Pan-Asian fusion with Vietnamese, Indonesian, and Taiwanese flavors

"What It Is: A casual Southeast Asian spot in Palms Perfect For: Casual Weeknight Dinner, Cheap Eats We stopped into this small restaurant in a Palms strip mall barely a week after they opened and the place was already slammed. And for good reason - it’s a nice little neighborhood spot in a neighborhood without a whole lot of those. The food is Southeast Asian-inspired fusion: garlic egg noodles come topped with parmesean, Lao beef luc lac comes out looking more like Peruvian lomo saltado, and there’s also a burger on the menu. The Verdict: This is a great spot for a quick and tasty meal in Palms." - jess basser sanders, brant cox, brett keating

"A recent addition to the writer's regular rotation—mentioned as a newcomer that was incorporated into frequent visits." - Matthew Kang
"Mee & Greet is a casual Southeast Asian spot that’s quickly become a neighborhood hangout in a neighborhood that doesn’t have a whole lot of those. The food is Southeast Asian-ish, so garlic egg noodles come with parmesean on top, Lao beef luc lac comes out looking more like Peruvian lomo saltado, and there’s also a burger on the menu. They’ve got a big selection of beer, a couple of wine options, and no cocktails, making it a nice spot for a catch-up with friends when you’d all like a drink, but would also all like to be in bed by 9pm." - Jess Basser Sanders

"I found a cool new spot for Southeast Asian cuisine in Palms called Mee & Greet: a casual evening restaurant from Humble Potato founder Eric Ong that occupies a former doughnut shop (previously Kogi Taqueria) on the other side of the strip mall. Chef Minh Phan serves a tight menu of Vietnamese, Peranakan, and Singaporean dishes including Hainan chicken rice; pho with sliced filet mignon and sauteed brisket; garlic noodles; a turmeric fried chicken that draws from Indonesian flavors; and abo luc lacsaltado, which melds Peruvian and Cambodian influence. For the less adventurous there's a 7 ounce burger with sambal aioli, roasted garlic relish, and caramelized onions. It's reasonably priced and easy-going, a huge get for the neighborhood — the space is rather small but has a handy bar serving craft beers and a few wines. Mee & Greet opens June 9 at noon with happy hour specials throughout the opening weekend, plus one complimentary shared plate for early guests and a t-shirt giveaway." - Matthew Kang
