"The American restaurant Maxwell’s closed its locations north of Central Park in December. 'Our lease is up, and it’s time for us to move on,' owner Alex Tortolani, shared on Instagram. The restaurant had another location, in Tribeca, that closed during the pandemic after a decade." - Luke Fortney

Great place by Central Park, cozy and warm ambience with service that flows and chill. We went on a Sunday and truly enjoyed our experience here, it is spacious, has high and low tables and a bar depending on your vibe. The servers are friendly and helpful and food options diverse, also it seemed that there was a lot of activity during the week. I had steak, and loved it, my friends had burgers and loved it too I would definitely check it out again when in Harlem

My chicken soup was decent and what i needed on a chilly day. We ordered the lamb chops and they were scrumptious and tender. That plate would have been perfect with something green, maybe some broccoli. We needed to sit outside and unfortunately the heater didn't do much. By the time our meal was over my hands were quite cold as it was about 45 degrees out. The service was good but because of the price, i can't say I'd frequent this eatery.

Stopped in to Maxwells on a Thursday evening, moderately busy but very accommodating. We had originally seated ourselves outdoors and the ladies were getting chilly so they found us a table indoors. The indoor atmosphere was great, lighting turned down a bit, nice music, all around great place to just come out for a few drinks with friends or family in my opinion. My Shrimp Tacos (5) were excellent, fresh Gaucamole shining through, with the brightness of citrus as an under tone. There were 5 medium Shrimp in each taco with their signature sauce, this dish i would order again and twice on a Sunday. My Father had the fried Calamari which he devoured before I could take a picture basically, I said either you were really hungry or that was really good....he said a little of both and would order this again as well. My Sister had the Cheeseburger ordered at medium rare, it was delivered basically raw...they were quickly accommodating and flashed it again and came back just perfect. My sister thought the burger was great otherwise. All in, we would definitely visit here again if we are in New York, as the vibes and atmosphere here are great!!

Maxwell's was a great experience. Food was quality, service was very good. It did take 300 min for our food to come out, but the wait was worth it.the fish and chips provided a meal and a half. The tuna burger was filling, but lacked cohesive flavors. The chicken sandwich did not last long. Quite tasty! Would definitely go back again. Great atmosphere and just a quick walk from the park

Nice place cozy music was great 💃the staff was very friendly our waiter Gabriel was very attentive!! We had some buffalo wings which weren’t the best we’ve had. they were a bit bland & a little tough I personally like my wings that fall off the bone lol & we also had a Blt with egg sandwich which was sprinkled with powdered sugar we really didn’t care for it but I must say it was big & quite tasty 😋 my friend and & I shared it. We were looking forward to the steak & lambchops but we couldn’t order from the regular menu 😒due to it being early in the day & they were only serving brunch. But we wil definitely go back after brunch and try their dinner!!

My experience here was surprisingly good.. since I came here randomly when hanging out with friends. The outdoor seats were nice, the server was nice, and the food as well. I had the Cajun shrimp and salmon salad. Interestingly, the shrimp supposed to be the highlight, but I’ll say salmon almost took away the sit lol. Both good but salmon pieces were big which I loved so much. The green was also well mixed with the sauce with a lot of cheese on the top. I tried their fries and sweet potato fries too, they were good.

$136 for two frozen margaritas, two burger entrees, Wing app appetizer and cheese fries with gravy. We ate outside and the huge plant kept attacking us but no one ever offered to move it. The service was okay, food was really good. I guess what you would expect to pay in this neighborhood nowadays. When this place was Ottomanelli's I ate here all the time and never spent over 40 bucks.

Just had food there today. The macaroni & cheese was dry & bland, the buffalo chicken wings were stale/old& my daughter never got the garlic bread that suppose to come w her pasta dish as indicated on menu despite the fact that we asked waiter. Our waiter went to get the garlic bread after we asked and after 15 minutes, returned w 2 slices of white toast that had no garlic… waiter asked us how was everything & I said the Mac& cheese was horrible and chicken wings were not fresh & stale & that I could not eat it… I asked if new owner and he said no. Instead of taking back my dish (only ate two out of 6-7 chicken wing parts) to get replaced or asking me if I wanted something else, he gives me the check electronically on a device he had- picture below. I no longer recommend this place. Food quality has gone down a significant amount for the hefty prices…. In addition, bad service. Could’ve gotten better quality food, at least fresh, in the neighborhood for 98 dollars!!! And oh! The waiter initially tried to tell me that the bill was 108!!! When I asked to review the bill, he hesitated and showed me and I saw he included a 20+ tip fee which I quickly changed to 10 dollars… i honestly don’t feel he deserved that but I know it wasn’t his fault that the food was horrible….
