"I found a cool new spot for Southeast Asian cuisine in Palms called Mee & Greet: a casual evening restaurant from Humble Potato founder Eric Ong that occupies a former doughnut shop (previously Kogi Taqueria) on the other side of the strip mall. Chef Minh Phan serves a tight menu of Vietnamese, Peranakan, and Singaporean dishes including Hainan chicken rice; pho with sliced filet mignon and sauteed brisket; garlic noodles; a turmeric fried chicken that draws from Indonesian flavors; and abo luc lacsaltado, which melds Peruvian and Cambodian influence. For the less adventurous there's a 7 ounce burger with sambal aioli, roasted garlic relish, and caramelized onions. It's reasonably priced and easy-going, a huge get for the neighborhood — the space is rather small but has a handy bar serving craft beers and a few wines. Mee & Greet opens June 9 at noon with happy hour specials throughout the opening weekend, plus one complimentary shared plate for early guests and a t-shirt giveaway." - Matthew Kang
