The 12 Best Ramen Restaurants In Austin

"Marufuku is the only Austin-area outpost of the San Francisco-based ramen mini-chain, now with eight locations across three states. The specialty here, like many other ramen spots in town, is tonkotsu broth, but there’s also a creamy chicken paitan and a plant-based option available for those in search of something a bit lighter. And if you get there early (they only make 15 each day), you can even get your chicken paitan ramen with a sweet and sticky grilled chicken leg on the side, served hot on a sizzling platter." - nicolai mccrary, raphael brion

Such a gem for our group! We came here for Mother’s Day with 2 families, the ramen did not disappoint, warm sake was delicious, dessert was authentic, kids meal was a steal with meal combo drinks and dessert 🤗 my picky kids loved everything! Such a wonderful evening spend for a perfect celebration 🎊

Google
Tried the Chicken Paitan DX and wow This place really delivered. The broth was insanely rich and flavorful, probably one of the best I’ve had in a while. The ramen itself was perfectly done, and I really appreciated the texture and depth of the toppings. That grilled chicken leg on the side had this amazing sweetness to it that balanced out the whole dish in the best way. But honestly, what made the whole experience even better was the service. My server (I believe her name was Brandi) was super friendly, attentive, and just made the whole vibe feel warm and welcoming. Definitely looking forward to coming back

Melissa Steinke

Google
The vegetarian ramen is delicious except for the soft-boiled egg. It wasn't seasoned like the menu says. Our server was nice and attentive even while the restaurant was busy for lunch. The group seated next to us had 3 young kids all throwing their food around, so that was unpleasant to watch while trying to eat. I usually go here for dinner and I'd say that experience is much better than lunch on a weekend.

Google
I was quite impressed with the depth and tastiness of the broth! Count me in as a repeat customer. We tried the spicy chicken tantan and the paitan (we don't eat pork, so we were limited to either chicken or veggie based broth). As starters we tried the fried chicken, squid and octopus. Everything was very tender and tasty.

Google
Pretty solid overall. Kid combo for $10 is great: fries (great), fried chicken (very good), broccoli, corn-bean (okay), dessert, and a juice? Great. Chicken Tonkatsu? Great. Comparing it to chicken noodle soup (CNS) is like comparing carbon in a pencil to diamonds made of carbon. CNS is weak. Tan Tan Ramen: 4.5 star. Solid. Good flavor and spice. Chicken rice? Solid.

Google
I had a chicken ramen and my daughter the kids meal which had fried chicken , veggie bowl, and a plain ramen. My kid loved the meal especially the chicken karage , I tasted it and it was delicious. My ramen was amazing , spicy , the broth was flavourful with the ground chicken, only one critic , I would have preferred a marinated egg rather than a plain soft boiled egg. Overall the food was amazing. Definitely recommended.

Google
First time trying Marufuku! And we loved it! The broth had so much flavor, the chicken karagee was great. The dumplings were a little soggy but not bad, still enjoyed. Will return

Google
I originally wanted to try the limited-edition chicken ramen (only 15 servings available), but unfortunately, it was sold out when I arrived. Instead, I ordered the first item on the menu. The portion wasn’t very big. At first, it tasted pretty good—the broth was a bit greasy, and the noodles were a bit salty, but overall, it was decent. Make sure to have a glass of water on the side. The takoyaki was also tasty. The staff was very friendly. Parking was a bit difficult to find. If you don’t want to wait too long, I recommend going around 5 PM; otherwise, the wait time might be longer than what the app estimates.

Yelp
Food was amazing. Got the Tonkostu and TenTen Our server, Martine was attentive and knowledgeable about the menu!

Yelp
This ramen was fantastic! I came with my friend who says this is the best ramen in Austin. I loved how the broth was not overly salty. Some ramen makes me dehydrated for hours afterwards, but this one didn't have that effect at all. We both got the hakatu tonkotsu ramen, which is their classic option. It was so tasty and filling. We finished our portions, and we were very full. It comes with delicious chashu pork and a soft boiled egg. The price comes out to about $20 total, which is pricier for Austin, but it is worth it. Our food came out quickly. I love how they validate two hour parking for the garage here. Just ask, and they will give you a ticket for it! I don't usually like coming to Mueller because you have to pay for street or garage parking. I wish they advertised this more because I wouldn't have known had I not read the reviews beforehand. The decor is modern and classy, and I liked the vibes. Our waiter was friendly, but the service itself was sadly not very good, especially when it got busier.

Yelp
I've come to Marufuku twice in the past couple of months and really enjoyed my visits both times. My most recent visit landed on a Thursday evening, around 6:30 PM--the restaurant wasn't super packed or anything and my wife and I were able to get seated right away. Service was quick and our orders were taken right away. The restaurant has a good amount of tables inside, larger parties than 4 could work, but only if it's not super busy. I ordered the "Hakata Tonkotsu DX:"Hakata style ramen with rich pork broth. It contained chashu pork (simmered pork belly), a seasoned soft boiled egg, green onions, kikurage mushrooms, bean sprouts and buta kakuni (braised thick pork belly), corn, and nori seaweed. Both times I had it were delicious in my opinion, especially for the price. The broth was flavorful, pork tender, and the combination of all the vegetables really brought everything into balance. Would definitely continue coming back!

Yelp
Killer ramen...at a price. My quest for the perfect bowl of ramen brought a group of friends to Marafuku. The interior is warm and bright, with high ceilings and a full bar. On a Saturday afternoon, it wasn't even half full, probably owing to the UT game. The menu is generous without being overwhelming. Ramen options are: -2 chicken base -2 pork base -1 vegetable -1 spicy tan tan I ordered the spicy tan tan, while my wife got their traditional tonkotsu. Two important things of note; both of these bowls of ramen are darn near $20 each, and the tan tan only comes in one spice level that can't be altered. I realize it's 2024 and inflation and blah blah blah blah, but even in dystopian cyberpunk, a bowl of noodles is consistently affordable. Alright, with all my hating out of the way, the food was top notch. Noodles are more chewy than at other ramen joints, all of the broth is on the lighter side, while still being absolutely packed with flavor. My spicy tan-tan had just the right amount of heat; enjoyable in the moment without having to pay the price the next day. The ika karaage was great, but be warned, the menu reads "fried squid" when it's specifically "fried squid tentacles." Some folks are squeamish about that sort of thing. Our cocktails were great, with my wife calling her old fashioned "dangerously smooth." From a culinary perspective, there's very little to pick on here. Unfortunately 2 bowls of ramen + 2 cocktails + 1 squid appetizer ended up being $85 before tip. Yikes.

Yelp
The broth and the chicken in my Chicken Patain!! Usually my experience with ramen is that the noodles are amazing but the broth is too heavy and the chicken is too bland. It was backwards here! The broth and the chicken were my favorite, I loved how juicy the chicken was and that there were a couple of pieces in there. The broth too, I ordered mine spicy level medium and it was just right for me. I could've probably gone up a spicy level but this was perfect. It also wasn't as salty or heavy. The noodles were just okay for me, there were plenty of them in my bowl but nothing really stood out to me from them. I wondered if some of them might have been slightly undercooked? The space is in the middle of busy-ness of Mueller so go park in the garage and bring your ticket, they validate! The space is kind of small but there's a cool bar area with tv's and 3-4 booths for larger groups. The service was fine and the food came out quick. I'll be back!

Yelp
Decided to have lunch here today since I haven't gone back in a while. I ordered my usual with a side of bamboo. The chashu was mainly fat this time with very little meat, which was disappointing. Also, the side of bamboo seemed to be less than usual, but at least it is heated up this time. Service was good. The waitress checked on me multiple times and made sure everything was good. Parking isn't so bad during the weekday lunchtime, which is a plus.

Yelp
My new favorite ramen place in Austin The flavors are SO GOOD!! I don't know much about how ramen is cooked, but I can say that the ramen bowl hits you in the most satisfying way!!! Potion size huge, ambiance is nice, service is kinda slow and staff is not that friendly. But the ramen bowl, WOW!! Can't wait to come back to try more
google avatar

Molly M.

Yelp
I can see why this place is popular now, it's a really nice and flavorful tonkotsu broth. The medium spice didn't really have much spice so I would go more if you're really looking for a "spicy tonkotsu." The egg wasn't marinated like I prefer but at least was cooked really nicely. Service was fine, atmosphere was kinda busy and warm. I don't live near a Marufuku but next time I'm close to one I would revisit just to slurp the broth again!

Yelp
Another trip to ATX means another search for good food--this time I found this amazing ramen joint. This spot is nestled into the beautiful neighborhood of Mueller right by the park. I was quickly seated at the bar and immediately the bartender came up and asked if I needed a breakdown of the menu. They showed me around and I landed on the DX; it came out within 5-10 minutes and it looked idyllic. The pork cuts were probably the best I've had so far but that piece of braised pork was legendary. The noodles were thin and matched the broth perfectly, which was also the perfect blend of meaty, spicy flavor. The ramen includes bean sprouts which I love and overall ambience was super chill and clean. Highly recommend this spot!
google avatar

Anthony B.

Yelp
Flavorful and delicious. Ramen portion was generous and the medium spice option is perfect enough to enjoy the ramen without sweating! Get the Hakata Tonkatsu DX, always worth it. Service was great, we were a table of 6 and the accommodations in place were excellent for our party. Ambiance is very chill, and it's not a very loud spot even on a busy Sunday afternoon.
google avatar

Lucinda Y.

Yelp
They validate parking! You will enjoy the spicy tan tan and tonkatsu for sure! We are not from Austin so to us $20 for a bowl of noodles is overpriced-- but the quality of the food is great. The broth is SO creamy and delicious. I like that they let me pick any level of spicy for the noodles. The service is friendly and quick. This part of Austin is very trendy so there were lots of young folks. Anyways-- they are tasty!

Yelp
Marufuku Ramen has a solid happy hour food menu. We've indulged during HH a few times--nice to kinda have an early dinner occasionally. By now we've pretty much ordered all the HH food items. Everything has been consistently delicious and served at the proper temp. And affordable, thanks to their discounted pricing. Absolutely love their blistered shishito peppers, fried squid, chicken karaage rice bowl, octopus (takoyaki) and gyoza!
google avatar

Beth C.

Yelp
Very nummy!! It is a small place with cool decor, very casual. I was shocked how good the ramen was. You order at the window and they bring you your gorgeous bowl of deliciousness. I highly recommend.
google avatar

Yelp
A popping ramen shop in Mueller. We were seated quickly and our waitress was helpful and knowledgeable. As she said their spice levels are lower than expected. I can typically get medium spice but always ask to be sure-wasn't spicy for me at all! I enjoyed my Hakata Tonkotsu DX I personally didn't eat the buta kakuni (braised thick pork belly) as I'm sensitive to textures and it was definitely fatty. But otherwise I loved my ramen I just wish it has been spicier and maybe had some more of the toppings. A table favorite were the pirikara bites-I wish they gave you more than 2! Overall I'd love to go again! I will note it's on the pricey side.
google avatar

Yelp
Great broth, thick chewy noodles. Tan Tan Ramen - Spicy Miso Ramen with Creamy Chicken Paitan Ground Sesame Broth Topped with Chili-flavored Ground Chicken (Spice Level Unadjustable) At $18 for a bowl, it's a little step compared to the other heavy hitters in the local area. Not a lot of extras like what Tatsu-Ya throws into their bowl at a base price. But, this is a different experience. It's a good experience. Worth checking out! It comes with Spicy level (you can't upgrade to Ultra Spicy, which makes no sense. I could see where you can't go backwards, but up in spice should be easy... Lettuce in ramen... some like it, some don't. I don't.
google avatar

Yelp
My first ramen experience in Austin! Overall, it was a casual and comfortable dining experience. Service was friendly and fast as many ramen restaurants are. My friends and I ordered their takoyaki and tonkatsu ramen. We also drank some sake shots! It's hard to mess up takoyaki but it was truly delicious. I enjoyed the warm, gooey filling, generous bonito flakes, and the octopus was the cherry on top. Ramen was pretty good too. The broth was flavorful without it being greasy. Toppings were abundant: black mushroom, pork, green onions, sesame seeds, and a soft boiled egg. I will say though that I was a little disappointed the egg wasn't ramen style. I do appreciate a good sweet soy sauce marinated egg. Great place to dine with friends or go on a date. I'll be coming back again to try more of their menu!
google avatar

Yelp
The best ramen I've ever had. And trust, I had a lot!! It's simple, traditional and the feelings of comfort that Japanese should have. Everytime I'm visit Austin I have to make a stop.
google avatar

Haley F.

Yelp
This was literally the quickest service I ever received. The ramen came out like 4 minutes after we ordered AND the place was relatively busy. Plus, the ramen was really really good. Came out at the perfect hot temperature too. Only flaw: I got the mild spice level and I was expecting a bit more. My friend got the medium and said that is barely spicy. Ranking: 9.8/10 This was only my 2nd time going to a ramen restaurant (1st time was Wabi House in Fort Worth and honestly I was not crazy about it.) Marafuku is setting the bar real high for other ramen establishments ... can't wait to compare
google avatar

Milannie C.

Yelp
Came here for lunch after spending the day at the Thinkery. Service was quick and straightforward. My child really enjoyed her meal and said it was better than Jinya which is always her first pick for ramen. My pork chashu was flavorful and a bigger serving than I expected. The gyoza was not bad, but nothing special. There are other better options for ramen in the area, but not a bad meal.
google avatar

Paulina A.

Yelp
Still looking for my go-to ramen spot in Austin that isn't Ramen Tatsu-Ya. Stopped in for Valentine's Day lunch and it was not busy at all. Service was prompt and our waitress was friendly and very sweet. The space was clean and spacious with lots of light. Now for the food.... The broth was just not rich enough for me and I went with the medium spice to be on the safe side but when I asked if they had more spice on the side or chili oil or any spicy sauce to amp it up but all they had was cayenne pepper? Which isn't something I'm used to having in ramen. The gyoza were not very flavorful and didn't taste fresh. The noodles had great texture, thin straight noodles. I ran out of noodles and had a ton of leftover broth. But maybe I'd come back....and try the ultra spicy.

Yelp
A friend proposed that we go to Marufuku Ramen on NYE and, being a fan of ramen, my husband and I thought it was a splendid idea. And so we went and had ourselves a vegetable ramen. Now, when I usually order vegetable ramen, because of lackluster experiences at other ramen shops I've been to, I've come to expect that it'll be a tasteless version of their meat broth. So I usually don't hold my breath too much. Behold! I was positively surprised last night! Marufuku's vegetable broth is EXCELLENT. Probably one of the best I've ever had, in fact. Their noodles are perfectly cooked as well, al dente. The ramen bowl is topped with tasty vegetables and some deliciously marinated tofu, along with a perfectly soft boiled egg, which is the cherry on top. Wow! Previously my favorite ramen in Austin was Ramen Tatsuya but I must now report that it's been utterly obliterated by Marufuku's ramen. It's superior in every way. Sorry Tatsuya, you have to up your game now. Or stay in the dust. The only thing that could make the experience better would be more vegetarian and pescetarian options on the menu. Other than that, service was good and the place was also clean, simple and inviting. Quick service. Always appreciated. Happy New Year!
google avatar

Joy G.

Yelp
Marufuku is a good staple ramen place in the area, and they're consistent in their quality and service. When it's peak mealtime I usually prefer sitting at counter in the back, as it can get quite loud and difficult to have a conversation at the tables. I usually order the tonkatsu, but this time I tried the spicy tan tan noodles and was pleasantly surprised! I think the broth is less salty than the tonkatsu, and having the squirt of lemon balanced the richness. My favorite part of any ramen is the soft boiled egg - perfectly runny! I will say it's hard to enjoy the ground meat with the noodles, it gets a little lost in the broth once you mix it. I would also recommend getting the chicken karaage as an appetizer here, very crispy and paired with a nice aioli.
google avatar

Gene B.

Yelp
Took my family out for lunch and Ramen seemed to be the popular vote. To my surprise, we found a legitimate Ramen shop in Austin! I'm often disappointed and so glad this wasn't the case. I ordered the Tonkotsu DX and I finished the entire bowl! I was impressed how great the Ramen was. They also make a really good chicken karaage. I really wanted to go back for a 2nd time but my stay in Austin was a short one. I commend them for their authencity. So rare these days. Customer service was great and the food came out quick!
google avatar

Yelp
Service: 5/5: Our waiter was friendly and very attentive. Our food came out pretty quickly after we ordered it. Ambiance: 5/5: cute small restaurant and beautifully decorated. Not sure if you can make reservations, but we showed up and waited about 30 min to get seated. Food: 4.5/5 The ramen was so delicious! Usually when I eat ramen I feel pretty bloated, but not with this one which I loved. Broth was tasty and the noodles were the perfect size. I wish they had more menu options and maybe a little more toppings. They do have toppings but each additional topping is extra $$. Overall, I really enjoyed it. Will definitely come back.
google avatar

Jo P.

Yelp
This unscheduled stop for lunch was one of the best dining decisions we made as we traveled down and up 35-thank you, fellow Yelpers! Do not sleep on the Vegetarian Ramen. It holds its own against creamy classics like the Tonkatsu as well as Marufuku's XD special. We slurped up every last strand and spent the remainder of our paid parking time at the playground down the street. Our attentive waiter let us know that they validate garage parking for 2 hours, for next time, which will hopefully be soon!
google avatar

Fleischmann O.

Yelp
This has been consistently slamming. Not only is my food always 100 - I gotta say, this is prob the ONLY place in town that understands a good kids plate. It's perfect. Both my kiddos love eating here which means I get to enjoy it even more. Also, the fried chicken is so delicious and meaty. It's my favorite. Well done! Now get more affordable Saki. :)

Yelp
I have heard their name back in bay area, California from friends but never got a chance to try it out. It just happened to be that I was looking for lunche places near my work and marufuku's name came in my search. Fast forward today, I went there for lunch today afternoon. Easy menu, as they had only one option for vegetarian ramen and not so much appetizers for vegetarian as well. I think the only choices was edamame. So we decided to skip the appetizers and go with two vegetarian ramens ($17 each). It came really fast probably because it wasn't crowded when we reached there but started to get after 12:30pm. Broth of vegetarian ramen was milk based, had two big pieces of tofumu, one egg and lots of vegetables, cherry tomatoes were my favorite. 1/1/2024
google avatar

Byungjin H.

Yelp
We ordered two ramen and the chicken. Ramen were really great. I highly recommend ramen but I don't think the chicken was good. It was very dry and hard also inside of meat wasn't soft enough. Visually chicken is 5 stars. Taste wise 3stars. But I would come back again because of ramen.

T. D.

Yelp
I came in angry about the small portions but left feeling completely satiated after one bowl of ramen. I got the vegetable ramen, which came with tofu, a soft boiled egg, red onion, arugula, and tomatoes. I was initially displeased because I wanted ramen and not an American salad, but the vegetables were all hight quality and tasty enough that it actually worked. They have a deal going on for October 2024 with free noodle refills, but I was actually already full after I finished one bowl. I am thoroughly impressed actually. I'd go back!

Yelp
I was visiting Austin for a work trip and was craving Ramen. I found this place on Yelp of course, and was immediately intrigued by how high the rating is. I mapped the address using the direct from Yelp and they were accurate despite a few constitution issues. I opted for street parking over the parking deck because there was plenty of availability along the streets. I paid for parking and parking at the kiosk and placed the ticket in my window. Upon entering the restaurant. I was immediately greeted and sat by the hostess/waitress. She offered to explain the menu until I advised, I had eaten Ramen before. I offered an appetizer (Potstickers) and the dish came out pretty quickly and was hot and very flavorful. My food came out very promptly and was once again hot, which I really appreciate. The flavor of the Ramen is so unique and intense. I enjoyed every drop! Overall, this was a very positive experience and I look forward to visiting again the next time I visit Austin.

Yelp
Decent japanese ramen place in Austin! I had Hakata Donkotsu ramen and I liked mild Donkotsu soup base. I really like noodles here - they are thin but have nice texture. Soft boiled egg was great too.I hope chashu was bit thicker, but not as thick as DX one. I chose medium spicy level and it was not very spicy - which I liked!
google avatar

Yelp
Had the DX ramen and it was solid. My latter had the veggie ramen and she enjoyed hers as well. The staff is supper awesome

Yelp
Uh, YES PLEASE! Shout out to our waiter Shalom for not only steering us in the right direction while ordering, but also for providing us 5* service throughout our meal. The restaurant is clean and well appointed. The bathrooms are clean. We had the best ramen I've had in Austin, and I'm kind of a ramen snob. The egg was perfectly soft boiled and the broth was spot on tonkatsu. You can tell they made this with love because it doesn't happen quickly. The pork belly was perfect!!! Shalom suggested their most popular dishes and didn't steer us wrong... I am definitely coming back. And if you can get him as your server, you'll be having a great night.
google avatar

Karen L.

Yelp
Best ramen we have tried in Austin. The broth was fully developed and ingredients perfectly seasoned. We went on a rainy weeknight thankfully so didn't have to wait. It's smaller than I thought, so probably a good idea to join the waitlist ahead of time during busy times. We also had some standard edamame and fried squid. Our server was great and zero complaints!
google avatar

Nicole G.

Yelp
If you're looking for authenticity, Marufuku is the spot for you. The tonkotsu is rich without being greasy, the chasu is soft and flavorful, they give you a whole ajitama (why is it so popular to only serve half a egg?), and the toppings pair perfectly with the dish. I ordered the DX version because I wanted the corn and nori (seaweed) and it came with a huge block of pork belly, which was promptly donated to my boyfriend. I'd say the $20 price point for this bowl is actually fair because of the pork belly. The service here is great. The kitchen incorrectly made a chicken paitan for us and our waiter gave it to us on the house. We had it the next day and it was really good, even though I'm not really a chicken ramen person. This spot is definitely worth a try and will be my go-to for ramen.

Yelp
new favorite ramen spot in austin! my friend and i visited on a saturday night and we were seated immediately. no reservations but yelp does offer an estimated wait time. we ordered the tan tan ramen, hakata tonkotsu, guavalicous and pink lychee cocktails. for starters, service was pretty quick. our bowls came out first and we were pleasantly surprised with how rich and flavorful the broth was. the tan tan ramen was not too spicy. we also enjoyed our cocktails, especially my pink lychee. the fruit itself was delicious. we appreciated how aesthetic both of our drinks were. thankfully if you park in the nearby garage, they do validate parking. the service, the food, and cozy ambiance made our experience memorable. we would definitely come back. love marafuku!
google avatar

Ryan B.

Yelp
This may have been the best ramen I have ever had. I had the hakata tonkatsu dx. The broth was extremely rich and just the right level of spicy. The noodles were a great texture. There was plenty of slow cooked meat. There were plenty of vegetables and even a pinch of pickled ginger that made such a great contrast. We also had the pork bao, which was possibly the best bao we have ever had. The chicken bao were also ok, but that pork bao just hit all the notes. Finally, the nonalcoholic puma colada was excellent. Service was great, and it wasn't busy at all on a weekend.
google avatar

Mellisa C.

Yelp
VANESSA IS AMAZING! She took great care of us and Explained the menu well! Delicious food!!! This was our first time and will definitely be coming back!
google avatar

Wendy B.

Yelp
The food was forgettable. Service was pretty fast. The echo in the place would knock you off your feet. It was crowded and unnecessarily loud. There was literally no reason on this earth for a 2 hour wait for a table and yet that's what we had.
google avatar

Thomas N.

Yelp
Marufuku has been on my list to try especially since I've heard the SF location is solid and usually has a line. Came on a Monday evening and it was only about half full so no wait. They specialize in Hakata tonkotsu style ramen, so I elected for the Hakata Tonkatsu DX which is almost $20 for a bowl. For select ramens you can choose your spice level and I wanted 2nd to highest level of spice. My buddy ordered the spicy Tan Tan Men Ramen. We got the gyozas and Marafuku bites (bao buns), both were good but nothing special imo. The Tan Tan ramen had a good spice level (this one you can't alter the spice level, it's a preset spicy ramen). My buddy said the ground chicken was just okay, would have preferred ground pork instead. He really did like his ramen overall. Unfortunately they messed up my ramen, came out with zero spice. The broth itself was tasty but definitely am a spicy type guy. They offered to remake the ramen but Since they were a bit short staffed I just asked for spice on the side. One of the waitresses was going to bring some then disappeared for a long time, so I had asked another waitress who brought over some powder spice (ground chili spice or cayenne) which was not spicy so I asked for an actual spicy sauce and whatever was brought out was more of a sweet spicy sauce as a glaze which ended up ruining the ramen. Kudos to the one waitress who tried to help me out she was friendly. Manager ended up comping my ramen since she knew my order was messed up and even offered to give me a to go order but i politely declined since they were short staffed and food took a while to come out. Synopsis: service was lackluster due to staffing shortage and possibly newer staff learning the ropes. But was taken care of by the manager. Will try again though one more time, which hopefully will change this to a higher rating.

Yelp
Who knew that one of the best ramens in Austin would come from a chain? Honestly, ramen in Austin leaves a lot to be desired. I came earlyish on a Friday and was able to get the chicken paitan, which was a perfect amount to split between two people with the extra noodles. The chicken was SCRUMPTIOUS, slightly sweet and super tender! The ramen itself did not disappoint either. I also tried the calamari and matcha cheesecake dessert, and both were top tier as well. I loved how upscale the interior was, but IMO the music kind of didn't fit the vibes. I'll definitely be coming back to try more!

Yelp
Yummy ramen wow. The service here was pretty good, our waitress left us alone for the most part but she was a bit hard to track down when we wanted to pay. The ramen was incredible. I got to Vegetable Ramen and it came it so fast. It was really flavorful and the noodles were the perfect chewy texture. I loved the egg and the balance of veggies with the ramen. The tofu was also really delicious, wish there was more of it. The apps were okay. We got the Takoyaki and Fried Shishito and Edamame. Nothing out of the ordinary. But the ramen - wow!!

Yelp
I recently visited Marufuku Ramen with a group of friends, and while the food was decent, the overall experience left much to be desired. Food: We started our meal by ordering the ika karaage and chicken karaage to share among our group, and they were both delicious. The crispy texture and flavors were on point, and it set the stage for what we hoped would be an excellent dining experience. The only downside was that they both came with the same mayo-based sauce, and I thought it would be nice if they had different condiments that compliment the different karaage. For the main course, I decided to go with the hakata tonkotsu ramen in medium spice, and one of my friends ordered the same ramen but with the spicy spice level. However, when our orders arrived, we were dismayed to discover that we had received two ramen bowls with no spice and mild spice, completely different from what we had ordered. Service: We promptly informed two different servers about the mix-up. The first server appeared utterly clueless and unsure of how to rectify the situation, which was quite frustrating. We then asked a second server, who had taken our order initially, hoping for a solution. Yet, he returned with the same exact incorrect bowls and simply suggested adding pepper from the table because that's what they supposedly do in the kitchen. Needless to say, adding pepper to the incorrect bowls did not magically transform them into the dishes we had ordered. My friend's ramen, which was supposed to be spicy, was nowhere close to the intended flavor. It was disappointing to see that the kitchen didn't take responsibility for their mistake. In terms of food quality, Marufuku Ramen does deliver some tasty dishes. However, the overall dining experience was marred by the mix-up in our orders and the unhelpful response from the servers. Good food alone cannot compensate for subpar service, and it's a shame that such a crucial aspect of the restaurant fell short during our visit. We hope that Marufuku Ramen can improve their service standards to match the quality of their food in the future.

Yelp
This place might just have the best ramen I've ever had. I had the 'Chicken Paitan'. It was so food I forgot to take a picture. The broth was flavorful, the chicken was tender (and they don't skimp out on it either.), the egg was cooked just right, it was just an overall experience eating this. Only thing I recommend changing is getting it on the spicy side, it adds an entire new layer to the flavor and takes it to the next level. This was a very filling meal and even though it was pricey, it was worth it. I enjoyed the place as well, the staff all welcome you when you walk in, the servers are knowledgeable about the menu, and the place is very clean. I cannot wait to make the trip back to Austin just so I can go to this place again!

Yelp
One thing I've heard over and over again about Marufuku is that they have the "best ramen in Austin" so of course I had to come and try it! My expectations weren't too high because I feel like so many different places have been claimed to be the best and they all feel very similar to me because ramen isn't really my favorite food. But my expectations were surpassed! The noodles were bouncy and not soggy, the egg was cooked to perfection, the meat was tender, but all this is decently standard. The star for me was the broth though - so delicious! The rice bowls are on the smaller side but honestly a decent size if you're not too hungry, especially since it's more than half the price of a ramen bowl. However, the rice was a little mushy in our bowl, so it was good but could have been better.

Yelp
yummy ramen. tried the hakata tonkastu with level spice as spicy. nice flavorful broth, tasty pork, right level of spicy. the ramen egg could be cooked better for an ajitamago as it wasn't as flavorful. i would recommend to swap out the dan dan noodles if you like thicker noodles. tried the matcha cheesecake, was yummy but could have a strong match flavor. service was good and attentive. fancy but casual ambiance, good for date night.

Yelp
Marufuku has won it's way as my new favorite ramen spot in town! I'm a huge fan of some of the more national restaurants that stem from New York or California, as the owners bring in nuanced flavors for the more refined palate. Marufuku offers a limited menu, with seasonal offerings. We pretty much ordered the entire small bites menu, but my favorite was the Takoyaki. The breading was delicate, the octopus was cooked to perfection, and the sauce drizzled on top was *chefs kiss*. As for the ramen bowls, the broths were flavorful and rich and everything served in the bowls were curated perfectly. Unfortunately, despite how brilliant Marufuku is, the service is horrendous and disorganized, and serving times are tedious. Other than service, 5 stars for food!

Yelp
Marufuku in Mueller is definitely a great spot, especially for a date night. The atmosphere is lively, and while it can get a little loud, that's to be expected in a busy space. The ramen was absolutely delicious, with perfectly cooked noodles and a rich, flavorful broth. The side dishes were also fantastic--tasty and quick. The servers were welcoming, friendly, and very attentive, making sure everything was just right. Overall, a nice spot for great food and a fun evening!
