Stayed here for a convention. Love the easy access to the convention center. I had the room with the atrium view, nice change as I'm used to rooms with windows showing outside. Comfortable beds, slept soundly. Shower was flat tiled flooring, which I loved. Loved when we were in the check-in line, one of the employees was going down the line giving us water bottles, I thought that was really nice. Beautiful hotel overall. I would definitely stay here again and I recommend!

The Marriott Marquis in Washington DC is in a great location - easy to find restaurants in the area, but one block from Mt. Vernon metro stop if you want to head elsewhere. The restaurant in the hotel was a bit of a letdown. The food is more what I consider to be bar food that full restaurant. In fact, the restaurant is not open in the evenings, you eat at the bar or in the bar area. That said, the staff was friendly. (There is a STK attached to the hotel if that is your thing.)||For conferences you cannot be in a better location, in fact you can go to the convention center from a lower floor of the hotel. It was very nice on the days it rained. The meeting rooms were convenient and well cared for.||Sleeping rooms are pretty clean. Beware the shower - in my room for 3 nights it never got very warm. On the last night it delivered all the hot water I missed the earlier nights! Pretty scalding if you were not paying attention.||All the staff I met were delightful. From security getting me pointed in the right direction to the staff in the M-Club. A special shout out to the fellow at the front desk how helped me get the perfect room. I hope his name was Kabas...sorry if I got that wrong, he deserved me paying me more attention!!|All in all, a good stay.

Our stay started with being told our late checkout wouldn't cost anything then we were charged 86 bucks for late check out. We got to our room which was clean and in working order. Breakfast at the Anthem was nasty! Eggs were raw and soupy, pancakes were burnt. Anthem made us both sick. Lounge margaritas were 90% sweet and sour which made them nasty. I sent one back for it to just be made super sour again. One elevator for Washington tower broke so the other one glitched too. We spent 30 to 1 hr trying to get to our room which had 1 way up, those elevators.... I asked for a foam pillow the second day, I waited all day and asked 3 times for them to finally deliver two feather pillows. We ordered dessert one night. We heard the knock and I opened the door. I was hit in the face/chest with the container as the employee said there and walked away. When we checked out, we got charged a 40 dollar a day resort fee! What resort! This hotel has no amenities! No water park, no spa, no nothing. It has a nasty restaurant and poor service. 1000% Not a resort! I will not be staying here anymore, I will stick with Hilton.

Stayed here for a convention. The hotel is HUGE! I never went to my room the same way once in my six day stay. Be sure to ask which elevators are best for your room position. The rooms were spacious, rooms facing inward may be louder because they face the lobby area. But it's not that bad. Being attached to the convention center is was the best! We never had to walk outside to get there and the walk over wasn't that bad. Since the convention was so huge, I never got to eat in the hotel but there are great restaurant options within walking distance. The hotel staff were extremely efficient, especially with calling cabs and directing Ubers. The lobby area was always spotless and smelled like they just cleaned it.

I stayed here for a conference. I had a room facing the atrium, which was a refreshing change from a usual exterior view. The atrium is actually quite pretty to look at and there is a glass ceiling that lets in lots of natural light. The beds were very comfortable, and I really appreciated how quiet the room was. We slept very well. Overall, it’s a beautiful hotel, and I would definitely stay here again.

I had stayed at the Grand Hyatt in April for a business trip - the front desk were inexperienced and the same rude individual met us at our late check in and check out, and she could not get us a taxi at 4am so we almost missed our flight. Incidentally both the taxi we did get here in April and the one we got at Marriott in July, knew this staff member as rude from other customers and their own experience. |I had another business conference in July and opted to stay at the Marriott Marquis! This hotel was one of the best we have ever stayed at! The experience as an international client was transformative for the stay in DC.|On entry, Debra made us feel welcome and ensured as Marriott members we had all we needed. Stephany Singh the Assistant manager coordinated my trip from prior to the visit and continued to ensure all was well throughout my stay and at departure, knowing I was an international visitor and had had a poor experience at the Hyatt. ||Stephany made sure the bill was correct and incidentals returned and that Kennedy was there to collect my suitcase and have a taxi waiting at 4am for check out! She is an incredible manager and even checked all went well upon my return home! ||The hotel rooms were clean and housekeeping offered excellent service everyday. The staff were pleasant and the lobby restaurant had excellent and knowledgeable staff.||Grand Hyatt does not return your incidental fees, which you only learn is not returned to you after you leave, even if you don’t use it. Their manager defended this rather than considering the review of the customer. ||If you are an international visitor to DC, you will be comfortable and feel cared for at the Marriott Marquis. I have returned to work feeling rested, with a memorable stay at the Marriott where I felt safe and cared for, essential as an international client. I wish Stephany Singh, Kennedy, Debra and the housekeeping staff the very best for their absolutely excellent service during the week I spent there for work. Thank you.

Stayed here for a national conference. Great location close to public transit and close to attractions as well. This is a large hotel with long corridors. Rooms are comfortable and have the amenities you’d expect with a Marriott. Housekeeping was attentive, rooms are clean, and beds are comfortable. No complaints here!

Google
My first stay at Marriott Marquis in DC and wasnt impressed with service. Valet and Front Desk personnel weren't very welcoming or helpful. The rooms were much smaller than expected and I had a suite. The room was clean, quiet, the bed was comfortable, and water pressure was good. For some reason, the room wouldn't cool off even though we turned down the thermostat. We were out most of the day and not very hot over the weekend, so not too bad. Overall, I would recommend if size of room isn't an issue and you're ok with the outrageous $82 a night parking fees. I probably wouldn't return, but would try another Marriott hotel in the area.

Yelp
This hotel was extremely clean and the staff were beyond friendly. The lounge for Platinum members and above was the perfect, quiet space to get work done and the food there was great; loved that they had breakfast AND afternoon snacks. People love to complain about Marriott destination fees, but at $35 worth of food for $30 plus several other perks, it was easy to use and, I thought, perfectly reasonable. I know this is deliberately a convention center hotel, but I stayed here for business elsewhere in the city and would do so again.

Yelp
Has a Marriott gazillion mile lifetime titanium member I finally get to stay at what I thought was a classy hotel with a lounge or I could go up and maybe get a beer courtesy of the hotel my super Duper lifetime status. No, instead I was greeted by a buffet of stale cheese, slim pickings some light beer, which I don't know. OK that's cool. I'll grab one of those and then I noticed this reminder that it was gonna cost me eight dollars for a Miller light +10% tax plus gratuity , these guys have no shame but like they say location, location, location I never thought to read the yelp reviews in advance. I should have I hear the courtyards a better place.

Yelp
I am a fan of this hotel. I was in 15006 and it was so clean as well as quiet. The hotel is located near the conference center and connects underground for those who need to access the conference center. The M club was large and always stocked. The room was great, nothing to note otherwise. I had a nice view of DC. Peaceful and quiet - a win in my eyes I did not park or eat there so I cannot say much on that matter. I am sure parking is around $45 or more per night. Take the metro. https://youtu.be/yQ0S0eq5ktE

Yelp
Although the Marriott Marquis is nice and clean overall, I would expect better for the cost of the hotel. The furniture looks like it could use some TLC and upgrading. The desk chair in my room had chunks missing from the arm rest, which should have probably been replaced honestly. The staff was friendly for the most part. The location was away from the craziness of the city, but also still walkable to the city. I think this could be a great hotel, but it currently feels overpriced and could benefit from furniture repairs/upgrades.

Jennifer B.

Yelp
Terrible. We are a gold elite member and upon our arrival we were told that we were upgraded to a room with two"queens" because they didn't have a room with a king, when honestly they are double beds. Also the bathroom can only have one person in there at a time, super small with one sink. The chair in our room looked like it was something that had been left on the street see picture. When we came back after being gone the whole day, Our room hadn't even been cleaned and when I called to complain at 9:30pm, They said they could come now. Really?? I just wanted to go to bed and asked to get credited for drinks that we had charged to our room instead. They said they couldn't do that.

Yelp
The rooms were ok , but the lobby chairs are disgraceful and ugly stained filthy! We invited some friends from Delaware and sat in The chairs waiting for them To arrive. The chairs were so embarrassing!! For the amount of t they charge, there should be decent lounge chairs!

Yelp
This is absolutely the best conference hotel I've stayed at. It is across the street from the convention center. There is also an underground tunnel to get to the convention center in case of bad weather. If you are a platinum elite member or higher, there is an M lounge on the 12th floor. (It's actually open 24 hours though there is only food served for breakfast hors d'oeuvres and dessert.) There are multiple restaurants in the main floor and numerous conference rooms in the basement. I would not stay here except for during a conference, but feel that there is no option to stay anywhere else for a conference because it fulfills work needs so well. 5 stars for a work hotel!!

Yelp
The water pressure in the room is crazy low. Bath tub has no anti-slip strip, almost fell and jammed my toes under the tub plunger. Tried to charge us for 2 vehicles for two night of valet at $70 a night, though we used Uber to from the airport. Said we had a BMW and a Landcruiser! Nope, take the charges off the room bill. 30 minutes later the hotel removed the charges. But, 3rd party valet company persisted we had parked vehicles. We were not the only ones arguing about falsevalet charges. Sounds like a scam!!!

Yelp
We had a lovely 3 night stay here between Christmas & NYE. Our check in was easy and the bell hop very friendly & helpful. We found our room very clean and our bed comfortable. The room was cleaned daily and well maintained. Due to our Marriott Member Status, we received a lovely continental breakfast each day that was fresh & plentiful. We received passes for the hop on/off trolley and that was a fun and efficient way to see DC. We enjoyed a cocktail each evening in the lobby bar and found the warm chocolate chip cookie & ice cream very delicious! Having the Starbucks in-house was nice for an afternoon pick-me-up by their fireplace. Valet parking is $65 a night but there is plenty of public parking for a 1/3 of the price and a short walk away. Overall, I would recommend this hotel confidently and would definitely stay there again.

Yelp
Beautiful hotel in DC. I attended a conference for a week and enjoyed the atmosphere and ambiance of this Marriott. I enjoyed hearing our keynote presentations and presentations Sheryl Lee Ralph and Congresswoman Maxine Waters. There is a StarBucks in the lobby along with a bar and restaurant on property.
google avatar

Yelp
I only stayed one night but enjoyed my time at this hotel. The staff is very friendly and responsive. They also had my room ready for early check-in. This is a prime location that's close to almost everything in DC but away from all the city craziness. But there were small things that bothered me that could have been easily addressed. For example, the chair in my room had a tear and the curtains were stained. Everything else was nice and clean but still bothered me.

Yelp
I stay in Marriott properties almost as often as I do my own home. Marriotts, JWs, resorts, and also Courtyards, Fairfields, Residence Inns, Springhill, and Townplace Suites. I kinda know what to expect. The Marquis here in DC has been a happy surprise. I expected good. What we've experienced is delightful. @Tanya went above and beyond to make checkin pleasant and took care of a special situation on our behalf. The whiskey bar was a perfect place to watch the Dbacks take care of the Phillies in game 7 of the NLCS. The fitness center...well dang...better than the club I belong to back home. By chance I met resident manager @Philip Shortino as he was doing a walk-around (as all great managers everywhere do), and we had a nice chat. Our room is spacious, clean, , quiet, well-appointed...the stuff you hope for in a hotel; and, the M Club breakfast was just excellent. Too bad we can't stay longer.

Yelp
We stayed here for a week with my husbands company and overall they had a great location, the rooms were nice, the place was pretty cool to walk around in and explore. There was no loud noise or disruptions throughout the week or early mornings. Overall we had a great time here and would stay again for sure.

Yelp
A courtyard Marriott has nicer rooms and amenities. Seriously. Very spartan room with lame in room coffee. Poor water pressure in the shower and forget about getting service in the packed lobby bar. The only advantage to this location is the proximity to the convention center. The line at Starbucks is dozens deep every morning. I prefer to stay at smaller properties nearby and avoid all this. Unfortunately wasn't an option this trip. On top of everything, found long hair on the walls of the shower when I got in this morning. Yuck!

Yelp
Beautiful hotel. Upon check-in Debra at the front desk was superThe rooms are nice and has coffee & tea amenities and very clean. We decided to dine at their restaurant. Food was pretty descent and good selection. However, I didn't like the crab & corn fritters. It lacked flavor in my opinion. However, the other dishes were deliciously prepared. Service at the restaurant/bar was good and server was very attentive. We also ordered double chocolate and carrot cake for dessert. But when I ordered coffee they didn't have decaf so i opted for black tea instead. Overall good dining experience.

Yelp
Located amongst beautiful federal buildings and offices, I enjoyed my time here. The surrounding area is clean and quiet for what seems to be an otherwise busy location. The hotel is just a block away and across the street from the Apple Carnegie Library (basically an Apple Store with a monumental feel to it). There's a Starbucks inside the hotel by the entrance, perfect for coffee lovers or those who run on coffee, or those who want to grab a quick breakfast. The lobby is beautiful and offers some seating, although it looks like some of it is for the bar. I liked that there was security at the front most times that I was down there (in the evenings). The front desk employees were courteous and friendly. The hotel room is standard (mini fridge, TV, decent closet space), and we got a nice view of this DC area. We got connecting rooms - one with a king bed and one with double beds. All beds were comfortable. If you don't get a room with a view of the city, I'm sure the rooms facing the lobby offer nice views too, especially during the holiday season when the tree in the lobby is up, as well as lights and ornaments along the handrails. The gym is made up of 2 floors (never saw that at a hotel - a pleasant surprise!). The equipment available beats that of the New York Marquis in Times Square. Whereas the gym at the New York Marquis offers gorgeous views of a bustling city, I get more laidback vibes from the DC Marquis (it's busy in that there are many cars driving by, but relatively laidback compared to Manhattan). The equipment and setup are the same between both floors, although the rowing machines are only downstairs. A clean and nicely maintained hotel in a good location. It's a reasonable stroll from high-end shops such as Salvatore Ferragamo and Louis Vuitton, and a bit further down are stores including T.J. Maxx, Marshalls, Verizon, and H&M. I recommend this hotel if you're in the DC area.

Yelp
Stayed for a work event over the summer. Most of the staff were lovely. I was disappointed that there was no early check out. I had to leave for the airport at 3am. I needed to go to the front desk to check myself out. Also, no wake up calls offered. I usually ask for one (peace of mind), so I am not just relying on an alarm clock to wake me up. Would stay here again!

First L.

Yelp
This may be one of the worst hotels I've ever stayed at. Upon check-in, I went to my room. The bathroom was not clean. I called and was offered housekeeping or a room change. I opted for a room change. I had to go back to the front desk to pick up new keys. When I got to the second room, there was an issue with the bathroom lights flickering which immediately gave me a headache. I called again to request a room change and was told a bellhop would meet me at the room with new keys and would bring my luggage to the new room. After waiting about 10 minutes for the bellhop, another patron entered the room. In the span of 10 minutes, they had rebooked the room (in which I had already used the bathroom and sat in the bed) and the new resident entered. That was an awkward situation. When the bellhop finally arrived, he was rude and did not take my luggage until I asked him to put it on the cart. He repeatedly asked me for the old set of keys and kindly offered to rifle through my purse for me because I told him my hands were full and could not look for them at that very moment. The third room is acceptable compared to the first two but still has cleanliness issues.
google avatar

Brian B.

Yelp
My work booked a room for me at the hotel for a conference. The rooms are nothing spectacular but perfectly acceptable. The reason for the negative review is their deceptive billing. I was billed $25 for a "destination fee". This was billed to my personal credit card rather than the work account that booked the room. When I saw a $25 fee that I didn't agree to at the time of checkout, I tried to contest the charge. However, the managers there were rude and unsympathetic, and were unable to remove the charge. The cost of the valet was $65 overnight, which seems excessive, and although they promised they would charge my electric car, they did not do so. Checking out of a seven hour stay with $100 and incidentals even though I didn't eat or drink anything seems totally absurd.
google avatar

Jeremy P.

Yelp
Not sure why it's a 3.2... because I've stayed in quite a few DC hotels and this has been one of the nicest ones I've stayed at. The personnel are friendly and helpful. The M Club is on point and is such a good place to relax before work and after a long day. The rooms are nice and spacious. Beds are comfortable. I'll def stay here again and if you have Marriott status the M Club is worth it
google avatar

Savannah L.

Yelp
I want to start by saying this hotel was beautiful! We had everything we needed and were close to many amenities. I was attending a conference and because this hotel connects to the convention center it made my life so much easier. The only negatives for me were parking was expensive to use the valet service and we weren't allowed to carry our own bags do and from our room.
google avatar

Dan S.

Yelp
Stayed here for four nights for a business conference and this felt like the nicest hotel I've stayed at in a long while. First off, the M lounge for platinum members was first class. Great food. Huge and modern, it was the perfect place to start or end the day. Always a snack available. The rooms were gorgeous and again modern. Enjoyed a very comfortable bed and shower. The conference rooms were well taken care of and the food there was surprisingly good too. The only minor negative is the Starbucks was a little less than stellar but I don't blame the hotel for that. All in all, a great stay!

Yelp
The hotel is massive and impressive. Beautiful building; very friendly, and well trained staff We stayed 3 nights for business/leisure combined reasons. Now, we had to request for our room to be serviced and still they came once and it was very poorly done They barely made our bed but left the pillows over the chair and they used a queen size sheet on a king size bed, which was m obvious but the person didnt care enough to change it to the right sheets size. They didnt do the bathroom and forgot to leave us any toiletries I understand, maybe the hotel was super busy that week, but things like that should not happen at that level Something else i would like to review is the food. The food at the bar in the lobby was absolutely amazing. We ate there all 3 nights, totally satisfied with the quality. The first morning, though. we went to have breakfast at the restaurant. Ordered a delicious omelette, everything went well until we tried the coffee. Guys $7 dollars a cup, the coffee should be the best quality. Very disappointed at the coffee. Not good quality. The orange juice was delicious, freshly squeezed, but $6 for a 4oz glass seems a little greedy. Maybe increase the size and even the price; it will look better. We love marriot, we are platinum members and travel all over the world using marriot hotels. We even live at the hotels for periods of time. Lets keep up with the standards guys. Will be back for sure. Thank you.

Hope S.

Yelp
Make sure to check the bed sheets!!!!!!! They had clearly not been changed and were stained with blood. That is ABSOLUTELY DISGUSTING AND UNACCEPTABLE!!!! How unsanitary to think I paid that amount to stay in a nicer hotel and got a zero star hotel status. CHECK THE SHEETS!!!!!!!! BEWARE!!!!!!

Yelp
I stayed here for a convention for three nights, four days. The hotel is located very centrally and is just blocks away from shopping, Chinatown and restaurants. Room service was prompt and clean. Check-in was seamless. Room was the size I expected and the AC worked (you'd be surprised how often it doesn't at other hotels). My room faced the street, and it wasn't loud at all. Convention services were alright, there were very few signs for conference rooms etc so we all had to wander quite a bit. None of the water fountains were in service, which seems very not eco-friendly:( Had to fill up my water bottle with little bottles of water that I managed to snag at our event and from room service...

Angel P.

Yelp
Food made my wife sick. Room was dirty. Sheets were stained. Safe in room didn't work. For the price, the room was really small. Valet staff was good. All-in-all, we won't be back.

Yelp
I have mixed emotions about this hotel, but when I really think about my total being right under $500 for a 3 night stay, I can't complain too much.... First things first, WHERE CAN I BUY A BOTTLE OF WATER IN THIS HOTEL!!! I totally understand why the Front desk randomly has bottles of water upon check-in...You won't be able to find ANY while staying as a guest. I went out nearly every night and when I wanted to chug some water to avoid dehydration before bed, there was no water to be found. I found myself scouting water everyday from the café downstairs (when stocked) or from the Front Desk, (when stocked) as well.... Seems like this is a common issue. Perhaps a vending machine? Also, there are no microwaves ANYWHERE in the hotel and the staff aren't afraid to tell you they don't have one...That let's you know it's frequently asked. Maybe if there is not a way to place one in each room, there could be an area with a pair of microwaves of maybe a set of 3 for the guests??? I had takeout stored in the fridge but had to eat it cold... And what was with the attitude when I asked. 3rd, there is no type of convenient store or area to buy any snack or simple things like that.... This hotel really offered very little. Just being honest... I think Courtyard Marriott got me spoiled with that. They always have an area to buy snacks, microwave something, buy Tylenol, anything. I assumed this hotel would offer that but It doesn't. Just FYI. The Starbucks at the Hotel is closed but they do offer a café. The lobby is beautiful and the Bellman was always smiling and saying Hello. I point him out because I found the front desk to be quite rude. Upon Check in, my room was under my friends name. He wanted the points for his card so I understand. I told the front desk clerk 3xs the name. We will just use John Doe for ease. By the 3rd time it finally clicked and after having to call my friend, give a confirmation and show the reservation on my phone she finally found the booking... Simple mistake, and she could have been there all night. What makes me point this situation out, is I believe she felt a bit embarrassed. She made it seem like I was being difficult checking in under somebody else's name and began to argue with me, that I gave her the name backwards. I told her 3xs John Doe, and she advised I told her the First name was Doe, and last name John....???? She even made an abrupt remark saying, "Sir, that is not what you said!!". Mind you, that was my 1st encounter with the staff when checking in. She gives me a card with the room number written in blue sharpie and tosses it on the desk, and yes...walks away! WELCOME! lol I was excited about being in DC, but I have to admit, I was like "Damn, who is this girls manager". She just argued with me on why it took HER so long to find my reservation"... The view from my room was nice and the hotel location is great. Uber Rides were no more than $15-$17 and that was for black. Beds are full so that was a downer and I do think the rooms could be cleaned a bit better. It may be me, as I interned for Disney in College and worked the resorts, but I found lots of dust and crumb accumulation on the nigh stand, and television stand... Last my friend that came with me was mistakenly charged $750. Not sure how that happened but he is still waiting on his refund. Another Front Desk issue. Will I stay here again, YES! The price isn't bad, beautiful lobby, and descent rooms but the hotel could perk up the front desk, offer more food variety, open the Starbucks and please...Offer Water!

Yelp
Extremely crowded and just a basic marriott. Nothing special about it, clean sheets and towels but nothing remarkable about the staff or the place. Convenient location tons to do in the area. The restaurant downstairs Anthem was actually really good I had the Caesar salad with crab cakes and it was very good. Crisp wine and excellent service l.

Yelp
Three stars is an overall rating. The hotel is new and has possibly the best lobby I've seen. They are a very busy hotel and the check-in set up is not adequate to handle the volume. It is a terrible way to greet your new guests. Let me recommend that you avoid Tue bell hop station to store your bags. You may end up waiting in a very long line to get them back. Good options ore very limited. Plan to eat out. What little bar food they have is not very good. On a very positive note, the M Lounge on Tue 12th floor is fantastic with a great setup, open outdoor seating, and a great breakfast. Food after breakfast is not good, but, it is a good place to escape the hustle of the lobby. Valet is a complete disaster. You may have t wait 45 minutes or more to get your car. The drop off and pick up area are a complete cluster f@ck. The rooms are modern and high quality. The elevators are lightning quick. In some areas they deserve five stars, in other areas like check-in, bell hop demands, valet, and food options deserve 1 star.

Yelp
Wow what a beautiful, awesome valet staff, hard to find, terrible customer service, no info in the rooms, overpriced, overrated hotel! Valet was so friendly. Helped get past the $60 daily rate. They made it worth it. Check in - I reserved a double room, with my teenaged son. The agent says 'king bed'. I was insulted & sarcastically told him, 'well that'd be a bit inappropriate to be in the same bed as my teen. I asked about available upgrades. The rep told me yes-not for free. I told him with my status, I get free upgrades based upon availability. He told me no-NO MARRIOTT does that! I was done with him. Went to the standard room. In order to avoid the DC traffic, I looked in the room for hotel info for eateries. Hotel or even local restaurants. NOTHING!! No signs for the security chest. No signs for the 'water'. May have been complimentary, but again, no signs. Bathroom was decent, room was clean. Other than that, I'd stay at the Residence Inn across the street if need be. I finished that hotel stay, & called Bonvoy about my stay. The customer service rep agreed that the hotel rep was wrong & verified the rules for complimentary upgrades, based upon availability. He apologized, and satisfied me with complimentary points. Unreal routine. The DMV Marriott locations need to work on their customer service.

Yelp
We drank and ate at the bar every day we were here and Cora, who is a bartender ... is the BOMB!!! Great service. Always smiling. Remembered our names. Super peppy without being obnoxious. Answered our touristy questions on where to go and what to do. She told us she loves her job and it shows! We hope to see her next year when we come back for an annual convention. Thank you, Cora!!! You're the BEST!!! #FiveStars #GreatService #Kudos

Yelp
Huge hotel but very calm vibes. The bar gets swamped but the drinks are strong and tasty. I recommend the super bloom. Tasted like a fruit smoothie with vodka. The color is so eye catching everyone was stopping me to ask what I was drinking. The food I also heard was tasty even though I didn't get any. Bartenders are very kind. There is also plenty of seating which is nice!

Yelp
Dining service is kind of odd and RUDE. Came for a conference and didn't have a warm welcome. They were rude to a CHILD and told them to "find another table in the back" and shooed them away when we all just wanted to watch a basketball game up front. We were waiting for minutes and they kept passing us when we tried flagging them down to let them know we were going to sit at one of the tables closer to the TV. We were all super respectful and just said okay, but since she was so rude we just walked away and weren't even hungry anymore. Nor did we watch the game.. They need more friendly servers.

Yelp
Nope. NOT again! I chose the Marquis because it was close to the convention center. That was a plus but will choose elsewhere next time. It started with a less than friendly and helpful person checking me in who did not make me feel welcome nor did she explain anything about the hotel to me. I had to figure it out myself and learned there is very little anything complimentary for guests not coffee or breakfast and you will pay extra for internet access (good luck connecting in your room!). Fortunately there is a Starbucks in the hotel (prepare to wait in line) and the fitness center is good. The lobby is far from cozy, not quiet and getting a seat at the bar was nearly impossible. The worst part was the room itself. Arrived to find a busted door handle, STAINED sheets and the lamp was torn in several places. The caulk in the shower was missing and the mattress and furnishings looked worn and dated. The phone was DIRTY! Did no one notice these things before me??!!! I expect a lot more from Marriott and will book elsewhere next time.

Yelp
I have to say I was truly disappointed by my stay. I will start with the positive if you're there for a conference it's very nice that it's connected to the convention center. I would also say the lounge very nice and had lots of food. The security guards are the nicest people at the hotel, and the only people with a smiles and that were ready to help you. The rooms are pretty bad. I could hear everything happening in my neighbors room from them talking on the phone with their relatives to their alarm clock going off be careful to not get a room that's in interfacing because then you get to hear everything in the loud lobby, while people are having parties, I found many of the staff except the security staff quite rude. I want to pay my bill so I won't have to luggage all my stuff to the front desk and they said that's not possible. I have done it all around the world. I felt like everyone had a chip on the shoulder and I know they're supporting with a large volume but that is what the hotels to designed for. I would really consider staying here again in the past. I've stayed at the courtyard and I think it was a much better quality hotel and quality staff. I know there's somethings you can't change with architecture but staff don't have to be so rude.

Yelp
We've stayed at this hotel twice, so we'll do pros and cons: Pros staff is always very nice and professional, the hotel has a Starbucks onsite restaurant with a bar. There are a lot of things to do in walking distance if you're adventurous. Cons no onsite parking, valet is 60.00 a lot for one night we got there at 3pm and the line was around the block. For the most part, the room was clean. I, of course, sprayed and rewiped. The sheet wouldn't stay on the mattress. The mattress wasn't back to the headboard, and the headboard had white scratches on it. The trash cans had bags hanging on the outside. Umm, I don't work here, so no, I will not insert the bags. I never use the glasses in the room, and let me say I moved them. The ones with the ice bucket were filthy. I mean, just gross, it looked like dried boogers on one. The towels by far were the hardest scratchy I ever experienced. My family had the same issues with towels, headboard, glasses they allow pets which I don't like when the room doesn't look properly cleaned everyone is not clean with their dogs and there were a lot of them while we stayed. A bag of dirty laundry sat outside our room and was there when we checked out sunday morning. I guess the housekeeper just left. We won't be back a lot of money for super 8 quality.

Yelp
Great location, especially if attending an event at the Walter E. Washington Convention Center across the street (also accessible underground). Face to face service at the Marriott Marquis is great and the staff are on point. During this particular visit, I came here for corporate holiday party. It was quite exceptional and the Marriott Marquis as a venue couldn't be more fitting. From the minute you walk-in there is a huge lobby-atrium that commands your attention with its architectural design and a modern decor, lounge seating and for this time of the year --holiday decorations! It made for a festive night. Although I did not stay in the hotel for the night. We did manage to secure a room (12-015) for changing and hanging out purposes. It was a king room with a Murphy bed that was comfortable and willed with your standard room amenities (i.e. flat screen, business desk and modern bathroom. Nothing upscale or out of the ordinary. The room service menu is also very limited, but there are many places in and near the hotel for dining; including you can take advantage of a delivery service option like Postmate, GrubHub or Uber Eats In all, great looking hotel and experience. The facilities for the holiday party were very good, especially with hundreds of people attending with good acoustics, good food and friendly staff. HONORABLE MENTION: If whiskeys are your thing, be sure to try out "The Dignitary" bar onsite - they have a very impressive menu of several hundred whiskeys and attentive staff.

Yelp
It was beautiful and the people were friendly not that much food selection inside and not a ton of tv channels if the tourest attractions are closed.

Yelp
Location was amazing. No car necessary. Walking distance to everything. Very spacious hotel- came for convention and everything was set at this location. Nice stay!

Yelp
Room is very comfortable. Bathtub VERY clean that I decided to take a bath. I'm a frequent traveler and its RARE to find a hotel with a clean tub.Bed is amazingly comfortable and the views are spectacular. Downside is that the front desk took 15 minutes to answer their phones at 11pm. Front desk was very nice and helpful during engagement.

Yelp
To say I am horrified and disgusted is probably an understatement after my recent stay while at a conference at the Marriott Marquis Washington DC hotel. This hotel is supposed to be a nice, 4+ star, high end property and just so unbelievable that I spent 4 nights in a room with bed bugs! I started to notice them as I got bit on my ankle on night 2 and 3, but I didn't think much because it was storming outside and I assumed I got bit elsewhere. However, I react a specific way to bed bugs and soon the bites started flaring up and I knew. But even better, on my last night, I found one, just casually walking around part of the curtain that was directly over my luggage on the ground. I immediately grabbed a towel, killed it, and alerted the hotel staff. As it was past midnight, they basically couldn't do anything except move me to a new room. Fine, except afterwards they said they needed to take their own photos and needed to put the towel (with the dead bug) back in the room because if their bio-hazard team came to investigate in the morning and didn't find anything, they would say I was lying. This is pretty crazy, I literally took photos the moment I found the bug, ALIVE, and took the bug down to them after I had killed it and showed the whole staff, and yet they made me feel like I was trying to stage something. See photos. It gets weirder after that. I obviously couldn't sleep that night even in the new room, and I voiced my concerns about possibly bringing them back since I had been in that room ALREADY 3 nights with who knows how many bed bugs. They didn't offer any solutions and the front desk told me they'd comp one night's room, which they later retracted?? ... they said somebody from their corporate team would contact me, I got one message and tried calling back several times and leaving them messages but felt like that was the only time I would ever get some contact? So here I am, freaking out after I got home, had to spray my luggage with a multitude of bed bug spray, and leave it outside for days, and then basically throw away hundreds of dollars worth of work clothes because once you have bed bugs its almost impossible to get rid of them. Thanks Marriott for doing basically nothing and offering me nothing. I'm not sure being a "Bonvoy" member really did anything for me there. Also, AVOID THIS HOTEL. Geez.

Yelp
The hotel is fine enough for comfort, but food? Forget it. Find a freaking McDonalds. My breakfast was supposed to be a cheese omelette, turkey sausage, home fries and sour dough toast. $25.00 What came, in a series of styrofoam containers, was lukewarm eggs shaped like an omelette, but with no cheese inside, sausage that was cold enough to reduce swelling if you didn't have an ice pack and I ended up eating only the toast. Guess they couldn't screw that up. Meanwhile, if I'm in the dining room at a table, why plop a big bag of styrofoam boxes on my table. Plastic utensils and one teeny pack of salt and pepper? I like Marriott, but this is piss poor and it's too late to use covid as the excuse.

Yelp
My husband is an ambassador elite, and the hotel didn't even welcome us. Also, the hotel was pretty outdated. The gym was huge and well-equipped, and the rooms were clean. For a Marquis, we expect more from staff and surroundings.

Yelp
Not worth the $479/night. Recently trying out Marriott after being HHonors for years; I'll be going back. Headboards are scuffed, when calling down for help connecting to the internet, I was told, " Sorry sir, unfortunately it's difficult for laptops and iPads to connect. I'll have IT call you." Hek of a standard to have when I've got an 8am web call.

Yelp
I stayed here for a conference. I think it's a good hotel to stay in if the company is paying. Don't think I would choose to stay here on my own. The rooms were okay, nothing special and the coffee machine was quite outdated. Most of the dining options are closed right now so I only tried the breakfast place, which wasn't that great.

Yelp
This hotel has some of the most variable room experiences I've ever seen and not in a good way. First, if you are registering though some sort of room block (such as Otakon), and your reservation has "run of the hotel" on it? Don't plan on getting a double even if you arrive for the 3:00PM check-in. Upon my arrival I joined the long line to check-in, as apparently another event was also going on at the hotel. My front desk check-in staff member had the personality of a brick. We ended up getting a single bed room, even with three people on the reservation and four total in the room. Other people I know, who arrived later, were able to get doubles so I'm not sure how that worked. To get a rollaway, we needed to call twice from the room and for two hours we were ignored. It took another trip to the front desk, where we got a much more helpful staff member to get us our needed rollaway. They did comp us a night of parking for these problems. If I was staying at a Motel 6, this single bed room would be fine, but I'm paying money to stay at a Marriott Marquis, not a Motel 6. A Motel 6 has bathroom locks. Single rooms at the Marriott are a massive downgrade from doubles for several reasons. To start the bathroom does not have locks, but a heavy door that can pinch/hurt fingers when closing them from the inside. The bathroom door does not close tightly, and you can see through cracks directly into the shower. They have no vent and the shower is designed backwards, with the controls behind you, and very little water pressure. Soundproofing between rooms is fine, but you can here every loud car and siren outside. The key reason to stay here is for the underground bridge to the convention center, the only reason I will be returning. I'm not sure what kind of magic you need to get a room with two beds. Four people on the reservation? Call ahead early? Secret handshake? Bribe? Do I think a single at $260 per night with taxes was worth it? Absolutely not. Single rooms need to be $30-$50 cheaper per night due to their glaring differences.

Yelp
Stay at many marriotts for work and this had by far the worst service. Staff were rude and not accommodating despite overbooking our hotel room. This hotel convinced me to finally switch hotel brands for my work trips probably long overdue
