Cart serving coffee, bagels, omelets, donuts, sandwiches, and Greek eats, including vegan options.
"BECs just taste better when Mama Jo makes them. For over 30 years, the Greek matriarch has been serving everything from eggs and wraps to homemade spanakopita and prossopita stuffed with vegetables from her own garden. Nothing costs more than $8, and vegan options are also available. She opens at 4am, and a long line of bankers and lawyers forms around 7:30. But once you’ve decided to become a regular (you will), ask for her number and you can text her pre-orders. " - neha talreja, bryan kim, hannah albertine
"Mama Jo has been serving eggs and spanakopita on the corner of 47th and Park for more than 30 years. Shortly after she opens her Greek-ish breakfast cart at 4am, early workers get first dibs on everything from donuts and BECs to homemade olive bread and prossopita, stuffed with vegetables from Jo's own garden. (Vegan options are also available.) By 7:30am, a long line of bankers, lawyers, and execs fills in—and all the regulars have also called in their orders. Expect to wait 15-20 minutes, or just go when the rush is over, sometime before she closes at 11am. photo credit: Kate Previte" - Neha Talreja
