"This tiny roadside coffee shop specializes in exceptional Mexican breakfasts, in addition to our favorite bacon breakfast sandwich. They use fluffy Macrina buns as vehicles for a crackly-edged fried egg, chunky grilled onions, a swipe of aioli made slightly sweet by red chile sauce, white cheddar, and the crowning glory: a fistful of extremely well-done bacon. We’re talking an actual pile of bacon so crispy that, one time, a stray shard cut our face and we’re not even mad about it. No pain, no bacon, as they say. Originally a takeout operation that opened in August 2020, this cafe is now an ideal laid-back breakfast spot. Get the slightly spicy chorizo burrito: Packed with potatoes, cheddar cheese, pico de gallo, and a generous portion of peppers and caramelized onions, it gives off a Tex-Mex texture and flavor. "You come to Mas for the mess. This tiny Fremont spot with a gravel parking lot has two incredible breakfast options: loaded Tex-Mex style burritos with chorizo, potatoes, and all the fixings, and perfect breakfast sandwiches. The sausage sandwich is meaty, slightly sweet thanks to the aioli and huge caramelized onion slice, and has a crunchy green chile in it — the type of sandwich an Egg McMuffin wants to be when it grows up." - Harry Cheadle
