the special of the night and it was good, too! We both definitely want to come back and bring our husbands.
