NYC’s New Restaurant Openings - New York - The Infatuation

"Mary’s is a cocktail bar in the Lower East Side that looks like the inside of an exploration ship from the early 19th century, with stained wood everywhere (the people behind this place, who also run The Commissioner in Brooklyn are apparently big fans). In an area with a lot of good bars, Mary’s looks more wholesome and neighborhoody than most." - Will Hartman, Willa Moore

This is a nice bar with good cocktails. They have good Brunch Specials and you can also order from the regular menu. I didn't try the food. The service is very good. I would come back and try some of the food.

Had such a great time here on a Friday night! Perfect place to grab a bite before you venture off into the night to a show or wherever! Wings were phenomenal and the giant pretzel is a must try!

Absolutely the most fun I have had in ages. Great bar with sports on and a large extensive menu. The drinks and food were on point. Best part is the hospitality. The owner himself was there taking care of our table. Shout out to Kevin! Be back soon !

Truly a great bar in NYC. My wife and I rented out the bar on a Saturday night to host our wedding afterparty here, and can't praise them highly enough. The bar owners and the rest of their staff were super nice and easy to work with, and they supplied a DJ for the event free of charge! The drinks are also fairly priced and the food is fantastic, highly recommend the pretzels and chicken sliders. Everyone had a great time and we will continue to go back to Mary's whenever we are in the Lower East Side.

Stumbled upon this place while walking around after dinner. The ambience just captured the energy we were searching for. Also, excellent service from Claire! Song choices were top-notch as well. Will definitely come back.

Went the first week Mary’s opened and had an excellent time. The long front bar is a classic antique wooden behemoth — perfect for posting up, hanging with friends, or watching a game. Bartenders were cool, professional and friendly. We didn’t eat, but the food looks great — high end pub fare. And the back room has a big screen and (are you sitting down?) a working disco ball… I think I’ll throw myself a big birthday party there!

Yelp
Newish bar in the LES with a neighborhood feel in the best way. Stopped by before 7pm and it was a super chill vibe. Nomz: Had the steak nachos to share and they were yummy, would def get again. Bartender also recommended the cheese curds. Drinks: We had a couple of beers and also margaritas which were on happy hour (weekdays 3-7pm). We were pregaming for despicable me and the bartender got creative and made us a super cute themed minions shot, with eyes and everything haha. (Shout out to Jimmy!! You are the best!) Service: Sat at a table by the window and the bartender came by with water and got our orders. Service was super great, above and beyond most bars in NYC - made you feel like an old friend was stopping by for a drink. Ambiance: Laid back, but put together. A couple of tables by the entrance/windows with natural light, followed by the bar and another section with tables towards the back. Nope or Dope: Dope, would love to stop by here again! And maybe it can be my new go to neighborhood bar :)

Yelp
The very first thing our Mary's server told us, on our first visit, was 'The food is way better than it has to be.' He was right, and I'll also add the staff is way nicer than they have to be (good thing) at this resplendent Orchard Street bar and eatery. Every single person from the doorman to the bartender to the owner who invited us in on our second visit seems like they care deeply about the success of the place. Our first visit featured particularly memorable cheese curds with marinara and a soft pretzel with beer cheese. Both were way more memorable than your average bar snacks, and enough to pull us back a second time on a night of bar hopping in the Lower East Side. On the most recent visit, we ordered jalapeño poppers and BBQ ribs; one of the managers came over to tell us these items were made in the smoker leftover from the previous restaurant. The ribs were good, but the real star were the vegetable fritters, which were addictive when slathered in BBQ sauce. I really liked the poppers - stuffed with pimento cheese - but my partner had feedback that they could've used more cheese. Regardless, I licked both plates clean. The space is beautiful and festive, and can easily fit large groups of friends. Highly recommended for a downtown get-together with comfort food bites before a night of bar-hopping.

Yelp
I came here around 10:30pm on a Saturday. It was just starting to get busy. They have a large bar with tables in the front and seating on the wall opposite the bar. They also have a back room with a giant disco ball and additional standing tables. When we first arrived, the back room was reserved for a birthday party, but it finished around 11 and was opened up to everyone. They have a signature cocktail menu. I got the gin gin mule. The ginger and citrus flavors came through nicely. The bartenders take the shaking of cocktails very seriously, which is fun to watch. The DJ was okay. He played top 40 interspersed with pop beats. Not many people were dancing, but it was fairly early so things might pick up later in the evening.

Yelp
Awesome happy hour spot with great service. Never too crowded, bartenders make awesome cocktails ($12 during HH!). Pretty solid draft list ($6during HH) too. There's a couple TVs playing sports along with a room in the back that houses more tables. Will definitely be back!!

Yelp
This place is epic. Hands down the best bar in the area, perhaps one of the best bars in the city. When you go ask about the origin of the actual bar in there. It's amazing. The drinks and service are fantastic and are beyond compare. The food is off the charts. The fries are made WITHOUT SEED OILS or any oil! There fries will blow your mind. The wings are very special. I think they are charcoal grilled.. at least they taste so! They are otherworldly. Everything on the menu is delicious. The pretzel and the BURGER! oh my. The place itself is stunning and offers a very cool & relaxed vibe. Perfect date spot! Perfect post work drinks spot. Happy hour is LONG and quality. Sorry, I

Yelp
This is such a cute bar to visit if you're in the lower east side area. They serve not only drinks, but a selection of food as well. The wings here were highly recommended and they actually use a smoker for it!! Drinks were well balanced and i would recommend getting the green tea shots. More refreshing than the usual green tea shots i have. The service was personal and friendly. We went on a Tuesday and there were several people at the bar. I can tell this place would be fun on the weekends with their massive disco ball in the back. Will definitely be coming back here!!

Yelp
Went the first week Mary's opened and had an excellent time. Rowdy, fun scene that night. Good looking place. The long front bar is a classic antique wooden behemoth -- perfect for posting up, hanging with friends, or watching a game. Bartenders were cool, professional and friendly. We didn't eat, but the food looks fantastic -- high end pub fare. And the back room has a big screen TV and (are you sitting down?) a working disco ball. Good spot for a private party or public tomfoolery of any sort.

Yelp
5/26/24 I randomly stop here to jut get some wings As soon as I walked in here, I got the feeling that everybody in here was a regular bartender seem to have a nice conversation with everybody at the bar a lot of smiles and laughter after i was almost done with my wings, someone came to check up on me and asked nicely if basically the wings were up to my standards, which they were i enjoyed them I didn't have anything else to eat and I had no drinks

Yelp
Just opened last week and I've been here twice already! Nice selection of drinks and all my favorite foods (had me at Wedge Salad). Will be back soon

Yelp
I came here with some coworkers for happy hour. We ordered a few appetizers and entrees as well. I will say, the food here is Awesome! You have some standard bar food like fries, fried cheese curds, and soft pretzels pretzels which were all good. I also ordered the Bratwurst for dinner which was no joke. It was super flavorful and definitely something that I would come back for. The drinks were also great here (I got the americano spritz) and the definitely have the best baby Guinness shots around. Staff was friendly and the overall vibe is very neighborhoody. Plus, they have a nice space in the back with a birthday party going on when I was there. Definitely recommend this spot!
