"The modern Mexican eatery from the team behind District Kitchen has both half and full liters of lime margaritas for sale. Those who can handle the heat can opt for the spicy diablo mixture instead." - Vinciane Ngomsi

"If you’re looking for a good group spot to grab dinner near Adams Morgan, check out Mayahuel Cocina Mexicana in Woodley Park. This Day of the Dead-themed restaurant is run by the same team as District Kitchen next door, and serves pitchers of margaritas and larger format Mexican dishes, like a whole branzino with green and red chile adobo and braised short ribs with huitlacoche salsa. If you’re stuck at the far end of the table and need to eat something else before you commit to a second round of margaritas, order some of the beef tongue tacos, too." - Lily Sahn

"Mayahuel Cocina Mexicana, District Kitchen’s new Day of the Dead-themed sister restaurant, features skull-covered decor and a colorful homage to the Mexican holiday. It offers a 90-seat dining space with vibrant interior design by Yvette Irene. The restaurant's menu includes starters like corn-poblano chile soup and ceviche, and main courses such as braised beef tongue tacos and the house Mexi-Burguesa. The bar, led by Fabian Malone, offers frozen margaritas and Mexican-inspired craft cocktails." - Tierney Plumb

I can't say enough nice things about this spot. I love the decor which is an ode to dia de Muertos without being campy. There are several cozy nooks all over the restaurant. The menu is Mexican with a twist. My Son and I loved every dish we ordered. The Margaritas are out of this world, my Son was envious of my drink so they made him a mocktail. I highly recommend the beef tongue tacos, vegetable tacos, fish tacos, plantains, street corn, tres leches cake -we ate one and ordered one to go. P.S: Take an Uber ormake reservations after 6:30 when parking on Connecticut opens back up.

Food was good, and came out fast but had to ask for waitress twice when I needed her, she kept disappearing

Really awesome sauce food and house margaritas. Not your typical combination mexican joint, its much better than that and we had a really good time here tonight for my birthday dinner. Beef tongue tacos were our favorite. Big portions, took a lot home with us and we're looking forward to it tomorrow. Churros for dessert were fabulous too.

I tried beef tongue (tacos) for the first time and it was a good experience! The waitress was friendly and they were able to accommodate our group of 7 for lunch with no problem.

Second time here in 3 days! If you have to get just one thing on the menu, make it their mango-tamarind margarita Good food, good service They're still pretty new, so give them a chance Have always loved district kitchen and I'm glad to add mayahuel to my favorite restaurants list as well!

The service and food was so good that we made a second visit. Consistent with the first visit! Cane took exceptional care of us! The food is flavorful and cooked to perfection!
