Place came highly recommended. We went for a late lunch on a weekday. Parking lot was mostly deserted and the space looked abandoned from the outside. The inside is dated but the restrooms looked clean so gave us some hope We all ordered from the lunch menu. The spicy shrimp and the jalapeño garlic chicken looked and tasted pretty similar and were decent. The beef chow mien was very basic. Looked like it had only beef and noodles with soy sauce. Very sub par. The mixed vegetables were actually the best item from the ones we picked.

Great, hot, flavorful food. See my pics. The pics I saw made me think twice about eating here the rice looked bad in the pics. But the rice was soft hot and tasted great! Amazing customer service. There was only 3 tables with customers. I will be back. The interior need updating. Not a fancy place. I would trim the trees and bushes out in font so people can see the place actually exists.

This was my second time visiting, and I loved the food and service. I’ve been to many halal restaurants around LA, so I can say the quality, quantity, and prices are spot on. In fact, the environment was very quite for family lunch or dinner. We ordered the honey walnut shrimp, the special three-flavor dough-sliced chow mein, orange chicken, and three-flavor fried rice but The honey walnut shrimp stole the show—it’s a must-have for shrimp lovers! The food looked so good that I forgot to take better pictures Lol. They also have Salaam cola. And their parking lot was so big. See you soon...

This is the type of food I always crave when it's chilly outside. Beef stew will warm you up an nourish. Their dumplings are very similar to Russian pelmeni. Flatbread is good too. They serve big portions, each dish from the menu (except dumplings) is enough for at least 2 people, so the price is reasonable.

MA’s House 🏠 is a Halal Chinese restaurant in Anaheim. The service is slow but the food 🥘 is good 👍. Large portions and moderate price. I liked the Mongolian 🇲🇳 beef 🥩 and the fried rice 🍚. The fried rice 🌾 isn’t too oily nor sticky. The overall smell of the place is good; no cooking odor .

I came to the Resturant to try eat a real halal Chinese. Food does not taste good. I couldn’t finish my plate. Beef was like a rubber chicken thighs in the orange chicken was also chewy and not tasty. I don’t recommend the place to anyone. I really was hungry and got disappointed .

If you know, you know. Ma's House Chinese Halal continues to be one of those comfort-classic spots I keep coming back to.. since 2009!!! Anaheim is my go-to, but they also have locations in Laguna Hills, San Diego, and Poway, with dine-in, takeout, catering, and banquet options--perfect for everything from casual meals to big family gatherings. Yes, prices have gone up over the past decade (as they have everywhere), but the lunch specials--ranging roughly from $14.50-$17.50--are still solid and come with an egg roll and steamed rice (lunch specials available daily except holidays; not available for takeout). Portions remain generous and satisfying. What to order (trust me): Lamb with pickled cabbage soup (large) -- feeds 8-12 people, slightly sour in the best way, loaded with hefty slices of lamb, and that sauerkraut-like tang is chef's kiss. Lamb with green onions -- bold, savory, and perfect if you enjoy that gamey lamb flavor (I do). Beef with green onions -- a more traditional, crowd-pleasing option. And don't skip the bread. Their thick sesame green onion bread is light, fluffy, and made for dipping. They also have thin bread and thin bread with red bean if you want variety. One of my favorite things? The diverse clientele--Muslim, Black, and various Asian communities all sharing tables here. It's a reminder of how food truly brings people together. Pro tip: Call ahead and order early--they get busy fast.

This is my go-to Chinese restaurant. The menu is extensive so there is plenty to choose from. However, there are some items that are very similar to each other (e.g. same sauce, same flavor, just different protein) so make sure you ask the staff or refer to the picture menu. Otherwise, the food is always fresh and delicious. This is also an Islamic spot so the food is halal -- an important distinction from your typical Chinese restaurant. I ordered their Three Flavor Sizzling Rice Soup for starters. Nice piping hot on a rainy day. Highly recommended! Today, I also had the House Special Beef. The beef was thinly sliced and drizzled with thin teriyaki (?) sauce, and presented on a bed of steamed broccoli. Also highly recommended. They have lunch specials daily, including weekends, that includes egg rolls, soup, rice and main entree. The jasmine tea is one of the best -- very aromatic. Just make sure you give it enough time to steep. The staff is friendly and attentive, and gives input on the food items you choose. The place is clean, with the decor unmistakably Islamic. There is ample parking on both sides of the restaurant. Note that the restaurant closes at 3 PM and reopens promptly at 4:30 PM.

Doesn't beat my favorite chinese spot in Diamond Bar, but I felt good eating here and definitely plan on revisiting. This visit was for a group lunch, we all ordered off the lunch specials menu. Plates contain decent proportions, enough to share with at least one or two others. Beef with broccoli: Classic and excellent mix. Dressed perfectly, damn near perfect taste every bite. Orange chicken: Would definitely take the cake as one of the best, but I feel some pieces of the chicken could have been prepared better for the crisp feel we all seek. Chicken fried rice: The rice looked dry AF but ended up being pretty good. I just wish the chicken pieces were cut smaller. Beef dumplings: A favorite choice for most. The flavor with texture mix did not hit home for me though. I failed at getting any photos of our food, but they all looked heavily appealing once delivered (minus the dry looking rice). The service was almost there, but disappeared once our food came. Didn't hear from a soul until she brought our bill. We were one of about 4 parties at the time, no one seemed under high demand.. They have a thick menu, so even though there are no pork choices, there is something for everyone.

My husband and I just moved to Anaheim from Tustin. Every NYE we eat Chinese and we wanted to try somewhere close to home in hopes it could be a new go to spot for us. We were so pleased with the food. I love that it's halal because although I'm not Muslim, I find halal dishes to be much better quality. Workers were extremely friendly and hard working. My favorite place for lamb and Chinese sesame pancakes! If you like lamb dishes, this is the place to go! Eg. Stir-fried lamb with cumin and lamb picked cabbage warm pot. Also you can't go wrong with their thick and thin (my preference is the thick version) sesame pancakes. It does serve other typical Chinese restaurant style dishes as well like orange chicken, etc. However my recommendation is always try something different as it is a Chinese I halal restaurant after all (eg. Cumin stir-fried lamb, lamb warm pot, etc). Since it is a family styles restaurant, most dishes are shared (aka. huge portions). Good service and ambiance. Great value as well considering the portion sizes. Worth checking it out!

I placed my order 2 hours in advance for take out and they didn't make my food until I arrived and I had to wait 45 minutes for my order while I saw other orders get picked up from people that came in after me. SHORT VERSION: good quality, delicious Chinese food that is consistent and great value. LONG VERSION: I have been going to Mas since 2012 and I have been at least 50 times - it is the original and still overall the best halal Chinese food restaurant I've been to across the country. After trying almost all of their items on the menu through the years, almost everything has been delicious - there was a dip in quality about 5-6 years ago but it has been consistently excellent for the last 5 years that I've been going. My personal favorite and go to items are: 1) chicken corn soup 2) orange chicken 3) garlic jalapeño chicken 4) filet mignon beef, 5) Mongolian beef 6) sole fish filet with spicy black bean sauce 7) honey walnut shrimp 8) home style thick chow mein noodles 9) green beans or cabbage with mushrooms. The restaurant is not super fancy but has fast service and there's big tables making it ideal for large family gatherings which we have had there many times. The portion sizes are large so the value for money is great compared to other restaurants too. Overall, I would highly recommend and hope it stays open for years to come!

I will say that I have had inconsistent experiences with the dishes being good some days and being sub par other days. They are fairly priced and have good portions for sharing. This location has ample parking and seating inside. I will say that sometimes service is slow to get drinks/water, which I have consistently noticed. Otherwise, I recommend for your halal Chinese food fix as it gets the job done!

Found this place after searching for Chinese food in an area surrounded by Korean food. Pretty random location and I almost missed the turn into the parking lot. Plenty of parking when I went on a Monday at lunch but maybe it fills up a bit more in the evenings or weekends. Staff was friendly and helpful and their decor in the main lobby goes hard. I make rice at home so just wanted to pick up 2 dishes to eat with it. I was reading through their online menu and saw they had a relatively good lunch deal for $13.99+ depending on which dish you get. I got the shredded chicken which comes with some vegetables as well as an egg roll and that was $13.99. Additionally picked up 2 other pretty authentic dishes for about $15 each that tasted great and came with large portions. They have a lot of other items on their menu and I'm sure patrons can easily find something suitable to their tastes. I'm moving from the area soon but if I stuck around, I'd be back often.

I have been coming here for YEARS and I absolutely love this place. I love the family style tables and although the decor is not super modern, I like it because it has a cozy vibe. I have yet to try something here that I don't like. Their soups are great! My favorite was the this soup with fluffy egg whites on top and it had chicken and shrimp inside but unfortunately they don't serve it anymore. I do love their hot and sour soup! Their three flavored fried rice is delicious. I also really like their sizzling black pepper beef. Honestly anything you order here is really good, and portions are generous!

Was recommended this place from a friend. Food: 4/5 We ordered the noodle in brown sauce, green onion pie, and cumin lamb. The green onion pie was basic, but paired well with their chili sauce. The cumin lamb was flavorful and not too gamey. However, the noodle in brown sauce was very bland. We had to add chili sauce, pepper, and soy sauce for flavor. Ambiance: 5/5 The decor was very traditional. It Hua's beautiful architecture. There is plenty of seating and I think they had an area in the back for large parties. Service: 5/5 The servers were super friendly! The food came out really quick. And the staff were great. I wouldn't have found this place if it were for my friend's recommendation. The food we ordered wasn't the best, but I would come back to try their other options.

Solid place, jam-packed and popular on a Tuesday night. Ma's House serves up all kinds of halal Chinese classic feel-good dishes. We had chicken corn soup, sesame chicken, Mongolian beef, and washed it down with some Salaam Cola. The building is unique, with a nice fountain in the front waiting area. The tables have lazy-Susans. The staff is impressive - they were buzzing all over the place like hummingbirds. It was hard to keep up -- Since this was a holiday evening, they were going from tables, to dishes, to cashier, to the kitchen, and cleanup. All while being very polite and dilligent. The food was solid and speedy. What more do you need?

I've been gong to mas for over 20 years. Whenever I drive to Los Angeles or through Los Angeles to another state I pick up food from mas. The food is clean - I've gone to Chinese food restaurants where it's saturated in sodium. I haven't ever experienced that here.

I remember coming here many many years ago as a kid and was happily surprised that it was still open! It's family friendly and good for large parties, but the service is a bit slow. It looks the same as it did ages ago, so it doesn't feel like the cleanest of places. Our waitress spoke Mandarin and surprisingly also Cantonese. If you know what to order, the food is really good. Since it's been so long since we've been here, we had a few hits and a few misses. We should have asked for recommendations. Once we got a chance to order, the food came out relatively fast. The hits were: sesame pancake, sizzling beef platter, and hot and sour soup. The first two really complemented each other. The misses were the fried chicken because it was small and the meat was dry, and the assorted warm pot. The warm pot wasn't necessarily bad tasting but it was a lot of fish balls and was more of like a Japanese nabe. The pea sprouts were good and fresh. The portion sizes are decent for the prices so it's really good for family style sharing.

I've been eating here for a while , and over the years , the food quality has simply gone down the drain. You can tell they use a lot of msg and the meat is definitely lab meat, it's not real meat for sure, it's so rubbery and hard to eat as shown in the pic. So disappointing. It's been a minute since I've been to Ma's House, and as always I was not disappointed. My party of 4 was immediately seated despite it being pretty busy on a Sunday afternoon. We immediately ordered our favorite dishes, including the Kung Pao Chicken, Mongolian Beef, and Shredded Chicken with Spicy Sauce. Despite service being pretty slow (think they have 2 servers for the entire restaurant) our food eventually arrived piping hot. The chicken corn soup was as flavorful as always; I recommend adding some soy sauce or chili oil for extra flavor. The egg rolls (which took the longest to come out - even longer than the main dishes) were alright. The Kung Pao was absolutely delicious, nice and sweet with a crispy exterior. Portions were also very generous. The Mongolian beef was nice and tender. The shredded chicken was not too bad, but it was a little heavy on the vegetables. Overall, it was a very pleasant experience. My only qualms was that you have to pay for oolong tea now, the service was a little slow, and the whole restaurant filled with smoke twice when people ordered something that came on a sizzling skillet.

A nice find in the local area. Seeing that it had +1k reviews we wanted to give it a try. Very unique. I don't think I've been to a Chinese restaurant that serves halal. Pleasantly surprised that their menu serves more variety than the common dishes you see all the time. We ordered their lunch special eggplant w/ spicy sauce (w/ meat comes with ground chicken) and lamb w/ sa-cha sauce. Portions are generous. You definitely get value and bang for your buck when eating here. Lunch special comes with soup, egg roll, and steamed rice to accompany your main entree. Inside is clean and spacious with big tables so you know they're used to being able to serve big parties. The servers are very polite and kind ladies. Overall it was a great experience and would definitely come back to try more things.
