Hip Italian eatery in the Venetian Resort serving homemade pasta, seafood & meat plates, plus wine.
"Order the mandilli di seta, a handkerchief egg pasta with Ligurian almond basil pesto, at Matteo’s Italian Ristorante at the Venetian and have no regrets. Architect Thomas Schlesser of Design Bureaux created the look for this 152-seat restaurant that features a palette of orange and forest green with reclaimed wood tables. Art Deco-style light fixtures, concrete walls, and gray banquettes are found throughout the space. Matteo’s offers a chance to explore different Italian fare such as focaccina calda al formaggio, a pizza-like dish, in three variations, as well as dishes such as casonzei, a pork sausage and veal ravioli with sage brown butter; agnolotti with braised beef short ribs; and a divine porchetta." - Janna Karel
"Watch your pasta as it’s made inside the open kitchen in this modern Italian restaurant. Order salads like the Tuscan kale with radicchio, aged ricotta, and earthy toasted hazelnuts. Or opt for porchetta or almond basil pesto handkerchief pasta for dinner. When visiting from the convention center, park at the Palazzo for easier access." - Janna Karel
"The open kitchen at Matteo’s offers glimpses as cooks roll out and hand-cut delicate noodles for bowls of handkerchief pasta with almond basil pesto and saffron-infused pasta with butter poached Maine lobster. And the Tuscan kale salad makes for an excellent starter. Purple radicchio is finely chopped and tossed with aged ricotta, crostini crumbs, earthy toasted hazelnuts, and a tangy red wine vinegar for a bright beginning to a pasta-laden meal." - Janna Karel
"Matteo’s Ristorante is a casual spot in the Venetian serving straightforward pastas and pizzas. It’s a good choice for a meal with the whole family or picky eaters, since there is a great kids menu, well-executed margheritas, and easy pastas, like fazzoletti tossed with almond basil pesto. You can even watch chefs make the noodles by hand through the open kitchen. Just make sure you finish things off by ordering their excellent cannoli showered in pistachios." - emmy kasten
