Marty’s Deli Review - Arts District - Minneapolis - The Infatuation

"The line at Marty’s will probably be out the door, but don’t let that discourage you: service is efficient and the enormous sandwiches really are that good. It’s the typical options of cold cuts and delicious add-ons like whipped feta, but the real magic comes from the fresh focaccia that has just the right sprinkle of rosemary and sea salt. In the morning, opt for the garlic aioli-spiked egg and cheese breakfast sandwich, and later, go with the Seward: the curry-pickled beets, fennel pesto, and roasted cauliflower pack so much flavor together you’ll be back in line soon." - Stacy Brooks

The egg salad sandwich on rye is always perfection. I get it for both breakfast and lunch. Comes with a bag of chips, too. The staff are always personable and upbeat. Price is right, too. Highly recommend this place for lunch or breakfast.

I went in hoping to find a new local lunch spot. The service was kinda rude though, it took a while and the food was bad. Burnt and not much seasoning. Hopefully it was a one off experience and it's really as good as everyone else says. I won't be back though.

Called ahead and got the chicken box (3 wings w/ fries) and the cheese steak. Wings had minimal breading, but the skin/fat was rendered and crunchy. Cheese steak was smaller than anticipated, but SUPER flavourful. Favorite from the order was surprisingly the fries! They were a similar style to what you get at Checkers in that they had a super crunchy, seasoned coating and fluffy interior. Sidenote: Prices online are out-of-date. 4 stars instead of 5 since the portions were smaller than anticipated for the pricing.

Bacon, egg and cheese on buttered toast was rocking and the tuna fish sandwich with lettuce, tomato, onion and hots was great too! Service was fantastic. Will go back again on our next trip into Baltimore 😊

Yelp
My adventures lead me to this lil gem of a place.... coffee nice and sweet and creamy... mmmm They ask if you want butter and jam on your toast.. Potatoes are made with onions so good... The service is great, very sweet. Get you Some breakfast, how grandma used to make it!

Yelp
The average person walking by would never guess how good this place is unless you go inside, It really is a gem It's under new management, but the food is still great, you wouldn't guess it from the outside but it's super clean inside, And one of the best corner delis in Baltimore The prices are great, the food is made fast and consistent , if you need a breakfast or lunch spot this is it Try a breakfast sandwich and a half-and-half

Yelp
Absolutely amazing hole in the wall deli and restaurant in Pigtown area of baltimore. Open 6:30-3:30 M-F, 8-12:30 Sat, closed on Sundays. All day breakfast like your grandma made it and at an extremely low price that'll beat anywhere around. Located right behind M&T Bank Stadium on the corner of W Cross Street, you won't be disappointed with this one. A family owned home restaurant with some small grocery needs as well. Come hungry and leave happy!

Yelp
This is the cleanest sub shop I've ever seen in Baltimore and I grew up here lol. Granted I haven't lived here since I was 19 years old but still. I work in the area so now I will frequent this spot because I really was impressed and want to try their other menu items. The ppl that work here was so nice. Great customer service. I was surprised. They had a nice variety of food to offer from their menu. Including breakfast and lunch items. I ordered the cheese steak sub. It came with a drink and a bag of chips. The cheesesteak was good. I might get my bread toasted the next time though. It was only a half of a sub so make sure you specify what size you want because I wanted a whole sub. It didn't take them long to make it either. There is an atm in there. And they also had fresh food cups in the refrigerated counter. Which was also spotless and very clean!

Yelp
Sorry for not taking pics. But I am not new to Marty's. I used to get quick bites when I used to work at the church that is directly across the street. So yesterday I was hungry for some breakfast. I ordered the Steak egg and cheese sandwich and got my coworker some watermelon. When you come here, you will be treated like family and get good service and food. My sandwich was nice and the steak was cooked amd seasoned well. My coworker advised rhe watermelon was not sweet. Maybe next time.

Yelp
You might not notice it walking by, but this is a great place in the area. The people are friendly and the food is great. One of the first things you notice walking inside, is a wall of photographs of all of the people in the community who frequent this place. It's a lot of smiling faces.

Yelp
Super friendly and the food was great! Had the daily special: shrimp cheesesteak and fries. Everything was fresh, hot and perfectly spiced.

Yelp
This little hole in the wall deli embodies what Baltimore is all about. Hardworking ma and pa shop absolutely killing it with the bmore classics. Chicken box is on point, fries are hot and crispy and ridiculous with a dollop or five of gravy. Their shrimp cheesesteak is very good, but must be eaten quickly before the bread gets soggy (which is hard not to do). The chicken salad sandwhich on a croissant is very simple and fresh - another classic that they have nailed down to the T. The service is also very fast and always friendly. Ms. Kim is also easy on the eyes for a 50? 40? 30? yr old ;) 5 out of 5 for the best lunch spot under 8 dollars for miles around.

Yelp
So the other day me and my coworker were trying to find something to eat. We came across Marty's as we were walking around, and thought why not! Also not to mention that this was the only deli nearby (a deli in baltimore is rare). My coworker and I thought this place would be a bust judging from the looks of it but it ended up being pretty decent. The owner was really nice. We both had turkey club sandwiches and a half and half to go. Place was packed with locals. Would go again if I'm ever around.

Yelp
I was in the area and was in the mood for something healthy/refreshing so I decided to give this place a whirl. It was almost hard to make a decision because they have a surprising number of options... I had chef salad and fruit, and it was definitely a solid lunch. Word of advice: as quick as they were with my service, this place can apparently get quite busy during lunchtime so I was told I should call ahead if I don't want to wait. Overall good experience though

Yelp
Great little find in an area which does not have a lot of options. Cheap and fast which is perfect to grab a quick bite at lunch! Very friendly service as well.

Yelp
CHICKEN BOX! What else can I say. Food is great for a rather small shop in a not-completely appealing 'hood. But it is in viewing sight of Ravens' stadium, so you know you're in Baltimore. Great city, great eatery.
