Marina Cafe Restaurant & Tiki Bar

What a nice atmosphere for a birthday dinner. While we sat indoors because of the rain, they have an outdoor tiki bar area if the weather is nice. Food was delicious. Staff as friendly and attentive. The only negative was the staff they sent around taking photos of each table. It cheapened the dining experience. What we thought would be one photo turned into 10+ photos of our table. Eventually he comes back with all of these photos in frames (poor quality photos) trying to sell them for $20 a photo😳. My cell phone takes better photos.

I recently visited Marina Cafe to celebrate a good friend's birthday, and overall, it was a delightful experience with a few quirks. First off, the ambiance is beautiful—perfect for a special occasion. We were seated by a window with a great view, although the rainy weather kept us from taking too many photos there. Instead, we made the most of the lovely blue background in the lobby, thanks to our waiter, Largo (or something that started with an L). He had a charming smile, very distinct ears, and was a true gentleman. He even turned into our impromptu photographer, capturing some great moments! However, I have to mention that the service was on the slower side. My friend and I were having such a blast laughing and giggling that we didn’t mind too much. But had I been with anyone else, I might have been eyeing the kitchen entrance wondering, "Where is my food?" Despite telling Largo it was my friend's birthday, there was no special birthday treat—no scoop of ice cream, nothing—which was a bit disappointing considering I spent $92 for lunch. The food itself was delicious but be prepared to season it yourself. If you're a fan of salt-free dishes or watching your blood pressure, this is definitely the place for you! Special shoutout to Marie, who greeted us upon arrival. Despite me being late for our reservation, she was incredibly accommodating, seating us immediately and bringing loads of fun and personality to our visit. In summary, Marina Cafe is a lovely spot for a leisurely meal with someone special. Just don’t come too hungry (or hangry) because you might find yourself waiting a while for your food. But with great company and a bit of patience, you’re sure to have a good time. I'll definitely be back!

Can't beat the view, right on the water. Indoor & outdoor seating. Spacious, tall ceilings, lots of tables, delicious food (cheesecake👌🤗)

Excellent views of Great Kills Harbor while dining. Food was excellent. Mozzarella coins, sausage and bean soup and fried cauliflower were very tasty appetizers. Fish tacos, grilled chicken and broccoli rabe sandwich and the marina cafe signature burger were enjoyed by all. First time having lunch here, but the lunch menu is just as good as the diner offerings. I would recommend Marina Cafe to friends and family for sure.

It’s a shame that the service ruined the excellent food and decor of the place. I guess our table of 6 was running late on a Friday night, and by 10:15pm they wanted us to leave. We had to ask for another round of drinks and asked for a dessert menu. The waiters response was “oh, you want dessert?” The waiter seem to just wanted us to leave. It’s 10:15 on a Friday night! They could have just come over and told us the kitchen was closing.

I have been to this restaurant several times with family and friends and I can’t get enough of it. Eddie is the manager of this restaurant who is so awesome, accommodating, friendly, and attentive. All of the waiters are all great. The ambience has a great scenic view of the water front, the drinks are nice and strong the way I love it, food is fresh, seasoned and delicious, the service is fabulous and the overall environment is relaxing and comforting. The price range for meals is reasonable especially with the cost of seafood today. Parking is not hard to find whether your parking in the actual lot or off the street. For party size great than 3, I would definitely suggest making a reservations for meal times after 5 pm. Prior to that you could walk in and be seated with a table.

Gave 2 stars because the dj was phenomenal and the place is cute (tiki part) otherwise you'd get a minus 0 . I'm almost convinced they don't have a chef on premises and the kids that serve you make the food in the back , that's how awful the food is Like Beyond awful even things you'd say to yourself " they can't possibly mess this dish up" guess what inedible!! The drinks were horrible too (the ones that were brought to our table - can't judge the ones that are made at the bar. That's also the reason the crowd is in the early 20s because they don't really care about quality at that age. This place could make more money with a more spendable crowd if they only got an actual chef ! We might try 1 more time when the same dj is playing but we most definitely won't eat & keep the drinks as basic as possible

I feel like the picture speaks for itself. I asked for ketchup on the side not on top!!! When I asked for an explanation or if the waiter was okay he threw ketchup ON ME. NO LETTUCE EITHER

This food was absolutely delicious!!! My first time at the marina cafe outdoor seating tiki bar. Everything I ate was absolutely delicious. The eggroll appetizer was absolutely delicious but it was disappointing that it was just one for $14. I thought it would have been at least 2 or maybe 3 at most. Thats pretty expensive for an appetizer. But it was absolutely delicious. The fried calamari was so good and it was served with marinara sauce and chipotle aoli sauce which was out of this world!!!! The cheeseburgers were a HUGE portion and were absolutely flavorful. We came on a Friday night and it was a 45 min wait but it was well worth it. The views from the table were unbelievable. We loved the ocean view and boat view and we were able to watch the sunset while eating. I do have to say if you a person with a wide structured body the chairs are a bit tight and uncomfortable. Our waitress Sammy was amazing and was working so hard!!! Thank you so much!!!

Very nice place. Their happy hour menu is great. The barmaid was very attentive and there were a few people at the bar. The food here is great and the wait staff is very nice. You don't have to wait for a table during the week. The price is right and parking is also good. Check them out!

This is such a great date spot! They welcomed us with bread, crackers and butter. I enjoyed the rack of lamb cooked medium (to perfection). This entree included brussel sprouts and mashed potatoes. I enjoyed both sides. The crab cakes were meh - I wish they were warm. They were brought to my table room temperature. The crumb brûlée was so good (although I have yet to have a bad crumb brûlée)! Our drinks were okay - nothing to boast about but the customer service provided by Benny was exceptional. Thanks Benny!

We had our baby shower here and it was outstanding! So we decided to try the dinner. It was a little pricey but the food was delicious! We ate outside with the nice view, waitress was very attentive. No real complaints on the food here. We started with the rice balls (with hiney) and the crab cakes. They were fresh and hot. (We sat outside) Spaghetti in foil with seafood was great and the presentation guaranteed it was fresh (server brought it in foil and served it onto the plate). Lamb chops were delicious. They were cooked to perfection. I'm still in shock the food was as good as it was, because most places with nice views, don't have the best food. Just if any complaint at all, litttttttle steep but unfortunately the new norm!

I highly recommend the lunch specials at the Marina Cafe on Mansion Avenue. The restaurant has a sophisticated, but not stuffy, atmosphere and great views of the bay. The staff is knowledgeable about every item on the menu, very attentive and totally professional. I happened to choose Chef Emelio's short ribs at the last moment after staring jealously at another diner's overstuffed steak sandwich. Someone with great skills prepared not only a stunningly delicious meal, but one that was beautiful down to the last frizzled onion. Take your spouse, friends and business clients.

Called ahead for reservations for 4 people, was told we didn't need one. Once we got there, we were miss informed as then advised we should have made a reservation. After a heated conversation, we got our seats, but it should not have be that way. Once seated and the food came to the table we ordered some seafood dishes it was fair a bit over cooked on the lobster. But the shrimps and clams was good. The Atlantic salmon could have been better, however the crispy-ness and seasoning was good. The seafood risotto wasn't bad, the rice was over boiled. The shrimp and spaghetti was actually good. Enjoyed a bottle of white wine from Napa Vally with the food & for desert chocolate cake & ice-cream cappuccino which was also good. The area being in dock-style indoor and outdoor ambiance, providing well staffed and for large or small guest. Best seats are by the windows when inside or by the dock when outside. A bit louder the usually outside and more quite inside. Tables are close by so don't be alarmed when you over hear conversations.

The food was mediocre. The service was okay, could've been a little better. My family went out for a birthday dinner one saturday. We made a reservation but were running slightly late, so we called to let them know. Their response was "that's no problem we are running behind as well". We arrived and they had us waiting another HOUR. I asked multiple times and the hostess just continued to say a few more minutes. I would have understood if they were honest with me. The ambiance was the only satisfying thing about my experience.

Came here with a group of friends for a birthday and boy are we glad we did. There is valet parking or you can park yourself. We did have a reservation, they brought the best bread with even better spread. We started off with some sangria and a variety of apps which were all out of this world! My favorite was the rice balls and calamari! We all had different entrees, I had the seafood risotto, this had to be the best risotto I have eaten. Each bite had some type of seafood and the balance of cheese could of not been more perfect. We finished off with the drunken bananas for dessert and that perfect as well. Service was on point as well. We finished out the night with a couple shots at the TikI Bar outside! We definitely had a great night. Will definitely be back!!!

Came to their Tiki Bar since it was a gorgeous day! It was so nice to sit outside and have such a beautiful view of the water and boats. We lucked out since we had no reservations and they were pretty full! We all enjoyed our food choices. Neptune salad- It came with two pieces of shrimp, two scallops and grilled salmon. It came on a bed of salad and in a crispy bowl. The fish was fresh and the salad was really good with the dressing they used. I also enjoyed their crispy bowl too! Coconut sangria- very good and different! Fish tacos and an order of fries Pan-seared tuna salad Italian Egg-rolls Everything was really delicious!

Looks can be deceiving... cool feel and ambiance, but not what I expected. This high-end restaurant is located on the marina for some cool views of the water. Also located next to a cool outdoor bar for those summer nights of fun in the dark night. When I walked in I thought this would live up to it's looks. Even the digital menu with pictures of all the dishes made me excited and got me very hungry... but, I was not pleased with any of my dishes. I really thought the food wasn't anything spectacular and did not leave me wow'd... expect for the bill. That left me very wow'd! The staff was attentive and accommodating. The parking is right along the road which can get packed at those dinner times.

A great spot to go on a spring/summer evening. Delicious summer salad and calamari as well as the surf and turf salad my friend enjoyed. Great vibes with lots of people. Will be back soon :)

I had dinner last Saturday night at the Marina Cafe . The food and service was perfect . It's a very nice place to take a date to .

The tiki bar is horrifying..People are smoking/ vaping & blowing smoke in your face..You go for a decent burger & fries yet people are exhaling smoke on you

Very friendly staff the manager there is always super friendly and excellent. I would highly recommend going there for a nice lunch on a good day to sit outside and enjoy the sun and have a drink. The pizzettes are delicious. Fun to just have appetizers and enjoy time with family or friends. Sometimes you have to wait a little for a table but it's definitely worth it!

The Marina Cafe recently hosted our family repass luncheon for 35 people. The service was excellent. The manager and staff were very attentive. The food was fresh and delicious. The location was perfect and relaxing for a family gathering.

I have had great times here with my girl-friend for the realtor mixers. She loves the food and the outdoors. I also had a gift card and had fun with my family for lunch here.

Favorite for wife and I on the island. Food is great, rice balls, fried calamari, pork chops, pasta and I can go on and on. Haven't had a bad meal there yet and don't think it's gonna happen. Staff and ambiance is amazing. Whether it's a romantic night out or dinner with the family Marina is a great spot for all.

Love this restaurant. Normally go for dinner but went the other day for lunch. Was I. The mood to just eat raw seafood since I was going out to dinner that evening. Had oysters on the half shell. Clams in the half shell and shrimp cocktail which were colossal. Enjoyed a Cesar salad along with it and the best cucumber martinis on the Island. Beautiful decor and great service. U won't be sorry!

The food is not cheap but it's in a great location. They also give you a good portion as well. We got the grilled octopus app and the ahi tuna steak entree. The grilled octopus came sliced with a salad in a separate container with some dressings (this was to go) and tuna was packed sitting on some greens with some cold noodles in the container as well. Not bad!

The family spent Thanksgiving dinner at Marina Cafe. In the past, I have been very satisfied with the food,ambience and service. Unfortunately,I cannot say the same for Thanksgiving. The food was not hot, the shrimp dish had more bread stuffing than seafood. The other dishes did not rank much higher. Our family will never come again for any holiday dinner.

Came here on 11/22/21, was a nice pleasant day out so my family came here to eat. Not a single employee wore a mask, and no employee practiced any sort of social distancing protocol. Also, I noticed my card is always magically tipped "extra". Went based on positive reviews. Super dissapointed they were considered best on slive. The risotto dish was made poorly, with clumpy undercooked unseasoned rice and chewy seafood. The lobster bisque was soapy tasting, you know pink not red and smooth. And they even managed to mess up a basic linguini (garlic oil) dish. So disappointed, food was so unsavory, wish I didn't waste my dinner there. Place is pretty, hope they can improve the quality of their food. I personally dont care for this place. It is over priced with food that is bland and chicken dishes that are barely ever cooked through. Be careful when you use your card at Marina Cafe The Waitresses like to tip themselves more then what your bill was!

We came here with friends after a funeral and as usual the food was wonderful. There was like 4 courses and to bring we had clams on the half shell, shrimps , rolatini . Garlic bread on the side . Pasta round had a great sauce and the sliced steak was a good change from chicken dishes and a fish to choose from. Finished with cake and coffee. Worth a trip down to the waterfront.

Just wait a little longer for the meal, everything else is perfect I hope that the positioning of sitting out to eat can be changed to the telephone reservation mode...!

Went here for dinner last night with family. Very very pretty restaurant. Service was very good and they have a very nice menu with a lot of options to choose from. The baked clams and fried calamari as appetizers were really good. The Bronzino fish and Bara Mundi fish for main course were very tasty as well as the pasta with the Bolognese sauce and the lobster bisque soup. Finished off with two very nice desserts and cappuccino.

I am so torn on what to rate Marina Cafe. The positive: Despite low expectations, the food was actually really good!! We got the seafood sliders (forget what they were called exactly), crab cake, and shrimp tacos. The shrimp tacos were ok but everything else was really really good. The drinks were strong but tasty. The view: this is what you're really here for. Gorgeous marina and sunset views, no photos do it justice. The staff and fellow patrons: friendly, helpful, and fun. Make conversation with you and are having a good time. Here's where the 1 star experience comes in: COVID-19 and staff aren't wearing masks? The man who greeted us was not wearing a mask, or any facial covering. Our waitress was wearing a very small face/chin guard, no chance it was that effective. I question if menus are getting wiped down between customers (they're most likely not). There were covid violations left and right. Come on, how hard is it to ask and enforce that all staff wear a mask? If it wasn't covid I'd give this establishment 5 stars, but at this point I think 3 will suffice. Hopefully they get it together sooner rather than later. Also note: this place had their liquor license suspended due to covid violations. If you plan to come here for drinks I recommend calling first to see if they had their license reinstated.

Made reservations for a Saturday, we had lunch. Place is very nice and clean. Hostess and wait staff were all friendly and attentive. The view was nice, it was cloudy that day but it was still nice out. We ordered some appetizers and rice balls, marina's signature egg roll, grilled octopus and fresh mozzarella and tomato in balsamic dressing.The main lunch entrees were angus burger , chicken Marsala, white clam pizzette, clams with linguine. Everything was good the rice ball was ok because it had a touch of honey which I'm not used to when eating rice balls. Would definitely come again.

Food is always fresh and of the highest quality. The vodka sauce and chicken Francese are the best !

Wow Where to begin ??? A wonderful host walked us to our window seat View of the water Great Kills Harbor So Beautiful THEN the food -No pics because we were so mesmerized we forgot we YELP! Everything was beyond delicious Our waiter Bennie just the right side of attentive without being intrusive -Yay! What a great Lunch

Very beautiful restaurant right on the water in Staten Island, they have valet parking, which is great, reservations are recommended and I can see why, this place gets very packed! Lots of people celebrating birthdays, graduations, etc. our waiter Benny was very attentive, nice, and personable. The food was delicious, we started off with shrimp, baked clams, and potato crusted crab cakes, all delicious and very filling, thankfully my entree was very light, which was the Chilean sea bass, very flavorful, light, and came with a rice side. The dessert options looked amazing, as each table was getting some, unfortunately I was way too full, but next time I will order less. The peach sangria was delicious & refreshing. They do have a tiki bar outdoor seating, with a bar type menu which I will try on another occasion for lunch.

I was in search for a waterside restaurant in Staten Island. Then, I came across this place on Google. The views are beautiful, especially when there's daylight. Make sure to make a reservation prior to arriving as the place quickly fills up. Ordered the sangria pitcher, definitely a bang for your buck. Started off with a order of calamari and crab cake. Followed by the soup du jour, which wasn't bad. Finally for the main, I got the Atlantic Salmon. The salmon was flavored well and sat on top of a creamy risotto. Overall, it was a nice place. The views were beautiful and the food was delicious.

I went during Covid on a Sunday. The restaurant was absolutely full. However the food was subpar, service was okay no colints there. I has the chicken parm, my mom had the blackened Mahi-mahi. Chicken parm was okay a but dry lacked flavor. Drinks were good, strong . I has a margarita. My mom loved coconut rice, but wasn't a fan of the Mahi Mahi. I would go back for the ambiance and the drinks, but I'll skip on the food.

Peach sangria was delicious. The food was good and after a long wait for the meal to start the service was good. Appetizers, pasta, coffee cake was all lovely. I appreciated that the portions weren't mammoth but the sliver of delicious cake was obnoxious. It was insultingly small. I was told the sole was a good choice because they are known for it... Not so good. I enjoyed it overall and would recommend for anyone to try.

Cute place with a great view of the harbor. We took part in their happy hour and had drinks and appetizers. Service was adequate but not very quick.

This is the first time we have been back to the Marina Cafe in years and we are so sorry it took so long. The restaurant has been fully renovated and it is beautiful. They have a very nice bar- lounge that you can hang out in and there's a Tiki bar outdoors. We chose to dine indoors. All of our appetizers (oysters on the half shell, crabmeat cocktail, shrimp cocktail and meatballs) and all of our entrees (filet of sole rollatini and short ribs) were so fresh and amazing. The cocktails were excellent too. Service was fabulous. We will request our server, Naser, in the future. We will return very soon and highly recommend this restaurant. We suggest u make a reservation.

I love the food here. I been a few times and everytime the food was great. The bar tender knew make to make my drinks just right. The staff was accommodating. I love it here.

First time ordering the seared tuna cold noodle salad. For me, there's was too little sesame noodles and way too much over-dressed arugula to fully enjoy the seared tuna.

A repast was held here for my mom with many family and friends attending. The menu selections and presentation were excellent. The waiters were attentive. Couldn't ask for better service. Many thanks to Lou (manager) and entire staff for a most enjoyable experience.

First time coming to the tiki bar & it was great! Came on a Tuesday afternoon so wasn't super busy, got seated right away. Beautiful view of the water! The coconut sangria is a MUST, that alone will leave me coming back. All of the prices are super reasonable. We ordered the shrimp for an appetizer and I have to say the kimchee aioli sauce was everything, it made the dish. We also got shrimp tacos which were awesome and had the sauce as well. The staff was great, especially our server Brianna! Attentive to our needs and my water cup was never empty. Didn't rush us out and overall really had a great time here. Will be back :) Perfect summer spot

An excellent place to take in the summer. They have great views of the boats and have a creative array of Sangrias.

First time at Marina Cafe and it was great. It helped that we sat outside on a beautiful early evening. Also the service from Chelsea was top notch as she was attentive and helpful. We started out with oysters , clams and wings. The entree range from fish tacos , seafood supreme and steak sandwich. Chelsea kept the beverages coming and we truly enjoyed the time here.

Had lunch there yesterday with two girlfriends. We made a reservation so we could have a window seat. The food was delicious & reasonable. We had the luncheon special. Soup or salad & entree for $20. We then shared a decadent desert. We were never rushed. We had a great afternoon in a beautiful restaurant.

Bar is great. Sat down thereafter and rushed so much. They set up for a party at 10:30 Friday night!!!! Unreal and rude.
