Excellent service from the start as you walk in and greeted by the hostess. Our waitress, Ava, was exceptional, attentive, polite, friendly, courteous and professional. Great ambiance, clean, modern decor. Black walls with some awesome artwork. Good variety on the menu. Some trivia from our Ava: everything, all of the foods served are made from scratch including the bread, desserts, sauces and spreads. The pastry chef was featured on the Food Network. Our appetizer, entrees and desserts were prepared perfectly. The roasted bone marrow was outstanding and to die for. Presentation, temperature, seasoned and absolutely delightfully delicious on all of the dishes. A bit pricey but worth it. Comparably less than other high end steakhouses in Boston without the hassle and expenses of parking. Excellent restaurant with nice touches for that special occasion and celebration as well as regular dining. They definitely know how to do it up right. Highly recommend. Will definitely return to sample the other items on the menu.

The food at Mason’s is beautifully plated, with an impressive variety from oysters and grilled prawns to pasta. Flavors were solid, and the cocktails were well-balanced. The steak was nicely cooked but could’ve used a bit more refinement, while the seafood dishes were fresh and creative. Unfortunately, the service left a lot to be desired. We waited quite a while between courses and had difficulty locating our server throughout the meal. For the price point and upscale ambiance, the overall experience didn’t quite meet expectations. I’d consider returning for the food, but only if the service improves.

Absolutely amazing service & food! I was just here last week for brunch and was excited to bring my partner here for his Father’s Day dinner! I wish that I had asked the waitress her name as she was patient and very attentive. I have added photos of the food which EVERYONE bite was delicious and filling. We also did strawberry lemon drops 🍋 and they were great as well. I would definitely recommend this restaurant!

I brought my mother for Mother's Day. I would give more stars if I possibly could. Everything from the restaurant itself, food, wait staff, and even other diners was phenomenal. The restaurant is fabulous. If I did not live so far away, I would love to go and relax at the bar. It looked so inviting. It is a cool, chill place to meet friends after work. The food is amazing..... cooked to perfection and plated fabulously. Your head will be on swivel to see what other tables are enjoying. I have my next visit planned. The steak was tender and juicy. The shrimp were large and perfectly grilled. My mother had the Masons Eggs Benedict. She thought it was the best thing she had eaten.....until she had dessert. I had the cherry blossom. Both were knockouts. The service was top-notch. Ava was attentive and friendly. She made sure the avocado allergy was taken seriously. Sarah and Emily gave us updates from the chef on what dishes were safe. This is a place to relax and enjoy the ambiance with delicious food. The atmosphere was great. The people next to us had been to Masons before and could not say enough about it. We all were laughing and scoping out each other's food.

A new upscale, elevated steakhouse has opened in Quincy, bringing a refreshing and much-needed addition to the local dining scene. The atmosphere is contemporary and stylish—exactly the kind of spot that Quincy has been waiting for. It’s perfect for a date night, anniversary, or any special occasion. The restaurant features two levels, and we were seated on the first floor. The ambiance is sophisticated yet relaxed, with a moody and inviting vibe. We started our meal with several appetizers before sharing the bone-in New York strip as our main course. The steak was exceptionally tender and flavorful—generously portioned and ideal for sharing. For starters, we ordered the Mason’s Caesar salad, Wagyu ravioli, coal-roasted prawns, and wild Spanish octopus. Each dish was delicious and packed with flavor. If I had to sum up the meal in one word: flavorful. A quick note—the pasta in the ravioli was al dente; personally, I prefer a softer texture, but it was still very enjoyable. To complement our steak, we chose the crispy Brussels sprouts and baby potatoes as sides. The Brussels sprouts were perfectly roasted with a flavorful chili glaze, while the baby potatoes were tender and paired well with bacon bits and sour cream. This was one of the better dinners we’ve had in quite some time. Every dish left us impressed, and though we were full, we couldn’t resist ending the night with dessert. We tried the tiramisu baked Alaska. While creative, we found the mascarpone cream a bit too heavy and would have preferred a more classic take on tiramisu—it was probably our least favorite item of the evening. Overall, we were thoroughly pleased with the experience and are looking forward to coming back to explore more of the menu.

We had an unforgettable dining experience at Mason Steakhouse! From start to finish, Cody and his team went above and beyond to make us feel welcomed and cared for. The ambiance was beautiful, the service impeccable, and the food—absolutely chef’s kiss. The bone-in ribeye was cooked to perfection, the octopus was tender and flavorful, and the orange blossom cheesecake was truly to die for. Every dish was thoughtfully prepared and beautifully presented. A heartfelt thank-you to Julia, our server, who provided outstanding service with warmth, grace, and attention to detail. She made our experience even more memorable. We’re so grateful for the delicious complimentary appetizers, the welcoming atmosphere, and the exceptional care from the entire staff. Mason Steakhouse is a gem—and we can’t wait to return!

Absolutely phenomenal experience at Mason’s Steakhouse! We had the pleasure of trying a wide variety of dishes, and every single one was outstanding. From the start, the caviar bumps, prawns, shrimp cocktail (HUGE btw), and steak carpaccio set the tone with fresh flavors. The Rockefeller oysters were rich and perfectly prepared. And their bread is delicious too. The main courses were just as impressive, my husband couldn't stop raving about the truffle Alfredo, and the wagyu flight was a true highlight with freshly grated truffle on top. I especially loved the baby potatoes (a personal favorite!) and the potato purée and mac and cheese were creamy and decadent. The filet mignon was cooked to perfection, and our fabulous waiter even offered to have it butterfly cut, something I didn’t even know was an option! That level of attentiveness and care really stood out. We also enjoyed the spice roasted carrots, Caesar salad, and the finishing touches of the night, the ice cream flight (honeycomb one is so good!!), chocolate mousse, and affogato, were the perfect sweet ending. Service was top-notch from start to finish. Our waiter was kind, knowledgeable, and incredibly helpful throughout the evening. Highly recommend Mason’s Steakhouse for anyone looking for top-tier food, exceptional service, and an all-around memorable dining experience. We will definitely be back!

Google
This is one of the best steakhouses I've ever been to. The food is incredible, the drinks are top tier and the service is impeccable (Co and Eric were great!). The staff is attentive, kind and have great recommendations if you’re unsure of what you want. They have a sommelier if you need a wine recommendation with dinner. We love coming here for apps and drinks (TJ is an amazing bartender) or special occasions. 10/10.

Yelp
had one of the best steakhouse experiences I've had in a long time. The food was outstanding -- perfectly cooked steaks, sides that were flavorful and fresh, and a wine list that paired beautifully with the meal. What really made the night exceptional, though, was our waitress, Ava. From the moment we sat down, she was warm, attentive, and genuinely friendly. She gave thoughtful recommendations, checked in often without being intrusive, and made us feel completely taken care of. It's rare to find service that feels both professional and personal, but Ava absolutely nailed it. If you're looking for a steakhouse that delivers not just great food but also great service, ask for Ava -- she'll make sure your night is memorable.

Yelp
This was my third time going to Masons for dinner and I wish I could go every day! First, the restaurant is gorgeous, so well done with beautiful pictures and great seating and tables. Second, I can't say enough about the staff. The service is always spot on! Xavier, our server, was so attentive and friendly! He recommended the best appetizers and entrees for us, especially their new crab fried rice! The three of us shared the tomahawk steak with the spinach side which was so flavorful. Xavier also suggested some great drinks that were perfectly matched to our dining options. Can't wait to go back!!

Yelp
Set in a former Masonic lodge, the appropriately named Masons Steakhouse is a newly established gem in Quincy Center. The grandiose interior is complete with vaulted ceilings and stylistic decor giving off a vibe that would be right at home in downtown Boston or the ever-trendy Seaport. When I arrived earlier this evening, I was early for my reservation, so I headed for the bar to wait. One glance at the drink menu and of course my eyes landed on the hickory smoked old fashioned and if there is one thing my readers know, a Smokey old fashioned is a personal favorite. So I ordered one along with some shrimp cocktail to keep me company while I waited for my party. Once everyone arrived we took our seats and dove into the menu, ordering a number of things the way my supper club usually does. We ordered the razor clam ceviche, porcini mushroom meatballs, squid ink seafood pasta, truffle Alfredo, blue crab fried rice, waygu ravioli, dry aged NY strip, prime filet, and the bone in ribeye to split and everything was delicious. Pro tip: They also offer a 3lb waygu tomahawk that we would have gotten for the table, but supply is limited and unfortunately they had sold out for the evening. Next time. Bottom line: from the service, to the atmosphere, to the mountains of delicious food, Masons is a Boston quality steak house nestled on the South Shore. Highly recommend.

Yelp
Excellent; as it should be for this price point! This restaurant is a great addition to Quincy's ever-growing food scene... My husband and I came here to celebrate his birthday. We started with the rockefeller oysters and shrimp cocktail. Both were amazing, but we were especially impressed with the black rock salt that was provided with the oysters. I've never had oysters served like that before and it was a nice touch! For my entree, I ordered the filet mignon (medium-rare), my husband got the ribeye and we shared the following: steak sauce flight, creamed spinach and baby potatoes. My steak was cooked perfectly and tasted smooth as silk. I absolutely LOVED the sauce flight!! It made each bite taste like I was eating a different steak! I don't know of any other steakhouse that does this. My husband licked his plate clean and raved about the creamed spinach; said it's the best he's ever had! For dessert, we shared the ice cream sandwich flight and chocolate cake. Ice cream isn't really my thing but the chocolate cake was rich, decadent and delicious! They also gave my husband these little bite-size puff pastries for his birthday (with a candle!). Absolutely check this place out for a special occasion :)

Yelp
Don't know what all the rave reviews are all about ...very dark ,everything painted Black. So dark I couldn't even see if bathroom locks were green or red to indicate whether or not it was occupied. Bathrooms were very clean with is a good thing. Also very cold. And I love cool ... Open kitchen was also spotless. We were seated in main dining room. I'm told there are other floors. We were offered a tour but our experience dining took a tad too much time. A scent of wood smoke permeated the restaurant ,which I like. Evidently the ovens they use burn oak. Greeted by pleasant hostesses. The night started off well. Sat right down and served drinks promptly. They offer locally brewed Breakrock beers which is nice .... Waitress was pleasant and helpful with menu . The rolls were almost like pop overs with a sweet glazing on top . Very fresh and warm. Now comes the hitch. We ordered a 2nd round of drinks that took at least 1/2 hr to get. It was an omen of what was to come. Apps were ordered and arrived at a reasonable time period. Lobster Bisque was pretty good. Not just a soup but actually has small pieces of lobster and apple bits that added a unique flavor. The Beef Carpaccio was delish. The shrimp cocktail were chilled and a good size. We order entrees and waited prob close to an hour before they were served. No idea as to the delay ,especially since the dining room and bar weren't to capacity. The rib eye at $68 was just ok. I ordered Med Rare and it came out mooing. Other entrees were the strip steak also undercooked and a pork chop I'm told was good but a smaller size than expected . Mac and Cheese side was delicious. . Ordered tiramisu that took almost 1/2 hr to get. At this point we were at almost 3 hours since seating and just wanted the bill. The whole experience wasn't good....especially when greeted with a $460 tab ... With other higher end restaurants in surrounding cities ,the competition is great. Maybe we just had a bad nite. I would have figured all the kinks would have been worked out after 6 months since opening.

Yelp
This is my 2nd time here and it's Dine out Boston week! I took my son here back in January for his 21st birthday and love the place. The service is efficient. The staff are very helpful and well trained. The restaurant is very clean and the layout and the decorations are tastefully put together. The food is amazing and quick. The desserts are to die for!!! For all that I am planning to come back again for the 3rd time and fully taking advantage of Dine out Boston week

Yelp
I recommend the: Lumache Allo Scoglio, truffle Alfredo, Spanish octopus, Brussels sprouts and creamed spinach. Would come back for their pasta!! Valet available across the street.

Yelp
Best way to celebrate Father's Day is at a fancy steakhouse! I made a reservation ahead of time and we got the time that we wanted. Parking was very easy to find. There's either street parking or a little public parking lot right across the street. The inside felt very luxurious, but also cozy at the same time. Very spacious and that is very important for our party because we have a baby stroller. I have to say that all staff were wonderful- everyone was extremely friendly and greeted us as we passed by. It's a very welcoming feeling. I like that they were very attentive and thoughtful when I put the comment on my reservation that we have a stroller. I did call ahead to confirm and they said that there is a corner table that is spacious and can accommodate our situation. It was relieving to know that they are understanding of this. For starters, we received complementary soft bread. It was very fluffy and the butter that came with it was delicious. Reminds me of the well-loved Texas Roadhouse breads but more unique (if you know you know). The wild spanish octopus was a light dish and I like how it was cut into pieces. It had a lot of flavoring. The bone marrow is a must try- the garlicky bread it comes with was very soft but also had a subtle crunch. It went so well with the fatty bone marrow and all the additional spices it comes with. For entree, I ordered the classic bolognese. It had a lot of good flavors and it was a decent amount! The noodles were cooked well, not too soft and not too hard. The noodles and sauce proportion was great. The steak was also delicious- we got the bearnaise sauce with it which was a white creamy sauce. For sides, we got the crispy brussel sprouts. It is a good snack for the table. Has a little kick to it with the subtle spicy sauce. The potato puree is a must get!!! I love mashed potatoes and they made it so well here- creamy texture with just enough buttery taste. We ended it off with a chocolate torte dessert. I love that it has crunchy bits inside. I have nothing bad to say about this experience and can't wait to return!

Yelp
Don't walk.... RUN. LISTEN. If you are looking for a special evening and money well spent, this is your move. This restaurant exceeded my expectations beyond measure. From start to finish the staff members were pleasant and polite. My husband had called ahead for our anniversary and they delivered. They set up an adorable table and had a card waiting for us. The meal... IMPECCABLE. Not a single complaint to report. Every single item was honestly perfect. This place is expensive but it is worth every penny. The drinks were amazing as well ! Sarah the manager came to our table and honestly made the evening. (Not to mention our incredible server who was also amazing) but Sarah stood and explained to us a few facts about the pasty chef and the cuts of steak and their origin. I cannot WAIT to go back here and tell everyone I know how Amazing it was.

Yelp
As a new restaurant, the staff is friendly and well-trained, I introduced each item on the menu, but the place was a little loud that I couldn't hear, and we were seated on the 2nd floor. Coal Roasted Prawns (Harissa, Lemon Aïoli) - $27 Overpriced just for two shrimps. Wild Spanish Octopus (Almond Skordalia, Red Olive, Pinot Noir Syrup) - $22 It was soft and had a light flavor. This probably the best octopus dish i had so far. Roast Bone Marrow (Fig Jam, Citrus Supremes, Country Toast) - $32 It was delicious garlic toast, but I still flavored the house bread more. I like bone marrow, but this dish was on the saltier side, even though they added citrus and fig jam to refresh the taste. Lumache Allo Scoglio (Squid Ink Pasta, Rock Shrimp, Scallop, Lobster, Chili Oil) - $38 You must try it if you like pasta and spicy but a little too much sauce. Pan Roasted Duck Breast (Cashews, Sweet Potato Korma, Cranberries) - $38 It was tender and well-seasoned and paired well with the sweet potato. Bone-In Ribeye (18 oz. / Prime) - $68 Juicy and tender. They cut it for us since we are sharing. Red Crab Oscar (Asparagus, Bearnaise) - $23 There was too much cream that covered the crab taste. Cherry Blossom Tree (yuzu diplomat, sakura sponge, cherry cotton candy) - $18 It was a beautiful presentation but not my favorite since I am not a big fan of cherries. Chocolate Flower (catalan crema, macerated persimmons, mandarin orange creamsicle) - $18 It's creamy and not sweet, with a strong mandarin orange flavor and a beautiful presentation.

Yelp
Great Food, great service. Got the NY strip and a few sides. cooked perfect. Sat at the bar and the service by Zach, Katie, and Jack was quick and clean.

Yelp
A wonderful first time experience. Came for my birthday and was sat with a birthday card already on our table. We ordered from the dine out Boston menu and loved everything! Service was excellent! They ended our meal with a complimentary birthday treat! Highly recommend! A cozy urban fine dining ambiance.

Yelp
Beyond the gorgeous entryway, Masons stands out in the area for its vibey, modern, upscale take on a steakhouse. Friends and I participated in the New Year's Eve celebration, and my, what a stunning establishment it is. Nuts and bolts: some street-side parking, but the lot across the street waived the $25/night fee for folks. Resy in advance for the busy evening. Promptly seated in a packed space (upstairs wasn't tho). Food: 4/5, I wish the lighting were better on the entree pics, but we had a few apps ($15-25) and pastas/duck ($25-45 each). For a busy service time, it was a very creative menu with solid execution but nothing particularly memorable other than the incredible presentation, again with the caveat of a busy NYE dinner. Portion sizes exactly what you'd expect from fine dining (ie relatively small). Desserts ($15-25) were gorgeous and worth the picture but more intensely sweet than I'd like. Perfect for a cocktail night out with friends or a date night. I get that NYE night is a challenging service period, and the staff were incredibly engaged. Will return for a special occasion to try more of their exciting menu!

Yelp
I had the chance to go back a second time, the service and food felt much more refined. Im glad they were able to take in my considerations to train the staff more and better prepare them. Food: we ordered lobster bisque, which was very flavorful with a hint of nutmeg. Delicious! For entree we got A5 Japanese Wagyu beef and Bone in Ribeye. Both were very juicy and tender. My wagyu was full of flavor itself and did not need any sauce or other condiments to add flavor to it. The masons steak sauce accentuated the ribeye and was very delicious and full of flavor as well. We also got side dishes of Carrot and Asparagus super yummy! Lastly, for dessert we ordered an affogato vanilla ice cream and earl grey pavlova. Was not entirely a fan of the earl grey pavlova because I don't like berries in general, but it's definitely worth to give it a shot! For drinks we ordered the Quincy classic and Clos du Val. I like my drinks very sweet so the Quincy classic was PERFECT for me. It was like drinking juice haha, I know... it's not healthy, but that's how I like my drinks! Service: the service provided by our server Perry (sorry if I spelled your name wrong!) was excellent! He was very knowledgeable with the menu and so was the manager for the steakhouse! Perry was also very attentive like seeing that one of the food runners did not bring a soup spoon for my lobster bisque, he saw from afar and brought it over immediately. He was very nice and friendly, I would definitely like him to serve us again! Ambiance: this time we got seated in the main dining room which I was looking forward to the first time. It got very busy starting around 6-6:30. The place was packed at this time and we got here at 5pm. It was lively and very spacious still even with the room packed. Food still came out in a decent amount of time and people around seemed to really enjoy the food. The bathroom was also VERY clean and smelled so refreshing! I was in love with the candle smell that they lit lol. Overall, thank you for providing a better experience for me and I will be sure to bring my family next time and friends!

Yelp
Got a chance to try Mason's over the weekend. I was impressed from the exterior to the interior, such a vibe! My espresso martini was great. Most food had great flavors, but since I'm on the steak enthusiast I wish the steak was more on dry aged side. Desserts were yummy and its presentation was very cute. The staff were friendly and attentive. We will definitely come back to try more dishes in the future.

Yelp
Splurge worthy and perfect for any special any occasion, Masons smashed it out of the park when it came to delivering a high end steakhouse experience. The food: the steak here rivals any other top notch steakhouse in Boston. The bone in ribeye was melt in your mouth tender with the perfect amount of fattiness. The cook was spot on and I was a big fan of the ponzu sauce. My wife couldn't stop talking about the duck breast either. I had a bite and it was so tender and well seasoned. Oh and you must get the Mac and cheese. It had a nicely baked crust and the al dente pasta had this amazing chew to it. It wasn't heavy at all and reminded me of the baked mac and cheese I grew up with in the South but better. Please save room for dessert. We got this dessert shaped as a cherry blossom tree that was straight up a piece of art. It looked like something out of chefs table - tiny flowers and gold flakes nestled in a cotton candy tree canopy. Tasted amazing. Ambience: The ambience is completely unexpected for Quincy. Tall ceilings, dim lighting, and a dark interior sets up the classic steakhouse atmosphere that says classy and intimate yet can be appropriate for a girls night out. The decor is tastefully done as they did not skimp on the budget here. They also set the place up to have lots of large groups. Big booths and long tables welcome big parties. Every other table was celebrating a birthday so we saw lots of candles come by. Oh and the backlit bar is beautiful. You can definitely just stop by here for drinks and enjoy a sleek bar with a tv with the game on. While you do want to dress up a bit to go, it is by no means stuffy. Did I mention this place used to be a Mason's lodge? The outside of the building is gorgeous. Huge columns and intricate designs along the facade welcome you. Service: Our server, Travis, was incredibly nice and helpful. Our entrees did take awhile to get ready but they comped a glass of wine for us without us even asking and brought over a sorbet palate cleanser to keep us busy. I even saw the manager come by one of the other tables to write down feedback on how to improve the restaurant. Anyways I'm glad to see that a legit high end restaurant is now available in Quincy. It's nice not having to drive into Boston if I am craving a nice meal and cool spot.

Yelp
Great food and customer service! 2 of the best French 75s I've had in awhile! Can't wait to get back!

Yelp
The food was top notch! The roasted carrots were a standout for sides. All the steaks were amazing - a party of 4 we each got a different cut and it was excellent. Desserts were some of the most creative, visually impressive and tasty. Highly recommend for a special night out or a comfortable evening with friends.

Yelp
Great new steak house in the south shore. Finally got to try it. Beautiful restaurant in a former Masonic lodge. They have valet parking across the street. They have two levels, downstairs more formal and upstairs more relaxed and for large groups. We sat upstairs, much brighter and less noisy. Out service was wonderful and the food was too excellent. One of the owners stopped by and welcomed us. Owned by the people who own the fuji sushi places. I had the bone in ribeye for my entree and my gf had the filet. They were cooked to the right temp and they use wood to cook their meats, which gave a nice smokey flavour to the crust on the steak. I enjoyed it and will definately be back.

Yelp
I feel like I need to say a lot about the one, perhaps because my expectations for a new declared steak house drew me to this location and a very cool building they decided to make there debut. So first the ambience, it's a nice place, but honestly , I do not want to see a TV bar so close to my table.( See pic from our table) Result, a loud atmosphere, and just not fine dining aside that NO table cloths exist for a place that feels it can charges 88.00 for a NY bone in strip. So overall, it is at best a 2.0 ambience... Maybe upstairs is better, but it was not open. Do not sit on bench closest to the bar. Design wrong, the bar looks nice, should rip out the bench dinner seat that backs up to it and create 1/2 wall, maybe a 20" glass on top ... Ok, now let's let to the food, that is why you are at YELP. Appetiser - shrimp cocktail. 3.0 .. 6 in an order Caesar salad ... You never saw one like this... Why try and get fancy, but it's not to split, the egg is silly, the crouton chunk ( like a small hard brick) is not practical, the dressing to heavy. Score 2.0 Dinner. Girl friend order Filet Minion - medium with char... It came as medium rare . I think they mixed up my request for med rare with her. Anyway I ate 1/2 of hers , it was ok... Solid 3.0 For me, I ordered a bone in NY strip 88.00 which as in any NYC steak house. It came out looking like a bone in ribeye, kind of round in shape and barely 1/2 thick. Med well, tough, just not a good cut of beef. No one can confuse a NY strip... That was not like any I have seen, and we eat all across USA , In NYC for 10 years, so spoiled. But score 1.0. the Mason sauce... Not good. For value this scores below a 1.0. We are from Hingham, Tosca does a much better job for less money. Boston, many choices, Moo,and Capital grill costs less than 88.00 much better. BTW ..the Caymus was 200.00 or 50.00 more than Tosca Potato Puree... Good, 4.0 Service 2.5. ( table maintenance poor, entree came out 2 min after my appetizer done, to fast, one should ask customer about timing) Overall value of dinner 1.0 Overall dinner 1.9 Not returning... Disappointed

Yelp
Went for valentine day dinner with my mom, friend & self. The place is really big! I love the layout and atmosphere. You can see the chefs cooking if you sit downstairs so I would recommend downstairs for esthetics. I ordered the ribeye steak with bone in medium well, the steak came out well done, very well done, I didn't enjoy the steak because it was overcooked for my taste, the Mac n cheese was dry, & the mash potatoes tasted instant like out of the box, My mom got the shrimp scampi she said it was very good 10/10, shrimp cooked perfectly, perfect amount of sauce on the spaghetti amazing dish My friend order the lamb chops with the mixed greens (cooked spinach basically with a cream sauce) her lamb chops were extremely over cooked, the spinach was okay you had to add your own salt The service was nice, I loved the coat check! Hostess was super friendly, our waitstaff was nice too, she could've checked in with the table a little more but it was busy so we understood The manager gave us 10% off the bill for the food being overcooked. They of course offered to cook it again but we waited a little while for our first dish, we didn't want to wait again. Parking is great! Very cute restaurant! Food needs adjustment.

Yelp
So I had high hopes- they do provide gf bread to start and it's very good (little sweet). The miso butter is not gluten free though which is what everyone gets. So make sure to get plain butter. Our server was aware of what is and isn't gluten free. I got a filet (made without the salt other steaks get as it's not gluten free) with the Mason steak sauce on the side, baby potatoes and the carrots. Asparagus or Brussels went gf, which was disappointing. I had to send my steak back as it was overcooked and the service was slow. The steaks were good (non gf friends had good meals) but wish maybe they had a little more flavor. There was 1-2 gf deserts but I did not try them. Hopefully next time service is a little better. Had to remake my steak as it was overcooked.

Yelp
What a disappointment. I had been looking forward to my first visit to Mason's for a while. I purposely waited, thinking by now they would have worked through the typical new restaurant opening kinks. Unfortunately, that wasn't the case. Food * Lobster Bisque - Came out cold. Not the end of the world, it happens... but not a great start. * Hamburger - Ordered medium-rare, but what came out was essentially raw with an odd flavor. Whatever blend they're using with the wagyu just didn't work. Honestly, it was the worst-tasting steakhouse burger I've ever had. * NY Strip - Looked fantastic when it hit the table, but ended up being tough and overly fatty. Not what you'd expect from a high-end steakhouse cut. * Roasted Half Chicken - A complete miss. It was raw and cold in the middle when we cut into it. They took it back, but instead of replacing it, they re-cooked the same piece and reassembled it before sending it back out. Very surprising for a steakhouse of this caliber. A chicken entrée isn't exactly a costly item--replacing it would have been the right move. * Positives - The oysters were great, and the spinach was excellent. Service * Bartender - Fantastic, really on point. * Staff - The team delivering food was attentive, friendly, and charming. * Management - Unfortunately, very "green." When a manager stopped by to ask how things were, I explained what happened. He apologized, offered a dessert, and then excused the issues by saying, "We've only been open seven months, we're still working things out." That floored me. Seven months is not an excuse for a high-end steakhouse. Even more disappointing: despite sending back a raw chicken and barely touching the burger, nothing was comped--not even a round of drinks. Atmosphere This was the highlight. Dark, classy, and stylish. Beautiful bar and seating--really well done. I grew up working in restaurants, so I know kitchens can have bad nights. I also know Sunday-Tuesday can be "B-team" shifts. But Mason's missed the basics across the board. Worse than that, the management showed poor judgment and didn't seem trained--or empowered--to do what's right for the guest. For me, bad food is forgivable if the service and management shine. Here, both failed. Mason's not only lost me as a customer, but also as someone who would have recommended them to others. A real letdown. - Adam

Yelp
Let me start by saying that the restaurant looks very nice inside ... good vibes and the staff are very friendly and welcoming Now the food is average. I do Definitely recommend that you experience the place for your self and please let me know your thoughts Would I return most likely not due to the fact that there are so many more restaurants that I still have to experience.

Yelp
First time at Masons Steakhouse tonight. Friends highly recommended this new restaurant in the old Masonic Temple in Quincy Center. To say it didn't disappoint would be a huge understatement! All of the staff were attentive, friendly, helpful. Our server, Eva, was on point! The perfect balance of warmth and professionalism. The decor, beautiful. The ambience, inviting. A top class experience. Great signature cocktails and incredible menu. Although there is a great variety of options, please don't forget this is a steakhouse. The bone-in ribeye, cooked perfectly and delicious. Roasted Brussels Sprouts with sweet chili sauce, outstanding! Do not leave without trying the Tiramisu Baked Alaska! We were graciously visited by the owners and introduced to the pastry chef, (and Food Network star) Robert Gonzalez! Thank you, Team Masons, for a fantastic evening!

Yelp

Yelp
Food was ok, wife and I ordered steaks, both medium, my steak was fine, hers was well done, ordered half dozen oysters and got a full dozen, best part, we ordered drinks and they came out when we got our food.. they make you work to eat too.. we had to walk up some dark stairs to get to our table and the atmosphere just changes. It's a different vibe upstairs and that's not good thing.

Yelp
Went for brunch this past Sunday. The place is elegant and whoever the interior designer is - A+. The service from Carlos made us feel like VIPs. He couldn't have made it any better for us, even giving us a tour of upstairs. All four of us enjoyed everything we ordered. My eggs Florentine was amazing!!! The cereal ice cream was not something I would've thought I'd like- but highly recommend!! We have made this our monthly brunch spot.

Yelp
Elegant, Delicious, and hospitable = to a Great Experience, is how I would describe our evening at Masons Steakhouse. We had a group of 9 people last night, tried Masons for the first time. We were impressed with the service, hospitality and food. The ambiance was very nice, although the music was a bit loud. It made it tough to hear each other among the big group. A special shout out to Tony, one of the Hosts who is so pleasant and hospitable. We will be back.

Yelp
Great service and delicious food. Arrived earlier than our reservation and was sat fast. The waitress Trish was fabulous and always came to check on us. Food was amazing and the aura of masons is bewitching.

Yelp
Absolutely Outstanding - A True Gem in Quincy! Mason's Steakhouse delivers on every level -- this place is an absolute must-visit if you're anywhere near Quincy. From the moment we walked in, we were greeted with warm hospitality and a welcoming, upscale-yet-relaxed atmosphere that set the tone for a perfect evening. This was our second visit to Masons and was as amazing as our first. On this visit we were celebrating our grandson's graduation from Bentley University, there were ten of us and everyone had an amazing time. The food was nothing short of phenomenal. The steaks were cooked to absolute perfection -- beautifully seasoned, tender, and bursting with flavor. Sides were just as memorable. The menu shows real care and creativity, and everything we ordered was top-notch. My younger grandson 8 and granddaughter 5 love the place and this was their second time here. Service was equally impressive. Our server, Xavier, was attentive without being overbearing, knowledgeable about the menu, and made excellent recommendations that elevated our entire experience. You can tell that all the staff takes pride in what they do. The ambience ties it all together -- sophisticated but not stuffy, with just the right lighting and energy. Highly recommend to anyone looking for quality dining, outstanding service, and a memorable night out. Mason's is five-star all the way! Dick Zajack

Yelp
Excellent from beginning to end! Went on Easter Sunday - was greeted immediately upon entering and brought to our table. The decor is so beautiful, you will just love it. The wait staff was impressive and very attentive. The food was out of this world!! We began with shrimp cocktail (they were massive and perfectly chilled) and a Caesar salad (delicious and perfectly dressed). I had the filet and my company had the NY strip - perfectly cooked and seasoned. We chose 3 sides because we couldn't decide, they are served family style. We chose the mini potatoes - creamed spinach and fiery Brussels sprouts. Absolutely delicious! We decided to look at the desert menu just for a glance since we saw the most artistic deserts being delivered to other tables. Even though we were full we couldn't resist so we went with the flourless chocolate cake. I tell you it was a work of art .. beautiful in presentation but incredibly delicious. We will absolutely be back again and again! Please treat yourself and make a plan to visit this amazing establishment!!

Yelp
Disappointing experience. Definitely one of the best aesthetic atmospheres that Quincy has to offer, but the service leaves something to be desired. Many of the waitstaff stand around and, we went on a less busy night, and it got to a point where it was almost awkward. Got the Filet Mignon and was disappointed in the cooking of the meat. Don't know if it was the quality of the cut or the seasoning but not impressed from a steakhouse. The sides were okay but nothing to write home about. Definitely expected more from a finer dining experience. Spent well over $100 and wouldn't recommend going back.

Yelp
My wife and I went to Masons for our anniversary and to say it was perfect was an understatement. The food and drinks were amazing but most of all the staff were awesome! Everything that came out of that kitchen blew us away. The drinks were spot on and everyone working there made us feel so special. We will obviously be going back!

Yelp

Vodka pasta with meatballs for Sarah, new york strip for me with fries, all cooked to perfection !! Baked alaska for desert so great!! Tried some of the craft cocktail's also great, wine list also impressive. The space is great, chill but super cool at the same time. we will definitely be back to sit at the bar with Becca an absolute pro!!

Yelp
The restaurant is absolutely beautiful. Downstairs is dark and moody yet inviting while upstairs is white and more casual. The service was great - Nicole was our waitress and she was attentive, professional, helpful, and very friendly. The starter bread is absolutely unreal - it's so good. We started with the Rockefeller oysters which had great flavor. For entrees we tried the duck breast and the veal schnitzel, both really really good. For sides we tried the fries - the black garlic aioli is out of this world good, and the roasted carrots were tender and delicious. Overall, great experience, great food, menu is well crafted and service is top notch. We're looking forward to going back!

Yelp
Was excited to try this new place and visited for my birthday dinner. The good: Beautiful stylish interior. Really spectacular. Front desk hosts were friendly and made us feel welcome. Appreciated that they noted it was my birthday and the dessert had a candle. Trillium on tap was a pleasant surprise. The rolls were delicious! I really enjoyed my steak - nice char on it and well cooked (but slightly overdone but not a huge deal) I really enjoyed being able to add bearnaise sauce to my steak. The desserts looked absolutely beautiful. So impressive! I liked that the Mac and cheese was small ditalini pasta. The not so good: Fries were soggy/not crisp They were out of the carrots so we got the broccoli in hollandaise. Kinda weird and the broccoli was soggy. Service was friendly but needed work. Long gaps between being seated and ordering. Lots of staff members in suits walking around (managers? Not servers) but fewer servers. Not sure what the suits were actually doing. Some errors like wrong beer (in a clearly different glass) being served and wrong sauces on the side. I was very excited about the pavlova but the meringue was quite dry and the filling - while pretty - did not taste that great. It was VERY expensive I'd give a 3.5 rating if I could give half stars.

Yelp
After being told how fabulous Masons's is, my husband and I snagged a reservation. It did not disappoint. Before I even get to the food, I'd come back based on the impeccable service alone. Hosts were so welcoming. And brought us to the second floor which was tasteful and a great volume for co version. The first floor was packed, and everyone looked to be having a great time. But I cannot overstate how fabulous our server, Bridget, was. Consummate professional. Attentive without being overbearing. Never rushed but never forgotten. Total knowledge of the menu. Perfect suggestions. And presented the wine like a pro. What really stuck with me was how she told us she enjoyed working there. That after eating there, she k ew she wanted to work there. That goes a long way with me. The owners were going to each table to check on the diners. Which I think is a very nice touch. Now the food. We started with a seafood tower which was so cold and fresh. And presented dramatically with dry ice. I got a huge kick out of it. We also had the green salad with ricotta salata, cashews, and a vibrant and sweet dressing. Salad was perfectly dressed, and the flavors were so balanced and refreshing. For our main courses, I had the buttery, tender, medium rare filet. My husband had the strip. Both were cooked to perfect temperature. I don't know how they got that much flavor into a filet. Usually you trade flavor for tenderness. But this was full of meaty umami. We had the Brussels sprouts and mini potatoes as a side. The sprouts were sweet and spicy and tangy and salty. All the flavors. But all distinct and balanced. And the potatoes were a refreshing change of pace from the big as your head loaded baked potato offered everywhere else. These were mini potatoes cooked perfectly and topped with the usual delicious loaded baked potato toppings. Basically each one was the perfect bite. The menu is familiar with a twist. And I can't wait to come back

Yelp
Had been looking to try Mason's since their opening, and so glad we did! The ambience was elegant and the perfect place to take our friend who isn't from the area. We came here on a Friday night, and realized we booked our reservation for the wrong day. The host were so amazing, they ended up making it work for us despite the busy night. We got the ribeye -- medium rare and perfectly cooked, truffle Alfredo -- A must!, And red crab asparagus -- so good!, as well as a few other items, but these really stood out, because of how well all the flavors paired with each other. We also loved all our drinks, my friend loves her old fashioneds , and said this might be the best she's ever had, so that was quite a statement. We ended the night with the cherry blossom tree, Which is the most beautiful dessert I've ever had, it was also surprisingly delicious and refreshing as well! If it wasn't obvious, we cannot wait to come back again.

Yelp
We went tonight for dinner and it was SO good. As Quincy residents we've been anticipating the opening for a while and it did not disappoint. I got their version of an espresso martini and it was delicious, my boyfriend also loved the Sangiovese. The complimentary buttered rolls they provided were AMAZING, we both agreed the butter was so good. We both got their 8 oz filet and it was cooked perfectly, the au poivre sauce we got on the side added a ton of flavor. The sides of mac and cheese and fries were also great. Larry was our server and the service was really good, for a waiter at a new restaurant he was so knowledgeable. The inside is gorgeous, I particularly liked how they have comfy velvet chairs at the bar. We will be going back again and again, highly recommend!!

Yelp
First time trying Masons after reading about it in the Globe. We will DEFINITELY be back. It was phenomenal. Everything from the ambiance, drinks, food, and service...was perfect. Such a special meal. Best steak I've had in Boston and it's not even close. The desserts were great, too. Worth the drive from the city.

Yelp
we came here for NYE and the food was amazing, we're so happy we finally got a steakhouse near home. Service was great and parking was easy. Food was phenomenal, my fiancé loveee their lamb chop and cant stop raving about it. Their pappardelle was my favorite. For dessert the affogato is a MUST.

Yelp
My friends and I came here after a long time of not seeing each other. I am not a steak eater, but that did not make the experience any less than perfect! First off, I need to mention how amazing our server Perry was. He was so great with a full restaurant and our group of 6 people. He recommended a lot of dishes that our group loved. If you have him as a waiter, you won't be disappointed. He was lovely. We had a bunch of apps (which are things I don't eat), but the people who do loved both the raw and cooked oysters. My husband especially loved the South Bay blonde raw oysters The octopus was delicious (so I'm told), and the beef carpaccio was a favorite amongst my friends. My husband loved the bone-in rib eye, and the Mason's sauce was amazing! The filet was amazing, and the pasta dish with scallops was highly rated. I had the salmon, and it was perfectly cooked! It wasn't the same as what was on the menu, which Perry told us before we ordered, and I highly recommend it! The béarnaise sauce was so good. I personally would have been fine without the trout roe, however, I do love that on sushi so it was just a texture thing for me. Nothing wrong with that dish at all. Two standouts for me were side dishes. The hand-cut fries were so good and the black garlic aioli that came with them was like a dream! It was so good! The mac and cheese was so rich, but amazing! I was sad they were out of the carrots side, so that will be on my list to try next time. The star of the night was the desserts though! You must get the cherry blossom! It was everything I want in a dessert, and I cannot explain it in words. Like heaven in my mouth! The cheery compote (I don't know the right name for it) in the center was such a pleasant surprise and the perfect bite! It was nice when one of the chef's came over to see how our meal was, and the pastry chef, Bobby is someone you need to check out! If you're looking for a fancy night out, I will highly recommend going here. Chef's kiss!

Yelp
Incredible! I went for my anniversary and I can't decide if the food or the service was better! Staff were friendly, knowledgeable of the menu and made tactful/tasteful recommendations; especially the pairings for our entrees. I will absolutely go back when I'm in Boston!!

Gabriela D.

Yelp
Carlos was amazing! Top notch service, ambiance, food, and drinks. The building is also very cool as well as an awesome event space that we saw after our brunch meal.

Yelp
Truly disappointed with this restaurant. While the food was decent, We have never had worse service at any restaurant. Unbelievably long waits between appetizer to main course, no attention paid to the table whatsoever, server was totally focused on a another, larger party and we never even recd the deserts that we ordered. The manager offered to give us gift cards, which we rejected If you're going to charge 'Boston' prices, you need to step up your game. Will not be back!

Yelp
Went to Masons with a group of 10 on an early Friday evening and service was outstanding. Ambiance was nice, they kept the layout of the old Masonic temple and some of the decor hints at the former purpose those rooms held. Each appetizer bite was delectable; we tried octopus, oyster Rockefeller and the mushroom dip. These dishes were worthy of high praise. On to the sides, we tried sprouts, creamed spinach, Mac n chz, potatoes and mashed. Highlights were sprouts and Mac. NY strip was good, though the au poivre sauce was a let down - the best bite was the lamb. I'm looking forward to revisiting Mason's with this knowledge and trying a pasta too.
