The big windows all but cancel out the thrum of constant traffic outside, so you can switch off, sink a little deeper into the comfy red leather booths, and be content in your own world of refreshing salads, well-stuffed arayes, whipped, creamy hummus, and soft grilled meats. "A classic with spots across central and west London, Maroush Bakehouse makes all the Lebanese classics. And it makes them pretty well. Pricier than the other spots on this list, a portion of lahm b’agine is £6.50, but it’s a good spot to sate your pastry craving when you’re in the area. Think arayes (crispy flatbread stuffed with minced lamb and Lebanese spices), sambousek cheese (deep fried pastries filled with feta cheese and thyme), and mana’eesh zaatar." - rianne shlebak
