Relaxed bar caters to a gay & mixed-orientation crowd with karaoke & DJs spinning alternative tunes.
"Mary’s oozes East Atlanta Village dive bar realness with its 1980s-style, pink glitter bar, intimate dance floor, and tattooed bartenders. Mary’s clientele has become decidedly more mixed-orientation in the past few years. However, one look at the posters lining the walls advertising past and future events (Queer Bait, Heat Stroke, Halloweenie, Bitch, Please!) will remind people this bar is not straight. During the week, visitors can enjoy drag and cabaret performances as well as great DJs. There’s Maryoake on Wednesday evenings, too." - Robbie Medwed
"Yes, we know some of us won't step foot outside Midtown's rainbowed streets, but this spot in the heart of the edgier East Atlanta Village is worth mixing in. On an average night, Mary's typically has fairly equal representation from every letter of the LGBTQ+ alphabet. Mary's is always a good time with regular events like drag shows, karaoke nights, and RuPaul’s Drag Race watch parties. We dig the ethereal glow cast onto the narrow galley-style bar by lanterns, colored string lights, and light machines that spit out changing patterns onto the floor. When the DJs get going, it feels almost psychedelic here. " - juli horsford
"Every Wednesday, starting at 9 p.m., Mary’s in EAV transforms its dance floor into a Mary-oke bar, where one could sing everything from Dolly Parton songs to Prince tunes." - Eater Staff
"Hosting a dance party tribute to the pretty boys of pop music on July 21, with a $5 cover charge, starting at 10 p.m. Costumes, hot pink, and glitter are encouraged." - Beth McKibben
