NYC’s New Restaurant Openings - New York - The Infatuation

"There’s a sweet taste of the Green Mountain State at Maple Creamery in Crown Heights. Anyone who has been to Vermont in the summer knows that a maple creemee, made with real maple syrup, is an essential sweet treat. This spot makes vegan ice cream, dotted with real maple syrup, as well as a few other flavors." - will hartman, willa moore, molly fitzpatrick, sonal shah, bryan kim

Maple Creamery, New Brooklyn Ice Cream Shop, Opens With Maple Ice Cream | Eater NY

"Fans of Vermont maple creemees will find a similarly styled dessert here, where the menu is full of vegan ice creams made with maple syrup and vegan baked goods like cookies and cakes. Co-founders Collin Whyte and Bailey Rollins say the soil from the Vermont property where they source their maple — running since the 1800s — “gives the syrup a unique taste of butterscotch,” and flavors include matcha lemonade, strawberry shortcake, and, yes, maple. It opened in Crown Heights at 653 Sterling Place, near Franklin Avenue, on Saturday, July 26." - Nadia Chaudhury

If you are in Crown Heights Brooklyn please stop by Maple Creamery for delicious orgainc ice cream. The ice cream flavors are amazing. All natural organic alkaline vegan ingredients. Lactose free Plant based The owner Colin is super friendly, attentive and professional. His workers were professional and hard-working. Great customer service!! Best flavors: pistachio maple, strawberry, key lime pie, and naughty by nature. The ice cream is creamy and bursting with flavor. Right amount of sweetness. Just perfect. Healthy dessert 🍨 Place is well lit and maintained perfectly. Place to sit and enjoy your ice cream. It's in a traffic area so parking is a bit challenging. Support Minority Owned Businesses 👏🏾 Definitely recommend this place 👌🏾

Google
The ice-cream selections are brilliant. Smooth, rich, and the consistency was decadent! The atmosphere had a chill vibe, a nice amount of seating inside. Also a cozy bench for 4 outside under a Oak tree. I had multiple shares of ice-cream while I waited for my friend Autumn. The owner was pleasant, allowed me to use the bathroom, and discussed his future themes for new flavors. Wouldn't a strawberry basil lemon ice-cream hit the spot? Can't wait to see! This place is a hidden gem.

Google
I live in the area, and a friend suggested I check this place out and I’m so glad I did! This is honestly the best ice cream I’ve had in a long time. The flavors are rich and creamy, and you can tell they use quality ingredients. The staff is friendly, the shop is clean, and the portions are generous. If you’re anywhere near the neighborhood, you absolutely have to stop by!!!

Google
So grateful we have this in the neighborhood. Simple, natural flavors without any cane sugar (all maple syrup!). Love all the flavors: matcha lemongrass, key lime, strawberry, maple pecan, ALL so good. Collin the owner is so kind and can feel his passion for it, ask him about the vanilla bean process!

Google
Amazing place for an ice cream snack that is actually healthy!!! I took 8 of my nieces and nephews along with my own kids and they absolutely loved it. Not to mention the grown ups :-). Portion sizes are very generous and the owner is super friendly. Give it a try if you’re in the downtown BK area you won’t regret it!!

Google
Wow I’m so impressed! The chocolate and key lime pie were out of this world. The texture was super creamy and I would’ve never in a million years guessed it was alkaline vegan. I’m a bit confused by the reviews thinking it’s over priced - I don’t know of a single ice cream shop in this area where it costs less than $7 for a couple scoops. Especially considering most of those shops are using lower quality ingredients. Will definitely be back very soon!

Google
Small neighborhood ice cream place Stopped by after a late lunch, and I will be back for sure. I sampled a couple flavors but got a double scoop of the Hazel & Joe - coffee with chocolate covered hazelnuts This is my favorite ice cream right now and I will be back to see if it holds up over multiple visits For now - definitely go check them out

Google
awesome flavors, and perfect location right off Franklin Ave. We got 3 single scoops (vanilla, maple and a cookies type flavor) and they were all amazing, tasted super natural and not as expensive as I expected. They also had cookies and syrup for sale. The staff was really kind. I want to come back every day.

Yelp
Everything went well! Love me some vegan ice cream spot all day, everyday. Met the owner, nice fellow. Staff were friendly and pleasant. Will visit when in the neighborhood. Visited from a TikTok video and was not disappointed! Nice cool spot! Check them out! This is a late entry since the summertime! *Didn't finish my review lol*

Yelp
I am rooting for this place!! All the way from MD I heard about it a couple months ago and I told my sister we'd have to try when I returned to the city. I kid you not... I went three days in a row for a treat LOL. This is a Black-owned vegan ice cream (and cookie) joint. All of the ice creams are coconut-based, and flavors include Madagascar vanilla bean, chocolate, key lime custard pie, cookies & creme, and so many more. They're very generous about their samples, and they offer silver tasting spoons... so much washing, sheesh! They also sell maple syrup in two sizes, and that's because literally everything is sweetened with maple. No direct sugar either?! Seriously, what a treat. And another thing I love about it is one scoop is only $4.99 -- for a vegan spot that's incredible. Now, mind you, it's not a giant Coldstone scoop, but it just feels better than paying the $7+ I'm used to seeing. They don't have toppings yet, but the ice cream is a treat on its own. Now as for the cookies... they had 4 different kinds when I went: Chocolate chip - I didn't get to try this one (and on my final visit it was sold out), but my sister was obsessed Vanilla sugar - my older niece was obsessed, and I tried it and really enjoyed too Maple pecan walnut - Not a pecan or walnut person, but the base cookie is so good it doesn't even matter. Wow. Double chocolate - by far my favorite. The chocolate with the slight sweetness of the maple was such a hit I could've had 14. I cannot wait to return to the city and see what new creative flavors they have. I'm invested.

Yelp
I was in the neighborhood and wanted to try this spot out. Didn't realize it was vegan until after the fact. They were really generous in letting us try samples. I tried the vanilla, the day dream, and a few others and ultimately went the vanilla bean and cookies and cream. Really friendly and kind service and reasonably priced.

Yelp
Fantastic flavors in a small store in Prospect Heights. They don't advertise it but their "Ice Cream" is made with coconut milk/cream and sweetened with (of course) Maple, which is great for me. Try the Hazel and Joe, Yuzu, or Pistachio as they'll light up your taste buds. Maybe a cookie too?

Yelp
I've been meaning. To come here with every since I moved from Brooklyn, getting to deeper into the borough takes a little more effort. My friend and I came here after lunch on a Wednesday and it was pretty quiet, the nice counter gent explained all the different flavors, so we tried quite a few. Lrt it be know..... They all taste amazing. I ended up going with 2 scoops (they are small) 1 jamrock the other Hazel & Joe. Sensational combination Two days later, a friend craving ice cream went to a place and was disappointed, so back to Maple Creamery ftw!!!! This time a super nice gent at the register even chatted us up on the love and natural ingredients in each batch (i still didnt guess one of their key ones, lol). See you guys again soon!

Yelp
They offer delicious flavors. You can really taste the quality of the ice cream. Also, the owner was really kind and was passionate about the business. You can sample flavors while you're there too!

Yelp
Stopped in while in the area to try the ice cream. Was so happy to find a place with a variety of dairy free ice cream. They have a bunch of fun flavors.

Yelp
The ice cream is vegan, which I want to like. But something about their formulation, i experienced a weird after taste, and it didn't have an enjoyable consistency. I ended up throwing away my scoop

Yelp
I didn't even realized this was plant based and no dairy because the ice cream was creamy and rich. I had the French toast flavor while my mom did chocolate. The French toast treated like vanilla with cinnamon which was good for me since it tasted simple. The chocolate ice cream was definitely rich in flavor and really chocolate-y. I definitely have plans to come back and try other flavors

Yelp
This little ice cream store is SO cute, caught my eye as i was strolling around the neighborhood! The ice cream itself is CREAMY, not too sweet, and flavors are fun & interesting!! Everything is sweetened with maple syrup, so YUM. The servers are super friendly and the menu is affordable!! I liked the portion sizes as they didn't make me feel ill after eating dessert LOL. The cookies (vanilla & chocolate) are delicious as well - soft, crumbly, not too sweet. They have a small seating area on the side for a couple friends. The store is spacious to hangout in as well.

Yelp
Woah, did I just have a deliscigasm from some local handmade vegan ice cream that didn't cost me a car payment!! Heavy hitting new creamery right off Franklin Ave bringing some AMAZING flavor to the neighborhood in the height of the summer. Couldn't be any better. Tired of walking to Washington for a $8 scoop of 2 vegan options... ($4 /scoop here) Maple Creamery had a whole spread and the best part is you'd never know it wasn't made with milk or eggs unless you asked! The owner Collin (sp?) started experimenting with making his own desserts after getting these 'ice cream hangovers' from too much dairy, cane sugars and other products. Perfecting his craft and sharing it with friends encouraged him to get a full blown store. And I couldn't be more grateful The secret is coconut cream.. a natural thick and tasty byproduct of just one thing... coconuts. This is what I'm talking about, this is what vegan should be, plants first and bringing their beauty to new heights. Love the ethos and story behind this place. I tried a scoop of the strawberry and pistachio. Creamy, sweet (but not too sugary like syrup), so much flavor and texture. I've never had vegan ice cream like this or even dairy ice cream. And my grandfather has a creamery when I was a baby! The store is pretty small so not much sit down options but there are shade trees nearby and a huge sidewalk to hang on. Amazing work and persistence to the team, they definitely went through some trials to open this venue. It was empty for so long and now it's time to shine. Congrats! And I will definitely be back!!

Yelp
I truly recommend this dessert/ice-cream spot. Great customer service and delicious clean ingredient ice cream. Perfect for people who are want to indulge themselves but know you are eating something with good Whole Food ingredients. I will be visiting often

Yelp
I was there Sunday evening. The product is good , the space is clean, I parked noy too far from the place. It's a nice neighborhood so you may have to go atound the block but its not impossible. The price was reasonable. The problem was the customer service. The young lady who was working that day was disinterested. After serving us I put my head down to put my credit card in my purse. I looked up she was already on her phone. When I asked for my receipt she looked like I was bothering for asking for one. The machine was out of paper so it never printed. She literally never said a word. She just touched and moved things slowly. I ended up leaving without my receipt.

Yelp
As dreamy as it looks is as dreamy as it taste! What an Experience! I have had the pleasure to enjoy Maple a few times and the service, care, and joy this place brings me never fails. The ice cream gives comfort without guilt! The Yuzu is a citrus, tangy, creamy smooth, delectable literal statement of the word ice CREAM! Along with the Vanilla cookie which is thick, crispy sides, and bottom with a soft bite, and a perfect balance of vanilla bean. The combinations are perfection at its finest! Spectacular Imma need 14 of them RIGHT NOW! All that to say GO...TODAY. You won't be disappointed

Yelp
dairy & cane sugar free ice cream... how could it be that good?!?!? double scoop and a cookie FTW.

Wanda J.

Yelp
They gave us tasters of the different ice cream the customer was great. People hung outside enjoying their ice cream giving their recommendations. They have vegan cookies as well. The code is what I would recommend.

Yelp
Best ice cream in NYC!!! I had strawberry, vanilla and key lime... will be back. Alkaline plant based wow that's amazing.

Karl B S.

Yelp
i was blown away by the decadence, richness and smooth flavour of the chocolate ice cream... coconut never tasted better. the staff are super friendly, and we got the warmest welcome from Colin, one of the owners. i'm turned off by huge servings that leave me feeling guilty. one scoop and i savor it as fine truffles. no after sadness. the cute bench inside is fun for people watching through the large front window. we'll be back many times before summer is over.
